I stayed here with my father and brother during our first visit to South Africa. The hotel itself is very pretty, with lots of greenery and well kept landscaping. The pools were also really nice and gave it a relaxed, upscale feel. The staff were friendly, warm, and accommodating, and you could tell they were working hard, even though it often felt like they were understaffed and each person had to juggle a lot of different tasks.||However, while we booked one of the nicer suites, there were some issues that stood out: there were ants in the bathroom and on the counter near the minibar. I had heard that Cape Town has a rat problem, but I was still surprised to see a rat running across the garden on three separate occasions, which definitely made me feel grossed out and uncomfortable. The shower had very weak water pressure, and although housekeeping came every day, the bathroom and floors never felt fully clean. There were still ants, some dirt, and even some hairs that were not ours.||Overall, it was a generally nice stay in a beautiful setting, and the staff themselves were lovely. But given the price and these issues, it did not feel like a true 5 star experience.
