The Clarendon Fresnaye Boutique Hotel

We had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. Our room was very comfortable and nicely appointed. And the best part was the team of friendly warm people on staff. Our main man Gift took such great care of us. He recommended great nearby restaurants based on what we wanted to eat, gave us directions, made reservations, etc. we felt like family.||The grounds were beautiful. The property is at the base of Lions Head with a view (from our room) of the city, ocean and the lovely pool.

We had a fabulous stay at this hotel! It was well located and walkable to several restaurants in the Sea Point neighborhood, and the hop on hop off bus stop! Being on the side of the hill, there were views of the water and the surrounding mountains. The room was clean and spacious, and the pool area had a very chic vibe. Security was always at the front gate, so we felt very safe at the property. We had wonderful service from our friend Gift, who helped stow our luggage when we had time to spare, Daud who made the most wonderful lattes each morning, and Mavuto who greeted us each time we came and went. I'd highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a place to relax in between exploring Cape Town!

This was one of the most pleasant experiences I have had while traveling. The room was modern, spacious, beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was fantastic and afternoon tea with cake was delicious as well. Easy walk to the water and restaurants. Hop on hop off bus stop was a few blocks away. Well run establishment - they were very accommodating and attentive - even let us store our luggage a couple days after we left as we ran into a bind with the timing of our departure (thanks Gift!). While the rooms and food are exceptional - the staff truly makes this place a gem!I I especially wanted to mention Gift as he really went above and beyond to make our difficulties melt away with a big smile. I also want to mention Mavuto, Phillip and Duad as we were always greeted and taken care of by the staff with genuine smiles and the feeling that they really wanted us to enjoy every last moment of our stay. All interactions I had with the staff were top notch. It really makes a difference! Thank you for such a wonderful stay in Cape Town!!!

From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave we loved the hotel. A small ***** star boutique stay, in an very safe area and superb rooms and staff.|Gift and the other staff made our stay fabulous. No question is to much. A smile and Service is all you need. Cake and coffee in the afternoon is included. Note; grabb an Uber to town, easy and not more Than 15|Minutes to the waterfront !

We had a wonderful 5-day-stay with every wish fulfilled: Beautiful rooms and surroundings, a great breakfast and most of all, very friendly, attentive hosts. Thank you Mr. Gift and the whole staff for making us feel so welcome and special - not to forget the birthday surprises making my day. |We can only highly recommend this hotel and its staff!

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Clarendon Fresnaye, recommended by the travel agency Go2Africa. Every element of our stay was 5 stars. |We had requested first floor due to mobility issues. Our room was bright , clean, and large. Excellent care of the room and cover turn down with a treat for bedtime. |Breakfast was included. There was a complete cold buffet plus to order eggs of any type with accompaniments. Great coffee and teas. |We had dinner at our request on the fourth evening. The salmon was excellent and prepared to perfection. It was put on a bed of broccoli with a large dish of roasted vegetables. We had a very large fruit plate but there are much more decadent desserts on offer. |The real reason for the five stars is the staff. Everyone was friendly and could not do enough to meet our needs and wants. Each member of the staff knew who we were. They remembered things like that my wife is lactose intolerant. Each staff member was concerned to make sure we had had a good day and to make the next day as good as possible. |I fully recommend this boutique hotel as a place to spend a great visit to Cape Town.

We arrived late at night with our young child and were whisked without delay to our room. The accomodation, property and staff gave us everything that we needed for a perfect stay. We felt so at home, especially with the wonderful and attentive service provided by Gift. You really feel that you are in a boutique hotel with character, and not just any generic spot. Highly recommend to anyone, from singles to couples to families!

Feels very much like a home, a nice calm place in the middle of a hectic city. Amazing staff who are very nice and helpful. Good rooms as well. Strongly recommend to those who want a cozy safe and calming place to stay in cape town.
