The Claw House

This place was just such a great time! The whole Murrel’s inlet is a fun place to visit, just to walk around near the water and listen to live music as almost all the waterfront restaurants have live bands in the evenings. At least during the summer months. We had a hard time choosing a place as all the restaurants looked really good and this was no exception. We really enjoyed our time here as we got to sit near the water. We ordered a seafood boil, crab nachos and these “pig wings” which we had no idea what that was and then tried them and thought those were the best thing we had eaten all day. Honestly such a funny find since it’s a seafood restaurant! The service here was amazing, our sever was incredible and very attentive. All in all a very very wonderful time!

Our group of 4 were seated on the patio. It was heated and provided a beautiful view of the marsh. This particular evening special was all the crab legs you can eat. The cost was only $5 more than the regular crab leg meal. All the crab legs were hot and delicious. Reorders were timely and extremely quick. The view, service, and food were top notch. I would highly recommend a visit. If you love crab legs, this is the place.

The location is by the water. Beautiful and clean. Waitress was phenomenal. She checked on us every 5-10 mins. Food was great! My fried fish had amazing seasoning. I was not a fan of my drink, cucumber gin fizz. But overall, great experience!

We stopped here for dinner on our way to the gardens for a night of a thousand candles. We got there before the rush but it was packing in fast. Our waitress Jen was amazing. Making sure our drinks were filled and that our food was as ordered. The atmosphere was so cozy. Beachy, Christmasy, and comfy. The fish tanks were so beautiful too watch while we waited. Our wait was short, so I couldn't even look at all the fish. I did find Nemo and Dory though. We started with the oyster rock and that were so delicious. Packed full and very meaty. I could probably order a double and make them a meal. For the entrees, I had the grilled fisherman platter. Packed full of seafood to include a nice filet of founder, a handful of shrimp, and several wonderful scallops. I got the garlic mashed potatoes, which was recommended by Jen, and she did not steer me wrong. There was plenty of food, I couldn't even finish the whole plate. My wife ordered the seafood Mac and cheese, and wow! Plenty of seafood and a wonderful cheesy sauce with the pasta. Lobster, shrimp and scallops were plentiful throughout. She too couldn't finish her plate. While we were both full, we decided to get the chocolate cake to go. Not a bad choice for a late night snack after walking through the gardens. Rich and flavorful to say the least. I highly recommend this place for a good seafood dinner. Be ready though if you go around 6 to 7pm because it does get busy.

Great location for fresh seafood. We drove 20 minutes from Myrtle Beach. My husband wanted crablegs. Even though they weren't AYCE, he said they tasted great! I ordered the grouper and risotto. We both enjoyed the shrimp ans crab rangoon egg rolls!Good cocktails. We had wonderful service and there was no wait on a Sunday afternoon.

We were a party of three on a busy Friday night. When we arrived I was sure that we’d have a long wait but much to my surprise we were sat immediately. We started with lobster rolls and then each got another entree. I got surf and turf tacos which were good but fyi they’re a little spicy. My boyfriend got the surf & turf and says his steak was a little undercooked to his preference and not super flavorful and his brother got the Cajun red fish and really enjoyed it. Overall we were satisfied with our experience and starting off with the lobster rolls really started the meal on a good note. We all agreed with hwy we could’ve gotten a second lobster roll and been just as satisfied. Our waiter was also attentive and prompt.

We had the best experience! Server invited questions and was very knowledgeable when I asked about oysters. I decided to try my first oyster and he made sure my husband & I had the best experience. I tried the Mama Mia oyster with lemon & saltine and was pleasantly surprised at its refreshing taste. We were there for light lunch and chose tuna ceviche & chorizo shrimp tacos. Our server brought us ice water to go for our sightseeing at Murrels Inlet SC.

I mentioned to my husband that I wanted to go to The Claw House. I could already taste their house oysters on the half shell. The Bartender made a great dirty martini. To start I got the crab and shrimp Rangoon. Delicious. He started with the surf and turf skewers. I'm assuming they were good because they were all gone when I looked. Next he got soup and I got the house oysters. They were delicious. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

I wish I got more photos and video here, but I promise Ill get better at this. We had an amazing lunch at The Claw House. While pets aren't allowed inside the restaurant-which I completely understand-they do permit dogs on the outdoor patio. However, we were a bit disappointed to learn that the screened-in patio wasn't pet-friendly. Instead, we sat on the lower patio, which turned out to be a great spot with a beautiful view right on the water. We started with the mussels as an appetizer and had the lobster roll for lunch-everything was fresh, flavorful, and filling. Highly recommend this place for the food and the views. Excellent customer service-- our waiter was super friendly and provided quick service. Clam chowder is very flavorful- less potatoes and more clams may be even better. Crab nacho was great. Calamari was great. This time- restaurant offer 4-7pm happy hours menu- it was great timing.

Solid food and solid vibes! Sat on the patio area which is enclosed. It was toasty! For app we got the crab nachos. They were surprisingly good! Nachos are actually wonton chips which were nice and crispy. Also was a really good white cheese sauce on the nachos too. Only suggestion would be for the restaurant to do it in a tray so the nachos can be more spread and evenly coated. For the main, I got the oyster po boy. The oysters were plump and evenly fried. Overall a solid sandwich with a good sauce. Service was attentive. No complaints.

This is my favorite restaurant on the marshwalk. The atmosphere is lively, locals and tourists having fun and talking. The lobster roll is the best thing on the menu. It is exactly like ones you can get in Boston so fresh ! Also the crab nachos are excellent.

This restaurant is right on the marina and has the best view of the water from their outside patio. They have a few parking spots in front, and more pay to park spots on the adjacent lot. For appetizer, I started with the crab nachos. I didn't realize how big the dish would be! It is definitely a shareable item for 3+ people. I was pleasantly surprised by how good these nachos were! I loved the crispiness of the wontons and the fresh mango salsa, pico and avocado on top. For my entree, I had the lobster roll. I was in heaven! The lobster was chunky and a good amount. They did not skimp. It was drizzled with butter that made every bite delicious! It came with fries. I was so full after eating the nachos and roll. The waitress was very attentive and checked on us many times. I had a great lunch dining experience.

I visited here on a recent work trip and on the drive from Wilmington to Charleston and sat on their popular outdoor covered patio. I picked the cajun reddish entree and subbed for the bacon jam and green onion paste, served over risotto instead of grits. I also added a 1/2 dozen of the off-menu Momma Mia (Canadian) oysters. The meal was delicious and the service was great. My colleague also seemed to enjoy his meal. There are a ton of restaurants to choose from in this strip along Hwy 17, but this seems to be one of the better ones for sure as far as an elevated experience and a view without the elevated prices.

It was our first time at the Claw House during Memorial Day weekend but it is a new favorite spot for our family. We went to celebrate my dad's belated birthday so we started out with the calamari appetizer and the corn/crab chowder. The chowder was a bit too spicy for me (but I don't like spice at all), my mom loved it. The calamari was a hit--my 5 year old ate more than anyone else. She'd never had it before but she loved it! She asked the server for a refill. My mom ordered salmon and it was perfectly cooked. The sauce was spectacular. My husband got the tuna poke tacos and they were so good. I tried a piece of the tuna and it was incredible. My dad got the crab tower, which has mangos in it and came with chips. I ordered the lobster roll. I love that sandwich! I've had lobster rolls before and it tops them all. The bread was a beautiful split top, the meat was tender and perfectly cooked. I would recommend! The restaurant is neat because it has different seating areas. We sat on a deck that was enclosed by windows so you could still enjoy the water. Definitely a hit!

The Claw House is a seafood restaurant in Murrells Inlet. They have a full service raw bar and beer garden, with over 90 drafts on tap. There are a ton of places to eat in Murrells Inlet, but The Claw House is my favorite. On top of the beautiful view, the food is fresh and flavorful, and the service is fun and friendly. My last visit I ordered pretzel bites, crab & shrimp Rangoon egg rolls, and a lobster roll. The pretzel bites were buttered and salted to perfection, and served with beer cheese. The egg rolls were stuffed with crab, shrimp, cream cheese, and scallions, and served with a sweet and tangy dipping sauce. The lobster roll was packed with meat and topped with melted butter. Every bite was spectacular! This is one of those places where the entire menu sounds amazing. There are a ton of other things I still have to try, so I'll definitely be back. Food was served hot. Presentation was appealing. Large portions. Taste was spot on. Ambiance was lovely- you can sit by a large tropical fish tank, by the bar, under a covered porch, or outside Al fresco with a wonderful view of the marsh while watching people pass by on the Marshwalk. I highly recommend.

I came here while visiting family in SC and enjoyed the experience. I was excited to see red fish on the menu and if did not disappoint. I just recently started eating fish and this dish was delicious! It was seasoned perfectly. I also really enjoyed the lavender haze summer gin cocktail. It was right up my alley. My mom had the shrimp platter. It was decent but everything else from the food, service and ambiance was great!

Service was quick and friendly. Food was pretty good. All you can eat crab legs is definitely worth the price but they were a little hard to crack. Oysters were decent. They do $1.50 oysters during Happy Hour 4-6 PM. Lots of cool decor and it's on the water too.

drinks good. pretzel bites excellent-- lobster roll terrible, lobster overcooked and chewy, sandwich lukewarm with little butter. I are less than half.... clams in the cjhowder were tough and the soup was not hot and lacked taste. in all a disappointing meal certainly not worth the money Rich K

We came Friday at 5pm which was a great time before it started getting busy. The inside dining is on the smaller side but they do have more tables outside. The service was fantastic and I enjoyed looking at the big fish tank while I ate. The pretzel bites were a good appetizer. The seafood Mac n cheese wasn't that great at all. Their Mac n cheese lacks flavor. However, the grouper with risotto was fantastic. I asked for lobster cream sauce instead and the sauce was sooo good.

We were surprised at how quick we were seated on a Friday night (in May but still) and the service was fast too HIGHLY recommend the crab nachos!!

My neighbor from home has a condo in garden city and highly recommended this place. We had never been to murrels inlet and it was packed and this was off season. Parking is easy across the street is a large open lot. It was high ceiling and very nautical inside, right along the marshwalk. We got the crab egg rolls to start (filling had good flavor) but they were fried long enough so skins were kinda gummy. Also had a cup of she crab soup very flavorful. I had the grouper stack which had crab cake and parm risotto so good just wished the fish wasn't fried. My husband had the cajun seared snapper. I would go back yo try more.

Fun place to have lunch or dinner. Great service from the moment you walk in. Food was good. Great selection of beers and cocktails.

The Claw House is always a fun place for the whole family. Unfortunately, our party was too big to sit out on the porch, which provides views of the water. Still, inside seating was just fine with us. We had oysters to start our meal. They were delicious. I had the poke tuna tacos, which were not bad, but not amazing. My kids had a sirloin, salmon and chicken schnitzel, which they all enjoyed. My husband stuck with a favorite of ours, the crab nachos. Those are always a win. We didn't have drinks, but they have a huge selection of beer on tap, along with wine and cocktails.

Food was great! Warm lobster roll was not stingy with meat and the crab legs were very well cooked. Unfortunately service was barely existent. Our server took about 10 minutes to stop by and get our drinks, and then only came back to take payment, as they have runners dropping off the food. Zero eye contact, and clearly had other places she would have rather been. I was pretty disappointed by that, and probably won't be back on that alone.

Just came back there today and it wasn't near as good as the first time I went which was disappointing! The calamari took forever to come out and when it did come out it tasted like it was cooked too long. It was rubbery and not much flavor this time. We sat outside and they had the dish cart out there right next to our table and would loudly put dishes in there. With a baby at our table trying to sleep, all the banging and clanging of the dishes wasn't appreciative. Seems like they could have been more considerate in general with making that much noise next to a table of people trying to enjoy their meal. The restaurant wasn't busy so they could have easily moved it further away. It was just overall disappointing compared to the first time I came. I'm hoping it just wasn't a good day for them and that's all it was.

Been here a few times before and loved it, but last week we came here and was pretty disappointed. Service and ambiance are always great here which is a plus. The food is usually great but this last time it was mediocre. We ordered the crab nachos which weren't bad but there wasn't enough crab or queso. The mango on it was also frozen which wasn't a pleasant taste or texture. I ordered the poke bowl and that's where they lost me. The poke bowl was seriously lacking in flavor and tasted more like something someone made at home. The rice was bland and not completely cooked, the carrots and cucumber were just cut up carrots and cucumbers and not marinated or pickled in anything. The sauce was also lacking. Basically the entire bowl was bland and lacked any flavor.

My expectations were not high with the mixed reviews on here. However, we really enjoyed our meals here! Despite it being a holiday weekend, our party of 7 was seated immediately for dinner. We were seated on the covered patio, which overlooks the docks. Nice view! Our waitress, Jennifer, was very attentive. Food was yummy! I had the fish and chips, and the fish was perfectly battered, slaw was yummy, and fries were crispy. Also, the two apps we tried-- crab nachos and pretzel bites-- were so good! My son had the seafood mac, and he raved about it. Big portions!

I enjoyed a lovely fresh fish lunch at the Claw House, topped off with a beautiful view! I was able to sit outside on a lovely Saturday afternoon, where the restaurant has an open patio overlooking the inlet. The fish and grits I ordered were flavorful and filling, and I appreciated the quick and friendly service. It definitely seems like it can get busy at times but I enjoyed the quiet! Easy free parking across the street in the dirt lot.

We have a table on the covered patio with an awesome view. The food was excellent. We had a grill platter and wedge salad. They even accommodated some of my food, sensitivities and modified my dish. The service was also first rate. We highly recommend The Claw House.

Came here at 8. They close at 9. Huge wait...50 minutes to an hour. We were eventually seated on the covered patio. We ordered right away and got the food fast. My BIL got fish and chips and said it was the best fish and chips that he ate on our vacation. My sis and I got the crab nachos. They were AMAZING. If you're thinking about getting them....DO IT. I got a warm butter lobster roll as well. It was good but definitely needs a rémoulade sauce added. Service was very friendly and sweet but slightly inattentive. All in all....even with the wait, well worth it. I would go there again just for the crab nachos.

I went there by myself for a nice afternoon cocktail. Sat outside on the lower deck. It was a beautiful day and the waitress was wonderful. I had the fish bites for an appetizer, they were absolutely delicious. I would recommend going to this place the food is very good and the service was wonderful. The upper and lower decks are a really nice place to sit on a nice day.

This was my first time here and it was great experience. The food was cooked well they also serve Coke products. The food didn't take long all the employees were very kind and welcoming. The ambiance is great there are inside and outside seating.

Service was super great, the food however was quite lackluster. My party was excited to try this spot, with the location being so great and the exciting inside. We all were quite disappointed with our meal, with the exception of the chopped salad, which was utterly delicious. Our consensus was that our everything seemed under seasoned and dry. Fisherman's platter was , grouper platter was tasty but bland, and the filet was pricey and chewy. Fun spot, but would recommend looking elsewhere sadly, especially for the price.

I wanted so badly to love this place, it's right on the Marsh Walk with a beautiful view. The menu looked great and our server was amazing and very attentive. The problem was the food...the lobster was chewy, the clam strips were overcooked and hard and none of the food was served hot. Maybe the regular cook wasn't there, but this was such a disappointment. Sadly we won't be returning when there are so many other options of great places to eat in the waterfront area.

Super cute place! We picked a random restaurant on the MarshWalk and we hit the jackpot. Well decorated, super nice waiter, good food, and not a super long wait for food either Would highly recommend

Good food, good service, fresh seafood, outdoor waterfront dining overlooking a beautiful salt marsh Too much salt in the battered fried seafood though.

This place has quickly become our go to on our trips to the beach. We always had directly to the bar around back and pick from the amazing craft beer options. The crab stack is always my go to and it never disappoints! I was a bit disappointed with the wine selection when we were in two weeks ago. I was served an ice cold Cabernet out of a paper individual size box and if that's the only option next time we go I will definitely skip it! You guys can do better than that! Service is only so so outside at that bar but luckily the snacks we've had and the view make it worth it.

Last night (7-9) my brother and I went for dinner. We sat at the bar in front of the oyster shucking station. The two guys working the bar were absolutely fantastic. We started off with the drunken mussels then some oysters, then crab and shrimp egg rolls and finally the melted butter lobster roll. The food was remarkable as always. The service from the raw bar guys was beyond excellent. The Claw house is my favorite restaurant and the one I visit most every time I come down to South Carolina from Boston. We loved the claw house!! The claw house is on the marsh walk and it was delishious!! We got the seafood Mac and cheese, bacon jam scallops and the Grouper. The service and view of the marsh was also amazing. If thou are in the Myrtle, Surfside or Murrels Inlet area, than I HIGHLY recommend the Claw House

We have been twice so far and will go again. Very nice and helpful staff, perfect spot, great atmosphere. None of us ever had a complaint about any of the food, it was all really good. The clam strips are fantastic, the prices are great.

We decided to go here for happy hour specials and dinner. Our amazing waitress Candace made sure we had everything we needed and kept our drinks full! We ordered the pretzel bite, skewers and calamari happy hour specials. All of them came out quickly and everything was very good except the calamari was very chewy. Candace took care of it and made sure to find out what was wrong with it so she could let the kitchen know. We ordered dinner and everything came out and was delicious! I got the crab cake sandwich but just ate it as a crab cake. Candace was very friendly had a great personality and was on top of everything we needed!

Mediocre, dull flavors created with low quality ingredients that appeared to be assembled in a hurry.

Stopped here for dinner and while we were able to get right in, that was the most positive thing about this place. Food was lackluster and lacked flavor. I ordered an appetizer and something from the raw bar for my meal and it never came out. One of our party asked for no tomato and got a completely plain po'boy entirely and had to then ask for the remaining items to be brought over to complete his sandwich. The grouper stack had crunchy white rice and what they considered a lobster sauce was really just a cream sauce that was bland as can be and the crab cakes were fried to a crisp and again bland. Someone in the kitchen takes blood pressure seriously and doesn't believe in salt or something... The sweet tea is definitely that- sweet as can be. Our server was friendly though and on top of drinks. The food isn't a direct reflection of her. She was lovely.

Just an update. Food is still solid. Don't really trust the digital check out option. Looking at the calculations the percent charge was higher than I selected AND they calculate it on tax included. Not cool.

Gave it 3 stars because the waiter service was great and atmosphere but For the amount of people that wait 2 hours for a table I guess they are zombies I had the pan seared fish but it was really fried fish with a little breading over grits the grits was very dried also the temperature in the restaurant was very cold as your meal comes out in 12 minutes your food plate is cold

We entered from The Marsh Walk and had to find our way to the hostess at the front of the restaurant for seating. We were greeted immediately and asked preferred seating and she advised us that we could be seated immediately if we chose outside no cover or outside covered patio. This was great for us as we wanted water side seating with umbrella table. Our waiter greeted us and took our drink order. The view is beautiful and the breeze was perfect! I chose the strawberry salad as I needed a break from the seafood we have been eating and it was filled with fresh greens, fresh strawberries and whole walnuts and the chicken was delicious!!! The service spot on and I will definitely return if in this area.

Great meal with good friends and family. We arrived with a party of nine and were told it would be 45 minutes until we had a table. We got drinks and were patiently waiting enjoying the incredible exotic fishes aquarium when after about 15 minutes they asked if we'd be okay with high tops in the bar we said sure! (Even though out on the patio is best, if you can get it!) our waitress was wonderful food was great especially the fisherman's platter. We even added a to go order for one of our party we would see later. Iced tea was exceptional. The only downside was the "Maryland" crab cake which wasn't Maryland style at all. We're from Baltimore so .... You can get it but just so you know it is NOT Maryland style. We had a great time and would come back anytime.

We came here on a Friday evening and like all of the other restaurants on this strip, there was quite a line. Well... the wait was MORE than worth it! To our surprise, they had a massive fish tank up front full of beautiful fish. It kept our younger cousin's fully entertained all the way up to being seated. They were especially excited when we learned that it had been featured and built on the show "Tanked". We were seated after about a 45 minute wait and our waitress was quick to get out drinks. I tried the spicy margarita and could taste how fresh the ingredients were. It packed quite a punch! We then put in our appetizers that came out pretty quickly. I shared the drunken mussels with my husband. They were steamed with beer, bacon, lemon, garlic, butter and fresh herbs and served with perfectly toasted bread. These were great and I only wished there was a little more garlic flavor throughout. Next, we were on to our main courses and what I had particularly picked this place for. THE LOBSTER ROLL! I opted for the warm one, served in a split top bun and drizzled with melted butter goodness and a side of fries. The first bite quite literally made me dance. It was SO fresh tasting, with large chunks of lobster and a perfectly toasted, soft bun. My husband went with the steak sandwich and said it fully lived up to his hopes and more. It is safe to say that The Claw House will be a staple for us during our annual beach week. Thanks for having us!

Went here for the first time about a week ago! The service was great & food was delicious. Naturally it is a little pricey, but it isn't at all as fancy on the inside as I thought it was. Definitely would recommend giving it a chance. Get the raspberry mojito while you're there! It's delicious! They do have their gluten free options labeled which is nice!

I wish we had gone to this recommended spot earlier on arrival! This was THE best meal I had during our day at MB.. it was 6 of us and Audi took care of us. She works well under pressure and timely. I had the fish bites appetizer and pan seared grouper. It was sooo good! Audi then became our photographer at the end of the night as my sorority sisters wanted to capture the beautiful moment! I'll recommend the spot to anyone who listens! We enjoyed, laughed, ate and drank! Thanks for the good time!

Great ambience! Our server was phenomenal. She did everything right. I think she was from New York. The food was so-so and the price was kinda high.
