The Cley Smokehouse

Tiny shop that you have to visit if you like smoked fish. We visited from Oxfordshire during our visit to Norfolk. We bought smoked shrimps, salmon and crab paté. Everything was lovely and delicious! The price is very reasonable too and the Lady was very nice.

Fantastic little shop, first class produce. We bought smoked salmon (plain), gravad laks and smoked mackerel (peppered). Lots of other options, including smoked duck breast and smoked pigeon breast. On the expensive side, but warranted by the quality

Tucked away in the narrow streets of Holt I came across this wonderful smokehouse. Unfortunately, I came too late to buy some crab but I did try their smoked salmon filet and also their gravlax. I'm planning to return next time I'm in Norfolk.

Closed in January and February - wasted trip. I hate to give bad reviews but there was no mention of it anywhere, apart from on a chalk board when you get there. Disappointed this time.

We bought some smoked haddock from here and it was exceptionally good. Helpful service as well. If only we loved nearer

A fantastic local shop serving a really good range of smoked produce! We tried the mackerel pate, hot smoked salmon, gravlax & crayfish!! All really high quality! We shopped late morning and they had a really good stock of everything! Popped over the road for fresh bread - perfect lunch sorted!

Great selection of smoked fish aswell as dry smoked beef, pork, chicken and even wood pigeon. Some tasty pates on offer too. Ideal stop for collecting tasty treats to have a picnic on the marshes.

We purchased a range of produce, including dressed crab, crayfish tails, smoked mackrell lunch box, smoked trout and orange pate, crab sandwich, and a smoked salmon lunch box. All were delicious. We will definitely be returning.

A bit stinky, but in a fresh, wholesome, coastal way and what do you expect?! This is a traditional fish shop that smokes its own fish, on the premises! Kippers and prawns a specialty but also other shelfish, cured meats and pates to choose from. Locally sourced wherever possible, delicious fresh ingredients and genuinely down to earth, friendly atmosphere welcomes you to a long established traditional culinary experience. Highly recommended (just don't put the kippers in your pocket, you'll be reminded of the Smokehouse for years to come).

We stayed at Cley Mill and had smoked haddock from the smokehouse for breakfast. Fantastic! Margaret and Terry
