This themed hotel is a bit of an institution, has been around since forever as far as I know. But it was my first time to stay here and it was long enough to get a good grip of it. I feel like the building and its facilities have seen better days. The roof over the stairway leaks, hot water wasn't working, and the rooms look really dated. Having said that...you're not gonna get spacious rooms like this for the price point anywhere else. Staff was helpful when we needed them. Paid parking was available. AC was a window type unit that sufficiently cooled the room. You got food and drink options in all directions nearby, and is excellent if you don't mind the seedy bars. Would stay here again as long as the hot shower works.

There is a rude staff here. The old lady with tattoo is hard to approach. The towels were old. The water will suddenly stop dripping and the warm water has latency since they uses solar power. I wont go back here anymore. I was here for a week now. I dont recommend this place.

The room is really nice. I forget her name but the young lady with braces was very polite. I would have spent my whole vacation here but after the initial 2 nights I booked except I need hot water for showing. They do have it but it's solar hot water. It was raining for 2 days I was there and I asked and said have to wait for sun. The older lady said she would come show me and knock soon but never came. I prefer a darker room as I sleep during the day. There was a sign saying the have noise reducing curtains available upon request I'm guessing they would make the room darker They also have some weird rules you have to agree to when checking in. After booking I received a email saying it is an apartment not serviced room (see picture) If your out late at night/early morning be careful out front. There is alot of ladyboys prowling near here.

I've stayed here several times over the past 10 years.Basic accommodation at a reasonable price. Location is steps away from the major nightlife of P. Burgos neighborhood. 24 hr restaurants, laundry, convenience stores are all close by. As a reviewer noted it can be a bit loud, but that's to be expected with the location. Good value.

Good location, close to night spots and restaurants. Can walk from here. Bed is comfortable. Shower pressure pressure low. Worn down hotel, but clean. Price is value for money.

I stayed here last year and can confidently say it is the loudest room you will find in Manila. It sounded like I was standing in the street. They offered me a sound blanket that made me laugh. I checked out two days early to find a more peaceful hotel down the street. They didn't offer a refund or apology. Girl no.

Yelp
We had an unexpected overnight layover in Manila when we missed a connecting flight home. We were lucky to find a very good deal on a simple room at the Clipper Hotel last minute -- a clean, nice looking place with a location walkable for finding places to eat, walk, look around, and people watch. We especially liked the surprise of the Art Deco details, the potted palms, the design homage to luxury intercontinental air travel & Pan Am's heyday. The staff was professional, conscientious, kind, and even outfitted in crisp naval inspired uniforms worthy of Pan Am's prime. I'm surprised people don't make a bigger deal about this place. Coffee & breakfast the next morning at Commune around the corner was a nice cap to our time there.

Yelp
The Clipper Hotel is located conveniently around the P Burgos Area. That doesn't mean that you get a lot of noise or you feel unsafe in the area though. It just means that you are nearby rockwell, makati, nightlife and century city mall and it's always easy to flag down a cab here. I'm so happy that the owner decided to save this beautiful art nouveau building and turned it into something meaningful. Rooms start from 2600 php, which is pretty cheap because you get a very decent clean room with a nice hot shower, breakfast and free happy hour in the bar downstairs. If you tell them you like airplanes, they have a suite with jet fighter parts in it, since the owner loves planes. Awesome building, location and experience.

Yelp
i occupied room #205 for 3 weeks in august of 2016. the clipper's ace in the hole is its location. you're steps away from the nightlife of burgos street and walking distance to 4 major malls in the area. century city mall is a 5 minute walk, the power plant a 10 minute walk and greenbelt and glorietta are 20 minutes away. it's a good way to get some exercise in during your vacation. or catch a cab to the mall or to anywhere in manila; they're plentiful on burgos street. my room was on the second floor and was in a nice quiet corner. i couldn't couldn't hear anyone having sex unlike when i stayed at the citadel inn on burgos several years back. the a/c worked well and i liked that the room had a safe. house keeping kept my room tidy and the front desk and door man were always attentive. my one complaint is the wifi signal did not work well in my room. i'd definitely stay here again. dueces!
