The Close Hotel

A beautiful hotel in a great location, we were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable receptionist. Our room was beautiful and had lovely amenities, including a coffee machine, teas and flapjacks as well as Molton Brown toiletries, robes and slippers. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and the food was great and the staff very professional. The fire was lit which gave a cosy atmosphere. |The included breakfast was also really tasty with a selection of fruit cereals and pastries and then hot food cooked to order.|We really enjoyed our stay here and would return, it would be nice to come in the summer to enjoy the garden. |Only very minor downsize was that as its an old building we could hear the people above us walking around and the water pipe from their bathroom but they weren't noisy at night or in the morning and it is not something that could be rectified by the staff as its a quirk of the age of the property. Great stay all round!

We used the Close in Tetbury as our base for visiting several places in the Cotswolds and found it to be a charming and relaxing stay. There is an old fashioned yet modern feel to the whole place which made for a really lovely vibe. The fire was on in the reception when we checked in and we were instantly made to feel at home by the amazing staff. The room was clean, tidy and cosy and the food was amazing. The breakfast menu and buffet was full of choice and really quite diverse. The dinner menu was also great. It was well presented and tasted great. We’d definitely stay again if visiting the Cotswolds in the future.

We spent an evening at the bar and restaurant (did not stay at the hotel), and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The place is lovely — clean, cozy, and tastefully decorated. The food was excellent: flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. A special mention goes to the young lady who was serving in the restaurant — she was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. Her friendly attitude really made us feel welcome. The gentleman behind the bar was also very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, one staff member — a blonde, middle-aged lady — was extremely rude and dismissive toward us. It felt like she didn’t want us there, which made parts of the evening uncomfortable and awkward. Despite this, the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the kindness of the other staff members made up for it. With more consistent hospitality, this could easily be a 5-star experience.

We stayed for one night at this beautiful hotel and it was fabulous. We managed to park at the rear of the hotel. We walked through the stunning gardens, into the cosy reception area where there was an open fire and a Christmas tree waiting.|Our room on the first floor called Dove, was spacious, tasteful decor and a super large bed. There was fresh milk and flapjacks. The bathroom had a fantastic, large roll top bath. What a treat.|We did not use the restaurant as we were eating out but it looked|very busy. |A big shout out thank you to Nigel on in the evening reception who was super professional and very helpful with directions , plus he assisted us with some photos of us by the fire.|A stunning hotel and we will be back!

Popped in for lunch and had the most delicious meal in the gardens behind the hotel. Incredible attention to detail with the personal service and presentation of food. Highly recommend if you are in Tetbury, a real hidden gem on the high street. Will definitely be back for the fish and chip supper and any other events they are having. Thanks to the Saturday lunch time wait staff, they were simply excellent.

The Close Hotel was highly recommended and I am so glad that we dropped in for lunch. We were staying nearby at a highly publicised spa hotel and really wished we had stayed at The Close instead – it is actually much nicer. The Close Hotel is beautifully decorated and brimming with history and character. We ate a delicious lunch in the hotel’s sunny rear garden – a beautiful oasis in the centre of Tetbury. The food was great and the service efficient and friendly. We very much look forward to returning in the future, and will certainly stay at the hotel on our next visit to this lovely town.

My husband and I loved our time at The Close Hotel in Tetbury! It was stunningly beautiful and wonderfully quaint. The restaurant at the hotel was amazing. Every meal we had was delicious and the service was excellent. We enjoyed tea time every afternoon with warm scones, a beautiful view, and a good book. The town of Tetbury was also lovely with lots of antique stores to stroll through, local bakeries, fun gift shops, great restaurants, and more! Tetbury was not super touristy, which was very nice and it was easy to get to other villages to explore. We will definitely be back!!

Popped in for a quick lunch and was seated in the hotel garden to enjoy a delicious meal with excellent service. All the waiting staff were extremely polite and friendly. We could not fault a single thing, it is a real hidden gem in the centre of the town. Very calm and relaxing, it is a great place to either enjoy the sun or cool off in the shade. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend
