The Close, Tetbury (Tetbury, Cotswolds) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In the heart of the picturesque Cotswold town of Tetbury is The Close, a 16th-century manor house that’s evolved over the years into what it is now: a modern take on a classic country house hotel, which happens to be right in the thick of Tetbury town life. Rich modern colors and contemporary furnishings contrast in a lively way with the twists and turns of the old house; each bedroom is unique, and the Garden Room restaurant is a local favorite." - Tablet Hotels

Popped in for a quick lunch and was seated in the hotel garden to enjoy a delicious meal with excellent service. All the waiting staff were extremely polite and friendly. We could not fault a single thing, it is a real hidden gem in the centre of the town. Very calm and relaxing, it is a great place to either enjoy the sun or cool off in the shade. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend

The Close Hotel was highly recommended and I am so glad that we dropped in for lunch. We were staying nearby at a highly publicised spa hotel and really wished we had stayed at The Close instead – it is actually much nicer. The Close Hotel is beautifully decorated and brimming with history and character. We ate a delicious lunch in the hotel’s sunny rear garden – a beautiful oasis in the centre of Tetbury. The food was great and the service efficient and friendly. We very much look forward to returning in the future, and will certainly stay at the hotel on our next visit to this lovely town.

We stayed for one night but it was a hugely impressive experience. Without exception the staff are delightful; the food is delicious, breakfast is especially good; rooms are spotless and, even if we wanted to, we could not think of anything that could give rise to even a minor complaint.||One tip that might be worth noting is that the “cosy” room that we originally booked was cosier than we thought. It is very small with a very small bed, ideal maybe for a honeymoon couple but not for a couple of veterans. We asked if a bigger room was available, which it was, and the transfer was happily accommodated. It is a lovely hotel. We would certainly stay there again.

Popped in for lunch and had the most delicious meal in the gardens behind the hotel. Incredible attention to detail with the personal service and presentation of food. Highly recommend if you are in Tetbury, a real hidden gem on the high street. Will definitely be back for the fish and chip supper and any other events they are having. Thanks to the Saturday lunch time wait staff, they were simply excellent.

My husband and I had been to The Close before and had a really lovely stay, so we decided to return to celebrate our Ruby Wedding.|As previously everything about the hotel was first class, the room, the staff, and of course the food. When we had our desserts, they gave us an extra one, which congratulated us on our anniversary - nice touch.|When we were away the weather was very hot, so it was great to see so many people eating, drinking in and around the gardens, lovely atmosphere. |Would definitely recommend, not the cheapest, but as they say you get what you pay for.

Probably the best hotel experience I’ve ever had (and I travel a lot!) Myself & my sister took our Gran here for a trip (following losing our grandad) and wanted it to be really special & it literally went above and beyond any of our expectations. The staff seemed genuinely happy to be there and nothing was too much for them. The property itself is beautiful, it’s situated in the main area of Tetbury and easy to walk to everything. Once you walk through the building it has beautiful large gardens with deckchairs and a water fountain, where we spent the afternoon relaxing after exploring. All the wait staff were checking if we needed anything (without being annoying)! We also ate dinner there that night and the restaurant again was amazing! Our server was so helpful and offered recommendations and was chatty - the decor is also so nice and I loved the dog themed art work that was displayed around the hotel. The room and bed was also amazing - the bed was insanely comfy and the bathroom decor was soooo nice! The shower was easy to use (my 94 year old gran even said she found it easy!) the breakfast the next morning was delicious too! There’s a buffet of cold items and then also you can order hot things too! The manager (I think it was) was such a nice man and he went out of his way to help us when we needed a taxi to highgrove. I cannot thank the staff enough or recommend this hotel enough! Thank you!!!

After staying at The Close for a wedding some 8 years ago, I go back as often as I can. I now live only 25 minutes away so eat there and sit in the restful garden as I did on Saturday. The staff are so professional yet friendly. I could see some new team members were being trained up to the exacting standards on Saturday. One of my favourite spots.

I can only judge the dining experience and was absolutely amazing ! The 3 course set menu has a very good price and the dishes were just marvellous! Delicious, fresh, good looking and the service also very friendly and attentive. The location is, obviously , dreamy especially outside .
