Absolutely brilliant restaurant. We got h to r prices fixe lunch and every course was delicious. The white onion soup and the stone bass were particularly noteworthy although we’d order everything again. The restaurant areas are well designed into cozy distinctive areas. Service was wonderful.

We loved our overnight stay here. Beautiful heritage building with attractive gardens. Good location in the centre of Tetbury and handy for Highgrove and Westonbirt Arboretum. We had a great room (Jubilee) on the top floor - spacious, quiet, well decorated, pretty quiet, and very comfortable. Helpful staff. There's no lift, but our bag was carried up for us, so it wasn't an issue. We chose to have dinner at the hotel, which was absolutely delicious. It was a warm evening and so we had a drink in the garden first and then ate in the restaurant overlooking the garden. The brill and bream main course options were outstanding. Breakfast the following morning was equally good. Highly recommended.

Lovely, small hotel. Is in heart of the town but is quiet, with a lovely back garden. The restaurant food is also excellent. Staff very helpful with everything you need. One (7kw) ev charger in car park, but two faster ones a short walk away at a pub. A lovely night away and catered well to a baby (monitor reached from back third floor room to restaurant)

What a lovely lunch. The garden was beautiful ovely old building and a great setting. Cane for a coffee and stayed for well presented lunch! Varied menu. Lots of steps so not suitable for disabled. Clean, neat and tidy everywhere. Great service… polite and efficient, thoughtful and kind. Love this place. Will be back - especially as it has free parking!

We were in Tetbury browsing the Antique shops and stopped at The Close Hotel for lunch. My wife ordered the burger and I had the Sunday roast beef.|The food was delicious and the service impeccable. The hotel is taste fully decorated and it has a beautiful enclosed garden.|I would recommend The Close Hotel as a place to stay and enjoy great food.

Lovely food and gardens. Breakfast was nice also. I booked the last room available - a cosy double - and it was tiny and unbearably hot. We were provided with a fan after asking but it was quite ineffective and we had a terrible night's sleep.

Went here for my Dad's 80th birthday. Nice location and surroundings and we were looking forward to celebrating with a lovely meal. Menu looked good. Waitress came to take our drinks and food orders but didn't know the soup of the day or the drink we chose. Okay that's not a crime and not a problem. Starters came out and were nice, mackerel two ways and ham croquettes. Then things went downhill.....noone came to ask how our starter was or if we needed more drinks and we waited and waited.....having sat down at 130pm we were now still waiting for our plates to be cleared and our main courses at gone 245pm. My dad gets extremely tired and we were hoping to have finished by 3pm to take him home to rest. Eventually we managed to get someone's attention and another 10-15 minutes went by before the meals came out. No apology just a curt "We've been busy". Food was okay but nothing special, in fact the chicken was tough and the stonebass tasteless. When we'd finished I went up to the bar to pay, not wishing to wait again. The girl was unfriendly and poorly trained. Had no idea how to take off my deposit or about the fixed price menu and therefore charged me incorrectly and had to get the manager twice to sort the bill. No apologies just poorly trained staff with zero customer service. I didn't want to cause a fuss at the time as my parents were already a little upset. They had chosen the venue and it was supposed to be a celebration, however I am doing this review to make the establishment aware of our disappointment and to highlight the lack of staff training and care. I am seriously kicking myself for not removing the 12.5% service charge!!! We got 0% service.....would not recommend or rebook.

The food was exceptional, the setting lovely in the gardens, cannot fault this place! Had the sharing steak and it was incredible!! The prices are higher than some places nearby but it it exceptional quality, so you do mind paying a bit more when it’s that good!
