I am, quite literally, the target customer for this store. I was probably the first person in this morning and I chose not to buy anything immediately, but rather headed out west to look in some of the Indian shops for what I needed. That was a disappointing experience and I am glad, because I came back to The Cloth Shop and found the fabrics I needed at good prices. I also discovered the most beautiful woven cotton tapes which I have never seen anywhere else before. The staff are patient, friendly, and kind, and I had a lovely time shopping here.

I noticed a review saying the fabric is overpriced here . I work with fabric a lot and it is actually very well priced compared to the norm. The shop provides a lovely curated selection catered to all types of needs and the staff are helpful and informative.

Lovely shop and lovely people. Great range, hard not to spend money if you come in! They sell a linen in a range of fab colours which comes in the perfect width to make a tablecloth. Just get it cut to length and hem it. Don’t miss the remainders in the back room.

Yelp
One visit: 2.5/5 The cloth shop is small but stuffed with fabrics. I just wanted a simple off-white cotton and the owner helped me find something suitable. She cut me a generous metre and the price was low so I was very pleased. The HUGE disadvantage: they keep a dog - INSIDE the shop. I don't mind dogs, but I am incredibly annoyed that I am now picking black dog hairs from my fabric. Many people have dog allergies, so it is not only unprofessional but inconsiderate to allow the cloths to be contaminated with dog hair. I am not sure whether I will use the Cloth Shop again due to this dog hair issue, which is a real shame as it is local and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful.

Yelp
This is a great resource for your fabric needs - and then some. Not only does this shop - which has been around for 15 years - sell a wide range of special linens by the meter, they also stock stacks of blankets and other fabric furnishings. There are antique welsh, alpaca and gorgeous baby blankets alongside indian silk shawls and lambswool, cashmere and merino wool throws. Their Hungarian grain/flour sacks - in lovely chunky textured linen - and sets of antique linen tea towels always catch my eye.

Yelp
Ive been a customer of the The Cloth Shop for nearly 10 years now since my mum introduced me to shop. Its pretty amazing as well as just being nice to just walk around and look. The only thing i can think of that is doesn't stock is silk, it has a few, but it is mainly cottons and linens. It is mainly upholstery and curtaining fabrics, but it does have a decent fashion collection, as the owner tells me every time i go that that is where his heart lies but he just cant make a living on it anymore. Its Price range is very fair. Nearly all the the fabrics are under £20 per metre and the price range is really decent and affordable. I advise anyone to take a visit to the shop. as once you go you'll be hooked. The Swedish Linen and all the old antique bits are particularly nice. Its alot more than a fabric shop. As well as this the staff are all really friendly and very helpful and knowledgable. If they cant help you they know someone who can. Also, i feel compelled to defend the dog! She's lovely! and i've never once had to pull black hairs off a fabrics (and i buy alot of white) she is very well trained!
