"The Coastal Settlement feels like a well-kept secret within the eastern district of Changi. The former military barracks is decorated with vintage furnishings that create a retro, 1960s Singapore vibe. Diners also have the option of dining alfresco in the lovely garden. The menu consists of a rotation of plates that highlight both western and Asian influences. The signature dish is Wagyu Cubes: pan-seared Wagyu beef with mushroom salsa and mesclun salad tossed in TCS’s secret Japanese dressing."

We had our wedding reception here and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The venue has a peaceful, calm atmosphere—perfect for a small and intimate wedding. The staff were all incredibly professional and friendly, and the food was top-notch. Everything was beautifully handled from start to finish. Highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for a charming and stress-free wedding venue.

The place has a country side vibes, very cozy and comfortable environment to chill. It’s a lovely place for pet owners to dine. They have friendly service staff and good food. Pizza is really nice and the milkshake is delicious! Glenn was the DJ, from Fridays to Sundays, playing lovely oldies with his unique style of singing along with tunes. One of the rare dining places in Singapore with such vibes.

It was far from central Singapore, but granted, if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The food was okay, but the place looked amazing—a nice place to chill out. It's not a typical sterile Deco, but more nostalgic.

Pet Friendly Cafe (Outdoor) Used to come here a long time ago, glad that it is still a nice and cozy place except for the mosquito 🦟🫣 And it can be quite hot if you are sitting outside I remember I used to like their 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 and their 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗳 𝗣𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮 so I had to get it! But sadly the fries we can't taste much of the truffes, for the pizza I decided to order half half, so the other half we had the 𝗟𝗼𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗻 but it was sad la, I didn't know they use the lobster salad type of paste that if you go to Japanese restaurant I will order kind 😅 The beef and mushroom were not bad, can skip the latter. Also had the 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽𝘆 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗶𝘁 which I enjoyed. Overall nice place, friendly services as well. ✨Wild Mushroom Soup $16++ ✨Octopus Salad $26++ ✨Truffle Fries $16++ ✨Crispy Whitebait $19++ ✨H&H Lobster Prawn/Beef $36++ ✨Mocha $7++ ✨White Muscato Tea $8++

Not the first time there, but the food last week was disappointing. The seafood boat was not hot and we waited close to an hour for this dish. The vongole was served pretty fast and tasty. The good thing about the place is pet friendly.

Google
Secluded place with cozy chill ambience. You might be able to spot some oriental pied hornbills if you are seat outside. Do take note that the kitchen operates from 9am even though the establishment is open at 8.30am on Saturday & Sunday. The pull pork Benedict serve with croissant is a bit too sweet. But the smashed avocado & Eggs is mouthwatering. Food & Coffee quality can be improved.

Google
A beautiful restaurant in the middle of a slightly secluded spot of Singapore (far from the madding crowd!). Is in the middle of greenery and has a very vintage look and feel to it. Is a pleasant walk down memory lane for old timers and a curiosity for the newer generation. Has very good variety of non vegetarian food and very limited choices for vegetarians (who don’t have mushrooms). Pleasant experience and photogenic place.

Wonderful weekday lunch. The drinks and food were nicely presented. Drinks were a pleasure to sip on as you soaked in the atmosphere. We enjoyed steak and onion rings. It was a pleasant meal.

Yelp
The bar has good live music but bar service is bad and wait staff rude. The bartender will only make what's on the menu for drinks and wait staff has no desire to be helpful

Yelp
This is a gem! From the outside you wouldn't think such a beautiful restaurant was hidden. Gives me country side feels and the food was so good. Would give it five stars but I received the wrong meal and the drinks took a while to come out. Well worth the wait.

Yelp
A restaurant with a difference. Some of you would have used some of the fixtures in your youth. Food is ok but the venue makes up for it. Nestled among the verdant greenery of Changi Village it's smells fresh. Great way to spend a lazy Sunday morning. #maneklady #manekeats

Yelp
I really like Coastal Settlement. I love the open room. I love the fact the owners have taken such care in gathering all the knick-knacks that are found throughout the space (inside and outside). It must have taken an amazing amount of time and money. There are so many restaurants that have cookie cutter ambiances or are simply basic and functional. This is a room oozing with simple charm. I've been here twice for lunch. Each time, I've dined with colleagues. Both times, service has been excellent. The server was attentive, polite, and professional. As for the food, most of the dishes I've had were above average. On my first trip, I tried the Fish n Chips. In Singapore, I've had fish n chips in numerous places. For me, thus far, Coastal Settlement slightly edges out Smith's (a dedicated fish n chips shop). The portion is pretty generous also. http://tinyurl.com/8kbhszf On my second trip, I had the prosciutto and arugula pizza. I really enjoyed this. The arugula was very fresh and you can't go wrong with prosciutto. The crust had a nice crispiness to it. My only complaint was there was a little too much olive oil on the pizza. http://tinyurl.com/8zpydjy Their fried calamari is quite good. There isn't any hint off a rubbery texture. The breading is nice and flavorful while allowing the delicate flavor of the squid to come through. The presentation is clean and neat. http://tinyurl.com/8aplvpt I also tried the chicken wings. This is the only dish that has fallen short. They simply did not stand out. http://tinyurl.com/8vwcrng The burger was a very popular item with colleagues. They certainly enjoyed it and I plan to give it a try. It looks like a filling lunch. http://tinyurl.com/9b5j8kd (note: i've been back. tried the burger. really enjoyed it. asked for medium rare, they cooked it medium rare) It is a bit out of the way for us. But, we are still willing to make the trip from Changi Business Park for lunch. Great ambiance, an observant staff, a varied menu, and quality food. This is a step up from our usual lunches. (in other reviews, i noticed price mentioned. for what they offer, i do not feel they are overpriced. there has been a lot of care with the ambiance. they carry a full staff who are well trained and provide professional friendly service, the food is prepared and presented well and is made from fresh quality ingredients.)

Yelp
Awesome location. Looks like I'm heading into a night safari and suddenly out pops a restaurant. And a damn good restaurant I might add. Based on the recommendations, I ordered the truffle fries, a pizza: we chose the half and half and went with the wagyu beef and garlic prawn. We also ordered a pot of mussel and clams. Not disappointed. Its expensive but the food is great. I haven't had food like this in ages..... The truffle fries came good and crispy with an accompanying dip. My highlight of the day was the pizza... It wasn't just the toppings...it was the cheese man. Its all about the cheese. Oozing and soft and with the right balance of dough...I should've just had the magherita... The wagyu beef and mushrooms was awesome...and filling! I recommend sharing...if you want to that is. The pot of clams and mussels were a pleasant surprise. Weren't...fishy? Is that the word to describe it and of course, no sand. I always hated biting into a piece of sand... Anywho The only spoilers was a lone fruit fly hovering around my clams and pizza plus being hassled by the service staff to order fast and to quickly get our orders moving because they're closing......at 9.20pm So yeah. Overall food awesome. Setting awesome....great music too.

Yelp
The food was so-so. The prices are quite high considering this place is in the middle of nowhere. Then again, if you come here you probably drove and so can afford it. The wagyu beef pizza was not bad: the beef was quite tender (even if less than what I expect from wagyu - then again since even Mos Burger can give you Wagyu Beef that name doesn't mean anything nowadays). The Five Cheese pizza was okay. The pizza in general has a really thin crust - your mileage may vary. The portobello fries were interesting, even if the name was misleading - they're cut like wedges, and rather more moist than fries should be. Not quite enough truffle mayo was served with them. The Nasi Lemak was bad. The chicken was flavorless and greasy with a weird stringy batter. The rice lacked taste and the sambal was flat. The prawns were okay but seemingly not seasoned. The sole saving grace was the ikan bilis which was quite crispy and very large. Come here for the ambiance (won't rave about it as I don't go for that kinda stuff), or if you want to bring dogs: it's very dog-friendly - but not for the food (or price).

Yelp
Farewell meals are one of the toughest meals to plan cos of the many considerations especially so when it's for a group due to the varied taste, budget and opinions. Gotta say that The Coastal Settlement is an ideal place for such a group occasion on a weekday lunch not only cos the ambiance is great, there are varied choices of food (western, local) and fits the budget of the slightly tight pocket peeps ($15ish main course) to those who don't mind indulging a little bit more ($20-$35ish main course). It was a rainy afternoon when we got there, but the rain didn't dampen our spirits. The teeny bit of inconvenience caused from having to run from the car park to the entrance was rewarded with a nicely decorated vintage restaurant where different corners presented varied surprises. The food taste great (I ordered the cheese burger) and the desserts were a fantastic complement to round off the farewell with a touch of delicate sweetness (try the Salted Caramel Cheesecake or the Brownie with ice Cream). The overall experience is superb cos every spot in the restaurant is a great photo op, it's a really nice place to chill and the food is good. If you are one of those who enjoy the hidden theme restaurants at various nooks and crannies in Bangkok, you'll like The Coastal Settlement. However, do be warned cos a friend did mention that the place could get really crowded on weekends. With live music, hard concrete walls and glass panels that surround the space, noise may be an issue.

Yelp
Restaurant is located a bit "remote". Entering the nice garden with lots of parking space in front, you will be welcome from one of the friendly care taking waiters. A very inspiring architecture and decoration with old motor-scooter and other stuff is inviting you for a relaxed dinner (crazy; they are selling these oldschool Casio LCD watches - I like!) We have had a good selection of starters all over the menue; pizza and calamari dipper were a bit too much oily for my perspective. The home made cheese burger was one of the biggest (and most pricy - 29 S$) I have aten; home made patty was very thick and a lil bit too chewy, missing a good sauce... The Angus Steak was perfect, the big fried potatoe-/onion croquette again oily. Ribs were gorgous. I liked the service and good selection of drinks they have, but the food was not fully meeting my expectations...

Yelp
Came here one afternoon... on a weekday. There wasn't a huge crowd in the restaurant, probably due to the visit being on a weekday afternoon and the remote location of this restaurant (I'm not sure how many people would travel all the way to Changi end for food). The food served was a-ok. It was not particularly memorable but nothing bad that I could recall. Normally, I would have let it passed, but, unfortunately, I do expect a little more for it's (high) price (then again, no one really travel all the way to Changi end for food, right?). The restaurant, rightfully, was remembered more for it's decor. Filled with vintage pieces from the 1950s to 1980s, it had a sort of nostalgic charm to it. Some of the vintage pieces had a little tag attached to it that explain what it was meant to be (probably there to help the Gen Y or the Milliennials).

Yelp
The place has a really neat, industrial atmosphere-- sort of like an old factory from 1920's America-- and most of my friends enjoyed their food, but I wasn't as impressed. My Smiley Eggs Benedict took a long time to arrive and when I received them, I appreciated the cute presentation--but was ultimately disappointed with the taste. I know that poached eggs are really difficult to make, but mine were overcooked and a bit dry, and there definitely wasn't enough Hollandaise sauce. And the ham also tasted sort of stale. We shared an arugula, Parmesan and prosciutto pizza-- which was pretty good, if not for the thin and overly crispy crust. But I haven't really found good pizza anywhere in Singapore, so that wasn't a big shock. Overall, the place is decent-- but not sure if it's worth the long trek out to the east...

Yelp
Second visit to this place. Food is hit and miss. The beef pizza took forever to come (suspect they forgot) and my friend didn't finish it. Another friend got the fish and chips and proclaimed it nothing special. The xo prawn pasta looked delicious but tasted average as well. The burger was huge and came with thick steak fries. Was pretty good according to my husband. I got the roast chicken. Half a chicken with a delicious sweet glaze. Thankfully the chicken was really well done. Moist and juicy. The coleslaw was average but the vegetables were a welcome refreshing respite. Portion is big for a small eater. I managed to wallop the entire platter but definitely overate. Appetizers were truffle fries (disappointing without a whiff of truffle) and portabello mushroom fries (good!) and nachos (average).

Yelp
Tucked in the outskirts of Changi, opposite the famous "haunted" Old Changi Hospital, is this little gem. Having a meal there is a trip down memory lane with its hard wood floors and retro decoration. Nothing says homely like this restaurant. Even better, the service is excellent. And for those who prefer a little alfresco dining, you too can have your dinner under the starry skies. Food there is slightly on the pricey side, but well worth it. They serve western foods that range from pastas, to burgers, to steaks or even truffle fries. All of which are fantastic. A special dish to look out for is the Portobello fries, which is one of the best out there.

Yelp
Three visits, all in the evening, and I sat outside every time - to take advantage of the evening breeze, my friends said, as I imagined a tiny, stuffy interior. My fourth visit roils around, and its a Sunday afternoon. We try to escape the blaze by asking for a table inside, though I already cringe from the thought of other similarly sweaty people and their lovely fragrances, as I pick up a menu. I look up as I step past the doors, and WAH LAU EH. It's quite a stunner. Almost cavernous, the interior stretches a good long way back, and I could've sworn it could fit 150 people, easy. But you'll have to check with them before you try okay? Space aside, it's got the kitschy mismatched-furniture charm, and the randomly placed antiques are kinda cool, though I was wondering if they served any purpose other than trying to up the "I'm so painfully cool from all the vintage stuff I have lying around" factor. Food is on the pricey side, with breakfasty options averaging $20+, and a serve of truffle fries going for $15. Those were good though - we had to get seconds. They've got a solid drinks list too, and towers of Kronenbourg at the ready. I've had some tasty ciders too. Parking is a pain though, but for a seat inside, I just might risk it.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem in singapore away from the usual crowds. Super spacious indoor and outdoor setting with nature at its best. Definitely suggest for a family outing over the weekend.

Yelp
I was brought to this place as a surprise by my friend. It gives me a heartwarming feeling when i arrived.Seeing many old school decoration reminds me of my childhood days. Love the display of vespa scooter and old BMW model. Really interesting concept of decoration. Wondering the owner must have put in alot of effort, time and money to turn this over to such an awesome place. The food is abit pricy. But it is definitely a good place to chill out with friends. Try their Char-grilled Wagyu Beef and Mushroom. The steak was really nicely cook. Love the Paris Eiffel beer tower. Look really unique and special. For those who drive up here, it may be a bit challenging to find a lot here.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place. What I like is that it's almost kinda hidden - so it's not that commercial-ish, it's got a great entrance - very Survivor-like, with fire lamps. There's a great indoor and outdoor seating area - where a kids station is set up too. The decor is pretty great! Very vintage, historical, and the display of vintage cars other general objects from the past gives the place quite a bit of character. There's a good vibe and the staff are friendly. What I Love: The food is greattttt!! Gotta try their Truffle Fries and Wagu Beef Burger. Very yummy. Portions are huge - so everything can be shared. The steak's yummy too. Their concept is pretty interesting - there's local, international and fusion food as well.

Yelp
Though other well known cafes and restaurants boast about having the best truffle fries in Singapore, the real award goes to the ever so modest Coastal Settlement. The truffle fries are the best thing on the menu, and are the first thing I order every visit I make. The fries are thin cut, and fried to a golden crisp, lightly drizzled in truffle oil, they have the best texture and flavour in truffle fries that I have ever tasted. It's a must if you ever visit! Our family loves The Coastal Settlement and have become regulars after discovering it a few years ago. One of the reasons why we love it is because of the laid back ambience, as well as the vintage music and decoration. However, we tend to go back to Coastal because it's one of the few places we can bring our dog to! All in all, it's a wonderful place with some wonderful truffle fries. 10/10

Yelp
Had a lunch here last year, back when I was all "what is Yelp?" Took away two stars because it was 1)pricey with small portions 2) did not accomplish what slightly lower priced establishments such as Drury Lane and The Plain did.... (Aka make me come back). On the bright side, the garden is awesome for a quick shoot (if you don't mind humidity and bugs) and the mac and cheese was pretty acceptable. The service was unmemorable... So..... Meh?

Yelp
The biggest challenge of course would be getting to this place, practically at the far Eastern end of Singapore along Netheravon road, which is a good long drive along Loyang avenue itself. It's not hard to find though, with pretty visible signage and fairly near the main road. It's a surprisingly large place, filled wtih antiques and old bricabrac as decoration so it's oddly charming and homey at the same time. Quietish on the weekdays, but it's a popular brunch place on the weekends. Food wise, the truffle fries are awesome, as is the really thick, ice-cream like chocolate milkshake that I had (chocolate sauce on the bottom, mmhhmm). The Mac and Cheese was pretty creamy, I enjoyed the steak and fries, and you can't really go wrong with any of the Breakfast Sets with egg. Overall a nice chill-out place, I can see why it's popular on the weekends, but if you want a quieter time, try going on a weekday. Explore the outside area where there's a playground clearing of sorts which is part junkyard with strange old toy furniture lying around, but makes for interesting/bizarre photographs. Changi Coastal boardwalk is also fairly nearby for those who want to work off their food!

Yelp
Finally came here after wanting to for the past 2 years. I've been dissuaded by its location - it's in the FAR east and I don't have a car! But with those 2 problems solved... :) The restaurant was easy enough to find (with GPS) and parking was not too difficult. We were here on a saturday afternoon with no reservation. The place is pretty big with indoor and outdoor seating options. Outdoors it's really tranquil (you're overlooking a jungle, it's easy to feel like you're not in Singapore anymore) but given the crazy heat + humidity + mosquitoes at this time of the year, indoor it was! There was a couple in front of us in the queue but we managed to get our seats in about 10 minutes. We had a pretty big table (could probably seat 5) to ourselves on high chairs (there's the normal chairs and sofa chair options available too). Menu was interesting, not exactly cheap (about $20-30s for a main) but reasonable. We had the much raved-about wagyu beef and mushrooms pizza split with a 4 cheese pizza and a burger. The 4 cheese pizza was good! Didn't look like much but the cheese was tangy and flavourful. They're thin crust pizzas though - something to take note of before you order. The pizza was smaller than expected but surprisingly filling. I had a strawberry milkshake ($6), which was one of the better milkshakes I had. It was really rich and creamy (quote bf: "like meiji's version but creamier") and I loved every drop of it! Loved the interior decor, I didn't walk around closely but there were (vintage-y) details everywhere. From lots of vespas and bicycles and vinyl records to the walls to display cabinets with knick-knacks like old typewriters and even ???lego pieces to ????gold clubs and rackets mounted to the ceiling to ??????cupboards of varying sizes and designs lining one end of the restaurant, it was very quirky but somehow managed to go together. The toilets were also clean and big! Another plus point!

Yelp
I'm quite undecided about this place. It's in a remote, desolate surrounding, which I find charming. But 'find' is the key word here, since its in such an ulu location you'd literally have to find the place. Inside is an eclectic mix of salvaged furniture, again adding to the old world charm. But of course everyone comes for the food, which is good, if not well-cooked ordinary fare. But they pride themselves on the freshness of the food, and you can tell the freshness from the taste. The prices, however? Their cheese burger was big and sumptuous, but $29 (if you add a fried egg), just a little too steep on my pocket. One redeeming grace, though, must be the coffee, best in the Changi Village end of the world, in my view. Yes I'll be back, but next time, only if I know the other party is paying!

Yelp
This is a great little hideout away from everything. Great for a gathering or family meal but be warned! You definitely need to drive there and hope for a parking lot. Also, because it's in quite a forest-y area, expect some flies and all that if you happen to sit outside. I see many people complaining about the prices but let's be honest, the portions justify the prices here. They are BIG portions so please don't over order because you are gonna end up wasting food! Food quality was decent. But overall I agree with most, a hit & miss experience. Overall most of the menu offers pretty typical food and there is nothing super special that you can order for this place but it's basically decent food in a very very unique atmosphere. The atmosphere is undeniably unique. Filled with antiques plastered all over the walls and ceilings and so on. A really great place to bring the parents actually. Don't over think it. This place is simple, pretty nice to chill and great to just hang out and have a meal.

Yelp
Love that it is a hidden spot all the way in the east. Love that the space is so huge with lots of quirky knick-knacks. Love that it is surrounded by greenery. Love free parking! Dislike the horrible drinks they serve there. Stick to just beer next time. After the horrid cocktails, haven't had the guts to go for the food yet.

Yelp
The Coastal Settlement is a new dining space hidden behind Hendon Camp and just opposite the old Changi Hospital. We have run down this road several times before and it's a really quiet place. Nice to see some new developments in the area. Suppose the rent is really cheap because a space like that at Dempsey or Town would cost a bomb. I like that it has lotsa outdoor space for chilling out. Pretty much like Skyve but more old fashioned. The alfresco seating at the back and around the restaurant as shown in the picture below. TCS really need to do something about the mosquitoes though. Just walking from the nearby carpark down this path and to the entrance, i was planted with 4 big kisses and they kept me occupied the entire evening. The 50cent sized bites are still swollen now. Slap on the repellant and enjoy the nature outdoors, it's quite relaxing when you are not scratching like a monkey. The space is really interesting. I was overwhelmed by the different sights and contrasting textures- Steel columns, shelves and bars against exposed brick walls. The somewhat industrial look is softened by plush cushions on wooden frames and one feels comfortable whiling the day away. And it's perfectly fine because there is simply so much space! The first thing that caught my eye was the main display of an eclectic mix of old furniture, memorabilia from the old days, flipping blocks, metal pots and potties.. There are also 4 Vespas sitting on the shelves! TCS is a great place for hanging out with friends and you can tell that by their table arrangements. How so? Most of the tables are huge with chairs for groups of at least 4 and more. There are bar seats, dining seats, round tables, rectangle tables, stools seating, sofa seating and so on. No matter the size of the group and regardless of your seating preference, you'll find something that fits here. I love how they section the restaurant into different areas. This feels more like a pub with bar stools. A live band was playing when i was there during the weekend. Old melodies and soulful singing by a group of uncles. They are not fantastic but somehow it's very atmospheric. Now onto the food. For starters we had the Portobello fries (S$14). It's a bread crumbled Portobello slices served with a truffle mayonnaise. Sounds good? It tastes even better than truffle fries because of the added moisture from the mushroom. Add a little of that homemade chili and the dish is even more perfect. There's a selection of Chinese main courses like Beef Horfun, Char Kway Teow, Nasi Lemak and Crayfish Laksa? That was alongside English dishes such as Rib eye with Rosti, Roasted Chicken and Fish and Chips. If i wanted Chinese i would have gone to Changi Village. Anyways.. we ordered the Char grilled Wagyu Beef and Mushroom pizza (S$23). Nicely grilled juicy chunks of beef slices with sweet caramelized onion, sauteed mushrooms on a white wine reduction cream sauce and baked with Mozzarella and Cheddar cheese. Each mouthful was an explosion of tastes. The sweetness of the onion, smokiness of the beef and saltiness from the cheese give the dish a multitude of sensations. Even though it's a thin crust, it's not the same as the crispy Skinny pizza cracker sort. This has more bite to it and you would have to chew a bit. This is really heavenly! A meal is never complete without desserts and the waffles blew our minds (S$14). The presentation is really pretty and once again it delighted our tastebuds. Light, crispy and salty waffles (yes salty. Very nice though!), fresh creme with sweet banana and raspberries (they ran out of strawberries) and maple syrup with a side of bitter sweet dark chocolate ice cream with a thinly sliced biscotti, cookie crumbs and dark chocolate. I was just grinning and nodding my head the whole time. This is definitely my new favorite Eastie hangout apart from Lots. No more traveling to PS cafe for desserts anymore (unless i'm in town). I hope they don't close shop anytime soon because it is indeed quite out of the way. Please support them because the food is really good and i wanna continue hanging out here! :)) They have All Day Breakfast too! I'm so going back! Comes highly recommended by me (if that means something. haha.)

Yelp
A great spot to chill in the east if you aren't too spooked by the 'haunted' hospital across the road. Its fairly breezy and the coffee here is good, which I found surprising. The teas are from TWG and aren't too bad either. Food wise, it's really okay but I find it overpriced. There's plenty of parking nearby and best of all, plenty of room to smoke.

Yelp
I can understand why this is a popular spot because they have a great set-up with lush environs and they've done a great job with the interiors. Evidently run by vintage-lovers, the décor is tastefully retro and includes, amongst others, old school bicycles and vinyl players. The large space has also allowed them to create distinct dining areas, from the casual outdoor seating in the garden, to the more comfy cushioned options in one section of the building. However, the food and drinks selection is not impressive at all, especially not for the prices they expect people to pay. The fish and chips and nasi lemak that we had were bland, but yet we had to pay premium prices for both dishes. In the end, I guess we were paying for the ambience, not a quality meal. Visit for the general atmosphere and décor if you want, but be prepared to be disappointed by the food. The kitsch beer towers shaped like the Eiffel tower could also be a draw if you're into that sort of quirky detail.

Yelp
Located just across the infamous Old Changi Hospital, one might expect The Coastal Settlement to be a spooky place. Thankfully, its nothing like that. The owners have done a tremendous job of converting the place into an inviting and comfortable place with both indoor and outdoor dining options. Though it's near the sea, the winds aren't really strong to mess up your food should you dine outdoors, but cool enough to ensure you don't perspire needlessly. The menu looks decent, though I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Basically, we went there for the coffee and it was surprisingly good. Yelp
For such a big cafe / restaurant area, the management should really have thought about providing more parking spaces. Tucked away in a rather 'uloo' part of Changi, I don't think customers have the option of not driving to this place - and even on a Sunday afternoon, we had to wait about 10-15 mins for a parking space where the restaurant was only 20% full. I would hate to imagine looking for parking here on a busy saturday night! Wasn't really impressed with the service either. As mentioned, I went for a coffee around 3.30pm on a sunday afternoon, and we were told that all of the couches near the windows were booked for dinner and so they couldn't give us a space there. So there were easily 5, 6 empty tables but they refused to give it to us. After some discussion, where we had to give our word that we would be out by 6.30, although we had told them from the start that we were just here for a quick coffee, we were allowed to sit down. The strangest thing however, was that after sitting down we realised it was incredibly uncomfortable, so we decided to move to the normal dinner tables, and were again told the same thing! That we had to vacate etc etc because they were booked for dinner. Like seriously?! It seemed that the ENTIRE place was booked for dinner and no where was available for us to sit for a coffee - so why bother open for coffee in the afternoon in the first place??! Very very strange.

Yelp
Fascinating location in a nature-garden setting with many seating options inside and out. Extensive menu usually well executed. Pasta, sandwiches are good and desserts are delicious. Small playground outside for kids.

Yelp
Came to have a visit because of my friend's recommendation and found it myself that everything was an exaggeration. There is nothing unique in this place (architecture perse) it certainly looks like a renovated junkshop cum garage house dining concept to me. A lot of the so called ala antique homesque concept are far better than this place. The staffs here are not happy providing service like yes majority of them acted as if you owe them something! Nothing was special on this place however they serve a very nice poached eggs and truffles fries to be very fair with them. Other than that I wouldn't recommend this place for anything special. The place was even far to find. You really have to settle with the driver's GPS! :-)

Yelp
We were invited to jin some friends for dinner last night and frankly didn't realise what a trek it would be - wow, it seemed like almost the end of Earth lol. With that said, it was worth and trip and we enjoyed the atmosphere and food and thought the service was great. We are two families with three littles so opted to sit outside which was very pleasant - there are fans that kept the area cool and we didn't worry about noise. Several tables around us even had their dogs with them (at around 730 PM on a Saturday night. Impressed me as a family-friendly place. The food was good good although not outstanding. I had a pretty good spinach salad (pretty hard to ruin) but my Wife thought the fish and chips were a bit greasy. Nothing on the menu is cheap but not overpriced either. It $14 for a good sized salad and $26 for a good sized plate of fish and chips. The beers were reasonable too. A Friend had the rib eye rosti which he raved about so maybe the beef dishes are the way to go (and I am basing that too on some of the other reviews which I sadly didn't read before going as it was a last minute call). All in all, I would go back for the ambience, the location and service (which I thought was quite good) and give the food another shot. If you go with a family, walk around the side and there are two nice family swings which the kids enjoyed while waiting for the food

Yelp
This place reminds me of a lot of the modern American cuisine restaurants in California. Casual and a little quirky, but with a obvious attention to the craft and the quality. The pizza was great, but you have to like a very thin, crispy crust. I particularly liked the 4 cheese, because it has a provolone flavor that reminds me of St. Louis-style pizza. I'm going to have to try the cheeseburger on my next trip. That was a very impressive-looking tower of goodness.

Yelp
So far. So so. I had the local fare which was not spicy enough and too sweet. Maybe the western food a better bet?

Yelp
The setting is very unique (with cars, scooters, and antiques covering all the walls and roof), but the service and food weren't very impressive. We had a party of 7, and all our plates came out at different times. The first person to receive their food was nearly finished before my curry dish arrived.

Yelp
The great: Ambience. The surrounding is very nice, lush greenery and cosy. The OK: Food. Decent try but really nothing special. Prices are also a bit high.

Yelp
My kids love it here, staff are friendly and the place is really different :) My kids love the setting and the pasta. Prices are okay too, I love the truffle fries. The only thing is that the beef steak is that great, well, I guess cos they are not a steak house. Other than that, everything else is superb! Will definitely come back..

Yelp
The food is ok but the service is very poor. They should employ some service oriented staff like Phillipinos. My 13 year old son's order was missed out completely, they apologized- too late, too little. The table numbering system seems non existent. They gave my son's order to someone else.

Yelp
Excellent Ambience for Outside or Inside sitting. Great place for brunch / lunch / afternoon tea. Drinks options are plenty and very kids-friendly. Excellent choice for a relaxing weekend brunch. homemade lemon barley and lemon tea are winners!
