Cute little joint in a cute little town. Service was great, barista helped me choose between two flavors and she was spot on. I got the pistachio rose and my wife got the iced chai with honey. I loved mine, wife didn’t care for hers but I liked it. Glad we stopped by.

I stopped in a couple of times while in Taos. I really wanted to try their Ethiopian as a pour over but they had none to try. I asked if they could, if I bought a bag of beans and they said no. The pour over I ended up with was very good but not an Ethiopian . :(. I went back for a latte and it was great!

Google
My husband and I stopped here during our road trip. The place is really cute and they give a discount if you bring your own cup! We had a cappuccino and a pistachio rose oat milk latte, they were both delightful! There's also a bakery/lunch spot next door that we went to after. Really reasonably priced, we got both our drinks for 13$.

To be fair, we stopped in for a coffee to go. The experience was pleasant enough for a crowded coffee shop. I had the Tres leches latte and ordered it because it was so unique. It did not disappoint. Nice flavors not too sweet. My daughter ordered lavender latte with honey and it also was delightful.

Google
This place is super consistent. They get my order exactly the same every time and I like that they let me add my own cream and sugar. Parking is accessible and even if the line is long you are in and out of there pretty quickly.

Google
I loved this coffeeshop! I was pleasantly surprised to find out they had a vegan burrito made with tofu scramble—was absolutely delicious and filling. Their coffees were great too! The mole mocha was less sweet than the el tigre mocha, and I preferred that. The place is always full of locals meeting up and having conversations, such a lovely environment. The two baristas were also very kind and great at their job.

Google
The service was incredibly slow! It took over 15 minutes to even place our orders with only 2 groups in front of us in line. The guy working the register kept leaving to do other things and treated his job more like a social outing than a professional job. Add to this there was a guy with a baby goat in the coffee shop. Sure, it's cute, but this is a sanitary issue. The coffee was ok, at best, and given all the other issues, this place deserves a 2 star rating at best.

Google
Amazing local place with a chill, cozy vibe. We ordered a large chai latte, a small mushroom chai, and a large mushroom elixir tea, but unfortunately they charged us for a large mushroom chai. However I think this mix up was probably my fault because I changed my mind after we put in my original large chai latte order. The cashier did immediately try to switch my drink though. Overall, this café is adorable, the drinks were delicious, and the employees are wonderful so I’d totally go back!

Yelp
I wanted a quick coffee and noticed this place near our hotel. Glad I stopped. It had a comfortable ambience inside which I took a mental note of for another time since I needed to take my coffee to-go that day. I ordered El Tigre Mocha (with oatmilk) made from espresso, dark chocolate, and fresh orange extract. I must say it was as good as it sounds. Just the right amount of sweetness for my taste. There are several interesting things on the menu: Bischocito Latte and Raspberry Hibiscus herbal tea, for example. I like that the barista took the time to create a heart design on top of my coffee. And I also like that the location is right nextdoor to a bakery.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised to find this little coffee shop on my road trip. It's a cute spot with unique lattes you won't find anywhere else, a nice relaxing space to sit and chill for a while, and friendly baristas. If you're in the Taos area, it's a must.

Yelp
We tried five different coffee shops on our recent stay in Taos. This visit was on our way out and did not disappoint! Super clean and welcoming inside, serving up great drinks. I personally love a strong and bold espresso drink. I ordered a standard 12 oz drink that was good from their specialty menu. I wanted an extra shot but was told I had to order two, as they are pulled in pairs. I should have gone for it so I could really taste the flavor of their espresso beans.

Yelp
What an adorable place! I overheard the guy behind the counter patiently and sweetly take his time explaining cold brew to an inquiring patron, what service! It made me order the cold brew and it did not disappoint. Next time we're hiking/backpacking in the area, we will visit again!

Yelp
Great coffee, people, and service. You'll find me here every morning from here on out.

Yelp
First of all, I love the clever name of this establishment. These people know how to make coffee and their prices are reasonable. The fellow who took our order was friendly and accommodating although the barista was a little snappy when we asked for nondairy milk. I wish these places would keep out the nondairy milk alongside the half and half. Prepare for the fact that you might not get a seat inside the coffee shop. It's small and pokey and single customers take up tables meant for four people.

Yelp
Best coffee i have had in long time. will always revisit when in town. service was quick and place had great vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
Really wanted to support this place. Not the Taos vibe one would expect and is used to from other local establishments. The dude with the Tude and snotty chick were a perfect match and example of how NOT to treat customers. Just a pure icky vibe...and they were more interested in talking to each other. Yuk. Cold brew was bitter and burnt although the drip coffee was reportedly good by my other half. This place is overrated. Service sucks. Bummer. Won't be back.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Love the tres leche latte. I'm glad I found this little place in Taos. I rather support a local place than a big chain coffee shop.
google avatar

Kenneth T.

Yelp
Coffee Apothecary and Roasters offers amazing coffee and a cozy place to hang or work. Really nice espresso roast with a nice crème and not-too-acidic flavor. Really one of the nicest coffee shops I have been to anywhere. They also have a few select treats from the Bread Club Nextdoor. See my other review on Bread Club. Pro tip. Go here at 7:50...then walk next door to Brad club for your breakfast!!!
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Great service, great coffee. A nice place to take a break and refuel. Next to a bakery.
google avatar

Dave R.

Yelp
This is an interesting bakery. One offering was an italian croissant (I forget the name) with a chocolate frangipane filling. They had other items to choose from that had interesting flavor combinations. No a big place, but a quality one!
google avatar

Sona T.

Yelp
Wow.. just wow. The tres leches latte will now forever be my standard for lattes. I don't know how I'm going to drink another latte ever again without comparing to the perfect flavor of this one! I feel a little ridiculous typing this out but it was SO GOOD.

Hannah M.

Yelp
A really nice place for a morning coffee! The coffee is good, the pastries are super yummy and the ambiance is good. I love the way the sunlight comes into the cafe in the mornings and you can sit at a bar right in the window. The place is always filled with people but in a good way. They don't have full meals/a kitchen if that is what you are looking for. They also don't have super free syrup options, but that is just a me problem!

Yelp
We stopped here on our way out of town and the coffee was fantastic. I had the honey lavender latte and it was incredibly well balanced and delicious. The service was excellent as well! Highly recommend!

Holly M.

Yelp
Cute spot with plenty of seating. Friendly service. Great coffee--really enjoyed High Road brew.

Gary ..

Yelp
Great little coffee shop. Had a matcha latte which was really good and a mushroom latte - also really good!

Michelle H.

Yelp
The honey lavender latte was amazing, and they have oat milk! I am sold. I am going back tomorrow.

Yelp
Lemmie just start by telling you I'm a coffee snob because when you've had the best coffee - going back to burnt, shoddy drinks isn't worth it. Especially when going out to a cafe costs boucop bucks. I order coffee beans from New Orleans for example, and now it looks like I'm adding to the roster Coffee Apothecary. To the owners, can you please consider selling the syrups online? I've had a selection now: rose, anise, cinnamon, and most of all the lavender. None are too over the top in your face. Florals are difficult to do, without tasting soapy. They were all good, but lavender that's the prize right there if you can only go once. Get that in and ice latte, and thank me later. Also, I saw posts about rude staff. Check yourself, is it your attitude? I went a ton of times, very clearly a tourist (I travel in a motorhome). Never a problem, in fact it's always been polite. It's a small town, the vibe is on a slower pace and be honest with yourself, are you going places expecting them to be like home? So slow down ... and enjoy.

Yelp
We went looking for a sit down place to have breakfast so the nice lady at the bakery recommended a few places. The place she recommended was so good so we wanted to go back to the bakery to thank her and buy something but they were unfortunately already closed. We were so appreciative that she helped us and we are definitely going to go back if we are ever in taos again.

Katie T.

Yelp
Best latte ever!!! The tigre had dark chocolate and orange and was so delicious. Staff was lovely and decent seating options. The perfect spot!
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Such an amazing local gem. The person who helped us was so friendly and kind. We tried the peanut butter cookies that were baked by the owner's mother and agreed it was the best peanut butter cookie we had ever had. We ordered a less sweet mocha and a vanilla latte and they were delicious and perfect! Absolutely much try this place.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
My friend got the tea and here are his thoughts about it. "The tea had perfect classic flavor. It wasn't bitter but also not super sweet. Really just the perfect inbetween." I got an iced latte with 1% milk. They have a lot of other choices for milk which is great but I panicked in the moment and got the most basic bland boring type of milk. (Don't make my mistake.) They are only serving to go service during the pandemic right now. The barista was super nice and also wore a mask.

Yelp
Coffee was very good and the lady taking the orders was kind but slightly slow(no fault of her own, she was the only employee working). Kind of a bummer that it is carry-out only due to coronavirus because the inside looked very cool. Definitely give this spot a try when you're looking for a solid cup of coffee in Taos!
google avatar

Yelp
Unassuming local coffee shop on the outskirts of Taos' main drag. The building is hard to miss if you're not looking for the coffee flag waving. The sign is hard to read from the road. Inside the building is rustic: an unstained wooden counter, wooden tables and and chairs, wooden bar around the window for additional seating. There are little tchotchkes decorating the wooden ceiling beams and light fixtures and succulents along the windows. Coffee Apothecary has their own roaster on site and lots of different options for boutique coffee orders. They also have some cute swag for sale. We stopped in on our way out to go hiking - loved the coffee and had a very short wait.

Yelp
The best latte in Taos! Not only was the espresso smooth but the taste is bold and delicious. The barista at the counter was so personable and funny, just an all around great experience. Not to mention her latte art was top notch. If you are looking for a place to work in town that is a quiet calming environment with lots of seating- look no further. Couldn't recommend it more. Definitely going to be coming back here.
google avatar

Yelp
Apple turnover? Check. Super chill vibe? Check. Easy parking? Also check. Coffee was really good, and wanted to stay for more! Just really good, great place to chill and focus.
google avatar

Yelp
Another weird Taos place. Any positive reviews here must be from weird Taos people. The server or whatever you should call her, was self righteous and rude for no reason. How do rude people become service industry front liners? I won't return. Food and drink were fine. But service and layout, parking and attitudes will steer me away for good. Lame.
google avatar

Jeanie M.

Yelp
The shop is spotless and really attractive. There's indoor seating, which may or may not be available, because this place seems very popular. I tried sitting at the tall tables but the stools felt too short so that wasn't comfortable. The regular tables were perfect, though. There was a line which took a while, but that wasn't a problem for me. Someone in a rush might not feel that way. There were some baked goods--mini pies, empanadas, muffins and biscotti. I stuck with caffeine. I got a chocolate latte. It was fine...just okay. Others in the shop seemed to enjoy their drinks. The cashier/barista was polite, but I wouldn't say friendly. There's parking, which is a godsend in Taos. You can get 25 cents off your drink if you bring in a clean mug to use!
google avatar

Edward O.

Yelp
Amazing latte! Nina was such a pleasant barista and knew exactly how to make what I described! She told me a little about the home made flavored syrups... WOW! You can taste the difference, this isn't your typical cup of coffee folks. Well worth the 5-10 minute wait in line. I loved it so much, I returned the next day and Nina recognized me (with mask on!) and remembered exactly what I ordered. Thank you for an awesome latte!

Yelp
BEST CAPPUCCINO IN ALL OF NEW MEXICO!!!! Seriously! I'm a super coffee nerd who's been coming to NM for decades. Cloudcroft, Truth or Consequences, Sante Fe, Taos, Angel Fire and the rest of the ski mountains. I love this place, but well roasted, carefully brewed coffee is not one of its strong suits. Until now! :))) THE COFFEE APOTHECARY hits the spot and is the perfect little local shop! They roast their own beans on what looks like a cute, gorgeous, little SF-10 San Franciscan Roaster (handmade in the US!) They care about the brewing process, and while I was there, greeted nearly every person by name, knew their milk preference, and welcomed new visitors with patience and sincerity. I don't wanna leave this little slice of heaven! THIS is now a MUST HAVE stop when I'm in northern NM!! If you want a great coffee, from wonderful, delightful, friendly people, you have to stop at The Coffee Apothecary!

Mary Ellen C.

Yelp
Fun energy, very popular place so don't expect to sit even if there is parking. Good coffee!
google avatar

Yelp
You have to love this coffee shop / roaster. The crew is super friendly in the most genuine kind of way, the coffee is high quality, and the environment, even though it's take-out-only for now because of COVID, is warm and feels like a community. I also appreciate how they seem to really look out for their crew when it comes to COVID safety.
google avatar

Liz O.

Yelp
Great coffee; worth the (considerable!!) wait. Not their fault - this pesky pandemic just slows everything down. No indoor seating yet but order at the window for best coffee in Taos!
google avatar

Shelley M.

Yelp
Best cappuccino I've had in months. I'm picky about them and have lived a lot of years in the Bay area and other parts of the world where coffee is great. Perfect blend of creaminess with the oat milk and a tad of house made vanilla syrup. Appreciate the insistence on masks, the nice crowd that comes here, and the kick-ass baristas.
google avatar

Sabrina B.

Yelp
Awesome lattes and baked goods! Love the vanilla and lavender latte and scones. Great staff!
google avatar

Mannie S.

Yelp
I love to visit local specialty coffee shop wherever I go. Was very happy to see this place strive, and filled with locals. Many great coffee shops in many cities have hard time competing with the chains, which is sad. I got a skim mocha instead of my regular skim latte because I was scared by the bitterness of the espresso from the two coffee shops in Santa Fe. Figure I would play safe. Should have gotten the latte though. The espresso in my mocha was hidden under the hot chocolate taste. And no, the espresso here is not bitter like the ones in Santa Fe.
google avatar

Shannon B.

Yelp
This place is clean, yet lacks vibe. Feels like it belongs in a city... not Taos. AND they do not carry Soy milk? Weird. Anyway... not impressed.
google avatar

Ang B.

Yelp
Not a huge fan, the cup of coffee and espresso that we had were so dark that we had that Starbucks burnt taste in our mouths for a long time. That being said, that has a place for some people and I get it, it just wasn't what I was expecting for a place with so many stars. I'm sure it's a great spot to hang out, it looked really chill but we came in covid times.

Hannah W.

Yelp
I definitely go out of my way to seek out a good third wave coffee shop everywhere I go, so I'm glad we found this gem! Wasn't open inside due to covid but the walk up window worked just fine. Tasty espresso drinks for sure! 1 star comes off because I'm super picky about my alt milk & they were using grocery store generic coconut & oat- as a barista myself I know how much of a difference a barista specific alt milk makes. Once they get some Oatly or Califia Barista in there, nothing can stop them!!
google avatar

Sam G.

Yelp
If you wanna see where all the kids in Taos that dress in all black are (shout out to my comrades in attire), this is the spot. Feels like a cross-over between a great local hang out spot and one of those cloned-but-nifty-hip-cafes that are all over major cities in the US. Service, as some have mentioned in their reviews, is hit or miss. With the class you get the sass? I don't drink coffee anymore so I can't speak to that. But I am over-the-moon about their Turmeric-ginger-something-something elixir latte and their myriad of alternative milk options. They also have a decent selection of tea.
google avatar

Gillian F.

Yelp
A great place for a cup of coffee or tea located in a great spot if you're planning on traveling north. Super cozy, awesome and friendly staff, and delicious coffee, all with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're looking to get some work done in a beautiful space full of natural light and wonderful drinks.
google avatar

Alison T.

Yelp
5-star coffee. Oat milk latte was superb and the way it should be: the right amount of milk, not too hot and not too cold. Professional service, they follow COVID masking protocols, and everything was clean and nice. I see why they got "Best of Taos"!
google avatar

Darlene P.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop with a great vibe! I'm all about their goal to go zero waste! Tried their iced matcha with coconut milk and it doesn't disappoint.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Cool place! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the best iced latte I've had in a long while. The atmosphere is quaint and comfortable, and if I come back to Taos, we'll return!
google avatar

Whitnie O.

Yelp
Stopped in while waiting for my husband who was mountain biking. Great little spot in Toas!! Staff were fast and friendly! Got a latte and it was Delicious, the espresso was just right!! Atmosphere was also cute and quaint!! Will go back when next in Toas!!
google avatar

Belle E.

Yelp
Great coffee and specialty drinks! Would definitely recommend for the unique flavors and low prices.
google avatar

Jill B.

Yelp
Came twice during my short stay as my drink was so refreshing and unique. I got iced lavender honey tea. I added some of their homemade lavender syrup. What a light refreshing treat in the warmth of summer. This is also caffeine free for those that need that. My dad also enjoyed it even though he is an avid coffee drinker. #supportlocalbusiness

Yelp
Great atmosphere and service. I got a cappuccino, it was really good. I am not sure if you can put a design on top of a cappuccino, but I didn't get one. Darn... haha Nice spot
