Do I love Coffee Bean? Generally, yes. Do I love the Northridge location? ...MEH.
Here's the thing: customer service has improved, and the manager I see most often, Kevin, is a gracious host! He introduces himself to the regulars, makes everyone feel included, and seems like a nice guy. And the drinks they make are good, if not always consistent.
My problem goes back to the same thing that was problematic 4 years ago - the app will not allow you to add on almond milk to an iced Americano, so you have to add the request in the comment field of the order. Nine times out of 10, it's fine. But depending on who's working, the staff will withhold your drink, as if you were trying to cheat the store out of $.80... Which is ridiculous.
In today's episode of "I promise I'm not a liar, your app does NOT allow me to add on milk to an iced drink," I went so far as to show the baristas at the pickup counter on my phone. One of them saw I was right immediately and backed me up. The other begrudgingly accepted our testimony and said she would "tell them." ...Who is 'them?' Corporate? The web developer/app designers?? Kevin??? IDK. But the assumption that I, as a regular customer, am trying to pull a fast one on a big coffee chain is honestly insulting and I wish they would stop this.
