COFFEEEEE and other things! My favorite part was FOR SURE the inside seating area and the beautiful lighting that highlighted the paintings, wood features, and plants that made it feel like home! Had a cool selection of treats and coffees that are pretty solid! Would highly recommend to stop by if you are running around downtown and need a quick cheaper snack!

Google
The staff here are genuinely friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better. The pour over coffee was spot on—rich, smooth, and clearly made with care. I also really enjoyed the food; everything tasted fresh and satisfying. The vibe of the place is relaxed and welcoming, definitely somewhere I see myself coming back to.

Google
Traveling through springfield, we found this gem of a coffee/breakfast place. The shop has a modern vibe, the staff were informative and friendly, and the food/coffee was wonderful! We got the avocado toast (perfection), seasonal salad (so good), cortado and the banana foster latte (amazing)! We got the banana chocolate chip espresso muffin, a strawberry banana smoothie w/plant protein and an americano to go. Everything was delicious! Worth the stop, even if you are just driving through on I44!

Google
Great local coffee shop! My wife and I enjoyed the White Chocolate pistachio and Cortado!

Google
Not quite what I expected. From first impressions the asthetic flet like it was trying to hard. The barista seemed a bit disinterested and it was difficult to find seating aside from a spot in a hidden closet feeling space with a dirty table. I ordered a latte with in-house brown sugar syrup and oat milk. It seemed almost flat and more like a tea than an espresso. Missing the warmth, attention to detail and richness of the Nashville coffee scene.

Google
This is my favorite coffee in Springfield! I love that everything is made fresh in-house, and they are always so creative with their seasonal drinks. The pastries are amazing and always taste fresh and homemade which I appreciate. The atmosphere is great - wouldn't recommend for a big crowd, but for just a couple people or going by yourself to get work done it's perfect. The workers are always helpful and quick with putting out orders.

Google
I had such a wonderful experience at The Coffee Ethic! I ordered a rosemary latte and was thoroughly enjoying the vibe and my drink—until my clumsiness kicked in, and I accidentally spilled it everywhere. I was so embarrassed, but the staff was absolutely amazing. They immediately came over to help me clean my laptop and accessories, even though the spill was completely my fault. To top it off, they made me a new latte without hesitation. Rem, in particular, was so kind and understanding. Their customer service and kindness deserve a 10/10. Highly recommend this place!

Google
PROs: Good location. Industrial and earthy along with local art decor. Clean and organized establishment. Food and coffee presented well. Coffee is great, the avocado toast was wonderful. Friendly staff and service. Pets are welcome inside. CONs: Street parking only. 30 minute parking on the square.

Yelp
I always make a point of visiting The Coffee Ethic when in Springfield. I love the space and location and their drinks are top notch. Add in great staff and you can't go wrong with a visit here.

Yelp
Housekeeping: their menu has some great light options, but the kitchen closes at 1. The signs do request that you purchase something before using the bathroom and that you only stay 2 hours. Now that's out of the way. Unfortunately when I arrived, I REALLY had to go to the bathroom. I found it very clean. As disappointed as I was to not get the chance to try their avocado toast, I did very much enjoy my peanut butter cookie and cortado. My favorite part was sparkling water coming out with my cortado, I'm not sure who's idea this was, but this is what they do in Tucuman, Argentina.

Yelp
I ran in to get coffee and something to eat for breakfast before we left Springfield to head back home. The vibe was nice and chill - very neat, clean, and cool. Three guys weee behind the counter and they were all friendly and pleasant. The lattes were really good! And the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was great. It was not just open some cellophane and pop it in a microwave! We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

Yelp
Absolutely charming coffee shop located right in downtown Springfield. We were traveling through and i always look up local coffee shops to grab a drink and go. The girls working the counter were very welcoming and attentive! Their coffee is absolutely phenomenal i already looked up their website and realize you can order their coffee! I got pumpkin spice muffins for my kids to go and the girls bagged them separately for me. If i was local i would be a regular here easily. They also had no bake cookies, fresh scones and made to order avocado toast etc available.

Yelp
This coffee shop sits on the Historic Town Square, Springfield, MO. It is at site where Wild Bill Hickock was in a gunfight, and killed a beautiful young man. The coffee shop has a quiet, studious atmosphere. My latte was mild and soothing - just the way I like it.

Yelp
Came into town for a motorcycle ride. When I'm in a new place I'm always on the hunt for a gooood coffee shop. I typically judge by their americanos. I'm happy to say that The Coffee Ethic has an excellent iced americano. I was also in the mood for food Luckily they have a chocolate banana Espresso muffin. Absolutely delightful. Lots of seating. Nothing too comfy like a couch, but the chairs we sat in were great. Really modern and clean vibe. Great music and not too loud. I feel like the music matters a lot for the vibe of a coffee shop. Overall a great coffee shop to visit while you're in Springfield. Get your booty down to The Coffee Ethic.

Yelp
I *love* this place. The atmosphere is bright and airy and the employees exude positive energy. I only started coming a couple weeks ago to do work and one of the baristas already knows my name. The seasonal drinks are SO good. Even the combos you think will be weird are somehow spectacular. My only wish is that they were open later than 5pm on weekdays. I would've loved to enjoy this place for working during the winter after 5pm.

Yelp
I've been here a few times, it has been ok. Today however, was horrible. The people working act as if they are doing you a favor . No, I'm not a Karen, I, I'm not mean. What I am is a woman whom ordered oatmeal. The oatmeal came with a mound of butter in the middle which was not mentioned on the menu description. When it was served to me, I told them I could not have butter. The server rolled his eyes, and responded "what if it's vegan butter?" I apologized, said if you could spoon it out and he quipped we have to HAVE TO remake it." When he came out with the replacement I apologized again, he ignored me and walked away. WHILE I was APOLOGETICALLY speaking. This place is cool to sit at, the energy is inconsistent at best however I could put up with it bc if the ambiance. But today, no. Whomever owns this- you should be ashamed for your employee, maybe consider training g them to be kind. To the server whom I inconvenienced: I'm sorry I'm going through chemo and you had to add boiled water to oats and abstain from adding butter. I wanted the oats to stay down and the texture does not work for my tummy. You have no right to treat people like crap. People pay to receive their food and drink. We should not have to pay to be treated like crap. And for Pete's sake, add jam to your menu.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee shops in Springfield. I love this place. Their coffee, baked goods, and breakfast items are delicious. I hope to someday come for a cocktail.

Yelp
I own three coffee shops in Orange County when I visit Springfield, Missouri this is the spot exceptional Coffee, exceptional service, Michelle, the owner could not be nicer and welcoming! And they actually know how to make a flat white in the appropriate sized cup!

Yelp
They were out of kombucha :/ This lavender latte was good af though.... Gets 10/10 lemons in my book

Yelp
Definitely one of the best coffee shops in the area. We don't come by that often but we are always on the lookout for coffee shops wherever we go. This space is amazing, open, airy and has interesting interior design. The counter has an interesting shape to it and there is a coffee roaster (?) on display. Of course I got chai latte, this is my favorite, and the blend of spices that they use.. really tasted different and strong! I leaned over to tell my husband that this might be one of the best chai lattes that I've ever tasted?! There's non caffinated drinks here as well for the kiddos. One got an italian soda and the other hot chocolate. Both were very happy with their selection of treats as well, a scone (to die for). The espresso muffin was also very delicious. I appreciated the care that the staff took to wipe down the tables and the door and handles. A++ for cleanliness!

Yelp
The Coffee Ethic is one of the top choices in Springfield MO. Why did I say that? This is what happened. We saw tons of good reviews on Yelps so we decided to give it a try. They are under major construction, so we got a lavender latte to go. The latte is so delicious that we finished it in less than five minutes. So we go back immediately to grab another one, and order a bag of their Ethiopian beans so we can brew some at home as well. And they gave me a drip coffee to go for FREE because I bought a bag of bean. That's pretty cool! They have a few outdoor seatings, I guess if I had more time, I would slow down and chill for a bit, probably bring my dog with me as well. We have been doing pour over with their Ethiopian beans for a couple of days now, it's been great. The coffee is light roasted so you know it has to be in good quality.

Yelp
This place is hip, modern, and super fabulous. We stopped in for a quick brew on a friends recommendation and WOW we were blown away by the experience. The staff was cute and helpful, the mood was all over the walls and brewed right into the coffee. If you like what you drink, buy a bag of coffee beans to go! You can even ask staff to make the beans to grounds for you... they will accommodate!! Will visit again

Yelp
The ambiance was nice. Friendly and helpful baristas. I got the cold brew on nitro and my wife got their summer solstice (cold brew coffee with ginger beer). The cold brew nitro wasn't the best tasting cold brew I've had, but it was still very satisfying. The nitro was well done, very smooth and frothy. Many places really mess this up, but Coffee Ethic did it right! The summer solstice on the other hand, we were not a fan. I can see how some people might enjoy it, but in our opinion it was a mixing of two good things that shouldn't be mixed. It tasted mostly like ginger beer with a hint of coffee aftertaste. Not our favorite. I would come back for the cold brew on nitro though!

Yelp
When I'm in town for work I like to stop by here for some downtime. The staff is always helpful and the coffee is strong. It's a pretty quiet place to put in the ear buds and send out a few emails. It's also a good place for a small business meeting.

Isaac H.

Yelp
Mediocre coffee at best. The shop aspires to reflect the ambiance of the greats like Onyx Coffee Labs, but leaves out a critical point. A good cup of joe. A classic case of lean on the aesthetic & experience so no one will notice our lack of product quality.

Yelp
Passing through town and mapped to Dunkin and this as listed as Dunkin Doughnuts (vs Donuts.) even though it was punked, I was very delighted by the outcome. Great coffee, cute place, decent price.

Yelp
My favorite coffee spot in Springfield! Located in Park Central Square, The Coffee Ethic is in the heart of downtown. The Coffee Ethic roasts high quality, single-origin beans on site and offers beers and seasonal wine as well as pastries! I went here every morning during my trip to Springfield and ordered their simple 12 oz drip house blend coffee. The atmosphere is great for catching up with a friend, reading a book, or studying/working. It was never too busy or loud any time I went (which was usually between 9 am and noon). P.S. The Coffee Ethic is a business that has implemented processes/products to be environmentally-friendly! I admire this because I make an effort to purchase from environmentally-conscious businesses before anything else :)

Haley J.

Yelp
Best Coffee in Springfield! I love the ambience of the cafe. The staff is also very friendly.

Yelp
Looked for a local shop with a good rating and this place was hundreds above the next one in line so we stopped in. Great selection of cold and hot drinks. I ordered a hot SF Vanilla Latte and my wife ordered an Iced SF Vanilla latte. Both drinks were very good. If your in the general area Coffee Ethic is worth the stop.
google avatar

Yelp
Hipsters brew fantastic coffee, and I found them in Springfield at the Coffee Ethic. Also, it also serves as a popular study spot for Missouri State students. They roast their own beans and serve no BS-coffee. In other words, don't expect cream, syrups, or other sugary additives on your drinks there. I had an Americano, two shots of espresso and hot water, and I loved it. It was wake-my-tired-ass-up bold, not too bitter, and gave off a fantastic aroma. Did I grow chest hair? Possibly... For food, they offer, pastries oats, trail mix, and yogurt. With the exception of the pastries, if you love to eat clean, this is your spot. My coffee arrived pipping hot, and I didn't receive any eye rolls. Other things to note: -Lots of natural light here, so your Instagram photos will be on point. -Love the large wooden tables. -Their space sits in the middle of Downtown by a popular square. -Fair prices. Check out The Coffee Ethic, for yourself.

Yelp
My cortado was well done, smooth. However, my wife's mocha was not warm enough and the chocolate chip walnut cookie that I ordered was not baked through.

Yelp
Great coffee great energy! Friendly staff, convenient location. Got an americano both times I stopped by, shots were great. Thanks guys!

Yelp
The biggest thing I need from a coffee shop is a good cup of cold brew, and The Coffee Ethic provided just what I needed to kickstart my Monday morning. The remedy cold brew blend was smooth with hints of chocolate. The space was very open and bright. A few tables outside looking out to Park Central Square. Grab a cup of coffee and a baked good here and then go explore the cute little shops around the downtown area!

Yelp
Awesome, awesome, awesome! Pumpkin Spice Latte was 100%. Natural flavors and not overwhelming. It's an expensive cup of coffee but it's worth it. Aesthetically pleasing all around. Filled with a modern crowd. Definitely a place for great conversation and even better coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
Was riding the bike and decided to pop in. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile, but just never found myself on foot around the square. The ambiance is very modern, and casual. Not lots of places to sit, but I'm sure if the weather was nice I'd be outside anyway. Ordered a cold coffee from a polite barista, and took my coffee to the prep table... Man why doesn't everyone have stevia yet?!!! I was pleasantly surprised by the robust flavor, not as strong as Starbucks, but not as light as Eurasia. The coffee had a nice rich blend of the two. By no means am I an expert; I just know Starbucks tastes burnt to me. An okay price not the cheapest or most expensive. Would definitely go again to set outside and enjoy a brew, also had no idea they sold beer!
google avatar

Callie R.

Yelp
Only coffee shop downtown with outdoor seating, delicious coffee, hip vibe and delicious treats. Plus they have booze! Can't beat The Coffee Ethic for a coffee date or study session. I personally love sitting outside listening to the fountain and people watching while I'm knocking work out. Downsides: It can be busy but that's because it's awesome here. Also, they only have vanilla sugar free syrup if that's what you're into like me.
google avatar

Kayla H.

Yelp
We were in town visiting and decided to Yelp a few coffee shops. We tried The Coffee Ethic and liked it so much we didn't try any others! We came several times during our visit. The interior is lovely. The location is great. The coffee and snacks are delicious. The service was very, very good each time. The lattes were perfect. My brother thought the nitro coffee was "not just the best nitro coffee, but the best coffee period" that he'd ever had. On our last visit, they had FRESH chocolate chip muffins. They were amazing. We highly recommend this café.
google avatar

Dominik D.

Yelp
It was a reasonably nice, aesthetically oriented establishment with a good tasting cappuccino. I barely interacted with the wait staff so I can't make much of a statement on that.
google avatar

Jordann H.

Yelp
I'm a simple coffee lover and a good latte is all I need and if that's you then look no further. The coffee ethic puts their passion into their coffee and it shows. Their caramel iced latte is my absolute favorite but any drink they make is incredible. They also have many snacks and pastries and have a great outdoor area!

E M.

Yelp
A fantastic restaurant. Great food you don't find anywhere else with vegetarian options. Wonderful location and wonderful vibe to the place as well.

Yelp
Having tried all the coffee shops that Kansas City had to offer, this coffee fanatic decided to was time to try out a new city's espresso. I chose 3 coffee shops to visit in Springfield and The Coffee Ethic was my first stop and also my favorite stop. The song "Runaway Train" was playing as I walked in, a soothing classic. I ordered a small latte for here. The guy behind me asked a lot of basic questions, and the barista answered them all patiently and correctly. I loved all the wooden tables and exposed brick throughout the shop. A sign read that they serve PT's coffee that was the 2009 roaster of the year. My latte had a rosetta in the foam and tasted perfectly smooth. Not bitter in the least, it was a perfect latte. What impressed me the most was that the barista checked up on all her tables like a waitress, asking her patrons if they needed another glass of water or she would clear their dishes away for them. The Coffee Ethic: You were my favorite coffee shop in Springfield.

Noel R.

Yelp
We ordered the hot latte and coffee both were incredible and smooth nice flavor not bitter oh and the protein balls are amazing!! I love traveling and finding amazing coffee you will jot be disappointed!!

Yelp
Great coffee! We bought beans for the house and some prepared drinks. Latte for my wife and a coffee for me. Both were very good.
google avatar

Virginia C.

Yelp
Fantastic spot on the corner of the town center/loop with wifi. It is bright, modern, lots of nice people, plenty of tables, and good coffee. They don't have entree food, but have plenty of bake goods and some other local snacks. Come here for the coffee, tea, and a local beer flight.
google avatar

Natalie B.

Yelp
Very yummy coffee and cute space but not much seating outside. Their nitro latte was very delicious and I'd order it again! Dog friendly on patio
google avatar

Dan G.

Yelp
Does not disappoint!! Location is great: theater/downtown area seems posed for a breakthrough, with a number of trendy/young evening stops. Ambience is excellent, upscale casual: professional, intellectual and artistic. The Coffee was...THE BEST! This place goes on my personal list of Best Coffee Houses in the US (alongside Klatch, Intelligentsia, Madcap, Handlebar and few others). I had a Guatemalan pour-over. It came in a mug on a wooden tray, with glass carafe holding the rest of the pour, and a printed card describing the bean, the region (with map), the farm and farm owner. I like my coffees with milk, but this coffee was perfect black: strong but not too..., smooth, balanced and slightly bright. Just perfect! Wife had oat milk latte, thrilled with the flavor (and the breath of lactose free options). We sat outside in the warm June sun, and shared a chocolate chip cookie-scone (something new to me, and even better than it sounds).
google avatar

Yelp
the Latte is very good! I love it ! I like latte without serger or syrup so this place have the best latte in Springfield in my opinion.
google avatar

Gabrielle E.

Yelp
I always recommend coffee ethic to people. It's in the square and very easy to find and the drinks are wonderful. All the employees are friendly, and the coffee shop vibes are on point.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
The coffee is delicious. And the place over all is very clean and kind of a hipster atmosphere in an old downtown store front. The service was ok. Drinks were made quickly and properly. Definitely would go back! It's not far from the donut shop, Hurts Donuts too!!!!
google avatar

Shelbi S.

Yelp
The Coffee Ethic has a great vibe, strong internet, and approachable barista. The baked goods (I actually did a no bake cookie) are made in house and the healthy protein bars are from a cool place in Kansas City. Coffee in my thermos was literally like $2. 10/10 would recommend.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
Hip and Nice Downtown Patio but... Too much acidity in the espresso due to the size of their pour combined to their roasting technique. I got served a double espresso in a demitasse cup. Not everyone drink ristretto poured espressos, like not everyone eat rare burgers. Roast slightly longer and darker & ask guests how they like their coffee poured. Nice looking spot, but nothing "ethic" about the coffee and its service. There's better coffee drinking spots in Springfield!
google avatar

Matt E.

Yelp
Fan-frickin-tastic. Ever since I started traveling for work to Springfield on the regular, it seems that the Queen City finds another establishment to impress me. Well, The Coffee Ethic absolutely blows my mind. This is a top tier coffee shop, Springfield or otherwise. You'd be wise to check it out. First of all and most importantly, they pour an incredibly high quality product that they're knowledgeable about to boot! Whether you want a pour-over or an espresso drink, they've got you covered. It looks like they're currently serving beans from PT's Coffee out of Topeka, KS. Learn that name, coffee geeks. You'll be hearing it a lot more in the future. Oh, and they have beer, wine and liquor, if that's how you'd prefer to start your day. The atmosphere is on point. I absolutely love their coffee bar, with its Frank Gehry-esque facade made of curved dark woods. Table options range from private spots for one to larger spots for meetings spaces, and even communal tables with reclaimed wood beams as seats. With great lighting (a mix of natural and store-bought) and brick walls, this place is like a sexy sexy loft that happens to sell great coffee. As I write the review, I go back and forth on the music. Sometimes it's great. Currently being played? Spin Doctors, which isn't even good ironically. But, that's why Jesus gave us headphones, right? Still, I can't help but think that a consistently solid music program would make this place the abso-frickin-lutely best coffee shop on the planet. I approve.

Yelp
The chocolate cappuccino is perfect for anyone who loves really rich chocolate. The barista was very nice & quick. The atmosphere was aesthetically pleasing. I highly recommend!

Yelp
I am not originally from Springfield, but I attended college there and one of my favorite places in Springfield is The Coffee Ethic. Prior to living in SGF I was not big into coffee but a friend invited me along to go to The Ethic with him. One of the BEST decisions of my life! The mocha is excellent but my fave is the regular house coffee. It's cheap yet exquisite. The Coffee Ethic is my first stop whenever I visit Springfield. I am addicted.
google avatar

Yelp
I happened to be downtown this afternoon, pondering whether to go for coffee or beer. In the end, I decided that I could drink beer at home, but had no way of making coffee for myself. So I headed to the Coffee Ethic, about which I had heard good things on #SGF twitter. I was impressed when I got there by the nice open space, the assortment of comfortable chairs mixed with tables, and the walkway through to the Park Central Branch of the Greene County Library next door. The prices were about what I would expect for a coffee and espresso place. I ordered my old standby, a 12 oz mocha, and when the barista brought it out to me it was so pretty I almost didn't want to drink it! I've never been confronted with actual milk-foam art before. It was a very tasty and gorgeous-looking mocha. My only complaint is that it was gone all too soon! Friendly staff, efficient service, good selection, easy connection to a library, three different open WiFi networks (their own, the library's, and downtown Springfield's)--I will definitely go back when I have the chance.

Yelp
No question about it, in Springfield, MO, Coffee Ethic is the best thing in town when it comes to the urban hipster vibe that used to be reserved for Portland, Oregon's Stumptown Coffee. Meeting Tom the owner, his ears perked up when he overheard me mentioning a little something reminding me of Stumptown Coffee in urban Southeast Portland. Apparently that was by design according to Tom. He drew inspiration from our Stumptown owners. I'm guessing like them, Tom may even be a recovering Evangelical or Pentecostal ;-) He created a slogan because of it-- "Springfield, the new Portland?" Don't think we can go quite that far in this Bible Belt Mecca, but when it comes to coffee, it's absolute truth. Ethic's coffee is smooth...and flavorfully full-bodied. PT Coffee is the local roaster. They are THE Coffee Bean Masters in Southwest Missouri. My coffee today was the outstanding- Ethic's House, PT's Old 93, a blend of Medium Roast Ethiopian Amarogayo and Sumatra Rhino. Of course there is free wifi, great art displays and warm space to work or converse with a friend. I will pilgrimage to Coffee Ethic anytime I am near Springfield. You should too!

Yelp
Nice people. Good beverages. Prices moderately-high but not outrageous. Chai latte is the best in town I think.
