I ended up at The Coffee Jar after wandering around Camden trying to wake myself up, and honestly I’m glad my feet dragged me there. It’s one of those cafés that looks almost too small to bother with, but once you step inside it’s got this warm, slightly cluttered charm that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into someone’s favourite local hangout.
I got a cappuccino, mostly because I couldn’t think straight enough to decide on anything else, and it turned out to be exactly what I needed — rich, foamy, and not overly bitter like some places that try too hard to be “specialty.” The smell of fresh pastries definitely didn’t help my self-control, so I caved and got a brownie, which was worth every crumb.
The staff were friendly in a relaxed, non-corporate way. You know when people talk to you like an actual human instead of reading from a script? That. A couple of regulars came in while I was sitting there, and you could tell it’s the kind of spot people return to without thinking about it.
It’s cozy, a bit tight on space, but honestly that just adds to the charm. Perfect for a quick caffeine fix or a quiet moment watching the world go by. Would happily swing by again.
