Me and my husband Brandon got married on October 17th 2025 and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue! Anthony our coordinator was amazing and kept great communication throughout the planning process. His team is amazing too! If you’re looking for a beautiful venue this place is a winner! Pricing is affordable and if you choose their in house catering they make amazing food! I can’t thank Anthony and his team enough for making our day so beautiful! If you’re thinking about the conservatory for your wedding go ahead and lock it in because you won’t be disappointed !

My husband and I had the most beautiful vow renewal here in May! The venue itself is gorgeous and we were able to come in and do very minimal set-up, which is exactly what we were looking for. We had so many compliments on the venue and everyone had an amazing time! Anthony was awesome, thorough, and even brought us our signature drinks as soon as we left the ceremony-a small touch that meant a lot! I’d book again in a heartbeat.

Literally could not have picked a better location for our reception than the Conservatory. The location downtown is very vibrant and chic, and you almost feel like you are walking into an upscale art gallery turned club when you enter through the front doors. The lighting created the perfect ambiance for romantic snapshots, the acoustics for the music were solid, and the whole vibe of the place was exactly what I was looking for: contemporary and elegant. Working with Anthony was an absolute blast. Everything looked precise and intentional when I arrived on my wedding day. I cannot fathom a better experience than what I had with the Conservatory.

If I could give 10 stars to The Conservatory and Anthony I would. I went into the wedding planning process knowing that I wanted an affordable venue in a great location, and that is exactly what we got with The Conservatory. Starting off with Anthony... I never planned to spend the money on a coordinator. I thought it was pretty extra and figured I could do it on my own. I quickly realized that hiring him would be 100% worth it, and IT WAS. If you book at The Conservatory, you can hire Anthony as a day of coordinator for an extremely discounted price. Except he didn't just help me the day of, he put tons of time and effort into planning my wedding for AN ENTIRE YEAR. He is so full of knowledge and expertise, has 25 years of experience in the industry, and is one to always keep it real with you. He has a strong personality and will tell you how it is, and that is exactly what you need in a wedding coordinator!!! I will forever recommend him to those planning weddings, because I truly could not have done it without him. Now onto the venue... Here's a list of the best parts: -Extremely affordable (1/4 of the cost of others in DSM) -Can hold a lot of people (our guest list was 250) -Prime location (1 block from AC Marriot, The Republic, and all the East Village bars) -Comes with tables, linens, chivalry chairs, lighting, chandeliers, drapes, cocktail tables, guest book/card box tables, dessert tables, easels for signs, etc. This saved us a TON and required very little decorating on our end -We were able to set up on a Tuesday before our Saturday wedding and didn't have to tear down until the Monday after the wedding. This is pretty much unheard of with most venues -We were able to hire any caterer and also made/brought our own cocktail hour snacks -No windows. This made for the perfect atmosphere!! We had a summer wedding, so it stays light until 9PM or later. Our dancefloor was packed full from 6:00pm until the wedding was over at 11:00pm. People feel weird dancing in the broad daylight when its super bright, but we didn't have this problem! Many people said it was the most fun they've had at a wedding and the longest time they've actually spent on the dancefloor! Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience. If you don't book with The Conservatory, at least consider hiring Anthony as your coordinator! I think he cared a lot more about making the day perfect than I did, which is amazing!! I could not recommend more.

What a beautiful venue! It has great artwork up and a cool industrial feel! It is in a prime location right in the heart of downtown Des Moines! If you are looking to have your wedding somewhere unique with access to activities nearby, don't look any further!

I own America's Music To Go and got the privilege of working with The Conservatory on a wedding. This is a great venue. The acoustics are great. The staff is top notch. Also the food was great. As a wedding vendor this will go into my favorite venues to play.

The Conservatory was an AMAZING venue to hold my wedding reception. It's so important to pick a venue that has a beautiful space but with service that makes the day go smoothly. I couldn't have imagined a better place to hold it. The manager, Anthony, was outstanding. While hiring other vendors in the Des Moines area, everyone...and I mean everyone.. knew of Anthony and had wonderful things to say about him. He was extremely helpful and positive throughout the whole process and never let one detail be missed. My wedding was the week of the Iowa Derecho and COVID (very stressful) but he stayed so positive and wasn't about to let my wedding be ruined. Last but not least.. Anthony's business partner, Sally Nong, was the florist and my flowers were absolutely breathtaking. Overall, I highly recommend holding your event at the Conservatory!!

Every bride needs an Anthony on their side. This man goes above and beyond to make your day as special as can be. My husband and I had the extreme pleasure of hiring Anthony and and the use of The Conservatory as our venue. It was beyond perfect and accommodating to what we had in mind. The venue is beautiful and well kept. There were no issues the entire time. The entire staff was so nice and professional. Thank you so much for making our wedding everything we could have hoped for and more. Will recommend to any couple looking for the perfect place for their day!
