The Constance By The Lenox Collection

We had the most awful stay at the Constance MA. Purely based on our experience of the hotel, would definitely NOT recommend them to you. We arrived at The Constance for a two night stay on Sunday 5&6th October. The room was small, clean and adequate for our stay. The facilities are basic but ok. The hotel has an old world character and charm. However, we had no help to take our luggage up three flights of very old stairs. We had a lot of luggage as we were traveling for 2 months. The staff told us it was not their responsibility to help us. There was not a fridge in the room for my husband's insulin, but we were promised one by the staff. It never arrived. So we were advised to use the customer fridge at the back of the self service bar. It was full of beer. So we were advised to use the kitchen fridge. We also put our beers and wine in the kitchen fridge as there was no other option. Customers were encouraged to enjoy the hotel with their own alcohol as there was no staff on duty and no bar service. There are no dining options and again customers are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks, if they want to. There was only a breakfast option offered to guests with snacks available on a help yourself basis. Michael on breakfast duty was lovely, polite and helpful. There was just one unhelpful person on reception. Staff morale seemed low and we didn't get a warm or hospitable service whilst staying. The beer and wine disappeared. We were told that a member of staff had thrown it away by accident. Either a resident or a member of staff had stolen our beers and wine. We were told we would receive a full refund for our stay because of the theft of our property, but we have as of the time of writing this review received NO refund from the hotel. Thankfully our super rep Stacey at Audley Travel (who organized our trip) has raised a refund from her company to cover the cost whilst they continue to battle it out with The Constance. It was not the best start to our holiday of a lifetime in New England. Please take care.

We visited Lenox for two nights on our annual leaf-peeping trip to New England. Logan greeted us warmly upon arrival, setting a welcoming tone. Our first night was at The Dewey, but it wasn’t the most restful due to the early morning chime of the church clock across the street, nearby traffic, and a lawn mower starting up at 7:00 a.m. I called Emily right away, and she kindly arranged for us to move to The Constance. I wish I had requested it from the start—it was spotless, quiet, and wonderfully comfortable. If I could make one small suggestion, it would be to add more outlets or charging options for technology, as older homes naturally have fewer. Otherwise, everything was lovely. We truly enjoyed the area and will definitely be back! 🍂

When we got to the Whitlock in Lenox we were greeted by the lovely cheery Amanda. Our room was great, clean and we came in to find a plethora of snacks on top of the refrigerator with a card from my boyfriend. It turns out he had called Amanda and she took the time to report all of his options . And brought them up to our room . It was above and beyond . I love that the hotel is right in town. The breakfast at the Constance was adequate . My only complaint was walking from the parking lot onto and into the property is on very uneven ground. Other than that I would stay again in a heartbeat!

We arrived and we (all of us including our dog) were warmly greeted by Amanda. She made us feel so comfortable and was a welcoming & kind bright spot during our stay. The inn is very lucky to have her! The location is great and walkable to everything Lenox has to offer. The room & linens are very clean and the bed comfortable. 8/28/25: Be sure to clarify any fees. I had inquired about pet fees when making the reservation as I couldn’t find anything about it on the website. I was informed that there was not a fee but then saw a charge on my card that was a bit of a surprise. I had reached out via email and did not receive any response. I was not trying to remove the discount, just advocate for clear communication. I also inquired about a AAA discount and was told that AAA were not offered. Today, one month after our stay, I received an email stating specifically that there is ‘AAA-Only Rates Up to 15% Off’.

Perfect location! Room was spectacular. Stayed for a birthday celebration for my girlfriend, and was offered some really special tokens to help us celebrate. Felt really at home here, and like this was a little community. Very intimate. We would 100% recommend this location to those looking to stay within short driving distance to fun adventures!

Great location, the building is pretty. Good size rooms, walls are very thin you can hear your neighbours!!! Female member of staff on arrival about 2pm seemed grumpy and unhelpful. Later on (not sure of her name she finished at 7pm) was very helpful and willing to help. Continental breakfast was ok, bagels and pastry’s were stale.

The issue with staying in some historic buildings is that sometimes preservation is at odds with guest comfort. We stayed here for one night and while the building and the room look great in pictures, as soon as some other guest walks (creaking wood), flushes (loud pipes) or talks (thin walls/doors), you can hear everything. It is a shame, because the rooms have a decent size, staff is nice and the location is perfect to walk to all the restaurants in town... but sleep is easily compromised by all other guests just by them walking around (which is their right!) Mixed feelings on this one for that reason

We stayed for a cozy fall getaway and LOVED the Constance! Staff was so friendly and helpful, our room was clean and cozy, and the grounds are beautiful. Loved being a few minutes walk into the heart of Lenox, we’ll dream about it until we can come back!
