Showed them a pic of what I was looking for and that I was open for suggestions or any alternatives. Immediately was told there’s nothing like that in the store or anything similar. I ended walking the aisles once again and found something similar.. you can’t make this up. Super clean and looks nice in there though, very organized

When we asked for help, the employee responded with an attitude, seemingly because they were in the middle of packing an order. There were no other employees in sight to assist us. This behavior was extremely unprofessional and rude, making us feel uncomfortable. Additionally, another employee approached the register while we were checking out, which felt unnecessary and intrusive. We do not steal from The Container Store—we spent over $500. Your employees need better training in professionalism and customer service. This is a retail environment, not high school. Do better.”

Impressive first-time visit to the store. Amazed by the broad selection of items. I was quickly able to find my desire item because I looked online and determined the availability. Quite pleased with my initial experience.

Container store designed and installed two of these wall-mounted / floating end tables. The process wasn’t perfect but I am very pleased with the final result and equally pleased with the accountability of this Company when we hit some rough patches. It’s not uncommon for there to be some bumps in the road with renovation projects. Based on my experience, I would recommend them! You will be happy with their customer service.

The two employees i encountered were extremely helpful. I bought a few items on 12/19/24 around 745PM. The cashier that checked me out was the best. She helped me find items and made me feel comfortable. Give that lady a raise.

Can't say enough about the Container Store! From the friendly and knowledgeable in-store team, to the wide variety of products, we have organized our new home, room by room. We just had an Elfa custom garage space designed and installed by the Container Store and couldn't be happier with the result!

This is my favorite container store. I always have a wonderful experience here. The staff is very very friendly and helpful.

Purchase two tall, wide Elfa six-drawer storage units for my son's room. I am totally pleased with the quality of the product and the ease with which I had to assemble them. The pricing was great as well.

I like their products but their customer service is horrible (repeatedly), for example: I called today with a question (free shipping at $99, my items are on sale, ending in couple days): "I have a question, my order is $200 but due to your availability it is forcing me to pick up the $165 item and now I have to pay for shipping for my $35 item, is there a way I can get free shipping on my smaller item since my order total is $200?" Rep (sounds like she hates her job): Uhhh I don't know. I have to get my supervisor...long hold Rep: No we can't do that "Do you know when the $165 will be in stock online so I can do shipping all together" Rep: I don't know that Overall very poor customer service, no info and not helpful, this happens every time I call them

The perfect place to organized your junk if you have limited space in your apt, home,office , etc, and plenty of useful space saving items available at reasonable prices . Made a quick stop to pick up a few rolling carts to fit under my wall unit to store a bunch of nik naks and a few others that fit under the bed and couch..everything thing you need for each room or space in your home that is still useful is available here in bins, containers , cubes , drawers , etc, and they don't take up much space .spent about 60 bucks and the mess is gone and now I have access to my stuff when needed and void of slobness or Oscar Madison vibe.

I visit this store several times per month, or at least I did. Every time I go there, no matter what time of the day or week, despite having 9 cashier locations, they never have more than two registers open! Tonight there were 15 customers on line and there were two registers open! To compound the waiting it seems like everyone working a register has a need to chat with each customer. The photo shows some of the line. When I asked, the cashier had no answer. It boggles my mind that a store that specializes in wrapping and shipping supplies has no extra help at Christmas time. Well another holiday season and more horrible customer service by these knuckle heads! I went here to purchase a gift card box, yes A (as in one!) gift card box and was greeted by a line of 8 customers standing in front of me waiting. Despite having 9 cashier stations, there were only 2 open. When we asked if they could get some help, we were told "we asked 20 minutes ago", to no avail. I can't figure out how this disaster of a store stays open with such clueless manage Another trip to this nut house and another level of stupidity! There are at least 65 customers on line and and only 3 cashiers at the 9 possible cash registers! I asked if they realized there were 65 people waiting and was told "We are trying to get some help"! In addition, the cashiers that are working find it necessary to chat with each customer, further slowing the process. How this place stays open is a true mystery.

The staff was do helpful and the merchandise, well lers just say top tier! I found everything I needed and more!

There are a few reasons why I'm so excited with The Container Store... They have plastic bins. And more plastic bins for my platform heels, boots, etcera. Ladies, I honestly don't know where else to buy these handy plastic bins, but here. Could I buy them at my local hardware store? Nope. Because you'll only get the 'One Size Fits All' bin and the heel part is lopsided. Tons of multifunctional and funky products for my home. On a smaller scale, a few kitchen, office and pantry items, including a straw bin to keep some chachkies- caught my attention. Barbara that day was helpful and mentioned The Container Store's Perks. With these perks, you either receive a discount or a free gift. Truth be told, I've become a devoted Container Store-plastic-bin-addict. After all, Container Store keeps my shoes well organized. By the way, Customer service is tiptop every time.

Love this store. If you want to keep your home storage neat and tidy you have to shop at the Container Store. I shop here regularly and have made some amazing purchases here. Keep coming back so they must be good.

Overall, the shopping experience is what can be expected from The Container Store. Bathroom urinal was moldy and disgusting; left much to be desired. However, Denise at front counter was beyond kind, enthusiastic, helpful and professional-- completely nullified the bathroom experience- making this a true 5 star shopping experience. Would come back again, but try to avoid bathroom

I love organizing things; bins, drawers, labels, color-coding - I love it all. If I ever pursued a second career I would seriously consider becoming a professional organizer (yes, they actually exist). Needless to say, I love The Container Store. This CS in White Plains was the first taste that I got of the chain. Back in the day they had this special event night for kids going off to college and I took part in it, grabbing all the goods to make it in that dorm life. I didn't really think much of TCS until years later when a newer one opened in Yonkers. While both CSs get my organization senses tingling and have large selections, I prefer the one in Yonkers simply because I feel the layout is better. However, you need to pay for parking in Yonkers since it's in Ridge Hill, so I guess it's 6 of one, half-dozen of the other. I may have hot mess moments in my life, but at least I can look on point all the time thanks to The Container Store (wanna hire me as a spokesman? ;-). I'm definitely grateful for TCS - I can always find at least one thing to pick up while I'm there.

So the original order shows up in 4 giant boxes over 8 days. No only will they not send me a shipping label, I have to drive these boxes out of state, 51 miles and place them back in their store for my refund. Next time i only buy assembled off the floor or go to Home Goods, or TJMaxx or Marshalls. IKEA has a service that'll assemble for a fee, but youll get none of those options at the Container Store. After the way the phone order went I'm glad I've decided against their product. Forty minutes after the order they refused to cancel the order but I can receive 4 boxes over 8 days?! It certainly seems like they could've cancelled the order. Not liking The Container Store.

Store is perpetually understaffed relative to sales volume (was an issue pre COVID and still a problem). Average wait to checkout is over 15 minutes even on a weekday afternoon. Their online operations are even worse, expect to wait 2+ weeks for your order. National chains have had months to adapt staffing and planning to restore service levels. When I've contacted customer care they don't seem to understand why a 2 week delay isn't ok. For the prices they charge, customers deserve CS a better experience.

As someone who loves to keep their space in order, The Container Store is a treasure trove. They have so many different types of storage containers, styles of hangers that I never knew existed but somehow feel that I need, and innovative products that I wish I had thought of first. I haven't been in a Container Store in years, so I walked around like a kid in a candy store for about an hour. It took all types of restraint to just purchase the single item that I came to the store for in the first place.

This store deserves a 5 Star rating because of the fantastic employee Ward. He was very friendly and helpful to my family when we shopped at The Container Store in White Plains. Great service. Great knowledge. Very friendly.

The products are probably shall we say over priced by about 30 to 40%... Honestly you could do better going to a couple of garage sales and maybe dollar tree... Not for all things but for most I hate to say even Wally World would give them a run for their money but why is it two stars? This is probably best left with kinder words I had some choice bad ones but let's just say that the staff sucks for the most part there were several really rude people... If you don't want to work with the public get a different job... And I'm telling you I could not have been more pleasant and telling them all with kindness really chapped their asses.

Great store I actually never been inside I hear good things drive by it all the time looks nice. It's right next to the diner that I go to on a weekly basis which is no place to have fresh lobster but amazing chicken fingers

I love this store. I want to BE in love with this store. They have GREAT stuff to buy here. The prices are a tad on the high side but that is not a grip so much as an observation. Many of the items they sell are fairly unique and while you might be able to get some of them from Amazon, you can see and feel them here and people have good jobs and brick and mortar stores are important to support. But, and here's the but, most of the time there is a long line to check out and it never seems like there are enough cashiers. When 12 people are waiting on line, do you really need four or five people who work there, marching around the store? The irony is that they have enough cash registers, just not enough cashiers to staff them! Correct that and I'd give five stars!

Helps when you have POP! Sales are best time to come, great service, very large store

I pulled a rolling trunk off of a shelf and it was filthy and looked like it had been used and when I showed the person in that aisle how dirty it was and asked for a better one, he just shrugged a said, "whatever we have is out" and when I said "you sell merchandise in this condition?" He answered, "it has nothing to do with me." So I found another person who immediately helped me find another one. I guess it was re-stocking day because merchandise was everywhere and there were many disgruntled employees throwing things around. I used to really like this store, it's too bad.

I went to The Container Store specifically for a storage solution for my refrigerator. Otherwise you'll get overwhelmed with all the cool stuff that they have that you end up buying more than you need or the entire store for that matter. But other than that...you'll love this store.

Container Store needs to update. A chain business based on helping people get organized. Get yourself organized on your correct hours!

Are they going out of business? I'm making an on-line order and have a question. Every time I call, I'm disconnected before being transferred to a person. So I tried the online chat - that's non-functional too. Since there's NO customer service, I guess I'll be looking elsewhere. Stuck at home during COVID is really getting me organized & my closets orderly. It's unfortunate that their communication options are unresponsive.

I love The Container Store. Do you need 100 hangers? They have 100 hangers, in any color you could possibly want. Do you want something to hold flour in your kitchen cupboard? They have 5 different kinds. I often feel like Ariel in the shipwreck when I'm in there: They've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty They've got who's-its and what's-its galore You want thing-a-mabobs? They've got twenty But who cares? No big deal. They have more.... I was thrilled when I noticed there was one in White Plains while I was there on an errand. I spent a good amount of time in there, looking for some bits and bobs to help organize my stuff. It was a little difficult to find help, but once I did they were really useful in helping me figure out which big container would be best to hold a 15 pound bag of rice. Overall a good store, and I'll definitely be back.

You should update the opening hours on Yelp. You've changed to 10am and here it shoes opened since 9am. I drove for a long tine to get here. Very frustrating.

Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. I called the store to ask about a product. I spoke with manager Rudy who not only barely answered my questions but was very disrespectful. As a manager he should serve as an example for his employees. Very disappointed and will no longer be shopping from there.

Please fix your hours. Yelp currently says your open at 930 and arrive at store and informed not open until 10. I'm rating 3 stars cuz I love this store, but this is basic retail 101 for your customers.

I'm usually not one to write reviews on non-food related locations but this is like my me & my beau's favorite store (both westchester locations) I get lost in this store for hours easily. I'm a complete neat freak obsessed with the look and layout of all things. The Container store has the coolest fixtures, storage units, nicks and nacks ever! If you haven't found that it thing that can help you organize.. I'd recommend this place. It's a little pricey but good quality and unique, plus they stand by there products. Try it.. It's life changing!

When you move a lot (so far 8 times in 17 years) you need to be organized. I love the container store because it allows me to just pick up and go and never worry that my pictures, paperwork, delicate items will be lost or damaged. A place for everything. When i walk in there I swear i feel calming. I alwaysserm to catch items on sale and I love that.

After striking out at our local Container Store, we decided to make the trek to Westchester to take advantage of this 30% off closet design sale. (This location isn't as crowded as the Paramus store, but it's also open on Sundays, so I guess the crowd can spread out a bit lol.) There was a decent wait for a design consultation with Elfa, but we put our names in & went across the street to the mall to eat while we waited for our text. And after the hour or so? It was definitely worth the wait! We came prepared with a very detailed and accurate measurement of our closet, and our design consultant Ellen was able to mock it up in the design software to help us visualize what would be the best use of our space. Ellen helped us maximize the use of our oddly-shaped walk-in master closet. She patiently guided us through the process of customizing our shelves & hanging storage until we were happy with the result. And considering the 45-minute drive up to Westchester, I'd do it again for the great service! Thanks Ellen. I can't wait to start using my brand new closet.

This place is my crack. I spend what little money I have there to help organize my life. I used to buy boxes from home depot to put stuffed animals in and such but they frequently cracked so I got some more expensive ones from here that have lasted me ages. The first time I ever went here was to get a rolling cart for groceries and thats lasted my family over 7 years with only one fixable break when I loaded it with textbooks. They have things that will suit every decor and will look great in your home while keeping it organized.

I'm an OCO - Obsessive Compulsive Organizer. I need everything to be orderly in my life in the physical, mental and emotional sense. I've always heard about Container Stores but there are none close to where I live. However, one day Yelper Ben Y. and I were putzing around New York and stumbled across this store. He immediately made a sharp right turn into the parking lot and we pranced inside. It's an OCO's heaven in there! The store itself is organized to a T. If someone wrote me a check for a grand, I'd spend a lot of it at the Container Store, I can tell you that much. From packing boxes to stationary organizers and kitchen organizers to toy boxes, you can find every type of organizer here! There are also small "gifty" type of items, too, that aren't related to containing. I LOVE THIS PLACE! I can hardly "CONTAIN" my excitement!

The design service was absolutely perfect for in my office in our old home. We had it completely redone and have in our new home also. And I just wish I knew about it sooner. Now everything is labeled, on its shelf or in its draw/cabinet box or container. I also bought the most convenient hangers to store things and because it's hanging I have a lot more floor space. Any home office, baby room, sewing or craft room this would be a godsend.

I've gotten two elfa closet systems installed here, both designed by Joe. This guy is amazing and really knows how to design a closet system that works. I came in with a few ideas and wanted to put the shoes on the ground, Joe mentioned that it would be pretty inconvenient especially while holding our child, suggested we put it on top; this makes all the difference in our day to day lives. Joe even called and followed up to make sure the install went okay the following day, great customer service, and all around genuine person. For our other ones, we'll only ask for Joe to design it Thanks man!

These people are clueless and rude, whoever runs it has to be inept. No one cares, no one is trained. I'm sure people that there are qualified people who applied to work there, who are knowledgeable but were probably threatening to the manager & didn't get hired----so you are left with the ... go elsewhere and look for sales. Closet elfa people here have made so many mistakes with my friends who used their service-they are not trained in this store. I hate the fake smiles they give you when you go there.

I really like the White Plains location of the container store. The layout just seems larger and simpler to find items than other container stores I've been to. The parking is also very convenient. It's a spacious lot with free parking. The container store is one of those stores that I always go into and leave with more items than I originally expected to buy. They literally have every organizational item you could ever need for your home! I've bought plastic boot storage boxes that stack easily in my closet and are clear so I can see what I have without having to open every box. I've also gotten storage organization for my dresser drawers and for my kitchen. I especially love buying glass storage containers for food items since I avoid food storage in plastic. Whatever your organizational need, you're bound to find it here!

I recently visited the White Plains, NY store to grab some last minute items and replace a shelf for an Elfa desk project. We worked with Rudy on the design plan and he did a great job. On this trip, we worked with Carmen to have a shelf replaced, and she really helped make the trip go smoothly. She helped keep people inside and socially distanced when it started storming outside. She found every item and replaced the shelf quickly and kindly. We will continue to do business at this location whenever we can.

Ordered 6 elfa closets for over $6000 total. Horrible home delivery services. The delivery person was 3 hours late outside if the delivery window. The delivery person dropped over a hundred items i ordered next to my house and refused to bring anything inside the house. Mumbled something about snow and being late to other deliveries. I don't know why i still order stuff from them. I have another 5 closets i need to do in the basement. Will probably go elsewhere. Go to hell, container store!

Heaven for OCD organizers. Seriously. My brain was exploding the whole time I was in there. We did actually come here for a reason, and were able to find what we were looking for: three lovely gray stacking recycling bins to replace the college-esque milk cartons we'd been using for years. I also found mini-funnels that I had been looking for forever, and an over the door shoe organizer (selected one from among at least 3 or 4 choices). Generally their stuff moderately priced, furniture and some other items a bit more high end. There was a bit of a line upon checkout, but it moved quickly.

I love the container store. Who'd a thunk that you could make a store that essentially sells boxes. Well containers to be exact. It's great for home owners, for college students for just about anyone. My last visit here was to purchase little boxes for home made gifts for work. There's a parking lot, so parking is never an issue, It's right off the highway, near 287 and practically across the street from the Westchester Mall. Because it's not in the Mall, it's probably often overlooked, but stop by if you need some containers or some inspiration for a good gift (home made cookies in a nice box?)

We've been going to Container Store a lot the last few weeks due to a household reorganization project. Great store. Well laid out. Great customer service. Nice assortment of things, in a range of prices (tho to be honest, it is pricier than going to other Big Box type stores for similar items). One super great option they have is you can place your order online, and pick it up. You just call ahead a few minutes, and they get your order staged, and you call once you arrive, and they bring your order out to your vehicle and pack it into your vehicle. Everyone we've dealt with at the White Plains store has been professional and helpful. Would recommend this store to anyone interested in organizing their home, closets, workplace, etc. They also have some innovative items to help pack for travel, as well as containers for packing lunch bags.

Well stocked and polite sales associates BUT I waited over 40 minutes to be helped with a simple stock search.

I recently visited this store on February 4th. I ordered a few items online and I needed to exchange one of them. When I approached the cash register, I was greeted by an employee (Doreen) and she asked if I had my receipt. I showed her the packing slip (which is what came with the order) and she immediately did a 360 and was extremely nasty with me. She insisted that I MUST have a receipt to do a return and etc etc, she ranted on and on about the return policy. I was so annoyed with her that I asked her to call over a manager. 5 min later, it turns out you can do a return with the packing slip!!! I couldn't believe how rude, awful and disgusting this women's attitude was. Over a return!! NEVER again will I step foot in this store nor give any of my money to this company. The Container Store should train their employees to act professional and to treat their customers with courtesy and respect.

When I first drove by the store I thought to myself how stupid who needs a container store and then once I've stopped in and tried everything out and looked at stuff I realized I am really organized and I absolutely love the idea I shop here at least once a month and I get all my stuff organized in a way that I could have never thought before it is so nice to have a store like this yes it's pricey but it's totally worth it if you want to go for the nice stuff they have expensive if you want to go for stuff made of plastic they have that too but I totally recommend stopping in and looking around and organize your life it could start with your spoons forks and knives

Some staff members are simply awful. They have a code so that they can talk bad about customers without the customer knowing. They will insult "fat asses" or anyone that they choose to target. The manager needs to pay attention to what the staff members say to each other on their headsets.

Fantastic service for custom closet design. After spending an arm and a leg at California closets 2 years ago for my apartment walk in, I was shaking in my boots when it was time to get closets designed for a much bigger space. I decided to explore the options at the container store and it happened to be around the time of the 30% off Elfa sale. Man oh man what a score! Bill? (I believe that was his name) helped us map everything out and come up with some really cool designs that work wonders for his and her style closets. It came out to 3k including installation (8 closets) which if you have shopping around you will know that is a STEAL. I felt like I got away with something! The closets came out great, minor issue during installation but it was quickly remedied. Really recommend the closet team here!

Clean, organized, and tempting. An impulse buyer's Waterloo. But the reason I want to write is to thank the store for making returns easy as can be. I just cancelled a large order with one day's notice and Hersey -- he hadn't even been involved with the original sale -- was so helpful and kind and spent much time going through the steps necessary to cancel the delivery and the installation and making sure that the money owed was credited immediately to my account (this was after one of their outstanding ELFA sales that you will see described in their other reviews on Yelp). Other places would make you feel guilty or make you take a store credit or --worse-- make you take delivery and do your own return. But at the Container Store all customers are always right.

I have been in line ten minutes with 4 people still in front of me. No one on floor to help and one person checking out. This is crazy. Stop sending me to come in and spend money. Just walked out with $300 in stocking stuffers

If I could I would give 0 stars. Last year we order a elfa system for our master closet and 2 other closets. We waited all day and they never came.. today we have another one scheduled 9-11am deliver.. 12-3 install. Delivery never comes again and white plains container store is telling me that deliver is 1-6pm today and install is tomm at 10am. My paperwork says otherwise!!!!! Horrible customer service! No one takes any accountability. They all blame it on 3rd party contractors. I would never recommend this business to anyone!!! NEVER!
