The Cork & More

This place is a rare gem. Fantastic deli, cheeses, and wines you won't find at BevMo or the grocery store. Great prices also. Make sure to do a tasting and get a cheese plate. Wow! Ask for Luke. He hasn't sold us a bad wine yet. Everything he has recommended has been very good to excellent. Did I mention the cheese plate?

This was a pleasant find after riding bikes from the state line to Camp Richardson and back. We saw a sign for a deli from the street and what we found was a delight. Great atmosphere, good sandwich selection and a nice outside garden to enjoy eating. We ordered two specials: The yam press wrap and the Caprese. Both were done well and refreshing to have on a hot day. Would highly recommend and will be back next time in south lake.

Great sandwich. Probably a good idea to call in your order because the wait was long. The employee with the curly hair was great. She was friendly and explained nicely how the setup works with the coronavirus safety rules and she was working the whole time we were there.

What a gem! Great sandwiches and sides, and you can buy a bottle of wine to drink there while you eat. All the the staff members were so nice and they guy that made my sandwich knew I was trying to order vegan and immediately jumped on getting some yummy mustard added to my veggie sando. All over great shop!

Great shop to buy wine, coffee, coffee beans, gifts and wonderful deli selections. My wife and I purchased hot pastrami sandwiches today, and they were awesome. Don't expect sandwiches to be ready instantly, but do expect quality food and friendly service.

First time here and we really liked their sandwiches. A standard sandwich goes for around $9. Their special sandwiches can go for around $12. My son had their tuna sandwich for around $6. They have a nice selection of wines and they have some non-alcoholic drinks and special beers for those wanting that microbrewery selection. They are somewhat hidden but worth looking for.

Great selection of wines, fairly good priced, cheeses, and best of all for me, the selection of jams and jellies. Highly recommend this place.

This place is amazing! I called from Arizona to order a gift basket for some guests of ours. Karla and Cara were so helpful in putting together a beautiful basket. I especially loved all of the Lake Tahoe local options. I felt the staff was so kind and accommodating. We had the item delivered and the driver called me ahead of time to make sure the timing of the anticipated delivery was good. We had just finished a long morning cleaning house and were hungry for a sturdy lunch. I have been here many times to buy wine, cheese and gifts but hadn't eaten in yet. We ordered sandwiches and took a seat on the garden patio which was just perfect in the fall weather. I had a turkey and pepper jack on sourdough and my partner had the wrap of the day that was meat filled. Also a couple of beers, some potato salad and chips. I'd say the price is right for the area. They do bring out the food and collect your trays, which is helpful. I wish my sandwich had a little more condiments on it as it got super dry around the edges but I used the potato salad as a buffer for that issue. Potato salad was good. I will definitely be back and will try other sandwiches and the salads they offer.

We love this delicious & market. The best fresh items in the menu, was happy to hear they use nitrates free turkey & their tomato bisque is top notch we went back for more. 2x in 1 week The owner is so sweet & her daughter. This is definitely our place to grab sandwiches & soups.

I have been coming here for years!! When the original owners retired I was hoping that the store wouldn't close. I'm glad Karla and Jeff carried on the tradition and character of the original Cork & More!! It is the best deli and wine shop in South Lake Tahoe!! I always stop in here every trip up here and grab a sandwich and they have a couple of soup selections daily too. If you want to pick up a sandwich to take on a hike or eat by the lake there always is a good selection of sandwiches and cookies too. The deli section has meats and cheese and a nice selection of all the varietals of wines too. Convenient location to stop in and look! You will be back!!

So. lucky to have this gem in south lake tahoe and right by the post office! I adore the decor items, especially linens and christmas ornaments, they make the best gifts!!! FOOD is yum from the deli i adore the cold smokes salmon and the salads! Egg salad sandwich is my fave! Sprecher sodas! cold in the cooler! Daily lunch specials on the quaint patio is full shade is divine! But the real secret is the chocolate chip cookies with walnuts, the best in town! Holiday cookies are also soooo good, cut out christmas sugar cookies iced with artful flare and tasty, too! Mushroom soup is my favorite , the hungarian one!!! always busy!!! call ahead if you are in a hurry for lunch and get it to go! or take a leisurely lunch on the weekend! we love this place!!!

Such a cute and delicious place! It looks like the kind of deli/ market one might encounter in Europe. Outside patio and inside seating are both charming. Our food arrived in a timely fashion. We very much enjoyed the tuna melt sandwich and the stuffed shells. We can't wait to be back on our next trip!

Very cute deli and wine shop. Prices are very reasonable for their broad wine selection and compare very favorably to larger merchant stores. Friendly staff. Small area to eat there or you can take food to go.

Been here a few times for lunch while visiting the in-laws' timeshare. They have hands down the BEST made to order deli sandwiches and wraps in the Tahoe area, along with an impressive selection of cheeses and craft beers (and coffee made to order). Come for lunch (they have a few tables here, or get it to go), and do some shopping in the cute little gift shop along the way! They have an impressive selection of kitchen wares and candles, dish towels, sauces & toppings also, etc. Not much in the way of service - mostly self serve, but that's fine.

I visited this spot for the for time and have to say I love it. I came home with a bottle of wine but what I liked was carefully selected cheeses, crackers, wine of course but also some nice olive oil and balsamic. My dressing with Safeways balsamic has been poop. They are also super knowledgeable and helpful so will definitely leverage their advice when I am doing my next cheese platter and wine.

We discovered this place a couple years ago when we came to Tahoe. Now we have to revisit every time when we come here for light lunch or something. This is exactly my type of deli place. Good options of veggies for salad, all made fresh. I get my choices of soups as well. He always gets his pastrami sandwich and loves it. They have a relaxing garden patio. We always sit there with our dog babies. I appreciate that every season they try to do something new for the garden. That's lovely. This is actually a wine shop, hence "the cork". A huge selection of wines in the shop. Along with a wide selection of cheeses as well. They actually have a proper size of sitting down area for indoor dining at a beautiful window corner surrounded by all the beautiful home items. You can actually sit down here for a cup of coffee. Every time we can always find a unique jam or salad dressing to bring home. I love their truffle oil spread. People are super friendly here. Excellent service. Maybe come back again to pick a few items before we leave Tahoe.

The Cork & More did the catering for my son's wedding. It was a simple and casual affair. They were easy to work with and very accommodating and there were several compliments on the food, especially the pasta salad! I would highly recommend the Cork & More for your catering needs!

Cute little shop that has a great selection of wine (hence, the word cork) and novelty items. We went with the intention of purchasing locally made items but unfortunately, there wasn't a whole lot to choose from that were made in Tahoe. Instead, I decided to grab a bottle of Pinot Noir. When we took it to the cashier for payment, he proceeded to give me pointers on how to drink the wine. He said to make sure I let it breathe for 5-10 minutes before the first pour to eliminate the initial bitter taste. He did not have to tell me this but he did which I truly appreciated. I took the bottle to my hotel room and did exactly what he suggested and sure enough, the wine came down smoothly. Talk about going above and beyond with their service!

I ordered one beef dip sandwich for $12 and one glass of ice water in a cup. Got one beef dip sandwich, meat sliced paper thin on one soft roll. Beef measured 1/2 inch thick, in total. Dipping sauce was canned beef broth. No ice water because they do not carry ice anywhere in the store. So I had one very small cup of luke warm tap water, not Tahoe lake water but municipal water company city water. When I asked for napkins the man said, and I kid you not, "How many?" Well there were two of us so I replied, "A minimum of two please." And that's exactly how many I got. I did ask what I would have been served if I ordered ice tea but only got a confused look.

Best deli in town offering delicious specials for lunch. Beautiful gifts including French table linens and a fantastic wine selection. Excellent catering for a special occasion. Amazing selection from chocolate to Italian pastas. Order a picnic to go or eat in the side garden.

Very cute place with nice staff. I was visiting Tahoe with my young daughters, and after a few days of eating off of kids menus, I wanted something a little more civilized. I went, and they kindly made me a lovely meat and cheese platter with some fruit and olives. The girls got cookies from the bakery and everyone was happy.

This place has the yummiest yummiest deli sandwiches!! Cute little wine bar but so much more. Have always had great luck with the tuna melt and club sandwich. Their salads are always on point and sometimes have great desserts as well. Definitely stop in here too for some gourmet cheese and olives - our absolute favorite! Love this little spot, it's definitely on our repeat list.

The place is so good and charming. Delicious club sandwich, great staff and beautiful little garden to eat your sandwich in. They catered our wedding which was also excellent. The food and the service were all 10/10. Can't recommend Karla and her team enough.

Took a quick drive today to Tahoe for a little shopping. Beautiful day to enjoy being out! Stopped at The Cork and More to check out their wines and to buy some Stonewall kitchen Aioli's they carry which I love! Greeted upon entry and left to shop leisurely on our own. Found a few Christmas ornaments half price but they didn't have the aioli I usually get so I'm trying something new that looks great! Lots of snacks, cheeses, jams, great priced wines and a sandwich counter which I'll have to try another day! We were checked out quickly by a friendly cashier. Definitely a fun store to check out when in the area!

We used The Cork & More to cater for our wedding party for breakfast and lunch as the wedding party got ready. Karla was wonderful to work with and allowed a few changes to the fixed catering menu. Delivery was on time and food was delicious. Would definitely use again. I also stop by on a semi regular basis for cheese ( great selection ) , a good bottle of wine , or a hostess gift

Worst place ever to go. Order a basket and they didn't even make it and said they didn't have enough information when I gave them a $50 limit and just said no alcohol. I said I wanted to pick it up the next day and the lady called me at 9 am saying she didn't have enough information to make it . I went into the store the day before and gave them my information and yet it didn't stick. I wouldn't go to this place. The worst customer service. The employee that took my order was right there and didn't say anything when questioning what I ordered.

It's off the beaten path, behind US bank and the post office. You may need to map it. A great place to find gifts. It's worth a stop if you are looking for cheese and wine gifts. They also have a deli in the back. It's a small store packed with lots of wine and the fridge cheese section is in the middle. If you are looking to splurge on your cheese platter and wine this is your place. I saw on their website that they have mini cheese platters for sale at a very reasonable price. One day I'll plan ahead and order 2.

This place is fantastic a treat for those with discriminating taste buds. You will not be disappointed on the variety of unique and tasty deli sandwhich es plus sides. They are so very much like STONECREEK in Monterey that fell victim to the plandemic. You will be waiting for your order but it will be worth the time and money. Come early avoid the lines as lunch.

I used The Cork & More for my wedding catering this past weekend, and I was blown away! I had countless guests come up to me and say that the food was amazing. You can never please all guests with a meal, but we opted for the South of the Sierras package that included a taco bar, enchilada option, and chips and guac - couldn't have been happier with our selection! Who doesn't love tacos?! Karla, the catering contact, was AMAZING! Super friendly and completely knew what she was talking about. The serving staff was phenomenal. We had buffet style food, and the line always gets long, but they kept the line moving very quickly. Overall great experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend The Cork & More for any catering needs!

What a delightful place, we came here to order a hot pastrami sandwich to go. Upon arrival we were enchanted by the beautiful decor, so much to take in.., it's a deli that has a nice sitting area. It's also a gift store & cheese, teas, jams, preserves, chocolates of sorts, hot sauces and more. Once you step in you will want to shop! Back to our pastrami sandwich it was delivered hot the quality was superb as well as the price $11.95. The presentation was welcoming as was the ambiance. Thank you Rose for such a delicious sandwich! We will be back!

We discovered this little hole in the wall deli while staying in Tahoe for our anniversary. Hands down the best food and service we had all weekend! Food was amazing! And so was the wine! We will be back

Awesome shop to grab some wine, beer, cheese, charcuterie spread, coffee, and sandwiches. It is a gourmet shop which fills a niche in the South Lake Tahoe area. Grabbed some sandwiches here the other day to take on a picnic at Emerald Bay. You can customize sandwiches to your liking and they had a wide variety of options. I had a turkey sandwich on a french roll. The sandwich was a good size and proportional to the cost.

Great customer service! When the local resturant was not willing to accommodate any special request we turned to The Cork & More. Excellent customer service!

Super nice and cozy wine shop / deli / gift and coffee shop and just a fun store overall. My husband and I have been enjoying going to The Cork & More for the last 4 months and are truly pleased with the experience each and every visit. From stopping by just to get a nice bottle of wine and Italian salami to having lunch and a cold beer in a beautiful garden ( open during warmer months ) this shop never fails. The food in the deli is delicious, staff is super friendly, welcoming and professional. Very nice, relaxing atmosphere and big selection of cheese, wine and home goods and gifts. Feeling hot and spicy- you will find sauce to match, for sweet tooth - there are enough jam flavours to choose from along with artisan crisps and crackers. Well deserved all the awards received by this wonderful, family owned business. Highly recommend

I REALLY love the offerings that The Cork & More has! I was able to pre order a picnic basket with my choice of sandwiches and dessert. They even selected a nice wine for us to enjoy! They offer a picnic basket option that includes rental flatware and glassware. The sandwiches, dessert and potato salad were delicious!

Working with Karla was easy and awesome! We are from out of town and had a micro wedding of about 20 people and hosted a small dinner back at our house rental. The menu options were great and all sounded soo good. We decided to go with the tri tip steak and salmon and our family/guests loved everything that was served we were very pleased with our menu. We had a delivery drop off and Karla was very accommodating from start to finish. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and the setup was great. It was a great dinner after our big day!

A big selection of pretty large sandwiches with nice ingredients, but they were rude, didn't seem to care about getting our order right, and it took well over a half our for 4 simple sandwiches with only 1 other person waiting ahead of us.

I have been going to the Cork & More since they were on Ski Run Boulevard, and that was a helluvalotayearsago! I think it was about 1976 and they had the coolest handcarved wooden sign, which is long gone. As with everything Tahoe and urbanizing, they moved who knows how long ago. What remains is the best wine selection in Tahoe anywhere, with wonderful imported cheeses, herbs, spreads, you name it. They also have a deli to go (open during COVID) and just about anything you need from a deli. I highly appreciate this wonderful place and am always sure to pack something home with me that I never see here in the Bay Area. ~Ms. Ali

I love this store!!!! The food is alway amazing and delish!!! There creamed asparagus soup is my favorite!!! Sweet treats are always delightful. I no longer live in Tahoe and this is one of the places that I miss. Oh and they always have the best ornaments and gifts for Christmas

I pre ordered an American Picnic basket which included 2 subs (we chose turkey with provolone), potato salad, macaroni salad (which was my favorite), really yummy fresh fruit, a lemon bar (drooling over it still), and an oatmeal cookie. Everything was absolutely delicious and so fresh! I highly recommend!

I ordered the vegetarian meatball sandwich. How is that possible do you ask? Well they use cauliflower and it was delicious! It might have been a tad salty for my taste, but I don't usually add salt to my food, so for most people, it was probably just fine. Even though this is a vegetarian sandwich, don't be fooled that this is a healthy option. It might be healthier compared to meat sandwiches, but the bread had it's fair share of butter.

Excellent deli that doesn't skimp on ingredients. Love coming here for lunch and usually grab some chocolates for dessert.

These are the best deli sandwiches in town. From the classics to daily specials they put together some tasty eats. I love that they have marbled rye, yum! Every time I go I try a new sandwich, buy some yummy cheese, and pick up a bottle of wine that I can't get anywhere else. Order ahead and pick up when you arrive, or wait and shop while they prepare your foods.

**Catering Review** Karla and her team at Cork & More catered my wedding reception lunch during covid. We had roughly 25 guests and decided to host an intimate lunch after our morning ceremony. They did an amazing job. The food was delicious. We ordered the wedding menu with salmon and tri tip and added crab cakes and a charcuterie board with smoked salmon. We got many compliments on the food. The kids plates were great too! Would definitely recommend the catering. The team was extremely professional and made us feel safe during social distancing guidelines. They were also able to accommodate our schedule and set up while the wedding party was still coming back from the ceremony. They came back the next morning to pick up all the equipment. Overall everything went smoothly, and very impressed with food.

Each time I visit Tahoe I make sure I stop in for lunch here. A charming and non-touristy place in South Shore is a great find. The deli makes delicious sandwiches using real ingredients. I love sitting outside on the grassy area under a tree. Service is always friendly.

They got it all! Nice people, tasty treats, a clean / safe environment, and a super cute little garden to nosh. We came for a few deli sandos and we were offered a special off list deliciousness tri tip + horsy sauce treat. My partner had one of the paninis and was very satisfied. Don't sleep on the sweets, selection of choice cheeses, and wine.

I was recommended this place by a local. Walk in to a cool little shop with delicious cheeses and a great selection of wine and they have a small little deli that didn't disappoint. I didn't even get a picture of it, i gobbled it down. I ended up getting some pasta salad and some other things to go. Don't forget to try one of there desserts!

I practically live here now. The staff is incredible and off you a cheese sample when you walk in the door. Lovely display of wines, crackers, cheeses, gifts and they make gift baskets and offer shipping! Everyone is so friendly, the owner came up and introduced herself to me on my first visit. Did I mention they have a killer deli in the back?! Filled with sweet treats and craft salads. Like I said, I basically live here. I'm obsessed with absolutely everyone and everything here. It's very charming and cozy, you won't be disappointed. Either you're in this place for yourself or someone else, the staff is sure to deliver an excellent experience.

What a great find!!! We discovered this place during lockdown - we could get a good bottle of wine and gourmet cheeses. We came back today for a couple of sandwiches and a glass of wine ... sat on the patio and enjoyed some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. My fiancé had the hot pastrami, and I had one of the daily specials, a panini with pastrami, cheese, thousand island, and a red pepper tapenade on rye. I didn't think I was hungry enough for a whole sandwich, but somehow I managed to eat the whole thing! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food was delicious, and the wine on point. Will definitely be back when we're in town!!
