Visited while on a work trip with some colleagues and we were all very impressed. The whole service, food, location and atmosphere was perfect. Great selection of food and delicious. Service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The location right on the river makes this an all year round spot to visit. Highly recommended

Stopped by for a quick lunch and ordered the fish and chips and the wild boar pie. The fish and chips was a stand out, with a light but exceptionally crunchy batter and fresh, meaty cod. As the mains were served quickly we even had time for puddings! They offer a ‘small puddings’ option: a half sized brownie or sticky toffee pudding plus a hot drink. Both were very well made. Friendly and faultless service. Has a terrace area with jaw dropping views over the raging river

Disappointing food. Uterine came with stale faccacia we asked for it to be replaced but could only offer different bread. Service was polite but she didn't deal with our complaint appropriately Gnocchi was just okay.

Dropped in here late afternoon on Wednesday after a long hike, feeling hungry & thirsty. Got a friendly welcome from the bar staff. Found an empty table outside on the deck area, overlooking the river. About 50% tables occupied when I arrived. Quick service at the bar, nice local blonde ale, food arrived quickly too. Delicious macaroni cheese with wonderfully fresh bread. A few guests had their well-behaved dogs quietly sat with them at their tables too. Moved inside for a second pint, wide variety of table sizes available with comfortable seating.

With the stunning River Dee as its backdrop and a rich history woven into its very fabric, The Cornmill stands out as an unmissable spot for lunch. We arrived on a drizzly summer day and were initially seated indoors. However, after a moment's contemplation, we decided to brave the slightly damp weather and move outside. It was a brilliant decision! Sitting right next to the magnificent River Dee, watching its energetic flow and the holidaymakers gently float by, was a truly unique and memorable experience. We admit, our expectations for the food weren't sky-high, as beauty spots like this can sometimes disappoint. But we were so pleasantly surprised! Both our main courses—the honey sesame pork belly and the cheese pie—were absolutely gorgeous. We highly recommend The Cornmill. Even if you don't stay for a full meal, it's definitely worth coming for a drink to soak in that incredible riverside atmosphere.

Had a smashing lunch here, comfortable surroundings in a busy pub, we ate in the dog friendly area near the bar, our schnauzer was welcomed and water bowl provided without request, great. Opted for salmon and haddock fishcakes & roast duck leg. Both were really good, veg fresh and plentiful, dessert and coffees pleasing. Well priced for quality, location and service. Recommended.

Went there for a lunch with my mom and it was amazing! Food was very delicious and I recommend the Butter Chicken Burger 🍔 It was soo tasty! Bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth it with the view! Take a seat on the deck outside :)

I saw this Pub from the bridge when visiting Llangollen recently and thought I had to go and see inside. When we got there, I needed to have a little look outside from the balcony, and WOW..the views were incredible! Inside the pub felt clean and tidy and we were welcomed by any colleague that saw us. We ordered drinks at the bar and went to our table. The only negative of this whole visit was the cleanliness of the Guinness glass.. Now onto the food, we wanted some light bites and the menu had excellent options. The food came out in good time and was beautiful…and I mean all of it! In summary, excellent food, awesome service, warm, friendly atmosphere. Would I visit again..? Absolutely! If you are visiting, get yourself in there and enjoy the smile on your face at the end 😁

Yelp
Amazingly fast service, friendly staff. Good food. Had the Sunday roast. Yum! Amazing view of the River Dee

Yelp
Took forever and was mediocre at best, and the cost of the starter (which came with the entree!) at 8 pound for just one fritter ball was ridiculous

Yelp
We loved this restaurant right on the River Dee. Great service, although a bit slow but nothing unusual for the UK. Delicious burger. Great atmosphere, multi level and lots of rooms and decks filled with interesting photos and such. Would definitely return

Yelp
Lovely location right above the river. Nicely done inside and the food was excellent. Mushroom pie for me, and all others enjoyed theirs. Service was efficient and friendly. Well done

Yelp
We had a large party of eight people including a toddler. The service could not have been more attentive. Food was tasty and came pretty fast. I know this is a touristy area, but this was not touristy food. It was very nice. Will visit again, next trip.

Yelp
The Cornmill is a place where the locals eat... That is a good endorsement of any restaurant. The Menu is solid with something for everyone, and is perhaps a little more expensive than most Pub grub, but this is not your average pub restaurant. The food is of restaurant standard and cooked from scratch, nothing re-heated here! The portions are generous and served in reasonable time. Towards the weekends and during the summer months the restaurant does fill very quickly, so booking is a good idea, although I think they never fully book so you can take a chance, but after 8:00 on a Saturday you'll have no chance of getting a table. This is not particularly children friendly, there are no child seats available and they don't allow pushchairs in, but to be honest there is not much for the very young to do in the Cornmill. You can eat where you want, but the actual restaurant area is up the stairs on your left as you go in. There is a downstairs bar, with seating off to the right, and a large deck area at the back, and around the riverside side of the pub. It is part of the same chain as the Pant yr Ochian, decorated in the same eclectic style, and with much the same ethos and menu. I would recommend it to visitors and locals who appreciate good food.

Yelp
Extremely large dishes- could easily share a meal! Great food excellent location it is a little pricey but you are paying for the view! Would recommend to get there before 6pm to nab a seat on the deck outside :)

Yelp
Upmarket pub grub, with an exceptional view over the River Dee that you simply cannot put a price on. This place will make a somewhat reasonable dent in your pocket, compared to other pubs, but the bottom line is: it's worth every penny. Llangollen is quaint and breathtakingly beautiful and The Cornmill compliments this to the highest standard: the food is an experience and a totally treat of hearty, warming dishes. The décor is traditional and homely with tonnes of character and exceptional features: the original powering mill is still inside and is incredible, a must-see. I personally love to go here as treat with all my family, it's perfect for special occasions such as birthdays etc, the atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly. Visit the steam train, take a long walk beside the beautiful river and then eat at The Cornmill to immerse yourself fully in the true charms of lovely Llangollen.

Yelp
The food here is _amazing_. Quite possibly the best I've had in the UK. And the setting is fantastic sitting right on the river with the old water wheel.

Yelp
Been to this pub a number of times . Its in a totally unique position overlooking the very beautiful river Dee . In fact its actually over the river Dee if you sit out on the balcony by the water wheel wonderful on a hot summers day . The pub sells a range of real ales and a good range of food but both whilst quality are a bit rich in price .

Yelp
An absolutely amazing pub and definitely worth going to. The food is amazing, the view is awesome and the atmosphere is wonderful. We wouldn't have found it if it wasn't for yelp as it is down a tiny road near the river in an old Corn Mill. The food was so big and so tasty and was very affordable as well. I highly recommend going here even if you are just stopping off on a drive south like we were.

Yelp
caThe food at the Corn Mill is fabulous: large portions cooked and presented very well, at a price which, though not cheap, is par for the course. Add to this a stunning location and a wide selection of real ales, wines & spirits, and this could easily be a five-star gastropub. However, it's let down by two-star service: our meal took 40 minutes to arrive, the serving staff seemed stresses & overworked, they forgot the cutlery, offered condiments to an adjacent table but not to us, and then charged us another table's tab at the end of the evening. The Corn Mill is well worth a visit, but allow plenty of time & check the bill carefully!

Yelp
If this atmospheric, and utterly appealing, pub/restaurant isn't situated in the most beautiful location in the UK, then please tell me what I'm missing. Go in the winter, and settle into one of the warm old-world spaces (with properly solid tables and chairs) with a decent pint of beer and a hot meal in front of you or, better still, in summer when the decking area outside, perched over the fast-running River Dee sweeping underneath, gives way to views of the ruined medieval Welsh castle (Castell Dinas Bran) looming mysteriously over the town. There's even the original fully-operational water wheel running at the side of the pub (someone should convert it to produce electricity, and sell the excess back to the national grid) and for the kids (in season) views across river to an authentically steam-driven Thomas the Tank Engine chugging out of Llangollen station. The bar is friendly, service is quick, the food is lovely, the prices are more than reasonable. The management don't know who the hell I am, and I haven't got shares in the brewery. Frankly, it's just perfect. And I didn't even get to mention the ducks . . .

Yelp
A fantastic pub restaurant serving quality fresh food. The setting is also wonderful on the river especially for the summer months. Definitely worth a visit.
