Oh my god, what a beautiful hotel. From the outside walking in, The Corner sets the tone. I had just come from Sitges—sun-soaked, still jet-lagged from my SFO to BCN flight—so I was in need of comfort.|Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff (Paolo, you legend) was amazing. My first room wasn’t up to par (cleanliness issues, a light fixture coming off the wall, and stray hair on the bed). I showed Paolo photos and videos, and he immediately course-corrected without hesitation. The new room? That’s when I understood what The Corner experience really is. Even though I’d booked a standard, it felt elevated.|The design is intentional—an analog, almost steampunk-meets-Dolly-Parton-western aesthetic with modern touches. The sound system alone deserves its own shout-out: it can either rock you into party mode or lull you to sleep depending on your vibe. Add in the glorious bed, the well-stocked minibar, and yes, the towel warmer (heaven after a shower)—and I was sold.|The rooftop pool sealed the deal. Erica welcomed me with warmth (and a compliment, thank you), then made me a custom non-alcoholic drink because I don’t drink. It was so good I told her it deserved to be on the menu as “The James.” The next day, Sanjit (on literally his second day at the hotel) blew me away with his knowledge of local gems and recommendations. Above and beyond service.|Post-checkout was equally impressive: I panicked thinking I’d left my insulin injector behind. Paolo once again sprang into action, only for me to later realize… jet lag had me confused, and I had it with me all along. Sorry for the wild goose chase, Paolo.|Bottom line: The Corner is where you want to soft-land after travel before diving into BCN. Between the staff, the design, the rooftop, and the service with a capital S—this hotel doesn’t just host you, it takes care of you.|Be amazed.
