In a nutshell, I wouldn’t pay full price!||- The reception has been changed around, we were greeted by a very lovely lady on a tiny desk in a dark corner of the foyer. |- The corridor on the way to the room was full of dirty room service trays and glasses from the night before. We checked in at around 4pm so it didn’t give us a good welcome. |- Room was grimey. There were suspect yellow stains on the bathroom wall next to the toilet and bits left over from the previous guests. The room was large but seemed quite tired. |- Spa was lovely, well kept and clean. The downsides were that it was very busy (one in, one out of the steam room and sauna) and the pool and ‘bubble pool’ were chilly, you couldn’t sit in it for too long which doesn’t fit with the relaxing, afternoon spa vibe.|- The wine offering was very basic/boring, we ordered a bottle of Cotes Du Rhone and it arrived fridge temperature after waiting 10/15mins for it. |- Dinner was tasty but the menu choice was boring and predictable. Burger, steak, mussels, chicken … snooze. Service was friendly but slow. |- Breakfast was great and check out was easy. I like that it’s a pay-as-you-go hotel so no big, boozy room bills in the morning. ||We got a great deal on our night away so felt like the disappointment was negated by the price, but, if I had paid full price for this experience I would be very upset.||Not 4 star hotel.
