We booked for 1 night, used the spa facilities, had a treatment and an afternoon tea. The spa facilities are ok, a little tired in places but the staff on reception were very friendly. I've had a treatment here before and it didn't disappoint. The afternoon tea however was a let down, being one of the main reasons I chose this hotel, having had an afternoon tea last year, it has been scaled back quite considerably. Lat year it had the wow factor with the added chips and fish on a stick, and 2 scones each. This time there fish and chips were gone from the menu, 1 scone each and the quality was outstanding, such a shame as it was so different from anywhere else serving afternoon tea, now it's just the same as everywhere else. The hotel room was nice, clean and well equipped, although it would have been nice to have a coffee pod machine as it was their 'superior' room. It was quite odd having the bath and shower behind the bed! As other guests have commented the balcony needed a good overhaul, even a sweep would have helped. We were near the far end from reception and it was a bit of a hike to the room, lots of noise and banging around from the guests above, but generally the hotel was quiet and staff were helpful. Breakfast was good, there was a decent choice of both cooked and continental options. Our room cost us £222 for the night including breakfast which I think is overpriced for the product so wouldn't stay again.
