The Cottage Langkawi

We stayed at Langkawi Cottage for 4 nights and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and the cottage is ideally located. Wan was an exceptional host. When we asked to change room, he kindly and quickly accommodated our request. He also gave us great recommendations for activities around the island and took care of all the bookings for us (they also have scooters available which was super convenient for exploring the island!) Everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you Wan !

Very basic room for 397 MYR per night and stayed there for 3 nights. It includes two large towels, body soap, two pillows, and a small refrigerator that makes a constant noise, similar to a can rattling. There’s no TV, and you’ll need to clean the room yourself. There is a ceiling fan provided outside. There is no drinking water, there’s one toilet paper in the bathroom —you have to ask the reception if you need more. Also, be prepared for noise from neighbors and nearby mosques.

All good, the check in is smooth even if we arrive quite late around 9.30pm or 9.45pm.Everything is acceptable as the price is really good especially in airconditioning.The location is not at roadside and need to walk in or drin in which might make u think is it correct or not but no worries it is, just follow the Google map.

I stayed at this place because the one I had originally planned to stay at down the road was full that day & I booked here for just one night with the intent of going back to the other place the next day , I had been feeling more & more unwell that day , it seemed I had picked up a lung infection on the journey to Langkawi & was struggling to get my breath , I checked in & the owner saw that I was having difficulties but didn't bother to help carry my case to the room which was the first thing to get my attention ,next was the absolute Stink from his body odour he was giving off , I mean it was awful , I know in their culture why they like to get a good Hum going & iv Smelt some Ripe ones before but this was BAD , Anyway , the next morning I was feeling really ill & so to save me from moving & get some rest I decided to stay on at this place for my time in Langkawi which was a week ,, Later that day a new Person came & this one also wreaked , I couldnt believe it as he would be staying in the Dorm ,fortunately he had a shower a few hours later , There is only one toilet for 8 people & the way its position is ridiculous , on a " Ledge " & you are left with your legs dangling , the beds are uncomfortable with springs sticking through & there is no bed side light .. I found the owner to be quiet ignorant as he never spoke to me the whole time I was there , not even to ask if I was OK ,there is a Boy there from Europe who is a volunteer , one night when I was taking some luggage out he started hassling me saying , " are you leaving , you are leaving aren't you " , following me & implying that I am trying to leave without paying ,, Big Boy , I was taking those things to give away to some friends , I gave away more than you own , imagine .. he also tried to charge me a higher price too when I asked for the bill , watch him ..all in all an unpleasant experience here & I wouldn't recommend it , there's lots of others ..

Peter was such a lovely host and so helpful! Rooms were clean and worth the price, only issue was there being no window. Quiet calm place, nice gardens. Laundry and iron available.

Brilliant place for the price. I stayed in a private room and it was great. The staff are so friendly and helpful. There was a problem with my shower when I arrived and one of the staff fixed it and also went out of his way to get rid of a huge spider that was in my room. I would definitely recommend this place, although it's worth taking earplugs as the walls are thin and I could hear what I think was the water pump behind my room all night.

Very good value for money. Absolute great to enjoy a good and very welcoming place. You’re coming as a stranger, you’re leaving as a friend. Location is great, rooms are basic but clean and very spacious.

So glad we chose to stay at the cottage, we had a brilliant time. In our 3 nights there we had food at the hostel twice, a bbq and an amazing burger ! Quite a small hostel so you are able to get to know people well. Really good laugh in the evenings out the front of the cottage, enjoying a beer and some good music. Would highly recommend
