The Cottage Langkawi

Very basic room for 397 MYR per night and stayed there for 3 nights. It includes two large towels, body soap, two pillows, and a small refrigerator that makes a constant noise, similar to a can rattling. There’s no TV, and you’ll need to clean the room yourself. There is a ceiling fan provided outside. There is no drinking water, there’s one toilet paper in the bathroom —you have to ask the reception if you need more. Also, be prepared for noise from neighbors and nearby mosques.

Peter was such a lovely host and so helpful! Rooms were clean and worth the price, only issue was there being no window. Quiet calm place, nice gardens. Laundry and iron available.

Very good value for money. Absolute great to enjoy a good and very welcoming place. You’re coming as a stranger, you’re leaving as a friend. Location is great, rooms are basic but clean and very spacious.

Brilliant place for the price. I stayed in a private room and it was great. The staff are so friendly and helpful. There was a problem with my shower when I arrived and one of the staff fixed it and also went out of his way to get rid of a huge spider that was in my room. I would definitely recommend this place, although it's worth taking earplugs as the walls are thin and I could hear what I think was the water pump behind my room all night.

So glad we chose to stay at the cottage, we had a brilliant time. In our 3 nights there we had food at the hostel twice, a bbq and an amazing burger ! Quite a small hostel so you are able to get to know people well. Really good laugh in the evenings out the front of the cottage, enjoying a beer and some good music. Would highly recommend

Really enjoyed our three days here! Superhelpfull and relaxed staff (and resident guest), great value: free coffee, free water, free maps, great beers deal, great laundry deal. Place is basic but nice decoration touch. As clean as it gets (no shoes in communal areas!). Very close to, but not on the main street so its quiet at night. Both aircon and fan, hot water nopro. Travelling with our 5-year old and she loved it too (maybe because she got oreos from the resident guest which we don't normally allow)

We loved our stay here. Made so welcome from the moment we checked through to departure...nearly two weeks later.||Perfectly located just 5 minutes from Cenang beach and many restaurants. Set back off the main road it is so nice to wake up to the sound of nature.||The host, Wan, is very knowledgeable of the local area and onward travel. The atmosphere around the place is one of fun, chat and beers amongst the multi-national guests enjoying their stay.

Arrived here a few days ago with so many plans, so many travel hopes but loved it so much I did not venture far from the hammock and the beach! I was greeted warmly by Wan who runs the place and works very hard at it too. You can see him doing many chores but also taking the time out to speak to guests. A fine balance.||I was initially going to book through Airbnb but communicated directly with Wan instead. He was very trusting and patient with so many questions I had. On arrival, I was allowed to view the room before I booked. I wanted 2 days in the chalet, granted. As it was my birthday, Wan upgraded me for free to a family room but I loved the budget room so much that was enough! I had lost my purse a few days ago and Wan was concerned for me. Hi place is spacious and spotless, you can't ask for more. Wan very kindly gave me a discount for the week and a free, cold welcome drink. He is excellent at his job. Informative but not pushy. I really can't praise this guy enough and would not think twice about booking here. The location is amazing just opposite the beach and so many good food places nearby.||I will be back, thank you.
