Second time here. Great food and atmosphere. Bar is always a good spot to enjoy dinner. Bartenders always friendly. Don't pass up this pass. A gem in a sea of tourist traps!

We visited The Cottage in the Siesta Keys yesterday 11/26/2024, and it was amazing! From the inviting ambiance to the incredible food, everything exceeded our expectations. We started our meal with the Black Mussels, which were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The broth was rich and seasoned to perfection, making it impossible not to dip the bread for every drop. For our main courses, we had a delightful variety: • Blackened Tuna Club with black and white truffle fries. The tuna was perfectly seared, fresh, and flavorful, paired beautifully with the creamy sauce and fresh toppings in the sandwich. And those truffle fries? Absolute heaven! • Filet Mignon with black and white truffle fries and herb veggie medley. The filet was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The veggie medley was a fresh, vibrant complement, and the truffle fries added a luxurious touch to the meal. • New England Lobster Roll with a Caesar salad– an absolute standout! The lobster was fresh, sweet, and generously portioned, served on a perfectly toasted roll. It was the best lobster roll I have ever had! • The service was outstanding as well. Our server Crystal was attentive, friendly, and made excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was cozy yet elegant, making it the perfect spot for an unforgettable dining experience. We can’t recommend The Cottage enough. If you’re in the Siesta Keys and looking for a place to indulge in fresh, flavorful dishes with a touch of luxury, this is the spot. We will definitely be going back soon!!

I recently dined at The Cottage in Siesta Key, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, creating a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Our server, Jasmine, was exceptional—knowledgeable, attentive, and very helpful with navigating the extensive drink menu. Her recommendations were spot on! The menu exceeded our expectations, including a thoughtfully crafted kids’ menu that goes beyond the usual fare. My kids enjoyed the grilled salmon and fried grouper, which were both fresh and flavorful. My husband had the lobster maki rolls, and I ordered the salmon—each dish was delicious and beautifully presented. One of the highlights was the attention to detail, even with the kids’ mocktails, which arrived in lovely individual glasses. The service was outstanding, the prices were reasonable, and the food presentation was impressive. I highly recommend The Cottage for families or anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Siesta Key.

The Cottage has what could be the best burger on Siesta Key. The Billionaire Burger is not just a name, it is its quality. The short rib, brisket, and chuck blend brings a powerful flavor to the burger while the toppings and bun bring it all together. Service was wonderful sitting at the bar and the beer prices were good. There are a lot of restaurants on Siesta Key that are musts if you are visiting, and The Cottage is definitely one of them.

I was greeted at my table on the patio by Monica. I was in the mood for grouper, so I had their grouper sandwich. It was perfect!! Especially the sweet pepper on top, which I almost did not eat, thinking it would be a hot pepper. It turned out to be deliscious!! Service was great! I had rice as my side, which I thought was seasoned, but it tasted plain, this is the only thing I can complain about. Everything else was perfect!!

Google
The seafoods are great. The seasoning for mussels was excellent, must try, would blow your mind. The bread is great with the sauce. Sincere service. Recommend it!

Google
The menu here is super-creative, and there's something on it for everyone. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the shrimp tempura was especially good: really flavorful and fresh. Our server, Cecilia was wonderful, and Cindy (the host) welcomed us so warmly we instantly felt like regulars. We will definitely be back.

Great service and food. The cauliflower curry appetizer was surprisingly tasty. We sat out back. They had live music.

Yelp
So it's a really good place. First time we went a few weeks ago the guy at the host station said nothing was available inside and we could sit outside next to a very hot heater - it was a cool nite. This despite the fact we could clearly see it wasn't packed and people were finishing up. So we sat for 2 minutes and a couple left. I went over to a young lady working there and she said sure we could be seated in there - and we were. So ... moving on. Next time we went the host was excellent - telling us it'd be 5 mins and she was right on time! Excellent servers. The Drinks were good, food was very good. Grouper was fresh tasting and the truffle fries were - you gotta get them! The Curry Cauliflower steak my partner got was terrific. So a really great dinner. Place itself is fine. Comfortable layout

Yelp
Had my dinner here on my first night of my getaway. It was pretty busy when I walked in but they had some open tables in the back and had live music toward the end of my meal. It was a slightly cool evening but they had portable heaters spaced throughout the tables. Overall, the vibe was beachy, tropical. Something that is very fitting in the village of Siesta Key, for sure. I ordered their lobster bisque to start. It was quite filling. Very flavorful, had chunks or veggies and (potatoes?) I then ordered their poke bowl with tuna. The waitress suggested a sauce that I unfortunately cannot remember. I took her suggestion though and it was good. The prominent flavors were soy sauce and Wasabi and you can't really go wrong with that. There were freshly avocado, chopped mangoes and veggies in the poke bowl. Very tasty and a great light dinner after the lobster bisque. I was finishing my glass of wine when the musician started playing. It sounded like lo-fi to me but I'm not sure. Anyway, it was rather soothing and I enjoyed it. I ordered another glass of wine, stuck around for a couple more of his music and tipped the guy. It was quite nice for a Sunday evening actually. My waitress was super nice. Didn't rush me at all.

Yelp
My wife and I ate here on 3/2/25. We were initially seated outside on the porch area towards the front. After being seated we were met with the distinct odor of "bum piss". We asked to be moved to another side of the upper patio area. We still got wiffs of bum piss throughout our meal, it just wasn't as bad. The front of this place must be where all the drinks piss late at night after getting trashed at the many bars in the area. My wife got a salad and truffle fries and I had the chicken sandwich. Both tasted delicious. However, this morning at 5AM my wife woke up very sick. We believe that she got food poisoning from her salad. This sucks as it has ruined our last day here on Siesta Keys. I would give The Cottage 1 or 0 stars but my meal seems to have not been contaminated. I guess I will know today if I am afflicted. I have attached a photo of the offending salad.

Rozet S.

Yelp
Very nice and romantic restaurant in Siesta Key! Sadly, we only came here for drinks after dinner and wished we had come here for dinner instead! The menu looked great. It was surprisingly not too busy for a Friday night so we were seated quick. My husband ordered the getaway which he enjoyed. I loved my mango mule!

Tristan C.

Yelp
You have got to try their short rib bites. They are so freaking good. Our waiter was awesome and the vibe of the place was immaculate.

Tim D.

Yelp
Had a wonderful meal that included some great Lobster Bisque. The meal was made even better by our wonderfully funny and attentive waitress - Jen.

Kelly Y.

Yelp
Had a late lunch at Cottage in Siesta Key while vacationing in the area. We opted to eat indoors since it was so warm outside but their outdoor area was equally nice and the had it covered and fans going. We sat at a high table in the bar area and opted for a few appetizers to share. Started with two specialty cocktails which were wonderful! Our appetizers were all great- the Crabcake was full of crab and plated well. Short rib bites were packed with flavor and quite big. The lobster maki roll was done nicely as well. The only caveat I would give is the prices are a little on the higher end for food. The maki roll is considered an entree and was $36. Considering that there isn't a ton of lobster to it, seemed a little steep. This would certainly not stop us from returning and there were many other menu options that looked equally good and interesting we would want to try. I just don't think I would get the Maki roll again. While you don't see it on their website, they do have a nice kids menu which is always helpful. Overall, Cottage was a "yes" come again for us!

Yelp
After having eaten at The Cottage many times, I'm finally reviewing it, long over due! What can I say, a trip to Siesta Key is not complete without a meal at The Cottage. Not to mention, that my favorite cocktail is served here, the Adam & Eve, it's made with fig vodka and it's sooooo GOOD! The food is delicious, no matter what you choose.

Megan G.

Yelp
The food was delicious. We had the tempura shrimp, blackened tuna club and Thai curry black grouper. Our server Monica was very sweet and attentive. We sat outside and it was lovely. Will definitely return.

Maya B.

Yelp
The lemon and lavender drink was wonderful and refreshing for a nice hot day as was the Riesling that I had just sweet enough, but not overbearing. Overall, this is a really cute place for lunch or dinner. I was feeling in a seafood mood since we are in a beach town so we had the tuna which is like a tuna with some spicy on it and these crispy wonton crackers that look like a bow bun. My husband said they were good and flavorful, we shared a lobster bisque which was very flavorful and delicious. The Peruvian ceviche left something to be desired. While the Portion was good it was not the best I've had and the flavor was just ok. The lobster maki sushi was good a bit expensive even for lobster if you ask me but it was well balanced and came with a great wasabi mayo. Overall it was a great place to sit in the shade and have a light bite.

Ali P.

Yelp
We finally go to go at Christmas for the first time and I will definitely be back. The apps and the burger were phenomenal. New favorite place in siesta!

Nicole R.

Yelp
An adorable restaurant, great vibes, good service... fantastic food. I ordered the Peruvian ceviche and plantain chips and I was wowed for sure! I love ceviche and order it often. I have family that makes ceviche. This was by far the best I have ever had. It was a fish ceviche with the perfect amount of citrusy flavor! My son had the poke bowl- although it was extremely fresh and tasty, he did wish the portion was larger.... It was that good! I definitely recommend this restaurant and can't wait to get back there again one day! Instagram @date_night_craves

Yelp
Really enjoyed our visit to The Cottage on Friday night. We got there around 6:15- and I'm glad we did as it was already getting very busy. We chose to sit at one of the sidewalk tables which was a risk as it was busy, but it made for excellent people watching. Our server took some time getting to our table, but once she came by she was great. She was friendly and joked about the birds above us and carrying my drink through the line of people waiting for a table. I ordered the Adam and Eve cocktail- delicious! Omg. Fig vodka and Prosecco with a basil leaf. I'm in. For food we went the tapas route in order to try a couple different items. We ended up choosing the Caesar salad, crab cake, tuna tacos, short rib, and truffle fries. Our hands down favorite was the tuna. We loved the crunchy wontons and the fresh avocado with the tuna. So good. We really liked the vibe of the cottage and would visit again next time we are in town. I'd like to sit inside or on the patio next time.

Yelp
When in Siesta Key, FL you must dine at The Cottage. Inside or outside seating, large bar area, great food and great cocktails. Our first day dining here was so exemplary that we ran it back again that week. The area is perfect with other dining options which makes it difficult to choose but we hit the jackpot here. The mussels are delicious so is the salmon and other dishes. The flavors are immaculate and the presentation can go "toe to toe" with the fanciest of restaurants in the DMV corridor. The service was timely, friendly, and welcoming during both visits. The Cottage will be the number one spot to return!! Hopefully it will be a tad cooler so we can sit outside.

Nina T.

Yelp
I love seafood so I really enjoyed dining here. Their lobster bisque was very good and my 8 year old enjoyed it as well. I ordered their lobster sushi and it was good. Husband ordered their burger and he said it was OK. Their kid meals were very small so unfortunately my 11 year old left hungry and they serve no dessert . Outdoor patio and indoor patio with live music!

D. B.

Yelp
Warm, cozy atmosphere. We had the blackened Grouper Sandwich and the Patio salad. Grouper was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. Yummy seasoned fries too. Salad was fresh and full of delightful additions like candied pecans, dried cranberries, avocado and blue cheese. Herb vinaigrette balanced it all out. Perfect for a January night. Highly recommend. Excellent service. Will definitely return.

Brian F.

Yelp
Yelpers are on the money with The Cottage. Service and food are fantastic! Especially the short rib bites and tempura shrimp! Highly recommended.

Riss I.

Yelp
Food was very good. The burger was very flavorful. Good service. Nice environment with multiple TV's. Lobster bisque was one of the best, would've liked bigger chunks of lobster but still amazing! Definitely a go to!

J R.

Yelp
The Cottage was fantastic. The drink menu was loaded with eclectic mixes. I selected a Tito's and soda with extra limes. The club soda was flat, but Sara was quick to replace it with fresh. The food was terrific. We started with the Lobster Maki Sushi which is a surf and Turf sushi roll. I was surprised it didn't have a bit more flavor considering all the ingredients, but was definitely a hit. For dinner we chose a Patio Salad with shrimp and classic Caesar Salad either grilled Salmon. The shrimp was seasoned well and complimented the candied pecans, avocado, and blue cheese crumbles. The Caesar salad is your typical caesar, but the homemade dressing was awesome. Well done. I replaced dessert with an espresso martini. Unfortunately, you have to be selective with where you order martinis because surprisingly there are few who know how to make them. However, I was drawn to the vigorous shaking of cocktails coming from the bar so I couldn't resist. The martini was made with real espresso, not a pre-made mixture from a bottle. I wish it had a bit more vodka, but I will definitely order this again. Overall great place. Service was immediate and attentive throughout dinner. The food was fantastic. We'll be back before week's up to try the tapas. So many unique choices. Can't wait to try them.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
I loved this place and was so sad we only ate there once while in Siesta Key. I got the salad and it was sooo good. We had a group of 10 and got the big table out back. Cocktails were very good and service was great. Can't wait to go back in October when we are back to the Island.

Steve E.

Yelp
Love the Cottage. It's always the first place we go when we arrive on Siesta Key. The food is great and the service is top notch. We especially appreciate Cindy and Rachel!

Dawne A.

Yelp
I was with family visiting Siesta Key for the first time, last week. Our first night there my so and I bar hopped ordering drink specials and appetizers that the local recommended. The Cottage was our second stop and by the end of our self guided tour, it was our favorite spot!! We went back the next night. Crystal was the bartender she was amazing, both my son and I are I the restaurant industry. Trust me she was that good. The drinks were spot on, the food incredible. I don't eat meat my son said the short ribs appetizer was worth a second visit, the calamari, the grilled shrimp causa, eggplant parm, the bronzed black grouper all worth it!! I can't wait to return!!

Michael O.

Yelp
My wife and I had breakfast here yesterday 7/18/24. Wow. We haven't been here in a long time. We both enjoyed our meals, my wife needs Gluten free food and they provide food that is Gluten free. It's very colorful inside and very homey. Not your typical chain breakfast joint. If you want good food and service and not a boring chain restaurant. Try it you'll like it, Mikey says!!!

Denise W.

Yelp
We enjoyed our service with Crystal D. She was very helpful with the menu. They have valet parking so that helps. We really enjoyed our meals

Alex B.

Yelp
Reading all reviews, I'm hoping we just hit it on a bad night, but it is 3 stars at best. I rarely leave critical reviews, but maybe this will help improve things a bit. The place is nice, the service was very good, the food was... below mediocre. Ceviche was just a barely okay fish drenched in a puddle of pure lemon juice that killed all flavor. For the record, I had good Peruvian ceviche in Peru, and this wasn't even close. The burger was very small and also bland, and forbidden rice that I asked for was dry, old and flavorless. The worst - we asked for grilled fish on a salad that was supposed to be the fresh catch. It was simply bad - tasted like an old fish frozen ten times over. We went to many restaurants on Siesta Key and ordered same fresh catch grouper many times - most were delicious, but this was just plain bad. On the other hand, prices and the atmosphere are quite upscale and not at all justified. Again, I hope this was a one-off bad night, but this was the worst dinner we had in two weeks on the island.

Amarah B.

Yelp
The valet had recommended The Cottage, he said it was his favorite restaurant. It was Mother's Day and very busy at another local spot across the street so we were surprised to get right in! We had the option to sit inside or outside in their back patio. We chose the back patio which was so cute and quiet, very unexpected! This is definitely a hidden gem! Our server was Sean, you could tell he takes pride in what he does, he was excellent! To drink I ordered a grapefruit mimosa and my mom got a lavender cocktail, both were very good! To eat I ordered the Benedict and my mom ordered an omelette! The food presentation was beautiful and everything was delicious! The food, atmosphere, and service was top notch! We are already planning our next visit!! Highly recommend!!

Beth W.

Yelp
Finally made a trip to The Cottage and was not disappointed! Our waiter was so kind and attentive, the cocktails (Adam&Eve, Lemon&Lavender, and Old Fashioned) were outstanding, and food was spectacular. A plus? the live singer they had tonight was amazing. The short rib was great, salmon tartar was great, truffle fries great, but the peruvian chicken....? amazing!!! Myself and my partner agreed it's the BEST chicken dish we have ever had. My partner has been to Peru himself and said it was very similar to some of the cuisine he experienced there. I cannot wait to come back.

Shelly B.

Yelp
Food was superb, service was spectacular and the location and ambience were perfect. Our favorite spot on the island so far! The salmon and black rice is to die for and the pie bowl fresh and delicious. Just go here!

Carl L.

Yelp
Great restaurant. Consistently good service and food quality. Been coming here for the past 4 years and recently enjoyed their brunch menu. Keep up the good work guys and don't change what you're doing.

Kerry S.

Yelp
This place has it all. Nice local restaurant that feels like home. It looks like a cottage you'd find up in some ski lodge but with of course, the beach feel. I wish I could remember our servers name, she was awesome! Kept our drinks filled and gave us some good laughs. For the food, we both went with the Cheeseburger that is made with three different meats, and they are huge! The flavor was probably the best burger I've ever had, and I went with the truffle fries as the side. Both were extremely flavorful and wife and I probably could have split one! This is a return spot for sure, don't pass it up!

Tara H.

Yelp
Food was amazing, service was great. The drunken salmon was delicious. The hostess was the sweetest , and the violinist was superb

Kim H.

Yelp
Food 5 service 5 ambience 5 Please check this restaurant out, it's amazing! Kyle made our 35th wedding anniversary so special! Cali's service was attentive but not overbearing, just perfect! The mussels, lobster bisque and short rib are a culinary experience. We will be back!

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Had a great girls night out! Singer (Sarah) was wonderful and the waitstaff treat you like family! Definitely a place to go on Siesta Key!

James N.

Yelp
This is not-I repeat NOT-an exaggeration when I say The Billionaire Burger here is the best cheeseburger I've ever shoved into my face. The place is only a third of a mile from the beach and has plenty of outdoor seating under fans. It's a people watcher's paradise. I've eaten here a handful of times and can't speak for the entire menu because I never stray from that burger. It's absolute heaven on a bun. Read about it. Try it. Love it. Can't wait to return!

Victoria M.

Yelp
Loved!!! SUCH FRESH AND GOOD FOOD! Service was A+ as well! We sat inside but after we saw the backyard / live music area and wished we snagged a table there! We will be back when back in the area!

Jay F.

Yelp
Awesome service. A+ for the food. Confirmed that the Billionaire burger is awesome. No disappointed diners in our group.

Leonard F.

Yelp
Wonderful meal and fun atmosphere in the village part of Siesta Key. Friendly and attentive service. The mussels, short rib appetizer, garlic bread and salad were all great. The calamari were a bit overcooked and we weren't wild about the dipping sauces. But otherwise it was great.

Felicia W.

Yelp
What a charming and inviting place! The outside seating under the tiki roof is quaint and makes for a fun experience. This place is family-friendly and dog-friendly which is a big plus. The service was friendly and welcoming. Above all, the food was delicious and offers many healthy choices which is important to us.

Jayden M.

Yelp
This place was great! First of all, something I noticed is that this place is pretty quiet, that's already a star. The service was also really good with the waiter constantly checking up on us. And last but definitely not least, the food. I went here with my family and I got the grilled salmon with a side of mashed potatoes. And the food was amazing. It came really quick. The other person I came with got a burger. They told me it was great. So overall, this place is great to go to if your hungry. 5 stars

Ray A.

Yelp
Great food and so close to the beach Visited 3 times already Grouper sandwich is a hit

Su C.

Yelp
Such a great place to eat even fairly late. Our waiter Joe was so friendly and made great recommendations! Will definitely go back! Highly recommend the salads-- they're loaded with healthy goodness! And if you don't want to be healthy get the truffle fries! Top notch guilty pleasure! The seafood scampi bucatini was delish! And oh my God the mussels-- it's so good you could drink the sauce lol just ask for a spoon!

Robert B.

Yelp
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Had a guy playing violin to top current music while we were there. Inside and outside seating. Seating on front outside is covered porch and back is in an open air setting with fans to keep cool. Inside is very low light, very nice setting. Bar is large and takes up the majority of the inside area. Highly recommend the lobster bisque and the tempura shrimp appetizers, I had both and made them my meal and would do the same again !!!!

Sharayah G.

Yelp
Love the food here, we sat outside and enjoyed the warm breeze and live music from across the street. The scallops were cooked perfectly and their presentation was awesome! Service was okay:

alyson c.

Yelp
I LOVE the Cottage. Our server, Jess, greeted us warmly and guided us through the tough choices of amazing sounding items on the menu. We loved the atmosphere: front porch back patio with a band and the cozy cottage indoor bar area. We enjoyed the superfood salad with grilled salmon and the bronzed grouper. The cottage does not take reservations but has a bar area so you can have a drink while you wait for a table. This is a must try.

Robin H.

Yelp
Lobster sushi roll as an appetizer followed by ceviche for dinner, so hard to decide! Four foodies loved their food choices...wish we had a spot like this near us!

Sarah G.

Yelp
Had a great afternoon late lunch at the Cottage. Her server wasn't afraid to tell us which plates were good and which plates to avoid either which is nice, we shared a couple drinks and a couple plates, and enjoyed the vibes and the air conditioning inside.

John M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, food is way too greasy. Quality used to be better, hoping it was an anomaly and next time is better

Phil M.

Yelp
Jalapeño margaritas and spicy calamari while listening to a live and in a private courtyard. Try it

Doug W.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Brussels Sprouts side was great - packed with flavor! Larger than I expected. Grouper Sandwich was great! Tender and flavorful. Billionaire Burger was probably the best burger I've had in the area. Very juicy and flavorful. Best bun - NOT soggy AT ALL! Truffle fries are a great upgrade too. Very good cocktails that actually seemed to have something in it! A bit on the pricy side, but reasonable given the location.
