Where to Celebrate Maple Sugaring Season in New England

"A Westport restaurant best known for its signature Maple Bacon & Eggs — soft eggs served in the shell with candied bacon, robiola fonduta and brioche — finished with wood-fired maple syrup from Zadie’s Farm in Weston; the dish and the restaurant are tied to local maple-sugaring traditions and celebratory menus." - Adam H. Lovely restaurant with beautiful atmosphere and eclectic menu. The service was excellent. Our server, i unfortunately don’t remember his name was wonderful, he was attentive without being overpowering. All of the food we had was very good but for me there wasn’t anything memorable. I think my favorite bite was the little gem lettuce. Beautifully fresh and lovely crunch from the rice crunch. A few of us tried the 3 course menu and it was tasty.

Google
So my personal bias is I love farm to table and good tasting healthy food but I don’t need my food to look artsy. So for haute cuisine this place is legit and top notch as are the prices. The portions are small with the emphasis being on presentation and all the other elements however I think even with everything considered the menu is overpriced. The halibut in the picture was $57. I’ve had better tasting halibut at other places for half the price with better portions, but the presentation is spot on and immaculate. That said this is an experience and perhaps not really intented for a regular Joe such as myself. Walking out the door having spent $300 for two people without any wine purchased and wondering where the nearest pizza place is doesn’t seem fulfilling…but it is Westport…..

Google
Super cute little place! Definitely recommend having a reservation as seating is limited. We came for brunch and were really happy with our meals. We had the frittata and lobster Benedict, followed by the vanilla spiced pavlova. Our server Derrick was very nice and extremely attentive despite it being busy.

Amazing restaurant. Order the duck and the sundae. Coffee Negroni was one of the best I’ve ever had - and I try Negroni everywhere.

Google
I loved the great customer service and the calm, simple, clean and "cottage-like" atmosphere. The food was creatively placed on every plate and was delicious! We celebrated my brother's 60th birthday and we all enjoyed it. It's a little difficult to find because it's not on the main drag. You have to go behind a parking lot and make a few turns - GPS was wrong. It's a small, lovely place with charm- a little gem - will return!

I should have expected a mediocre meal when the restaurant called me and asked me to move my 8:30 reservation, an hour earlier. Showing up an hour earlier didn’t help much given they only focused on the larger group who was seated after us. We ordered at 8 and got our first drink at 8:15. My wife’s cocktail, the passionista, was WAY too sweet. When I tried it my only thought was “this is awful”. The beer I wanted was tapped, so I got a bottle of whatever else they had. We ordered their bao buns (as recommended), the lamb ribeye, and pasta with duck confit. The brisket bao buns were great. Super moist and reminded me of Katz pastrami in nyc. The waitress made a big deal of the lamb ribeye being cooked medium rare, which didn’t seem to be an issue because they served medium well anyways. It’s fine to overcook the lamb by accident, but not after specifically saying the chef recommends medium rare. The lamb portion was really small, maybe 2-3 oz, which for a $55 entree was surprising. Further, a major piece of gristle was on the meat - I couldn’t even cut through it. Given the piece was so small, they could have at least trimmed it. The polenta with the lamb was terrible. The polenta definitely wasn’t made well, and was super chunky. It was also way too buttery. The pasta was VERY rich and buttery, but tasty. I liked it, bud had trouble eating the whole dish without being overwhelmed by how rich it was. Overall disappointed. For a “James beard nominee” restaurant, it didn’t hold up the many Michelin restaurants I’ve tried in nyc - even if comparable in price. I wouldn’t recommend.

Google
nothing short of spectacular. from the shabby chic white washed wooden beams interior to the last drink, this is a place to celebrate that special occasion, a date night or just the fact you're in the neighborhood. we've been treated like kings, melanie curated a perfect chef's choice dinner for us, the food was stellar, the drinks pairings spot on, and we all left with a huge smile. they need to bottle and sell that house made limoncello and make a fortune.

The Cottage has quickly become one of our new favorite restaurants in Fairfield county! We had a cozy date night here enjoying our seasonal dishes! We loved the green goddess dressing and brioche croutons on our “Cottage Salad”. The wagyu brisket bao buns were also a highlight, and it was our first time trying squid ink aioli, which really exceeded our expectations! My fiancé ordered the Berkshire pork tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly and even came with a knödel (similar to matzo balls), which we thought was a great pairing! Their hand-cut tagliatelle was exceptional with lamb, labne, and a touch of mint. Desserts were equally as amazing as the rest of the meal! The broken meyer lemon tart was topped with a thick layer of meringue, and the devil’s food cake was topped with a bourbon caramel and paired with espresso mascarpone. The cocktails hit the mark as well, and I appreciated that they had a section for low/no alcohol drinks! Our experience at The Cottage was definitely memorable, and we highly recommend adding them to your list of restaurants to try in Fairfield county!

Yelp
One of best meals we've had in a long time. From drinks to dessert we were impressed by this mindful and flavorful menu. Never in my life have I ever craved a deviled egg, but I sure do now! That burger was one of the best around. Every single bite. Just go. Try it for yourself.

Yelp
I haven't been to the cottage in many years. A group of us also lets go as see what it's like now We were amazed ! The food was some of the best we've had the drinks were creative and tasty Downside is it's a bit pricy , can get loud when crowded and reservations can be challenge. It's a very small place We'll worth the visiting for date night or that special occasion

Yelp
Came for a private event and they were so amazing. No clue of the cost, so keep that in mind when reading. We had drinks and passed appetizers for 60-90 minutes, then a sit down dinner with 3 courses with wine / dessert wine. I'm sure cocktails would have been fine at dinner as well. Staff was super nice and attentive. Portion sizes could have been larger. The beef tenderloin was a medallion size, I don't know if they normally serve that size, but I could've used more dinner.

Yelp
Edit: It is now 3 days later and I am still experiencing bouts of nausea dizziness and stomach discomfort from food poisoning. I am a very healthy person and have not yet been able to eat anything substantial. If this happens to someone who is immuno-compromised there will be far more serious consequences. The rating has been lowered to Two Stars to call attention to this matter. I hope management and staff take note and the requisite preventative action. Wait staff was pleasant and efficient. Aaron our server was terrific. Pleasant atmosphere although the tables are a bit closer than optimum. Service times were reasonable considering it was a Friday night and the restaurant was busy. Ordered the lobster roll appetizer and the Paglia e Fieno entre which I found to be very rich. My partner thoroughly enjoyed her beet salad and the cottage burger which was perfectly cooked to medium-rare. The lobster roll was flavorful and very tender though a little heavy on the butter. Actually it was sopping with butter. This morning brought stark realization why the lobster was probably so tender. Second worst case of food poisoning I have ever had. Twenty-four hours later and still extremely nauseous and having intense cramps and then just now, well you know.... Thankfully I have activated charcoal and arsenicum album on hand which saved a visit to urgent care. An unfortunate end to what had been an enjoyable dining experience. Given the circumstances, not anxious to return. Once burnt - twice shy.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the food. We went yesterday for Father's Day brunch (Sunday afternoon). Our waitress was very nice but the food was not what was expected from this restaurant. The waffles were dry and crumbled apart, the pancakes did not look like the pictures and looked like something we could make at home. The bacon came with 2 skinny pieces and again did not look like the pictures. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Another great dinner at the cottage! Staff is courteous, professional, with the right amount of customer care, friendliness and respect. The food experience is still unrivaled in the area in my mind. It looks good, it is creative and appeals to your senses in different sequences (including the aftertaste of the spices). We were lucky to have a corner table by the door, allowing to get a quieter experience than our previous one. Not cheap, but definitely worth it

Yelp
This place is fucking delicious and is expensive as fuck. But like not in a bad way. Don't bring your kids here. If you're French and living in Connecticut's Gold Coast for some reason you should be here on a weekend night. Take the Range. I ate shit here I didn't even know what it was but it tasted amazing. Big truss. The carrot soup I had once was godly, imma tell my grandkids about that. The space is weird and tight but it's fine. It's like two separate spaces that were not restaurants got kinda combined and they just fuckin ran with it. A+ bathrooms.

Yelp
I recently visited The Cottage in Greenwich with my wife and two other couples. I consider the Cottage (both Greenwich and Westport) to be 2 of the finest restaurants in the area, and would put them on par with the best that NYC has to offer- including food, ambiance and service. With that being said, I must admit that we are regulars here, but what drove me to visit this time is that it is our first trip since the talented Chef/Owner Brian Lewis returned from his finalist nomination in Chicago for the prestigious James Beard Award. We also wanted to impress our friends, and we sure did succeed. From the moment we walked in we were greeting by our lovely host, and seated immediately. The table was beautifully appointed with wonderful views of this stunning restaurant. We all enjoyed top notch cocktails from the bar as we placed our orders with the attentive and friendly server. For appetizers, my wife and I were absolutely blown away by the deviled eggs, which paved the way for the delicious spicy Maine scallops, that must have been caught that day- they were so fresh!!! For entrees, there are just so many extraordinary choices, but let me highlight 4. First, the buttered Lobster roll is simply the best I have ever had, and I urge everyone reading this to go try it and tell me if you have ever had a better one! We also shared the Yellow fin tuna crudo, which was mouthwateringly fabulous. The white miso grilled octopus is perfection on a plate, and the Pekin Duck in one of the most interesting and satisfying ways that duck is prepared- and I eat a lot of duck! Run to the The Cottage and have the time of your culinary life!

Yelp
Visited The Cottage with a friend. She had been once before and raved about their street corn pasta so we decided to take a trip to Westport. There was ample parking when we arrived. The restaurant is small and intimate. They have a large bar as well too bad I don't live closer or I would definitely frequent. The restaurant also offers outdoor seating. I ordered the piano drink that was delicious. I ordered the crudo to start. The fish was fresh I just wish there was a citrus element to it but it was still very tasty. I got the street corn pasta. It truly was so delicious with the fresh corn and cojita cheese. For dessert I had the panna cotta, the sorbet served with it was so light and refreshing. I also ordered an espresso martini with baileys with was delicious as well. Our server was very attentive and gave perfect recommendations and suggestions upon request.

The Cottage offers flavor, creativity, attentive yet relaxed service, and a calming atmosphere. Always a wonderful meal.

Yelp
It has been a couple of years since I reviewed the Cottage and I thought I should update it. This place seems to be the spot everyone in the family wants to go when we have a celebration dinner or a special night. I really love the outdoor tent they put up during Covid. The main restaurant is small and the tables are tightly packed. Outside is roomy and comfortable. But the best seat if you can get it is still the bar in front of the kitchen. You get to watch all the action and the making of each dish. The menu changes but they keep some of the all star dishes like the steamed buns (fabulous) and the duck fried rice (a special dish) and the Sunday is huge. Remember I said this is our celebration dinner spot. It is an experience and it is worth the money. Try new things here!

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place but it was underwhelming. The staff was super attentive the place is cute but despite ordering a wide variety of food nothing was memorable.

Yelp
We LOVED our meal at the Cottage. The lasagna was exquisite, soft and fluffy. The pot pie was so flakey and heavenly, gooey on the inside and crispy on the outside. We also had the Spicy scallop tartare on delicious crispy sushi rice and the hot honey english muffin pizza. WILEM (from the Greenwich location) - was the sweetest. We were late to our reservation because our toddler was napping and he accommodated us and was even kinder as we frantically unloaded all of our gear in the restaurant. Thank you for being such an upstanding guy to tired parents who just wanted a date night (with their kid).

Yelp
Waitress was awful the first time; second time was Incredibly good. Really glad we decided to go back.

Yelp
One of the most amazing culinary experiences I have ever had. Hands down the BEST place in Westport. The interior is tasteful, simple, and beautiful. Tables are small and close together. The service was just the way it should be at fine dining restaurants. Exceptional... Now the food. Each dish was absolutely perfect. There were so many flavors in each dish and made the experience very special. The tuna was so fresh and I savored every bite as there were so many flavors to take in... next was the famous waygu brisket bao buns... it was like a cloud with wonderful sauces and cabbage to accent the perfectly cooked brisket. The street corn tortellini was to die for! What a concept to mix these flavors together!! Truly exceptional and I really enjoyed those! Next was the crab fried rice which was so rich with the perfect blend of oil and crunch! Just a wonderful experience and I enjoyed every moment. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Took my old lady here. Good food and drinks. Little small. Could use a second floor and a smoking area.

Yelp
1st time at the cottage. Food ,service ,ambience was a five star experience. I'm visiting from Florida. My first visit hopefully it won't be my last

Yelp
Came here with a group of 6 of us after a recommendation. We wanted to share everything family style and ordered quite a few appetizers! Had fun sharing the plates and discussing the food with my group. My favorites were 1. Cauliflower 2. Crab fried rice 3. Bao bun 4. Duck breast smoked 2 ways The rest of my party were really happy with their food and drinks. Pricey but delicious!

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in the area! Their menu has a lot of options for food lovers so fear not has plenty of farmhouse classics with some modern fusions. The service there is very kind my waiter was extremely kind and we even had a lovely conversation together throughout the night when he was available. The decor of the restaurant is lovely it's extremely cozy and it's well lit to where it's not too bright but I can still see everyone. The one knock is this place is very expensive but it's incredible food.

Yelp
Possibly the best restaurant in Westport. Delicious food from a smart nouveau-American menu and lovely, romantic ambiance. Despite that, I have some negatives, mostly on service....we got stuck with a b**chy, detached, inattentive young waitress who clearly didn't seem like she wanted to be there. However, I'm certain her performance isn't indicative of the staff and management norms. The other negative is price. I don't mind expensive, but I do object to overpriced. And The Cottage is overpriced. Still, I hope to return for perhaps a better experience.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was excellent but the service was even better! Our Server Chris did everything right!! This will be our new date night place!

Deeksha K.

Yelp
Great food and the place. Portions are small. Fruit salad was amazing. Service is really good.

Yelp
Visited The Cottage for dinner for the first time. Small but classy. The drinks were spot on. I had the corpse. Loved it. The salmon was hands down the best salmon I have ever eaten. Everyone with my raved about their food. The server was a little aloof at times, walking away seemingly anticipating us needing more time. That aside the food arrived in a timely manner. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday celebration and did outdoor dining in their heated tent. The tent was warm and spacious enough that the tables were decently far apart for those concerned with social distancing. Service was fine, nothing spectacular, but I see how other reviewers were disappointed with it. When you go to a nice and pricey restaurant such as The Cottage you generally expect a certain fine dining level of service. Food came out in reasonable time and water was refilled. Our waitress was not super friendly and did wear a mask, but it was on her chin the entire time. I think it would have been more professional to either just not wear it at all or wear it correctly. We started with the wagyu buns and crab toast. The buns are fun to make and were pretty tasty. It came with a siracha Mayo which could have been spicier. They also come with potato tempura which was super crisp on the outside and light on the inside. The kimchi was decent but could have had more of a kick/punch. The crab toast was good but nothing special. For entrees we had the duck fried rice and the squash angliotti. My husband really enjoyed the angliotti. The duck was tasty and cooked well. The fried rice itself was ok-it seemed more like a rice pilaf texture. For dessert, we got the apple tart tatin which was not very good. The apples had a strange bitter taste like they were super over cooked. In terms of special occasion westport restaurants, The Whelk was a better experience than The Cottage overall.

Yelp
The Cottage was recommended to us by a couple of Westport locals for brunch but sadly our experience there was a big let-down. The interior of the restaurant was quaint yet the space was quite small. Tables are set very close to each other and we could hear the neighboring group's conversation the whole time. We ordered the duck confit hash and lobster egg benedict. 30min later, our hash finally came out but went to the table next to us. The other customer poked the egg on the duck confit, realized it wasn't theirs, and asked the waitress to take it back. 3 minutes later, the same bowl with the poked egg was served to us. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! For the price point and the kind of fine dining experience the Cottage team is trying to identify themselves with, I will pass.

Yelp
This was the best food and service I've ever had in my life. The place is adorable. Our waitress Emily absolutely rocked. She coursed our meal perfectly and even sent us a small dish of pasta on the house. We sat at The Chef's Table and watched the chefs in action. They never stopped and prepared everything fresh to order. The food was OUTSTANDING. Highly recommend the cottage salad, scallop rice fritter, crab fried rice, and tortelloni. We had to run home and cancel one dinner item and Emily so kindly accommodated. Just wow. Blown away! We will be back.

Yelp
Had a lovely dinner here right before Christmas. Small cocktail and wine menu but cocktails were very good. No specials the night we were there - menu is small but we all enjoyed what we ordered. 2 in our group had pasta, 1 had the risotto, my husband had the trout and I had the scallops. Had room for dessert so we all tried different things - I had the almond cake which was light and very good, my husband had the cornbread skillet, and our children had the sundae, lemon tart and the pot de creme - a lovely end to a nice evening. Place can be very loud when full so conversation can be challenging.

Yelp
I've heard so many good things about this restaurant and we were in the area so I had to give it a try. In summary, it did not disappoint and I can definitely see why it gets the rave reviews that it does. It's a tucked away location right in the center of Westport which makes it feel busy but homey at the same time. Upon arrival, the door was opened for us by the host and we were very politely seated immediately, even without a reservation luckily. The drinks and food were all a beautiful melding of flavors. The spicy squid & pork belly was the starter we chose and it was served with lettuce wraps. Not something you'd find everyday in my opinion and very enjoyable. The two dinners again were absolutely delicious. The staff was all very inviting and on top of everything as well. Very good experience and food! Love it and I will continue on spreading the hype that it has.
google avatar

Jeddrey R.

Yelp
Always been top notch. High end for sure - great cocktails. Servers attentive and the modern farmhouse vibe is familiar but well executed. The menu sometimes attempts to be overly descriptive-and to some one ingredient that really has minimal impact on the dish can be a deal-breaker for some. For some there seems to be one descriptor that requires a quick google search for those of us that have not been to culinary school - but its not a negative, more of an inside joke in our group...Westport needs more places that live up to the quality and consistency of The Cottage.

Yelp
Best burger ever!!! I have had lots of really good burgers in my life but this one is something very special. Sadly the fries were undercooked, but it's the burger that counts! The carrot and hummus was wonderful too. Their chef has a way with spices and sauces that is very unique and delicious. The service was chaotic and we had to track down a waiter for a menu, a drink, etc., which was disappointing. However, once we placed our order for food, it came out of the kitchen hot & fast! The ambiance is just okay--noise does carry: ask for a window table in the front!
google avatar

Lindsey S.

Yelp
Very good dinner. The presentation was the wow factor. Four stars because the flavors didn't stand out as wow, but nonetheless it was a great evening with great friends. I'd go back for lunch, the burger looked amazing!!
google avatar

Thomas A.

Yelp
Rude waitress, that slams the plates with a poker face, even more rude cow-boyish manager. The spaghetti with "anchovies" (I use quotation marks because there were no anchovies in the pasta whatsoever) was just horrible, flavorless, unsalted, plain with almost no cheese in it. Btw, we waited for ONE HOUR to get our terrible pastas. The so called cozy room itself was very smelly (like on old church with lots of old candles). Very rural feel. This place can be an excellent "fine dining" choice only for people who have not really traveled or who are content with anything that's not Applebee's

J D.

Yelp
The food was excellent but the portion size is laughable. I decided to go back as I thought it may have been an aberration. It wasn't! Be sure to have dinner before going to The Cottage for dinner or you'll go home hungry. I've been to great restaurant's all over the NE and the world and not looking for massive portions but this is absurd. My girlfriend ordered on entree that could possibly pass for an entre but my pasta looked look a miniature version of an appetizer. Ambiance is ok but tables are tight. Service was marginal.
google avatar

Robb C.

Yelp
My cousin suggested celebrating my 70th birthday at The Cottage, she has been here several times. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks and an appetizer before we ordered our dinner. I ordered a house special cocktail which was excellent (I don't recall the name). I ordered the Wagyu brisket and peach tarte tatin, all were delicious. The atmosphere is classy with a contemporary ambience. The staff members were very friendly and the bartender was talented and personable. The bottom line is that I recommend The Cottage.
google avatar

Kim K.

Yelp
Misbalanced ingredients in most of the dishes we ordered. The lobster spaghetti lost most of the seafood flavors by the tomato (but spiced perfectly) and very little meat. The venison was a bit gamey and bland but cooked nicely at medium-medium well color. Personally I prefer medium rare with venison. Both entrees served on warm plates but food cool. The chestnut soup too much creams came out tasting like a basic mushroom soup. However the chef hit it out of the park with the scallop appetizer. This small bite was perfectly balanced not only in taste but in texture as well. It was with this bite I saw the chefs expertise if he could just get the description of the rest of the menu to match his food it would be an amazing spot. As of now I would not return for dinner; not worth it.

Meg S.

Yelp
Had dinner here last week with a small group of people. We shared a few appetizers and had entrees as well. Appetizers first. One person had the Cottage Salad and liked it. I didn't taste that one. Two people had the brisket buns, which were deconstructed make-them-up yourselves items. The menu description hadn't sounded appealing to me, but I tasted and liked the dish. One person had the deviled egg, and seemed to like it. I'm not a deviled egg fan and passed. Someone had the octopus, which normally I like, but I found this one too spicy. As a main, I had the tortelloni with ramps, which was excellent. I ordered the full-sized portion, but given all the appetizers, should have had the smaller one. Others had the spaghetti entree, which was very good too. The long and short of it is that I wasn't blown away, but it was a solid, good meal. I'd give the place another try. Next time, I'll eat less and leave room for dessert. The dessert descriptions seemed incredible, but I was just too full to indulge. Wheelchair accessibility note: There is a long ramp up to the entrance and enough room to accommodate a wheelchair in the seating. I used a restroom near the front that wasn't accessible (small and up a stair), but staff assured me that there were accessible restrooms at the other end of the restaurant.

Tess L.

Yelp
The Cottage has received many accolades through out the years, which I'm sure are well deserved. If you're hungry this not the place for you. The tuna was pretty much non existent 4 very small pieces and a few pieces grapefruit added for $24 moving on to the fennel salad which was delicious but once again the smallest portion on the largest mostly empty plate. The entree was really disappointing, pork tenderloin came out with 2 extremely small pieces on the plate. It was comical! With all of that being said the drinks are delicious. Please note 3 plates were shared with a friend. Party of 2 was $100pp.

Yelp
The best in Westport for that special night. Yummy food, excellent staff and the best ambiance. I love the bar area for those nights I just want to fine alone.

Yelp
Our children brought us here for our anniversary. We opted to eat in the tent since one of our girls is pregnant. We had a lovely table and the drinks and food were all excellent. One of our daughters is a CIA trained chef and she even said it was good. The service was ok. The deviled eggs are expensive but worth the price and the Jonah crab toast was not worth the price but the foie gras was. I ordered the duck fried rice which was good but not as good as I expected it to be and the quail eggs sunny side was a cute touch. I loved my pavlova and had not seen this on a menu in a long time. I would return.

Yelp
What an amazing food and a great experience!! We had 3 appetizers to start (korean wagyu bans, cod with crepe and pumpkin toast) - everything was amazing! But the pasta was waaaaay above and beyond our expectations! Thank he bartender was very friendly and he made us great cocktails! Looking forward for the next weekend to come back!

Yelp
Very good food. The corn tortellini is excellent, as is the nigiri. Won't be coming back though because service was not on par. The food is very expensive (brioche bread was 12, nigiri is 8 for a tiny bite) I'm surprised by the poor service. They messed up one of our appetizers. We said something. The server did not let us know if they were making a new one or taking it off our check. Lo and behold, we waited and waited she sent out a new one as a separate course, as we have two hungry kids waiting for mains, making it a super long dinner. Zero common sense. The food here takes a super long time as others have noted, so by this time she has made our meal into a drawn out ordeal. When we got the check, not only did they not take it off the check, they charged us twice. I said something. They took off the extra one, taking even longer with two kids waiting. The waitress was barely apologetic, and seemed to blame us for not being more accommodating. If it were a scruffy diner, I would not be so displeased. However for a restaurant that dares to charge 12 dollars for a a brioche bread size of a muffin, I was hoping for better. Will not be coming back.

Yelp
Arguably the best restaurant in Westport, running neck and neck with The Whelk, if you ask me. And since you're reading my review, you kind of are asking me, so there. What makes Cottage so great? Well, almost everything. The setting is small yet special feeling, even though it's in a strip mall (doesn't feel like it, I promise). In fact, my only gripe on decor are the tables. Quite wobbly, which can be dangerous with your nice bottle of wine, which they have many of, kudos to the somm. In terms of menu, there are dozens of dishes I love from brunch to dinner. Like the duck hash, the waygu buns, the crab toast and the foie gras. The entrees change so often that I don't think it's worth mentioning any of those as they most likely won't be there when you go, but suffice it to say that whatever you get will likely be excellent. So if it is a special occasion you are looking to celebrate, you've found your answer. Book now. And no, they didn't pay me to write this. :)

Yelp
Finally! This is the restaurant that Westport needs! Westport food at Westport prices! Like the trophy wives of the Stepford millionaires, the food looks pretty, even though it may not have much substance! You can get carby food like the fried rice and feel like a champion for leaving it over, picking out the lobster, which is the only part of it that tastes good! Or, you can get four scallops for around $40 and not feel bad that you're killing more seafood by wishing there were more, since it only tastes of salt! Or, indulge yourself in one of their eight (8) cocktail choices, including rum/pineapple and (if you're feeling daring), a Smokey Negroni - there's something for everyone (even Chad, Fletcher, and Hadley, who's notoriously hard to please)! Best of all, you'll spend enough to really impress the hedge fund manager and seal that deal, without threatening them with something too formal or weird! Remember: Always Be Closing!

Yelp
Stopped for burns on the way home from Boston to New Jersey. So glad I stopped into this cozy, warm inviting restaurant with the friendliness staff. Each person saying hello, asking how I was doing. I grabbed a corner seat at the bar and Matt the bartender was great. Took my order almost immediately and told me to enjoy and take my time. Never once did I feel rushed. The brunch menu is a choose two for $35 and appetizer and entree. It just so happened both my orders included the Maine Lobster. The burrata salad and the Eggs Benedict. Both were fresh, colorful and delicious. I like that it was timed so I could digest my app before the entree came out. The extensive drink menu looked good, but since I was driving I just stuck with water. Love that they offer paper straws rather then plastic. I would totally recommend The Cottage!

Yelp
This was our third visit since we moved to South Norwalk. Honestly, being from Chicago and moving here 6 years ago I thought I would need to go to Manhattan to hit up a fabulous restaurant. Since dining at both Oko & the Cottage (3 times for that gem), I am fucking floored. Not only is the vibe completely "city" in this alcove of Manhattan but the quality and ingenuity of the dishes rivals that of Michelin starred restaurants. I am a self-proclaimed foodie and use a sous vide gadget on a regular basis but by no means do I know anything about the profession, but the sweet corn tortelloni last night honestly rivaled the dish of Grant Achatz that"exploded" in your mouth and not only did I get one bite but rather 6 ((half of half). The fact that chef Brian was was there and conversed with us idiots was a plus I felt like a moron in my food-induced coma but that was wonderful and whomever is his second in command there is a fucking gem. He was so amazing and obviously keeps that kitchen in top shape. The staff is bar none. Every. Single. Time. I am so grateful to Chef Brian for having not one but two opportunities to degustate (I know that's not a real word) cuisine I Fairfield County that doesn't require me to travel to Manhattan. The service and quality make me forget that I used to live in downtown Chicago If anything, it honestly makes me want to forego a trip to French Laundry. Yes people he is that fabulous.
