The Council Sibiu is an excellent choice for anyone wanting to experience the charm of the old town. Located right in Piața Mică, the hotel offers elegant, spotless rooms with tasteful decor in a historic building full of character. The staff is extremely friendly, and the delicious breakfast perfectly rounds out the experience. The location is ideal for exploring Sibiu’s center on foot. Highly recommended!

The charm of a 13th century administration building refurbished into a hotel preserved the centuries' old aesthetic, located in the historical town center. But the charm only began with the pleasant hotel accommodation and quality breakfast-included that it was. What topped it was the hotel manager, Simona. She gave the place glamour and spark. She spoke to us about her city upon our inquiries. She listened to our cultural interests and gave us advice that made a difference when visiting the town. In hindsight, she was a true-blue tourism advocate for Sibiu, for Transylvania's whispered secrets, and left us a little sad that the we left Romania behind to continue on our Balkans road trip...

The rooms are very old with old smell as well! Breakfast is a joke, for a 4 star hotel, I would expect way more variety! The amenities are also lacking. Again for a 4 star hotel and for the price you are paying, you should be treated with more attention. There is no elevator, I understand since it's in a very old building but I think this could have been mentioned. Location is the only thing worth mentioning, otherwise stay away.

A very good located hotel, nice people but that's all. We came here for 3 days to enjoy the Christmas market as a family with a toddler. The location is right next to the Christmas market so you can easily find restaurant and shops and all the fun. But regardless it wasn't noisy.|The stuff does everything to make you feel welcome, they are nice and friendly . They speak very well English. They serve only breakfast and it's ok. |But...|We've been here 5 years ago and it was ok back then. Now, it's not that ok anymore. The building is so nice, and old, and with all that history behind..it deserves better. The furniture is old, the room had random pieces of furniture...that had nothing to do one with another. The stairs were half painted, the walls were dirty, clearly painted years ago. The parquet floor was so scratched it looks dirty. On the entrance hall/stairs were broken pictures.|I do think the building deserve better. Maybe show some respect to the history of it, and let visitors know more about it. |Thanks for all the effort to the stuff.

If you arrive after the reception is closed, it's next to impossible to get your room, as the mobile phone number on the door is of a former employee, and if you call the fixed phone number nobody will answer. For a star hotel, the minifrigider is empty, so no drinking water overnight you didn't buy from elsewhere. There are no hangers in the bathroom, you can only put the towel on a wooden plank by the sink. The whole experience was unreal, but in the worst way possible. Stay away, there are many other reputable hotels nearby

The hotel was very nice and clean. Very large rooms and well decorated. Perfect location, it is in the middle of the city center with all the amenities in walking distance! Delicious breakfast and friendly staff! Highly recommended!!!

Disappointing! The only good thing about The Council is the location, right in the middle of the town square. That also means no nearby parking. The rooms are sparsely appointed, small and quite dingy. Bathrooms have a strong sewer smell. AC is very loud and doesn't cool the entire suite. Most windows don't have blinds. Breakfast was just okay. If you are a larger than average individual, or if you have any mobility issues, you will not fit in the tight shower or be able to climb the stairs in the suites. I'd look elsewhere.

Excellent location, but that's about it. The rooms are quite old, not just old-fashioned, squeaky and the breakfast quite limited. I liked the temperature tho, it was warm and cozy, but for the price I would most certainly go somewhere else.
