This place is great. However, I wouldn’t give it quite as glowing reviews as many others. We had a regular room and for a family of 4 (two parents and two teenagers), it was not really ideal. The room was dark and not well ventilated. There’s not enough hooks or hangers to tuck things away. The property is lovely, and next time I would do a cottage instead for more space. The property is nice though- pool, gym, fire pit, breakfast area, and the gift shop - all wonderful. A few suggestions to make it even better- include hammocks out back on the yard, include some yard games, include bikes or a shuttle to get into town, include more light in the room. Breakfast itself was basic, nothing special. Also, use less disposable dishes at breakfast.

This is a great place to stay! The rooms are very nice, with good furniture. There are two pillow options-full or thin-which is nice to have choice. The breakfast was wonderful! It was delicious and there was a nice, quaint, area to eat it either indoor or outdoor. There was also a pool and a separate fitness room but I didn’t visit those due to lack of time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting in the area.

We enjoyed our stay at the Country Inn at Camden Rockport. The location was great to explore the surrounding areas. Many fun things to do in this part of Maine. The hotel staff were all so nice and helpful when needed. We had the 2 queen bed room, which had comfortable beds and a separate area with a sofabed, the room was spacious. The amenities were all so well done, from the excellent coffee available all day, the morning breakfast, the large dining area with endless books and games, the outdoor patio and fire pit! The gym and pool areas were a nice feature as well. It was an added benefit that there was a mini golf and ice cream shop in walking distance! Enjoyed our vacation at the Country Inn at Camden Rockport!

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay truly enjoyable. Our room was spacious and immaculate, and the complimentary breakfast was a delightful surprise. They served homemade waffles daily, along with other delectable items like croissants, breakfast sandwiches (not pre-packaged), and sausage and eggs.

We cannot say enough nice things about the Country Inn. From the 'curb appeal' to the check in experience, it was great. Was just a bit difficult to hit the drive way (it snuck up on us each time we drove back to it), but plenty of parking. The lobby is rustic looking, like something from yester years. FRIENDLY staff, quick check in. They provided quick answers for anything we asked, including a dinner place the first night we checked in. The rooms were great. We had 2 queen beds. Room wasn't tight. AC worked well. No noise from other rooms and I think they were full. Hot tub and pool were open (yay!) but the pool wasn't heated or at least not much. Hot tub was nice. Only complaint there was that it closed at 9:30 and they ran you out at 9:30. There was no wiggle room. Towels were good, changed daily even though we hung them up. Not sure the if sheets weren't changed daily, but the beds were made up every morning except one (which didn't bother us at all). Breakfast was fantastic. Nice hot choices, and the staff really hustled to keep everything filled and clean. The only complaint about the breakfast area was that it was a bit tight to navigate if it was busy; there was a center island which either should be a bit smaller or not there at all, but it was manageable. They have cabins out back and a couple of suites. We peaked inside one of the suites on our floor as the housekeeping crew were cleaning. REALLY NICE. Didn't look at the price, but if you have an extended stay it would be nice. Also had a fireplace in the suite. They had a small gift shop, had t shirts on clearance for a great price. Out back they had a nice play ground for the kiddos and a gas fire pit that was used several mornings by guests. A great place to stay!

This is a hidden gem! I was attending a work conference at the nearby Samoset, which was out of my budget for lodging. For the price we paid, the Country Inn was much nicer than we expected. Our room was spacious, with a separate living area and small kitchenette area with not just fridge and microwave, but also a sink! The bathroom was large and fully accessible, including a shower bench (we didn't need this but it was a nice thing to see offered). We even had a small patio outside the living area! It was clean everywhere we visited, and the halls and common areas were quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool room was lovely because it's saltwater, so it doesn't blast you with chlorine smell when you open the door. And, being right on Route 1, it's accessible to so many things, including nature options and a grocery store and gas station both in sight of the driveway of the inn. The little gift shop in the lobby is full of beautiful Maine products (no cheap-looking trinkets!). We will definitely stay here again!

This property was very nice. Stayed here two nights in July. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Great location. The staff are very friendly and professional. The beds are comfortable and the pillows are firm and heavy. Just perfect. There is a grocery store and gas station right down the road. I highly recommend this hotel.

My family loved this sweet country inn just off the road near Camden. My son declared it his “favorite” of the various hotels we had visited during our road trip through Maine. It feels like you’re staying in someone’s home - everyone is welcoming and friendly. Small details like having 5 towels in the bathroom for us, were really appreciated.|Easy drive into Camden, which is a charming port town full of shops and restaurants. |Highly recommend!

Place is great! Staff is very nice and running a very tight ship! Facilities and grounds are in great shape and well-cared for. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Place is in need of major repairs and cleaning! Multiple places in our room had torn wallpaper/drywall. Carpet was wet & dinghy feeling. Bathroom floors had red stains all over it. Smelled moldy & musty in room and it was awful when the air conditioner came on. Worst thing was the bloody pillow on the bed. Told the staff about it and gave them the pillow, said they would let housekeeping know. Few nights later we requested a few extra pillows & received another one with blood on it.....think it was same pillow as before. So they did NOTHING about it! Which is absolutely disgusting! I took the pillow to the front desk & the staff was very flippant about it & made a joke. We stayed for a week and everyday they had the same thing for breakfast: waffles, cereal, bagels, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, bananas & a sandwich with sausage egg & cheese on an english muffin. NO berries, other fruits, scrambled eggs or sausage links like in the pictures on the website.

Yelp
We checked in and were told our room was on the second floor and I was told where the elevator was. We went to use the elevator, when the door closed we hit the button for 2nd floor and the door opened this happened twice at check in. The front desk clerk came running over and said oh this happens all the time try waiting till door completely closes and try again. To no avail same thing so he says it will get loud for a moment as he inserts the fire dept key into the elevator at that point we said we shall take the stairs! Get up stairs and open the door with a very outdated key, no key cards here. No extra lock on door either. We go to turn on the ceiling fan and the lights in the room dim. The Wi-Fi was lacking at best. The room was run down and outdated. There was mildew in the shower. Cobwebs out on the balcony that was in serious need of attention. They informed me upon check in that they don't clean room daily. Because we were staying 5 nights they would clean the room half way through our stay. The bed was lumpy but appeared clean. Below the gas fireplace was a carbon monoxide detector with no date code as to when it was last inspected. The coffee in the lobby was weak, they only offered decaf and light roast. The young gentleman who used the key on the elevator is who i spoke to about the poor wifi and lights dimming his response to every concern I voiced well the building is old! It has electrical issues. Nah ya think? I don't have a problem with a building being older but I do have a problem with the lack of safety in an old unkept building.I would not stay here ever again nor would I recommend any one to stay there. The only positive I can say is the staff was friendly. I thought it odd that the room had a fridge and microwave but no coffee maker. There appeared to be what looked like blood stains in the top dresser drawer. The tv was very difficult to see from the bed. Had there been any place with availabilty I would have checked out promptly. I can't believe all the good reviews of this place. I feel the place was a complete dump for the price we were charged. Oh and unless most places that start with new roll of toilet paper no you get opened roll half gone with a sticker on the roll. Same with paper towels. The breakfast they offered was ok, could have had a better selection but it was ok. Funny when I called in advance of my reservation some gentleman told me I wouldn't want to stay at the Claddagh Inn every time I passed it I thought could it be any worse?

Yelp
One of the best mini golf places in town. I go to a mini golf places all the time and this is one of the best that I have ever been to. Every hole is kept in pristine condition. There was quite a bit of shade when my family and I played and there was even a couple of very nice water hazards. Overall, it was probably the best mini golf place that I have ever been to. If you are anywhere near here try to visit.

Yelp
Enjoyed our week long stay in 2 queen cottage very much. The inn is very clean and has a great breakfast. Staff were friendly and polite. Especially loved the indoor pool and spa. The pool is big enough to swim laps and the area has plenty of natural light. Besides Camden and Rockport, it is conveniently located to Camden Hills State Park and Rockland.

Yelp
Great staff. The pool was deep enough for my big kids to be happy. Room(and everything else) was exceptionally clean. Building with lots of character. Delicious hot breakfast sandwich and coffee. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We almost didn't stay because the sign still said no vacancy (was just after 3PM). But the staff assisted us and are very friendly! Anyways, our room is large. Has a tiny kitchenette, a couch and side room with TV. Very rustic feel! Almost like we aren't far from the outdoors. Has a playground outside for little ones, and an indoor pool/spa. Almost for an even MORE outdoor Feel there are cabins outdoor for night/weeks rent. Good continental breakfast with fresh eggs and muffins. The only small negative was my room was a tad warm and musty at first but this place was great for the value! I recommend it.

Yelp
We stayed with our 3 dogs in one of the pet friendly rooms! It was awesome, they had dog beds, bowls, and treats laid out for us upon arrival. They were nice to us and our dogs. The room did not smell like a dog or an animal! They had sliding glass doors on the first floor so it was easy to let the dogs out right into the grassy area to go potty! It was a very clean inn. We were close to hiking and activities! The breakfast was awesome. Great food! We enjoyed ourselves very much and thought the staff did an amazing job. We will be staying here again!!

Yelp
Review based on facility and pool not hotel stay*** I called ahead to get info on swimming with my 8 mo old baby. Earlier this week, I was told that the pool was closed due to a filter issue. Today I confirmed it was all fixed. Well I was in for a surprise! Upon entry, the place seemed to be in a complete state of disarray. It felt like Fawlty Towers. We asked where the changing room was for the pool. "Under construction." I then asked where the baby change toilet was. "There isn't one." We had to change into our swim gear in a toilet that had a very wet and dirty floor. We had to change our baby's diaper at the side of the pool on a chair. The paved area around the pool seemed to be torn up (or just terribly distressed) and bare concrete with dirt between the cracks was exposed at the poop's edge. People were allowed in pool area with boots on. Being in snowy muddy Maine, this is not sanitary. It got worse.... I went into the pool holding my baby. The floor on the sides of the pool were tilted (without any signs warning of this uneven doing) and slippery with an algae like covering. I lost footing and FELL holding my baby and we both went underwater. It was dangerous and frightening. I finally got her out and she was coughing. I reported this to a very dismissive front desk worker who rolled her eyes and replied with, "oh there should have been a sign posted that floor was uneven and the pool was cleaned". I have since filed a formal complaint to the Maine state health inspector who will be paying a visit. AVOID this hazardous filthy place!

Yelp
We just stayed here for a week. What a great inn. Everything was great from the pool to the breakfast to the room. All of these things are nice, but what makes this inn more special than any other in the area, is the staff. From the housekeepers to the breakfast crew they were all super nice. There is a reason many of the people who stayed there were repeat guests. It really is that nice. The pool was just remolded and is beautiful. The workout equipment was a little dated, but it all worked. The breakfast was varied every day with waffles and baked goods as a mainstay. It says continental breakfast, but it's pretty much a full breakfast. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone who wants to stay in Camden/Rockport. It's well priced and in the center of both towns. It doesn't have a direct water view, but the best harbor is Rockport, for those who want to see just a nice harbor, with out all the hundreds of people walking around. And that's just a few minutes drive away. A special shout out to Courteny (sp)who couldn't have been kinder to my special needs son with his issues.

Yelp
We stayed here the begining of September, This is a Beautiful place, large rooms well decorated, a lot of thought went into designing with and indoor pool and small gym If you are looking for a warm country inn feeling this is not the place for you. The front desk staff don't greet you when you come in and are not very friendly. Breakfast is a simple buffet with juice, coffee, fruit, and some breads. They have homemade quiche and French toast but you have to microwave it to warm it up. Also, the breakfast staff are just like the front desk, no greeting, or warm feeling just signs on the wall telling you what to do.

Yelp
We've been coming to the Mid Coast for years and just discovered this hotel. It has the friendliest staff, a huge indoor pool, a good breakfast with, get this, good coffee! Not that nasty undrinkable stuff at most hotels. Plus, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Next time we plan to stay longer because this is such a fun area of Maine and the hotel is conveniently located on Route 1 close to Camden and not far to Rockland.

Yelp
Probably one of my most favorite places we've stayed at in Maine thus far. Bill, the owner and the entire staff took care of every special request we had. Rooms are spacious, very clean and offer fridge, little kitchen nook area with microwave, sink, coffee maker, etc. Pretty decent size sitting area with second TV and couch, coffee table, small kitchen table to seat 4. Very nice. They serve a country-style breakfast each morning (that changed daily), great coffee, orange juice, cranberry juice, homemade blueberry muffins, banana bread, quiche, yogurt with local granola and a variety of cereals, bagels, toast, etc. Also offer waffles to make yourself and toppings to go with it. Fresh fruit and more. They are also happy to accommodate your dietary needs if you give them a little notice. Probably one of my FAVORITE things was the pool area (big indoor pool- with sliding screen doors so it didn't smell like you were indoors with that horrible chlorine odor~). Their sitting area/lobby area was amazing. People would sit and have a cup of coffee and just chat with each other. Very family-oriented place. Even had a nice swing set/play set for the kids in the backyard of the hotel/Inn. Which as a Mom, I found really great. I could enjoy a cup of coffee and chat with new friends we met and know our kids were outside playing, but very safe.

Yelp
The room was not that clean. The guy at the desk gave us a hard time for making to much noise in the pool. The hot tub was not hot. In my opinion the deskman's mother should have swollowed him.

Yelp
We stayed here for three nights the beginning of September. We loved this place and we patted ourselves on the back for choosing it!! It is very clean, comfortable and spacious. The rooms are bright and airy with windows and sliding doors that open to a nice patio. It was nice to get cool fresh breezes during the night with the windows open. We had a suite, 2 queen beds with a sofa bed in the little sitting area, that is on the side and more private. A microwave [I think] and a small refrigerator completed the room. Very nice closet, mirrors and dresser, with lots of drawers to unpack. The bathroom was bright, clean and lots of room for all your stuff, plus a hairdryer. The breakfast was awesome, delicious hot coffee, all day long. The waffles that you make yourself were delicious and on the table is real maple syrup. Fresh pastry, an egg dish, fruit and cereal. And then in the early evening, cookies, cheese, crackers and fruit! The staff were very friendly and someone was always there to help with any requests. We will be back!! Oh, and the grounds are beautiful for a nice stroll, and just a 1 mile walk into Camden.

Yelp
Due to their own fault, they refused a cancellation of the hotel and charged me a nights stay. I was called into work unexpectedly and attempted to cancel prior to their cancellation period. They said it was all set until I got a booking confirmation two days prior to my arrival. Called and then told that I needed to call booking.com to cancel. Had I been told that before, I would have canceled properly. Will never stay here.

Yelp
We (mom, dad and 18 yr old daughter) truly enjoyed our stay here. While the pool and fitness room were inviting and appealing, we concentrated on touring the area. The staff were very nice with warm greetings each time we entered. The breakfast offering was large and tasty, with a nice lengthy time frame to enjoy it. Laura and Wayne gave us valuable information each time we needed it. The afternoon snacks and late evening cookies were a sweet touch. Camden seems to roll up the streets around nine each night so it was nice to return to a collection of dvds to choose late evening entertainment. The room (2 queens in the inn, not one of the cottages) was clean and spacious with a separate sitting area, kitchenette and balcony. We would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Huge rooms. Indoor pool. Family friendly.

Yelp
I think this is a great place but bringing a pet is never a good idea. There is something smelly About pet rooms. The staff were very sweet and enjoyable. Not your typical hotel. Cute decor and effort put into it!

Yelp
We stayed at Country Inn at Camden Rockport for my son's hockey tournament in March 2015. Wayne checked us in and was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was extremely clean and spacious, with two queen beds, fridge, microwave and sink, as well as a sitting area with second TV and couch. With several hockey teams staying for the weekend, it was a bit noisy and hectic, but that's not really the fault of the hotel, though it did reveal the thinness of the walls. We enjoyed a snack upon check-in; fresh veggies with dip, cheese and crackers and coffee cake, which was a great bonus. Breakfast consisted of cereal, bagels, quiche, pastries and a waffle station, which is always a hit with the kids. Overall, I was very pleased with our stay. Staff was friendly, helpful and personable, and the little extras were nice. A word of warning for anyone looking to stay here on a weekend in March- check to see if there will be hockey teams staying, and if there are, it will be noisy and hectic.

Yelp
We have stayed here four summers in a row and plan to return again soon. The staff is friendly, rooms are pretty clean ( bathrooms could use more attention though) and they offer a wonderful breakfast. The one big complaint that I have is that we were there the end of July and the area had the two hottest days of the year and they DID NOT put on the AC in the main building. WHAT.... This is just NUTS. it was over 90 degrees inside and you couldn't breath in there. I asked them if it was broke and they said, " no , its just not being turned on" We had to eat outside just to get a breath of air. One of the reasons we stay there is that we like to have visitors and socialize in the sitting area. We had to go somewhere else to do this during those two days. Perhaps the staff was just trying to defrost from the rough winter, but PLEASE for the love of your customers, turn on the AC when its over 80 degrees outside. You have a sauna for a reason and its not supposed to be in the dining/social areas. Thank you

Chelsey M.

Yelp
We stay here often when we are in town, strictly because of the pet-friendly policy. We like renting a cabin (when it's in season) for the privacy, although it is a little too pricey. The last few times we have stayed, there have been a few cleanliness issues: there was a blood stain on the sheets, stray human hairs in the corners, in the shower, spiders in the corners, etc. Clearly a lack of attention to detail when it comes to the cleaning service. Their towels and sheets are a tan/off white color which weirds me out, as they obviously don't wash them with bleach. I'm not a fan of feather pillows, which they have. We never eat their continental breakfast because of the lack thereof and quality. The last two times I was there, the quiche was ice cold (obviously old and had been refrigerated) and there were 15+ fruit flies surrounding the poorly saran-wrapped covered dish. The man who runs the front desk is very nice and accommodating, though, I must say. If you have a pet, I recommend staying here, but otherwise, there are other (better) options in the area to stay.
