Another wonderful stay at the Cove! Not absolutely sure but we have been coming here for more than 10 years or more and will continue until we are too old! The rooms are very clean, area around the rooms is clean and beautiful with views of the cove, rooms are extremely quiet. Staff is beyond exceptional- Bonnie is always a great help, always friendly and efficient. The beds are comfortable and there is enough room to sit and relax. Location is excellent- you can walk to the town center and even many restaurants. The Cottage Street Bakery is right around the corner and also excellent! We come in the Fall and late Spring so have only used the pool once during our years coming and it’s heated and clean. As I mentioned above- the staff is excellent from the gentleman taking care of the grounds to the cleaning staff and office staff! You won’t be disappointed!

The staff were awesome and very friendly. The bed was very comfortable and the view of the cove and the chairs overlooking the cove and views were so lovely. The room however could use a remodel. The chairs were so uncomfortable for my husband and me and the toilet was in desperate need of a new seat which was all banged up and the finish was all chipped. Didn’t give off a very clean feeling. I doubt we will stay there again sadly.

Positive: The location on the lake was beautiful. The entire setting was very picturesque. Nice a quiet as well. Negative: Well the person in the room above seemed to pacing back and forth. That was annoying when your wanting to relax and watch TV before falling asleep.

Google
What a find The Cove Motel was! A friend and I stayed there mid July looking for a cape getaway and I will 100% be back! Staff was friendly and helpful, guests were friendly and respectful. Restaurants, bars, bakery and ice cream all within walking distance. Rooms were very clean and quiet. I can't wait to go back!

Google
A very quiet reasonably priced Motel in Orleans. Many restaurants within walking distance and a beautiful ocean view from designated rooms and the private gazebo/sitting areas. Short drives to local public beaches. Responsive staff.

Google
Wonderful motel. Location is central to everything. Room was clean and comfortable and felt more like a hotel than motel. Motel was also right on the water and each room had its own patio/deck which was great. Staff were very nice, receptive and professional. Awesome stay all around!!

I truly don’t know why this hotel isn’t #1! We have stayed here too many times to remember and never have we had a bad experience! Just left after a two night stay and it was perfect! We stayed in room 21 that over looks the cove and is more private than other rooms but truly every room we have stayed in is great! |The room- clean clean clean! Quiet, small balcony to sit on, bathroom is a good size, enough drawers to put clothes away, enough mirrors to get ready, bed was comfortable as were the pillows, couch and chair in sitting area. There is a small dining table with two chairs. |Service- excellent. Front desk ladies are friendly and helpful. Christina ( hope I have her name right) helped to change my future dates so that we can again stay in the same room for a special occasion with patience and kindness. |Funny story- we locked ourselves out of our room when we sat on the balcony. We bolt locked the room door and did not realize the door to the balcony was in the lock position when we closed if! Doug to the rescue! We were embarrassed but they did not make us feel that way! |The grounds are beautiful, pool is warm when open, there are quiet hours so very friendly family atmosphere, close to walking to town center if interested, close to pretty good restaurants. |We will continue to come here until we are too old to travel!

Yelp
Wonderful Motel. Extremely clean, great service, friendly staff, beautiful grounds. Ideal location, central to beaches, and some of the best restaurants. Quiet, comfortable, and right on the water.

Yelp
Another wonderful Anniversary Celebration at the Cove in my favorite room overlooking the salt pond. superbly clean, plenty of parking, walking distance to restaurants and friendly staff with easy check in and check out. Already booked for next year.

Yelp
You check in exhausted from the drive from the airport to meet Bonnie (the worlds friendliest human). The photos online don't do it justice. This place is stunning. You get your key , yes an old school key. Go to your room. It's stocked w multiple quality shampoo and conditioners, an actual mini coffee brewer, and several cups and paper towels. It's immaculate. You play for hole, watch the sunset over the bay, and sit in the gazebo. Life is simple here, it's beautiful, and the employees care that you enjoy your stay. You wake up to birds singing, water that looks like glass, and check out. They text to make sure you're happy, so it's easy to converse but alas! You found a flaw because you think it's one of those automated robots... but it's not- it's a real human. Wow, you think, some businesses deserve to thrive. I love this place.

Yelp
We lucked out and got a last minute reservation here and loved it. Simple, exceptionally clean, convenient to restaurants and shops nearby, nice pool and wonderful view + a kind front desk staff - all for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend if you can get a reservation!

Yelp
Stayed here briefly in the middle of the night for Ragnar Cape Cod. It was perfect location and we were able to get some rest and showers. The room was spacious and perfect for us tired and sweaty people. The staff was great when we arrived as late as we did to get some rest.

Jessica K.

Yelp
My go-to on the Cape. Actually, my family's been staying at The Cove since the 1970s, and we always go back! Nice rooms, always super clean (always LOTS of towels!), and I always get a room on the second floor so I can have the deck to sit on. I've gotten other rooms as well, and the two bedroom down by the water with the fireplace and full kitchen is also VERY nice! The staff is always friendly and helpful, but they also leave you alone to enjoy your vacation. I most often see adults here, so it's not a big kids motel (thankful for that!). Centrally-located to everything in Orleans, and right next to the Ice Cream Cafe and the Cottage Street Bakery. It's more simple and "old school," but always screams "Classic Cape" to me, and I think that's why I like it!

EastCoasteR -.

Yelp
Rooms seem updated and still a great place and great location. Clean and comfortable and great bakery walking distance. Beaches fill up very early (by 9 at some) in August but still worth it no matter what beach you end up at!

Yelp
What a great place to hangout and be transported back to the Mad Men generation. We enjoyed the area very much and googled to find a nice deal on a great location. Nice location, nice rooms, great beds, and engaging staff. If you are in the area and need a bed, this will work for you.

Kelsey O.

Yelp
BED BUGS! DO NOT STAY! I contacted the front desk after finding a bug on the bed asking if it was a bed bug. I was informed it wasn't and they had called dogs for an inspection. Sure enough 2 weeks later at home I had a problem and had to pay for treatment. I asked for proof of the inspection, and they couldn't provide it. They LIED! Never stay here, it ruined my families entire summer after wards.

Yelp
Awesome Motel in an Awesome Town - Orleans, MA, Cape Cod, USA! This place is an oasis - a total Americana throwback to all of the best that used to be. It is genteel, quiet, charming and there's a super friendly vibe. The rooms are not cookie-cutter by any stretch - there is quite a bit of variety from room to room. Having said that, we've never had a bad room and we've been coming here for decades (literally) and have stayed in almost all of them over the years. Great place for a wedding group, family reunion or just a regular vacation. Close enough to walk to town and all of the best "hot spots" like Land Ho, Hot Chocolate Sparrow, Friend's Marketplace, Homeport Restaurant, The Lobster Claw & numerous ice cream & shopping spots. There's a great pool area, each room has a table and chairs so you can hang outside, there's shuffleboard and free games and an "honor system" library in the front office. As you can tell, we're big fans and have been coming here for as long as memory serves and will continue to. Long Live The Cove Motel!!!

Kim M.

Yelp
I LOVE this place! My family and I have stayed there multiple times. Recently, it has been my haven in the off-season for a few days on the Cape. I will be there soon and cannot wait to enjoy the pool, visiting the beaches, and being with old friends. In the center of town, yet on the water, this place is a haven.

Sabina A.

Yelp
This was a great little hotel to have our long weekend away at the cape! Located right on the border of Eastham and Orleans, Coastguard beach and Nauset beach are just a short 10-15 minute drive away. The hotel is situated in a convenient spot and being right on the cove was definitely a plus; be sure to take a walk down to the water and take in a sunset in their Adirondack chairs! We didn't go to the pool but it looked refreshing. Our room smelled freshly cleaned and amenities were nice! The suites have a kitchenette with a full sized fridge, which was nice to have. Staff was very courteous at check in and check out; I would highly recommend this spot!

Lisa L.

Yelp
One of the cleanest on the cape I have ever stayed at. The pool area was very clean but we were early season and it was too cold and windy to go in. Appreciate the toiletries and coffee provided in the room. Was walking distance to great places to eat. They were accommodating to us for a one night stay when we called because one night was better than nothing - wish more places had that philosophy. Don't NOT call at the last minute because you might get lucky :)

Jess B.

Yelp
Spacious and clean room by the water -- exactly what I expected and fair for the price. Free WiFi and the A/C worked great. Bed was comfortable. Parking was easy in their lot. The front desk staff were very friendly too which is always nice. Good experience overall

Terry N.

Yelp
I cannot recommend the Cove Motel highly enough. As a single woman with two days to relax I couldn't have asked for a better place. The room was perfect; the staff friendly, skilled and helpful. The setting perfect... I got to enjoy the water in a beautiful setting without having to travel to the beach in my short amount of time. They're gazebo and deck was a perfect spot each day. And the pool! And walking distance to a lot of fun attractions and restaurants. I love the Cove Motel!

Rich B.

Yelp
This was a sight un-seen or friend recommended motel. We were surprised with the large rooms , nice furniture and central location to many nice restaurants and quality retail shops. We were skeptical before booking because of the very reasonable prices but The Cove did not disappoint. It deserves 5 stars but I found very minors flaws... the critic in me. I don't write too many reviews but this motel needs to be recognized. We will return for sure.

David B.

Yelp
I stayed at the Cove Motel 12 months ago and it's one of the nicer Motels in the Orleans area. Don't be fooled by the entrance to the Cove. It's a large piece of property which is well maintained and the view is great. The room was well lit and airy. A bright room with a clear view of the water which was a welcome surprise. The seasonal rates are not cheap but you have access to the property and the service was very good. Rooms were spotless and the bedding was crisp and fresh. There is nothing worse than having that musty smell of the dead air room bt that was clearly not the case there. There is easy access to all of the local eateries and entertainment in the area. Traffic can be bothersome on the road so take care when approaching the entrance because you can pass it very quickly if you don't pay attention.

Yelp
We have stayed here twice a year for the last two years, and absolutely can not say enough good things about this place. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and homey. The staff is hospitable, helpful, and flexible - we have arrived late at night each time, and each time they were so accommodating (we'll leave the light on for you, check in in the morning, no rush, etc). When we stayed here most recently, over the summer, the A/C was incredibly noisy, so much so we couldn't use it at night because it was keeping us awake. We told the front desk about it, and they delivered us a fan. Luckily the nights were cool, so we just left the window open with the fan in front of it, and it was perfect. This place is situated in a beautiful, quieter area of the Cape, far from the noisy hustle and bustle of the Hyannis area. Lots to do in Orleans (bike trails, kayaking) and in nearby areas of Wellfleet and Brewster. Definitely consider it if you need a place to stay in the area.

Sandy O.

Yelp
I have never stayed here. But family and friends return year after year, and extoll the facility, the view, the location, the staff, the (relative) reasonable rates, and so The Cove is my "go to" referral for folks visiting the Cape and needing a place to stay. What I most love is its proximity to genuine Cape Cod - an old fashioned ice cream parlor,, a lighting fixture antique store that is wonderfully musty, the french cable station museum, and several great local restaurants like the Land 'Ho (lunch) and The Academy Ocean Grill and the Saltwater Grill..all within walking distance. If you are the type of person who feels that Bed and Breakfast are too familiar, and that area motels lack seaside character, turn here immediately. Well done, The Cove.

Danielle S.

Yelp
Great place, nice view. The front desk staff was so nice and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Mary B.

Yelp
Seriously doubting the review by Steven D. I've just returned from a wonderful off-season weekend on the Cape. Stayed at The Cove, and can't wait to go back. It as was quiet, clean, affordable, centrally-located and perfect for a Spring vacation at the cape. They have done an excellent job of bringing an older place, preserving all of the charm, but making the rooms and grounds perfect for resort-worthy praise! It is now my go-to place when I want to spend time on Cape Cod! Kudos Cove in Orleans!!!!

Yelp
We stayed at The Cove Motel for 2 nights last week. There were 6 of us in 3 different rooms, we were in town for a wedding. The rooms were VERY very clean with plenty of room. Outside all of the rooms were tables and chairs to sit and visit. We spent the entire morning on the deck, before moving our party to the pool area- to enjoy some sun. The pool area was also very clean. The office staff was very friendly- I was bad because I never stopped in the office until the morning we checked out, we had arrived late on Wed. night and our friends had grabbed the key to our room- then Thursday, I just never made it to the office even though we spent the day at the motel-before leaving for the wedding- which was down the road. This wasn't an issue in anyway, we had pre-paid so it was fine. I would love to stay here again soon!

Alessandra B.

Yelp
Late at night around 11 pm we spotted a fast bug on the wall (lower level) and it looked like a roach. There is another review here mentioning roaches, so maybe it WAS a roach! Other than that, the place is OK, the bug was the only flaw but we didn't get a good night's sleep due to the ominous looking bug--he scurried away--fast. Where did he go? :)

Kaitlin W.

Yelp
Stayed here this summer for 2 nights and loved it. Rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable, reasonably priced. Within walking distance of great restaurants (both casual and fancy) and shopping, and a short drive to both Nauset and Skaket Beaches. It also has a lovely place to sit and look at the water - very nice early in the morning or early evening. I wasn't blown away by the pool, but I'm still giving the place 5 stars because you don't go to the Cape in the summer to swim in a motel pool, do you? :)

Joe C.

Yelp
The motels is more than a few years old but is modern and clean, The room has a coffee maker, microwave, refrig, iron , coffee maker flat screen tv and wifi. The room was as clean as I've seen. The grounds are clean and well landscaped. The pool is heated. There is a fire pit by the water. There are charcoal grilles near the pool. The staff is very helpful. The bathroom is modern and clean. We are attending a wedding in town and The Cove was picked by the wedding party and it was a great choice. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance so you can drive here, park your car and not use it until it is time to go home. All this and the rates are reasonable for a nice place on Cape Cod,

Melanie K.

Yelp
It's fine for a couple of days but I wouldn't do more than that. Our room seemed to be mid-renovation, with part of it nice and part of it in dire need of upgrading/deep cleaning/repair (stove burners full of grease, closet doors falling off, air conditioner from who knows which decade). For a motel in a town people visit for the beach (and with a pool), it boggles my mind that there are NO towel hooks. That makes it very hard to find places for wet towels and bathing suits to dry out. There should be proper motel dressers, as it was hard to find spots for our clothes (1 smallish dresser for 4 ppl). The teeny bathroom was inconvenient as well. Nice location, though, and the pool and area by the cove are very good. Staff is friendly. Housekeeping could be more thorough (the crushed cracker on the industrial carpet that was there when we arrived remained there through our stay). If you need a place for a couple days vacation and don't plan to spend much time in the room, this will work.

Judith W.

Yelp
We are an older couple and visit The Cove once sometimes twice a year in the spring/fall season. This past week end we decided to visit in Feb. It was our first winter visit and on the evening of our next day check out we saw snow forecasted through the night into the next morning. Not wanting to be caught in a storm we decided to pack up and head back to RI. before the snow began. On the way out we explained our reason for leaving a day early and hoped we could receive some sort of a refund/credit. The manager (Bonnie) was not there but we received a voice mail today that she had refunded us the entire night's stay. It was not required but very much appreciated. In this day and age it's not often you get that kind of service. Many thanks to Bonnie and The Cove.

Bob H.

Yelp
Most excellent value. Great location, clean and well appointed rooms (we stayed in the suite @ # 46). A few minutes to the Cape Cod Rail Trail for 22 miles of excellent cycling. Beautiful view of the cove. In the heart of Orleans. We'll be back!

Stephen D.

Yelp
Waking up to find roaches in my bed was enough for me to get out of there. When I went to the front desk to tell the girl there about the situation, I was met with a "we never had that problem before" no offer for solution or anything. needless to say I will be calling the Orleans Board of health because no one should have to waste their money on a roach infested motel on the cape.

K. H.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Incredibly friendly staff, great location, clean accommodations. An all around great experience. Will definitely be back!

Mary B.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay here and we will be back again. The staff was welcoming and gracious, very helpful and responsive to our needs. The grounds were very pretty and our room had a great water view. The room was very clean & had the most comfortable bed! The motel is centrally located allowing for easy access to great beaches, restaurants and shopping. Definitely a place we will be back to!

Michelle P.

Yelp
Always stay here at The Cove! The rooms are always so cozy and clean... staying here is a must if you are visiting the area! Great staff, great prices, beautiful views, a pool!..... so much to do within walking to distance. You will not be disappointed it's my favorite place to stay here on Cape Cod every summer thank you ppl of The Cove

Michelle G.

Yelp
Nice, QUIET, clean motel with a lovely view of the Orleans Cove. Service is paid attention with detail! I will certainly be back.

Leeann A.

Yelp
We stayed at The Cove as part of an annual family reunion. We had a wonderful time! The room was clean and quant, and very "Cape Cod". It is convenient to shops and eateries, especially a wonderful bakery, creamery and The Christmas Tree Shoppe! I would highly recommend it!

Jason H.

Yelp
Great location, polite staff, and clean pool. Some of the rooms even have a full kitchen. Great for families as well as couples. Walking distance from several restaurants -- but a drive to the beach. A safe bet for a place to stay in a pinch.

John C.

Yelp
A great property well managed in a unique location. The management and staff are professional, engaging and on top of their game. The property has a great view of the Orleans town cove which makes being there a simple delight. We have been staying here for a number of years and find all of the things that you care about to be excellent and consistently delivered from year to year. Orleans has a number of good restaurants. One good advantage that the Cove offers is that you can walk to some to them.

Kathy J.

Yelp
Not impressed. We came in late from the west coast and got a late start in the morning. Left our room shortly before 1 and saw housekeeping had left a plastic bag on our doorknob. Since we saw her in another room we figured she would stop by and do our room after. Nope, the bag apparently was a "Do it yourself" kit. Stopped by the front desk later to ask if our room would be cleaned and were told housekeeper had gone home. If this were my motel, I would have offered a discount or some sort of compensation, or at least gone and vacuumed the room myself. Instead they seemed astounded that I expected my room to be cleaned and towels changed. The room is kind of smelly anyway and very outdated. Carpets gross, impossible not to track in leaves from outside. A good vacuuming would have helped but there wasn't a vacuum cleaner included in the flimsy plastic bag on our doorknob - which broke open as soon as we brought it in the room and dumped the clean towels all over the leaf-covered floor. Very disappointed.

Tanna T.

Yelp
First time visitor to the Cape and Orleans. Cute motel, clean and adequate. Stayed in a suite that overlooked the water. Decor is nautical but dated. The kitchenette was from the '80's. The pool is small and simple. Nice small outdoor patio for families and friends to gather around tables/chairs and enjoy cheese and wine. Walking distance to several stores and restaurants. If you are looking for old-fashioned (they still use a traditional key to open the doors!), no-frills place to stay, this place is quite nice.

B W.

Yelp
We stopped in when we saw the vacancy sign. Sally and Bonnie were very pleasant and offered to show us what they had available. The rooms were extremely clean, even the bathroom. The rooms were spacious, with microwave, TV, coffee pot and a refrigerator. The grounds were very nice, the waterfront view was very relaxing to look at. Plenty of seating available by the waterfront to sit and relax. The staff was very helpful in pointing out the local happening and where to get a great breakfast. Sally and Bonnie were very hospitable and had no problem with us driving in on a motorcycle. We look forward to staying at The Cove again.
