I found this business online while on the hunt for a wooden wine holder shaped as a duck for my girlfriend's mother as she had added this to her Christmas wishlist. (Yes, I know it sounds silly). I'm skeptical when it comes to online shopping with the way the world is today but I hoped for the best & ended up purchasing the item. What led me to their site was the fact that the product was way cheaper than the competitors & their shipping timeframe was promising. About a week later, I received the item and it was perfect! Exactly as described, got here quickly, and didn't cost an arm or a leg to do so! Very satisfied customer!

A+ Stellar Customer Service! They gave me space to explore the amazing pieces in their shop but were also very accommodating and helpful when asked. I love this shop! Thank you so much for my Turkish lamp! I love it so much! It also fits in 'the spot' perfectly!

From the moment you walk into the store there is such an amazing aroma. The staff is super friendly and full of great energy. The store is truly a one stop shop. It offers so many unique wooden furniture pieces. Lighting and rugs, jewelry, shoes, boots, tea, fragrance oils, custom journals, incense, and so much more. I purchased star lamp shades and jewelry. I will most definitely be returning everything is so unique and brings that zen look to any home. I would give it 10 ⭐️ if I the option.

Just went there its amazing! The guy has a large assortment of genuine artifacts from all over the world. Very large Buddha statue sits out front. Very welcoming. They dont have many crystals. They have jewelry and a pretty vast assortment of fragrances in the form of cone and stick inscence. Sorry my review is a bit sporadic but im walking from there and just wanted to shout out my guy.

Yelp
Excellent store with beautiful things and very helpful, knowledgeable staff. We were looking for a very specific thing (replacing a broken platter we loved) which they did not have, but they went the second mile brainstorming with us about where else we might look. Super friendly and helpful.

Yelp
A bit pricey but worth the funds. Unique gifts you cannot find anywhere. Staff super friendly and surely care about their customers.

Yelp
We just bought a house (yaaaay!)...and so the epic decorating battles have begun between my husband and I. The house is very 70's (think "Brady Bunch" house), so I want to go with a Barbarella vibe (if you have no idea who/what Barbarella is - friends off!). My husband, who has fully embraced my Asian heritage, wants to go full on "Farewell My Concubine". As you can imagine, this house is going to be a schizophrenic hot tranny mess. I can't wait! In one of our attempts to try to mesh our divergent and eclectic visions, we decided to take a look at some Turkish/Moroccan chandeliers for our dining room...and I remembered this adorable store in Tacoma Park. The Covered Market is a Turkish lighting *dream*. I have no idea what any of these things are called, but it was like a rainbow glass mosaic of *awesome*. In addition, the sales lady (manager? owner?) was so incredibly sweet and nice as we plagued her with 50000000 questions about colors, sizes and ridiculous needs (these mosaic balls, with that ring, but of that length, etc etc etc). Heh. And the prices weren't that bad. Yes, the chandelier we ultimately decided upon will be $500+, but we were pretty insane in what we asked for...so I'm quite sure we're the exception...not the rule. Super cute and I can't wait to figure out where to put the other hanging light that I spied. Shhhhhh...don't tell my husband...he doesn't know yet. Heh.

Yelp
I found this place while looking for a pair of earrings for a friend's birthday. My roommate said there was a Turkish store in Takoma that she liked that wasn't too far from the Metro, but she couldn't remember the name or location. I ran into the Culture Shop (also good), but she said it was a couple of blocks away from the Metro in the MD part of Takoma. I found this place (this may or may not be the place she was talking about) and it was great. Lots of gorgeous Turkish items such as lamps, plates, wall coverings (er? Can't think of a better descriptor). There's lots of stuff I'd love to buy here to make my apartment look a little less Ikea-esque (Doesn't every recent college grad have something from the Lack coffee table collection?). I particulary loved the jewelry, especially the entire wall of 2 for $20 copper earrings. The woman working was also super helpful in helping me find this amazing parrot plate (okay, it sounds kind of ugly, but it's not) for my friend and gave the same level of attentiveness to another couple of shoppers.

Yelp
Friendly guy at the store told us about the lovely items in this store -- decorative lamps and kilim rugs and bags and boots from Turkey and some ceramic items (plates, bowls, etc). While we didnt' buy anything we were impressed with the uniqueness and will think about going back for gifts or special purchases. Step at the door so it's not wheelchair accessible but I reckon the guy inside would come to the door and assist you if necessary.

Yelp
Really beautiful dishwear and amazing lamps and lanterns...a really beautiful little shop~! They also have kilims and other rugs in the back of the store. It's tiny, everything seems so fragile and I was almost scared to turn around with my purse in the way. But I look forward to going back to shop for my mother's birthday, because a lot of their goods seem to be lovely quality and just my mother's kind of style. =) Behind the building is a parking lot...much better than the metered parking. You pull into it kind of next to the big Bank of America.

Yelp
A beautiful store once you find it. The funny thing is that it isnt hidden or anything, its actually on the corner of Laurel Ave and Carroll Ave in downtown Takoma Park, about 1/2 mile from the metro station. That said there are no signs on the awning outside any of the stores here, its just the name written on one of the front windows. Finding it aside, this is one of the most beautiful stores you will ever walk into. It is a world of color. Ceramic plates and bowls, turkish rugs and handbags, gorgeous boots and slippers. Then of course the incredible mosaic lights and the star lanterns. They are so awesome they deserve a senence of their own. Prices are reasonable, and if you buy more than one item, you can usually ask for a small discount. This store is just fantastic in general! There is also a really nice (and extremely cute)guy who works during the week. If he had a price tag on him, I'd take him home in a minute. Yum!

Yelp
The Covered Market has a unique and wonderful selection of Turkish jewelry, fabric, and home furnishings (including decorative hanging lamps and figurines). Everything has beautiful color and design, and the prices are excellent. Also, there's a surprising amount of things packed wall to wall and floor to ceiling into this small store, where narrow aisles wind through with strategic spaces that allow for slipping past other customers; to me, this fed the "market" atmosphere .

Yelp
Fantastic store. Took an out of town friend there after hitting the Takoma Farmer's market and she got the most amazing boots ever. The owner was there and he's a great guy. Shop local!

Yelp
It smells wonderful, even before you walk in the door! It's cozy, colorful and the place i buy ALL of my signature scarves. EVERY scarf I have ever purchased at The Covered Market has been complimented on. EVERY one.

Yelp
I saw two lamps I liked and walked around while I came to a decision. After lunch, I came back & saw the clerk outside and let her know which one I'd picked. I thought it was very sweet of her to have it packed up when I came in. I was visiting, so I was packing it up and was pretty surprised to find the lamp had a spliced cord (half brown & half whitecovered with electric tape).I left the lamp at my friend's home & called to see if it could be returned (a $500 lamp should have an intact cord, right?). She says there's a sign that says no returns, but I didn't see it. She did agree to take it back for store credit. But my advice is to examine your potential purchase very carefully. Obviously, I have to make one trip back, but it will be my last. That wasn't the way business was done when I lived in Takoma Park.
