On a reccomendation from a local friend three of us stopped in downtown Salam's Cozy Taberna for dinner. This restaurant has an old school pub / social feel and great for a shared plate experience. As a proper taberna should, it feature a large cocktail bar, a Spanish-inspired wine list, and 24 taps of craft beer. There is also a cozy lower-level lounge. We were very impressed with the service and Cassi did an amazing job. The food reviews were mixed. The prawns were more shrimp medium size and the fried brussels sprouts were just ok. The squid ink pasta and teres major steak however were both outstanding.

Cozy is always a 10/10. First time trying brunch and it was great! We got 3 different things.. the french toast, lemon ricotta pancakes and the soft scramble on toast, which we got without mushrooms and it was really good. Not a fan of the cheese they use but that's just a personal preference. Everything was great and we'll definitely be back for brunch! I hope to see some new items rotating on the menu for that :-)

Everything we ordered was outstanding! The food, drinks, and service were outstanding. Would definately recommend! My favorite was the squid ink pasta and lamb.

Cool spot for cocktails and dinner. Don't let the back ally location scare you off!!! It's a good spot to dine, but it's busy, so reservations probably help. Enjoyed a solo dinner here seated at the bar. Flat iron steak was cooked to perfection medium rare for me. Would have been nice to have a small slice of bread or??? to go along with the steak and peppers. Service was decent but could have been a little more friendly banter from the bartender. A check in on how dinner was didn't happen till almost the end of my meal. Still a decent experience and I would try it again.

My husband and I had dinner on 7/18 at The Cozy Taberna. We had a 4:30 (Happy Hour) reservation and were seated quickly by the friendly hostess. We shared an order of bacon wrapped dates, the charcuterie board, and the squid ink pasta. The bacon wrapped dates were so good I forgot to take a picture of them! The Squid Ink Pasta was quite delicious and was served with an egg yolk on top (already mixed it in prior to taking the picture). The Taberna Charcuterie Board was amazing! We loved all the variety, especially the marcona almonds and the honey comb. Everything was delicious and our food came quickly. My husband and I had a wonderful evening and would eat at The Cozy Taberna again for a special occasion or during their happy hour.

Everything that can be said about this place has likely already been said, but I get a craving for their Clams Cataplana every now and then, so we drive almost an hour to get to the restaurant. We were staying in Silverton just this last weekend, and knowing we would be closer, I made reservations at the counter where we prefer to sit and watch/engage with the staff who prepare our meals. Always a delightful experience! Table and bar seating is also available. Their bar is exceptional and I had an opportunity to try a white Tempranillo. It was excellent and I bought a bottle to go so I can enjoy at home and order more. The food is consistently prepared, and the menu doesn't change, which pleases me. If I make the trip to enjoy something I've had before, I know I will not be disappointed. They offer a great selection of starters (my clams are found here and are enough for a whole meal, especially with the grilled bread served alongside). The entree list is limited but has a little bit of everything: salmon, scallops, pork chop, flat iron steak, etc . . . Then there are sides - amazing and uniquely delicious. They make a lemon aioli that is to die for, and one of the ways they use it is to top the crisp-tender Patatas Bravas. Oh my! And last, but not least, they have beautifully crafted desserts, including wines and after-dinner rums (never knew those existed). I took home a saffron lemon tart with candied pistachios. Unbelievable - and it was a day old! If you are *ever* in Salem, do not miss the chance to try this place! Their hours are great: 3pm til 9pm weekdays and a little later on the weekends. It's located off an alleyway, so parking is first come, but we just learned there is a parking garage right across the alley. Cheers and enjoy!!

Google
Everything was delicious! As many reviews state don’t let the alley location scare you off. Drinks, small and large plates were amazing. Save room for dessert equally as yummy!

We have been here a few times over the last couple of years and have had poor service; last night was no exception. After our drinks and an embarrassing plate of toast points (garlic bread), we ordered our entrée consisting of 3 burgers and 1 squid ink pasta. The pasta for my wife came out first, then my burger was about 10 minutes later (medium well). Waiting…waiting…. about 15 minutes later the waitress told us that “we accidently served the other 2 burgers (medium rare) to another table, and they started eating it, even though it’s not what they ordered” and then said, “your burgers are going to be another 8-10 minutes”. I don’t believe this excuse, why? Because it’s the exact same thing that happened every time we have eaten here. First question: why would pasta be the first plate to serve? Second question: why would a medium well burger come out before a medium rare burger? You see, the excuse doesn’t add up or they’re just lying… Our options are to eat cold squid ink pasta with a raw egg yolk and a cold burger -or- eat in front of my brother and sister-in-law? I assume this is standard for Salem folks but not by ours. The time the other burgers showed up, the pasta was inedible, cold and rubber like and mine was cold as well but ate it anyway because I hadn’t eaten all day. Then after a very awkward exchange with what I understood to be a manager, she ended up removing the cost of our food from the bill… We didn’t go to this restaurant looking for a free meal; we were out spending time together as a family to reflect on the wonderful life of our youngest brother who is no longer with us. This is a substandard restaurant (Michelin star for Salem people) I knew this going in but thought we would give it another chance. We will never return and please spare me with the “we’re sorry ‘bout that” and “we strive as a company to achieve the best customer service” schtick. You have and will never get it right, however, by Salem’s standards you will be here for a long time. A word of advice to ‘Cozy’ be honest from the top down, don’t tell your servers to lie, if you were honest, I wouldn’t be writing this review…

Yelp
Tucked in a little alley in Salem, Cozy Taberna lives up to its name with a warm, inviting atmosphere and an open kitchen that makes the dining experience feel personal and interactive. We were lucky to sit at the chef's seating area, which gave us a front-row view of the action in the kitchen, a real treat if you enjoy watching dishes come together in real time. We started with a simple but delicious combo: warm olives and salted almonds. Both were thoughtfully seasoned and served warm, a detail that made them feel extra comforting. I only managed to get photos of these two before we got swept up in the rest of the meal! The goat dumplings in arrabbiata sauce were unexpected, more like tender pockets of goat cheese cooked in hot water than traditional dumplings wrapped in dough but still flavorful with a pleasant kick from the sauce. The seared scallop was one of my favorites, perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. We also tried the patatas bravas, which were just okay for me, but a must-have according to my son. The meatballs, however, were a hit with my partner and son. We ended on a high note with the molten chocolate cake, which was absolutely to die for, warm, gooey, and rich with every bite. Pure molten deliciousness! If you're looking for a spot with great food, a cozy ambiance, and a bit of a hidden-gem feel, Cozy Taberna is well worth a visit

Yelp
We were visiting our son who has just moved to the Salem area, and we had a week to check out the restaurants. Cozy Taberna was our best dining overall in Salem. They are serving up Spanish inspired tapas small plates, with some large plates as well. Prices were on par compared to what we spend at home. We had a reservation at the chefs counter, and so we were able to watch all the food being prepared and served. Tons of scallops and salmon a plank were served! We did not have either of those dishes, or the burger, which looked outstanding. We enjoyed the Patatas bravas and bacon wrapped dates to start. The dates were deliciously smoky! Pasta with squid ink pasta was tasty as well, but perhaps a notch too salty for my personal taste. Service, coursing and timing were great along with a very nice waitress. We did engage a little with the chefs, but there was no welcome when we sat down. The place was hopping so we did not want to bother them much. Usually when we sit at a chefs counter it is a more welcoming , interactive and engaging experience. We will absolutely be back here on our next visit to Salem

Yelp
My wife and I had never been here before but the couple we were dining with had. We started with the salad, Brussel sprouts and asparagus: all very good, tasty and a great way to start the meal. I ordered the flat iron steak while the others all had the Bacon Manchego burger. Unfortunately, my steak came out cold the first time and by the time it came back, it was only lukewarm but the shishito peppers had steam coming off them. Of course, everyone else had finished long ago so I finished my steak so we could leave. One note about the peppers is that they leave the stems on so unless you can cut them with a knife, they're pretty much garnish. Our server, Angie, was very nice and attentive. When the check came, our friends noticed that we had been charged $8 for a soft drink refill. He questioned that and also asked that there be some consideration for my steak - in the end, she removed the refill charge and also comped the steak which was unexpected. We will probably go back but I'll most likely get the burger next time.

Yelp
This is a fantastic special occasion restaurant. The food is delicious and sharable. The service is top notch. The lower lounge is less noisy and accessible by inside stairs.Their alcoholic drinks are fairly priced. Take your date here and make a positive lasting impression. Its not cheap but worth every penny spent.Highly recommend...Oh,and the desserts are the best you will ever find anywhere.

Yelp
Just wuauuuuuu. Amazing service, amazing atmosphere. Love that you can see the chefs cooking. Highly recommended

Yelp
This place never disappoints! Came here for Father's Day. We had the steak, salad, scallops and the cheesecake. All very delicious and beautifully presented. Service was great as well and couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. The sun was out, had a great time!

Yelp
We have eaten at The Cozy several times. Our most recent experience was with a spirit tasting. We signed up for the Don Julio Tequila tasting, this was the first event in a series of 12. We were not sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. There were about 10 other people that attended the event, and we were welcomed by the owner, the beverage director and the chef. The chef had prepared a wonderful buffet to enjoy during our event. The beverage director mixed up a very unique cocktail which was waiting for us when we took our seats, this was a Tequila old fashioned, which was very good. The distribution representative for Don Julio introduced himself and began a slide presentation of the history of Tequila and the methods of distillation. Overall it was a wonderful event with great food, excellent tequila and even an educational experience. Highly recommend the spirit tastings

Yelp
Nestled in downtown Salem, Cozy Taberna truly lives up to its name with a welcoming atmosphere and lively energy. All of the happy guests sets the stage for a great experience, and its no wonder locals recommend the cedar plank salmon. During my visit, I decided to try the Charcuterie Board. The presentation was on point, though I did find the portion a little small for the price. Still, a great spot for gathering with friends or enjoying a casual evening out. If you're looking for good food and a vibrant setting, is worth checking out!

Yelp
Favourite restaurant in Salem hands down. Usually get a bunch of small shareable plates which always hits but this time got a burger and it went above expectations. Drinks are gas too

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Salem. The first time I went, I was alone and it was difficult because the menu is meant for sharing. I didn't find the staff was very helpful and figuring out the right portions. I had leftovers- which is fine- but the restaurant didn't have forks or napkins, which made it difficult to enjoy my leftovers in my hotel room. I returned with my husband in Oct 2024 and it was a much better experience once I had an eating partner. Each course was delicious and we had a great time! I highly recommend the Cozy Taberna, but it's not as enjoyable as a solo diner.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant in Salem. Visited this place twice during my 2 day visit to the city. We ordered their lamb chops (the best) along with garlic shrimp and sourdough bread (delicious). For desserts we ordered their cheesecake and their version of choco lava cake with ice cream. We devoured their desserts. They make some really nice cocktails - we stuck to old fashioned for both the visits. The service is great, ambience is cozy and for parking there is a garage nearby. All in all highly recommend this place in Salem.

Yelp
Great spot for a chill dinner! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, perfect for winding down. The food was tasty and the prices were very reasonable--good value for the quality. Definitely a solid go-to for a low-key night out.

Yelp
This place is amazing from top to bottom! The food was phenomenal. Everything our group of six ordered was fresh and delicious. Recommend sharing plates for everything because the food is portioned well to do that. The service was some of the best we have experienced anywhere in the area. Our server was sweet and patient with us as this was our first visit and we had a lot of questions. You enter the restaurant from the alley so we were pleasantly surprised at the warm and inviting interior and our cosy booth for six. My only regret is I forgot to take pictures of the food that was definitely picture worthy. We will be back!
google avatar

Heather J.

Yelp
Greta ambience and service. Food was amazing. Cedar plank salmon is a must get. Didn't love the fresh baked brioche... just not much wow factor (seemed like overpriced bread).
google avatar

Cathy Q.

Yelp
It's not even open from 3-9pm. What the heck? Maybe I misunderstood your posted hours above.
google avatar

Rich M.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere! The Teres Major Steak and Flat Iron Steak were both perfectly cooked, and the sides were delicious.

Sheila K.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the food and drinks here and overall delightful. We had the squid ink pastaw which was salty but the flavors made it a great dish, the goat cheese dumplings with garlic bread was awesome as was the charcuterie board and bacon wrapped figs. Drinks were good and probably had we not ordered the Baked Alaska it would have been great but 27 dollars for the that dessert was a big disappointment and definitely not worth 27 dollars. I love going out and prices were stated but it was meh and ended the meal on a down note. We were at kitchen bar so we saw Tillamook ice cream being served so maybe they are using that which is basic but also it was just taken from pie plate and put on a plate and handed to us. Presentation did not help as we watched all the other desserts go out and expected more.

Yelp
I want to give Cozy TWELVE stars!!! We had the most incredible dining experience!!! We sat at the kitchen counter and were placed right next to where the runners pick up the food. Several folks commented that we had the best seats in the house and they weren't wrong! All the runners, waitstaff, and the sous chef were so awesome. They answered our questions and gave us so much insight to the food and running of the service which was an incredibly well-oiled machine! We definitely got dinner and a show! We saw every option on the menu except for two things so we want to come back to order based on what we saw. Thank you so much to Bill and his incredible team!
google avatar

Hugh F.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the friendly staff and atmosphere that they curated here. Truly a great experience with incredible food to boot. The dish was perfect thank you so much! I'll be sure to return and bring the family along, there are too many amazing options for me to order alone. Haha. Again, Kudos! Toodles my friends.

Yelp
Popped in on a Saturday night and while I highly recommend reservations, there was room at the bar or at the chef's counter. Be aware, if you choose the latter it can get too warm near the ovens and cooktop. Service at the bar was great and the food was spectacular. The Spanish style and flare offers something for every taste without an overwhelming menu. You get the sense of a well planned and designed selection. The ambiance wasn't too noisy either. As a long time local resident who moved away and returned to visit, this was a great new find. My only critique would be that it's a bit expensive.
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
Consistently flavorful and wonderful. Here are a few of the newer menu items. Only thing holding me back from 5 stars is that they often forget to give me a big ice cube for my cocktail even when I ask. Easy mistake.

That G.

Yelp
The Wine Pairing dinner was easily Michelin star worthy. That was one of the best dinner experiences I've ever had. Every single meal was unique, originally crafted and perfectly matched with each glass of wine. The Cozy owner & the vineyard of the night explains how they created all the foods and drinks served, offering both an awesome learning experience and inviting environment. This dinner took the number 1 spot of the best dinner experience I've ever had.
google avatar

Cindy M.

Yelp
The Cozy Taberna is still one of my favorite places to visit. Mainly only special occasions now since we've been multiple times for social events either friends and family in the past. I know they are now under different ownership from the previous times we've been, but we are still getting the same good quality service and food.
google avatar

Carrie B.

Yelp
I used to love this place, mainly because the cozy lounge downstairs has been a great option for a quiet dining experience with my mom, who's hard of hearing. Sadly, they've made some changes to the lounge and it's now pretty tacky. They put up a few huge TV screens that rotate through close-up pictures of the food and pictures of the owner with random people. Why would I need to see this?? The food and drinks are still great. But spending $50+ for 3 scallops is just silly.
google avatar

Evelina V.

Yelp
Had a girlfriend date here. The interior is moody and cute. Great spot for date night. Food here is meant to be had family style and good comes out as it's prepared. We can the salmon and a couple apps and that was plenty for us! Our waitress was friendly as well

Dianne B.

Yelp
Fantastic place! Food, drinks, servers are all amazing! On our short three day stay in Salem we ate dinner there twice! The menu options are so creative and well done. Excellent chef and management! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great experience! We were able to make a reservation which was nice, when we arrived we got seated right away. All food was amazing, perfect service and ambiance! Chocolate molten cake is a must!

Yelp
I am so in love with this spot. The food is amazing (HUGE portions). You can absolutely get multiple plates and share. The drinks are beautiful and tasty. Service was incredible, all the staff were super friendly and efficient. I love the ambiance also, it's cozy but spacious. Just dark enough for a little bit of romance but welcoming enough for a special family dinner.

Candi L.

Yelp
You know I don't write reviews much and I could go into detail but the first time back in April we thought it was good. I didn't eat much but my friends loved it. For 5 of us we spent $400. Tonight the two of us had a bill of $179 without tip. It was as if they purposely took the flavor out of everything. I sent the Asparagus away because it had zero taste. Of course it's insulting if you have to ask for salt but for $23 those 6 spears should be amazing. The Brussels sprouts were good, pork short ribs tasted. $62 for Paella that was ok. Grilled garlic rubbed bread, no taste. No garlic, it tasted like olive oil on toast. The Lemon Curd Coconut Custard Cake looked so good but it was not so great. It tasted stale and the whipped cream as well. The Burnt Cheesecake looked good but it was more of a custard, not much taste. The staff is great and friendly and really hustled and we were at the bar and they were all very busy cooking. I am hoping it might just be an off night but it is kind of expensive to experience an off night. I will try it again and it will tell me if perhaps it was just that.
google avatar

Katharine L.

Yelp
Service, food, and atmosphere were all so great! Had the steak and loved it!! Good drinks too! Very impressed!

Lexi S.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite restaurant in town. Brittani used to be head chef and the dishes were always flavorful and creative. I used to bring out of towners here, have girls night here, or just enjoy a romantic dinner. Now sadly the food just tastes like salt. The staff and drinks are still wonderful but the food is now bland and disappointing. I still enjoyed the patas bravas but didn't enjoy any other dishes. Even ones we've had before. This includes radicchio salad, black garlic half chicken, and grilled garlic rubbed bread. We usually grab dessert but I was so skeptical after that dinner that we didn't opt for it. Overall it was disappointing as it was a favorite, but I wouldn't go again unless the food changes drastically.

Yelp
We visited for brunch on a Sunday morning. Our server and, indeed, the menu, were both misleading in terms of portion sizes. There were four of us and three of the orders arrived in actual meal sized portions suitable for sharing if you wanted to - for anywhere between $15 and $20... kinda pricey for pancakes, but okay. However, one order, a Tortilla de Patatas, was more like a miniature slice of quiche. It was literally three bland bites for $15. We had to order an additional item to even approach something shareable. This, after the server specifically said that their portions were large enough for sharing. Can't say there was anything that stood out about the service. Not worth another visit, especially for the relatively outrageous prices.
google avatar

Bartly C.

Yelp
Highly recommended by another chef and restaurant owner for a flavorful meal. No vegetarian main coarse options other than salad and a starter and not willing to modify or adapt a vegi main coarse Sad - as. I Have to leave and go to the steak house next door which has two main coarse options vegetarian. Vibe of establishment is amazing with a good bar vibe. Hope the chef s able to modify options in the future

Yelp
Great ambiance. Good food. I think it would be a great place for larger party than just the wife and I. The portions are quite large and are made for sharing. I was kind of taken back by the prices on the menu but after receiving our food realized that a lot of the portions are for sharing. With that we over ordered for just the two of us. Took food home. Unfortunately I'm traditionally not one that likes leftovers. You'll love the atmosphere here no doubt. And the food is well presented and quite good. The one thing that kind of bugged me was that we had multiple servers during our visits. There seemed to be a lack of continuity to it all. We had to wave someone down to ask for additional items multiple times instead of our waiter noticing and attending to us. I also thought the way they do the tipping is weird. I didn't notice that a tip had already been placed on our bill and ended up adding an additional sizable tip. I thought the bill seemed rather high but.... Didn't notice until I got home. That one was on me. My bad. We've been twice now (figured everyone can have a bad night) but second visit the service was even worse. I doubt we'll return.
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
I have been here once, when visiting from out of town. It is downtown, and parking might be a little ways a way, so if you have mobility issues, you may need to consider that. But, overall, the atmosphere, the food, the service were all very gratifying. Pricing gets up there, as with all small plate restaurants, but it was a fun place to try! The dishes we shared were: - A picture of sangria which was lovely - A salad with pickled strawberries and rhubarb and spicy hazelnuts which was delicious - Goat cheese dumplings with garlic bread, which was tasty - Sirloin Steak with mushroom sauce was very nice - Grilled asparagus with crispy prosciutto and lemon vinaigrette which was wonderful - Patatas bravas were okay - House made brioche with war, salted honey which was unique It was a very enjoyable dining experience! I would gladly come back!

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing service. We sat at the chef's table and were entertained all evening. I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts, teres major steak, and the molten lava cake which was the best I've ever had. The scallops were also top notch as was the rest of the food. It is spendy but well worth it for a nice night out.

Yelp
This was my first visit here. Came for my mom's birthdays. She has been here several times. First off I love the location and the ambiance. We made reservations and were sat right in front of the open kitchen. Pretty neat watching all the action. We ordered some drinks that were delicious. Paloma and some elderflower drink. Both were good. For food we shared the quod in pasta which my mom had before and loved it. This time she said it was on the salty side. I would have to agree it came out pretty salty but the flavor was great. The scallops were decent. I prefer a nice hard sear on them. I wouldn't order them again. Now the lamb chops were cooked perfectly and had great flavor to them. Highly recommend. Overall a great first experience. I will be back. Definitely go check them out.

Yelp
We are frequent visitors to Cozy. While the food is always yummy, recently we noticed their menu doesn't change like it used too and the service has slipped. They need changes to their menu more often.
google avatar

Yelp
this was me and hubbys first time here, n we ordered the potatoes w red sauce and aioli, the goat cheese dumplings, and the manchego burger to share. everything was delicious, but out favorite actually ended up being the potatoes. the sauce was slightly sweet n i thought it complimented the potatoes perfectly. would come again just for the potatoes!!!

Yelp
Our first night out to the Cozy Taberna tonight, and what an enjoyable night! Lately, it seems very hard to find a really nice restaurant in the Salem area. There are 3 or 4 we frequent pretty regularly, but tonight was our anniversary, and we were looking for something different than the regular places. We sat at The Chef's Counter. It was a bar-style seat, but the seats were comfortable. Sitting there was very nice. First of all, it's cold in Salem right now, and second, the heat from the grills and ovens made it super comfortable. It was also very interesting to watch the food being prepared. The chefs all seemed to be enjoying their work. One thing that stood out for me was how, with each piece of meat that was taken from a grill or oven, a meat thermometer was used to check the temperature. This impressed me. All the dishes are made to share, and the menu looked really good, so we ordered four items: Fried Brussel Sprouts, Radiccio Salad, Moroccan Brick Chicken, and Sirloin Bavette Steak. I wasn't crazy about the radiccio salad. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't for me. The brussel sprouts, chicken, and steak were a different story. I couldn't get enough of them! The brussel sprouts were sweet and savory. The chicken was pretty spicy, in a Moroccan way. And the steak was perfect! It wasn't until it was gone that we remembered it was "just a sirloin steak". In short, dinner was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The atmosphere was great. The music was very tasteful. We'll definitely return for another great evening.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Last time I was there I didn't like it. Then I went again and sat upstairs and found it pleasant. Good salad.

Kimberly A.

Yelp
Over priced, the ribs taste like propane, the brussel sprouts are over charred but cold in the middle and the potatoes are home fries. Great staff and the atmosphere is cozy, but the food is very disappointing and we wouldn't recommend it to visitors to the area.
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
Just wow. Finally, Salem. You now have yourselves a proper restaurant. Exceptionally prepared and served. Wonderful experience.
google avatar

Kathleen A.

Yelp
We wanted tapas. This was billed as a tapas restaurant yet, there were no tapas on menu. Yes... you can order appetizers and share them, and share dinner items, but tapas is a completely different service style and vibe and it was disappointing. What we had was good, service was okay just not a tapas experience/menu. It's also pricey.
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Okay, I'll start by saying that this place is NOT cheap. But you are truly paying for flavorful, quality food. The bone marrow board is an experience if you've never tried bone marrow before. You get to spoon out the marrow into fresh bread, which ends up tasting like rich umami buttered bread. 10/10. The drinks are great, too. They pair very well with the food. Next time I'll have to try one of the main entrees. The ambiance is relaxing, and the service is attentive. I like that the front of the place can completely open up for a cozy alfresco feel.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST food I have had in a VERY long time. I'm taking my mom here for her birthday soon. Services is exceptional. It was very busy yet the waitress was incredibly attentive. If I could give this more than 5 stars I would.

Yelp
Food & Drinks were wonderful. Asked for a rum old fashion, not on menu, it was perfect. The clams in a delicious broth were cooked perfectly tender. Had the Scallops, which were also perfectly cooked. Good sear, just cooked thru. We live in the Coast and are usually cautious about ordering seafood in the valley, but Cosy Taberna delivered. Had the Harvest salad and an appetizer sandwich with chorizo that were both really good. Service & Atmosphere are top notch, love the cozy dimly main floor

Yelp
The regular menu is smaller then i had hoped and everything seems way over priced for salem even the happy hour. Great place if you have money to burn and want to impress people as the ambiance is nice. $20+ ceasar salad even if it is a share size is ridiculous. You wouldnt and couldnt find those prices for a ceasar salad at Nines hotel in Portland. $10 for a 1# of potatoes bravas is kind of worth it i suppose if they werent so over cooked and seasoned. Over all service was great, but those prices are something else. Will double back for another trip should shortly, as service was more then welcoming.

Yelp
As first time visitors to Salem, we used Google maps to find the restaurant. When we arrived at the address, the doors were locked fortunately there were signs directing us all the way around the corner to an alley, where we finally located this lovely restaurant in a rather bleak part of town. Initially, the hostess was reluctant to seat us, since we didn't have reservations however the manager interceded, and directed us to a table in the bar area. We had wonderful dinner and drinks. We ordered a radicchio salad, mussels, and grilled Salomon, all were excellent. The manager made sure we were happy and took time to talk about our experience as new visitors to the Willamette Oregon area. While it is unlikely we will be back to the Salem area, if you find yourself in downtown Salem, I would encourage you to take time to visit this wonderful restaurant.
