The Cranky Croc Hostel

Great hostel, we stayed in the pods and there was so much space and privacy. The staff were so helpful and lovely and helped us arrange walking tour and transfers. Would stay again 😊

Having stayed in a few hostels in Colombia (and around the world), I’d highly recommend the Cranky Croc. The room was clean and the activity schedule was full of different things for travellers to do. Particular shout out to Camilla who worked both the days I stayed. She lead a fun language exchange which helped teach us some local slang as well as providing a good opportunity to socialise with other travellers. She also gave some really good recommendations for local bars and restaurants which I went on to visit and had a great time at. Would highly recommend.

Staff super friendly and always willing to help. Food was very good value for money and the Ausie BBQ was amazing! Also they can organise really good activitys and trips. Location was perfect for us and would recomend this Hostel to anyone coming to Bogota.

This is a great hostel! Perfect if you are looking for a social hostel, it attracts a lot of travelers who are down to socialize - it has a common area and a bar. What's really great is a handful of tours start at this hostel. I took the downtown food tour from here and they also have La Chorrera tours and bike tours. They also have pub crawls and barbecue social dinners during the evenings! They do have a restaurant which serves breakfast but I didn't try their breakfast here - the traditional restaurants around the cathedral were the ones I wanted to try for food! Tap water is safe to drink here. The beds are comfortable and I give this hostel the award for the best dorm rooms ever - maximum privacy; the beds are like in their own pods, not just bunk beds so you are relatively isolated and you won't get bothered by other guests trying to get to their spaces. The staff are friendly and I was very thankful they had a sim card that I can just buy from them as my local carrier wouldn't work in Colombia for some reason! Overall, I highly recommend this hostel. This is not a party hostel but it has a chill vibe and really suited for tourists to the city! Only its location didn't receive perfect score from me because the area immediately around the hostel is quite uninteresting - you have to walk a few blocks to see interesting stuff in the historic center. Not a deal breaker by any chance.

Stayed here for 4 nights in a Double room and it was very comfortable. The beds were great, the bathroom was wonderful with very hot water and the Wifi worked well in all areas. The staff are absolutely fabulous. Roberto, Leo and Camilla thank you so much!! Shall go back for sure 👍🏼

Best sleep i had in bogota. Mini rooms were great. Vibe was pretty lame though. Semi loud party music in a dead vibe just feels kinda sad. Great customer service though

Stayed here for three nights and had a great stay. The owner is kind and cooked us an awesome BBQ the second night we were there so if you get the chance to sign up for it make sure you do. The staff is also super helpful and friendly, we ate breakfast every morning there because the food was good plus it was convenient. Would highly recommend the Colombian breakfast. The location was perfect we did not have to cab to any of the touristy spots, they were all within walking distance and the hostel puts on multiple different daily tours, my only complaint is I did not have enough time to try more. The walking tour I would highly recommend and hopefully you get Nick because he did an amazing job taking us around. The private room was very clean and the bed was comfy enough so all in all a great place to stay, I recommend this hostel to anyone coming to Bogota. Thanks so much to Andy and your staff for making our experience so easy and fun we will be back!
