Visitors to Bogota, ||I found the Cranky Croc a bit by accident 5 years ago; this as I was working to start a small advocacy nonprofit in Colombia working with refugees. Over the early years of our work I stayed in about every hostel in Bogota. The Cranky Croc has been the best place by far – this when traveling alone or with my partner, now my wife. I most recently arrived in Bogota with my wife and our three children. They have always found us a good space at a good price. They have all cotton sheets, super clean bathrooms and showers, plenty of hot water and a nice kitchen with a great stove, fridge and oven for the use of guests. They have a little café open all day with healthy food and if you really want they can make you nice spicy French fries and serve you an IPA from tap. | |In their large space there has always been a quite spot to work, or hold a conference call or fiddle on one of their guitars when feeling a bit melancholy. It is located in the most interesting part of Bogota – Candelaria (old town), with close access to climb Montserrat to the church that overlooks the city. It’s close to the Sunday flea market and restaurants ranging from bohemian to artsy to the quite fancy. | |To be complete I should mention – its spotless, staff are very kind, super friendly and pleasantly philosophical if in need of a little conversation. | |It’s just the best. ||Douglas Lyon MD |Founder of TodoSomos.org
