The Crown Goa

This has been my preferred choice of hotel for years:|Location:|It is the best located hotel in Panjim. From the entrance if you turn one way you with 4 mins walk will reach the Immaculate Conception Church, June Road, with all the shops and restaurants. The other exit from the hotel leads you in 2 mins walk to the historic Fontainhas area.|The Crown has the most stunning view of the Mandovi River, especially at night when the bridge is lit up.|Amenities:|The Crown serves with full amenities including beautiful and well maintained pool and grounds. There is also an in house Spa and casino.|The rooms are super clean, quiet, very roomy, comfortable and fully equipped. They have recently received a decor upgrade. The standard has remained consistent and high through the years.|Staff:|The staff in its entirety, are warm and courteous and keen to assist in any way. Too many names to mention, but particular praise to Brenda who made sure that my stay was the best it could be. All the reception, cleaning and security staff were wonderful too.|Restaurant:|The Harbour Cafe has a pleasant ambience. I had a a special curated meal prepared by Chef Amol, that was absolutely delicious and they went the extra mile with the presentation. Bosco who was serving us was warm and pleasant and was observant of our needs. The breakfast spread was always good however, I felt that it had stepped up from previous years it terms of taste and variety. There was a good choice of western and eastern choices.|A thoroughly pleasant and comfortable stay and I would like to convey my appreciation to all the team.

recently stayed at The Crown Goa Hotel, and my experience was absolutely amazing! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with their warm smiles and professional service. The check-in process was smooth and quick. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a modern touch. The bed was super comfortable, and the view from my balcony was breathtaking — especially during sunrise! The food at the restaurant was exceptional — every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of both local and international dishes.

Very Good and polite front office staff. Specially Assistant Front Office Manager Lee and Aslam with a good hospitality. Hotel is very beautiful with many recreation facilities. Great location which is facing towards breathtaking mandovi river views.Room very neat and clean and spacious thanks to Raghu Houskeeping manager .Wonderful breakfast with a choice for every diet with dietary options thanks to F&B Manager Bosco and Executive Chef Amol.Food is very tasty.All of them very kind staff and great value for money. More Show than Substance The Crown Goa talks a big game about being a five-star property, but the reality is far more underwhelming. Sure, the location on Altinho's hillside is genuinely spectacular, and those Mandovi River views from the pool area are postcard-worthy. But here's the thing—a nice view doesn't compensate for fundamentally mediocre execution across the board. This place feels stuck in a time warp, trying to coast on its heritage charm while failing to deliver on the premium experience it promises and charges for. The property is compact (almost cramped, really), and while some staff members genuinely tried to make things work, the overall service quality swung wildly from excellent to incompetent depending on who was on duty. I found myself constantly lowering my expectations throughout my stay. It's the kind of place that looks better in photos than it feels in person. If you're comparing this to actual five-star properties in other Indian cities, you'll be sorely disappointed. It works as a convenient Panaji base if you manage your expectations appropriately, but calling this luxury is a stretch by any reasonable standard. LOCATION:I'll give credit where it's due—the location is genuinely excellent. You're perched above Panaji with sweeping river views, walking distance to the Immaculate Conception Church (5 minutes), Fontainhas quarter, and the floating casinos. The Old Secretariat bus stop is barely 150 meters away. Miramar Beach is a 10-minute drive, and you can easily access Old Goa's churches and Fort Aguada. The trade-off? You're about 40 minutes from the North Goa beach scene at Baga and Calangute—so if you're coming to Goa for beach clubs and water sports, this location isn't ideal. But for exploring Panaji itself and having river views, it's hard to beat. This is genuinely the one thing Crown Goa gets absolutely right. DINE + DRINK: Breakfast was a not too bad and is worth waking up for, as they have a good selection of local and regional delicacies. ROOM: I stayed in Room 505, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: Sweet view of the Mandovi river from the Glass windows ; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting me to sleep; BATHROOM:Good sized bathroom with a Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Ok quality toiletries, bring your own! FACILITIES: Decent Gym with a basic range of weights, workout stations, and Cardio machines. They have a nice outdoor pool too, that is a bit compact though. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! Good sized Smart TV dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment in multiple languages

This hotel beautifully located on a hill-top overlooking the Mandovi river and the Atal Setu is a perfect getaway from the traffic bustle. The rooms are spread over 5 floors, higher the room better the view and of course higher the price. Its a huge resort, with all the essentials like pool, casino, children play area, restaurant, board room, etc. Pool however is located just beside the reception, and do not offer any privacy. The taste of the food ordered was steictly ok, although i tried a limited items. Room was large with a balcony. Although you cant open the windows after the evening with the risk of insects entering and troubling your sleep. The floor and the furniture demands an upgrade and the age of the resort is clearly catching up. A 32 inch smart tv in such a large room is not justified. You will have to walk down the hill to get a local commute. Children play area is at rhe backside which will attract lot of mosquitoes in the evening. However, full marks to the staff, i even got very early check in. Overall, i would recommend to look for other options at this price point.

Worst ever 5 star hotel I have stayed. Don’t be fooled by good reviews on Google. Detailed review: - Don’t get surprised after reaching the hotel as the photos you saw on Google Maps doesn’t match at all. - Cool mode is not there in the AC, your room not cool consistently - Cockroaches are everywhere in the room, washroom, lift, etc. - Room key must be recharged daily after 12 PM at the reception, otherwise it won’t unlock your door anymore - Water bottles are not provided daily in your room, you must wait 20-30 minutes after calling the housekeeper to get drinking water - Floor mats are not provided - Don’t open balcony as insects are everywhere - Pillows are in different shape for extra discomfort - Don’t dare to use the common washroom if you don’t want to enjoy the horrible scent. - Take steps instead of using the lifts if you don’t like the smell of cockroach spray - Vomit might happen while you’re inside any lifts, so it’s better if you can carry an oxygen tank with you all the time - Be careful in washrooms as you might get electric shock here and there - Have patience if you want to watch TV as the OS is extremely slow, it’s not your remote’s fault - Tiles are coming out, so take your steps carefully - Walls are dirty everywhere, so it’s better to take photos in the swimming pool - Ready made tea taste like the milk is burnt, so maybe you can try coffee Pros: - Food is good, at least most of the dishes are good - The river view is awesome

Had a fantastic stay here for three nights. The hotel is clean, modern, and in a perfect location for exploring the city. The room was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and always willing to help. The complimentary breakfast was a huge plus, with plenty of tasty choices. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.
