Top quality, friendly home from home hotel. Great atmosphere; inviting bar with comfy sofas and excellent bar snacks or restaurant food. Lovely terraces in summer or open fire in winter. Dog friendly bedrooms - copper bath rooms also have private terraces. Interesting guests who invariably vow to return. Perfect location with a short stroll into the town or down to the beach. You won’t be disappointed

Amazing food, wine and whole experience. Big thank you to Oscar the barman who entertained us from afternoon drinks which made us want to come back for an exquisite meal. Lovely staff, incredible food and then a wonderful night cap again with Oscar who made delicious espresso martini. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

We ate Sunday lunch at The Crown Hotel on 3rd August. What a fabulous wine menu. The prawn cocktail was full of prawns and the camambert bites were delicious. The chicken tagliatelle main course was full of delicious mushrooms in a creamy sauce. The roast beef was pink just as I like it. I would of loved a portion of cauliflower cheese with lunch. The side order of vegetables was enough and the roast potatoes were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside perfectly cooked. We really didn't have room left for dessert. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was a busy lunchtime and the bill never came to our table so we paid at bar. We really enjoyed our lunch and will be back. We did not stay in the hotel so I am unable to rate the hotel rooms.

We had a wonderful stay here! We got a room last minute and it was fab! Extremely clean and lovely! Breakfast was great and all the staff were friendly and efficient. The location is perfect, just a short drive to the beach. We will definitely stay here again. 5*

What a gem!|Everything from the staff, to the rooms, to the food. We could not fault a single thing.|Booking and check in was simple and straightforward, our puppy was given her own special bed, towel and treats.|Our room - 20, with an enclosed private courtyard and copper bath - was immaculate, comfortable and roomy.|The food was excellent. First night we had smoked mackerel pate and crab spring rolls, followed by steak and a grilled halloumi on couscous. Second night hubby went for the spring rolls after me raving so much about them, and I had the oysters, then steak again and chicken tagliatelle - the sauce was divine!!|Both breakfasts were great. A lovely choice of cereals, yoghurtts and fruits, followed by whatever you fancied cooked, from a full English, to porridge to smashed avocado - our puppy, Rosie, even got her own breakfast sausage!|We could not recommend a visit to this coastal gem more!

We booked our 3 night stay with a couple of friends having been recommended to The Crown Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the friendly and helpful staff to the comfort of the room and the quality of the cooking at dinner and breakfast everything was excellent. The public rooms are delightful and the bar is cozy and welcoming. We are very keen to return after such a memorable visit.

Fantastic hotel. Super staff, nothing too much trouble. Excellent room , we had a small issue with the shower which was fixed within a couple of hours. Menu very good, disappointed that the crab salad wasn’t available ( fishermen not out in their boats , so not the hotels problem. ) can’t speak highly enough to recommend this hotel. Huge thank you to all the staff who looked after us.

We had a wonderful stay at The Crown, our first time on the Norfolk coast. The location is just enough in town to be convenient, but set back enough to be relatively quiet and private. We came by car and the on-site car park was a big plus in this busy town. Nice though that it's hidden within the old garden walls. The website pictures under-represent how cozy and charming the hotel is and how many different spaces are available to guests on the ground floor. We especially loved the library-like feel of the dining rooms and the wealth of old documents and artifacts that grace the walls in general. It was always easy to find a staff member, and everyone was helpful. The delicious breakfast (lots of options) included with the room adds great value. Worth the price!

Yelp
Came for dinner with a group. Food was decent and restaurant has several areas to eat in. We had roast lamb, which was tasty and a variety of other dishes. The menu was structured so you could choose one, two or three courses. Most of us had 2 courses. There is a full bar as part of the hotel. Location is central to the buttlands which is main village square area.

Yelp
My husband Andrew and I traveled to England for a wedding 6/22. We were also celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary on 6/23. Andrew arranged a one night stay for us here at The Crown...wow I wish it was a few more nights! He had contacted the hotel in advance in order to set up some special surprises for our anniversary. Kelly was the one who assisted him. We both worked in the hospitality industry and were extremely impressed by our entire experience. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff. They offered us homemade lemonade while we checked in. They escorted us upstairs to our room (#10 I think it was). We walked in and I was floored...they had arranged red and white long stemmed roses, paper hearts strew across the wall above the bed and the desk (paper for 1 year wedding anniversary! This was Kelly's idea when my husband called). There were fresh chocolates on a platter from a local chocolate maker that read "Happy Anniversary" and the lady who walked us to our room told us the champagne was on its way up! Also that we had dinner reservations at the restaurant and we could place our breakfast in bed order that evening as well. This was SO amazing. My husband did call ahead to arrange this but Kelly executed it flawlessly and we felt like a King and Queen! The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I had slept on in over 10 days and the room was fabulous. I couldn't have asked for more! The restaurant was also wonderful. The service was great and the food was amazing. The Crown is a perfect place for a romantic stay in a cozy town by the sea. Thank you Kelly and staff!!!

Yelp
Had a lovely high tea here today with some friends. We found it reasonably priced, the service was great, nice ambience and the food was yummy. Minus one star only for the lack of parking.
