Can’t praise it enough to be honest. Lovely place with a great atmosphere and amazing food. The sourdough starter was so good, we ordered in a second one after the mains! Never tasted bread like it. Our server Kingsley was brilliant, even with our fussy requests. Thanks for a lovely meal, will definitely be back!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Crown on Sunday, July 6, 2025, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The staff were professional, warm, and incredibly helpful, making the experience all the more enjoyable. But the true star of the visit was the food — absolutely amazing! I savoured every bite of their Sunday roast, and it was nothing short of impeccable. The roast beef was melt-in-your-mouth decadent, the piping hot gravy was rich and flavourful, and the Yorkshire pudding was light and fluffy — perfection on a plate. And don’t even get me started on the roasted potatoes — golden, crispy, and seasoned to perfection! The Crown truly delivered an unforgettable Sunday dining experience.

We’ve enjoyed this pub on occasion for years, but hadn’t been in a while and they’ve had a proper revamp. It’s still the same lovely pub, but now they’ve made it into the best possible version. Exceptionally nice decor, with incredible attention to detail. The food is even better than it was before, and they have a really good range of beers on tap, including a really good 0%. The staff are all great. It’s also big enough pub that if a bigger party is in, it’s not going to affect your dining experience - you are cocooned from the noise of others, thanks to all the nooks and crannies separating the different areas. Looking for excuses to visit again soon!

Probably our favourite pub in Buckinghamshire! It’s been recently refurbished and they’ve done a brilliant job. The setting is lovely, nestled at the start of the Chilterns with a gorgeous view out over the back. Love their newly refurbished garden, especially when the sun is out it’s a lovely spot to eat or drink. Food is great too, can’t fault it! Really warm and friendly staff, we’re always greeted with a smile. The GM Alan is a great guy, always up for a chat. There’s loads of car parking down the back too which is ideal if you’re meeting friends or family. Definitely going to keep returning!

Booked for a 30th birthday, 9 people on a Saturday at 6pm. 2 guests left by front door for 10 minutes to be shown to table.Booked private party room, was so cold in there we asked for the fire to be lit. It didn’t heat the room up at all. Got drinks and some had starters, waited till 8pm then asked where are mains were?. We were informed they had a new chef and would be 5 minutes. 25 minutes later food started to come out. Steaks were cooked wrong, tough and no seasoning. Extras were missed off and rest of orders warm and bland. After waited 2 and half hours, we ate what we could. Room was so cold people put on coats and one person gave up and went and sat in car to warm up. Duty manager apologised and took my details and said to just pay for drinks and the manager would be in contact, that this is not how we operate normally and to all come back in the future for a meal. Well no phone call so I have sent 2 emails with no response. We were planning on going to have cake at our home afterwards but so late others went straight home as some people had an hour trip home. Very disappointed no response from manager.

Amazing hospitality, beautiful fire, pet friendly ,food was stunning albeit slightly inconsistent with the kids meals missing all the trimmings promised. But overall Ryan was super welcoming with great service.

First stop off before checking in to Barn Suite Penn our new local, The Crown. Made to feel welcome as soon as we stepped through the front door. Lunch was top quality. Pub refurbished to very high standard and gardens just stunning. Des & Kiley 😊
