The Crown

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and fast, especially our waiter Nikita, who was attentive without being intrusive. Very enjoyable friendly atmosphere. So nice to find a place that doesn’t blast us with music, so we actually had a chance to chat and enjoy our meal.

Can’t praise it enough to be honest. Lovely place with a great atmosphere and amazing food. The sourdough starter was so good, we ordered in a second one after the mains! Never tasted bread like it. Our server Kingsley was brilliant, even with our fussy requests. Thanks for a lovely meal, will definitely be back!

Amazing hospitality, beautiful fire, pet friendly ,food was stunning albeit slightly inconsistent with the kids meals missing all the trimmings promised. But overall Ryan was super welcoming with great service.

An absolutely perfect Sunday roast at The Crown Penn! From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel so welcome — the warmth and comfort of the place instantly put us at ease. The atmosphere was faultless: cosy, friendly, and full of charm. The food was outstanding — one of the best Sunday roasts we’ve had in a long time. Everything was cooked beautifully, full of flavour, and served in generous portions. A special mention has to go to Stephen, who was truly exceptional. His service was second to none — friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, which made our visit even more special. An all-round 5-star experience in every sense. We couldn’t fault a single thing and will most definitely be returning very soon. Highly, highly recommended!

We came in for Sunday lunch and such a lovely time even though we didn’t have a booking the host moved a few things around for us! The food was really nice and it nice that the new manager came over and had a little chat with us telling us about his future plans with the pub.

First visit, and hopefully more to come. I had a specific request for a corner table as one of our party is autistic, and once I got past the automated answer phone person Daniel the manager was brilliant. Three food is great, the front of house team are brilliant, super friendly, great sense of humour and the whole place has that country pub buzz about it with a mix of regulars and newcomers. Thank you!

Highly recommended! A fantastic restaurant with very friendly and attentive service. The food was excellent. Classic British dishes as well as burgers and other options were all very well prepared. There is a great selection of drinks and the atmosphere is warm and cozy with a fireplace. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back

Our family recently contacted The Crown about them hosting a wake for one of our family members. From the moment we got in touch, the managers with whom we were liaising (Daniel and Irina) were extremely kind, understanding and helpful in organising the event. And thanks to the efforts of all the staff at The Crown, the event went very smoothly and many of the people who attended commented on how well organised the event was, how efficient the staff were, how nice the venue was, and how good the food was. All the staff we dealt with on the day were extremely friendly, efficient and attentive. The Crown did a great job at arranging and hosting what was a very personal and emotional event. And the sensitivity and kindness shown by the staff was exemplary. Thank you to The Crown.
