Perfect location for the slopes, spacious boot room & hire place linking this who were really friendly & efficient. |Room was spacious & had everything we needed for our weeks stay, quiet, comfy & serviced daily. |Spa was super quiet during the day, clean & relaxing. As expected it did get busier once the slopes emptied but this was never a problem. |Restaurant food was good & plentiful. |Staff were all super friendly & accommodating. |Highly recommended. We stayed here as part of a package with Crystal over Christmas. The best thing about this hotel is the staff and the service. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Tereza, the front desk manager, was awesome, and the restaurant staff are all very friendly. You cannot fault this hotel for its service. Pros: Rooms: We had two junior suites that were all modern, clean and with an amazing balcony view. Sauna and Spa: Again, all new, modern, very clean and a very nice experience. Dining: Good breakfast buffet with plenty of choices. Dinner has more limited menus, and the portions can be very small. However, if nothing on the menu suits you, then there is plenty to choose from the salad/soup area. The food tastes good and arrives very quickly when you order. The restaurant is also nice and modern. Location: The good part is that it's right beside the gondola, and you can hire all of your equipment downstairs. There is also a huge storage area in the basement for all of your equipment. Cons: Nothing major to be honest, however, if I were to critique the hotel, it would be the following. The hotel has very limited lifts (elevators for you guys in the USA), and it's split into two. There is a bridge that takes you to the other wing, and it can take absolutely forever to get down to the basement in the morning. The rooms all have huge king-size beds, but they only supply you with single duvets, so you wake up in the night trying to cover yourself. There is also no room service, and the rooms have no telephones, so you cannot call down to reception, etc. The location on the con side is that it's right beside an animal shed, so if you have a room facing that area, the smell can be quite bad. Also, it's at the entrance to the village, so you are on the opposite side of everything. Having said that, the main village is only about 1km away. My main critique would be that we were here during Christmas, and on Christmas Eve, the hotel played some Christmas songs in the morning, but by evening, there was ZERO atmosphere. No Christmas music, nothing. Christmas morning was zero vibe, and even worse, at Christmas dinner, there was no special menu and no festive music. That was a quite a letdown as far as we were concerned. Also, despite the odd tree outside the main entrance and inside, there were no real Christmas decorations in the hotel. It almost came across like they couldn't be bothered, and with so many foreign tourists who came here for Christmas, the hotel could have made more effort. At Christmas dinner, we were talking to a family who felt the same way and said it was a shame, as the hotel is lovely, but no atmosphere. I feel this is an honest and constructive review. Overall, I would happily come back here again as the staff were amazing and the cleanliness of the hotel was good. So, to all the staff, thank you for making us feel welcome!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An unforgettable stay that truly felt like home We stayed in a standard room on the second floor, which was very comfortable and perfectly located. The restaurant was just one floor below, making everything extremely convenient. One of the biggest advantages is the location for skiing. The ski lift is very close to the hotel, which makes it ideal for families and beginners. The hotel also has a ski rental inside, where you can rent all the necessary equipment, and the ski pass can be purchased just across the street — everything is extremely well organized and easy. There were many children at the hotel, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere. I was staying with my daughter, and we had a wonderful time — it was fun and lively, yet at the same time calm and peaceful, without any noise or chaos. There was always enough space to relax, whether at the pool or in the quiet areas. The relaxation room was my absolute favorite — especially the hanging beds suspended on ropes. I spent a lot of time there reading a book and often fell asleep, feeling completely at peace. I would like to especially highlight the waiters and the entire hotel staff. They left warmth in my heart and made us feel truly welcome — as if we were at home. They treated their guests not just as customers, but as honored guests — like kings and queens, and honestly, I am not exaggerating. What impressed me even more was the language skills of the staff. I personally speak five languages, and the team was able to communicate with me comfortably in every language I use. It truly felt like they speak all the languages of the world, which made the experience even more personal and exceptional. From the very beginning, upon arrival, the staff even helped us with our luggage, as we had quite a lot for a five-day stay. Every detail, from the service and cleanliness to the food and atmosphere, exceeded our expectations. A truly beautiful place that we would happily return to and wholeheartedly recommend.

This is the second season we have skied in Obergurgl and stayed at the Crystal Vaya, and it has been wonderful as ever! Well appointed rooms, great management and team, pool, cinema room, delicious a la carts and buffet food. Michael the bar man was great! Thank you!

We had a booking for one week. The hotel is of good quality with a good sauna, wellness and pool area. The breakfast buffet is really good. The dinner has a entree buffet with many choices, and a served main course. The dinner is of good quality but I still expected a little more both in quantity and quality for the served course. The desserts were always very tasty. The people in the room next to us were smokers, which was really annoying when they were smoking on the terrace and we were on the terrace or had the windows open. At checkout the staff argued they can’t do anything about that because it is allowed. In my opinion: I don’t want to go to a hotel of this quality (which you pay for) and then to be disturbed by a neighbour’s smoking addiction. Maybe a non smoker area or non smoking floor could do the job… The parking spaces in the garage are small, luckily we drive a small car. Location and view: sublime.

Me and my friends are returning guests. We spend 4-5 days here every year. We love the hotel, the rooms, and the spa. All members of the staff are very welcoming and friendly. We always have a great time here! We’ll be back next year!

Super de luxe hotel and super friendly staff. We booked a superior room II and we're very pleased with the room which is very hygienic and has a very nice balcony and amazing view on the waterfall. The food, breakfast and dinner included, is superb, very tasty and always plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet. Dinner is always excellent and served a la carte, 3 courses. Also the hotel facilities are very very good, swimming pool and wellness area. Overall top hotel in a exquisite surrounding! So pleased that we decided to prolong our stay for several days 👍😀

A VAYA Unique…ly Disappointing Experience Like many other reviewers, we had stayed at this hotel a few years ago and had a positive experience. Based on that, we returned with high expectations—unfortunately, what we found this time was a steep decline in quality and service. - Food: The buffet was well below standard. The selection was minimal, and much of it looked as though it had been sitting out far too long. - Cleanliness: Our room was not clean on arrival—dusty floors and black hairs on the bedding. While it was eventually addressed, the issue wasn’t handled particularly well by the staff. - Room condition: The facilities are clearly aging. The toilet seat and shower head were broken, which only added to the feeling of neglect. - Parking: We were charged €8 per day for parking, yet our designated spot was practically submerged due to leaking pipes in the garage. Overall, the experience fell far short of what we expected, especially given the price point. It’s clear from other recent reviews that this isn’t an isolated case—VAYA is no longer offering the value or service it once did. Recommendation: Look elsewhere for accommodation.
