Had the privilege of visiting the Curragh Racecourse for the Irish Champions Festival 2025. With four Group Ones and several horses over from the UK and further a field the racecard was top class. It's been over forty years since my last visit and the only similarity was the wind and rain, the Racecourse facilities upgrade are mighty impressive. The easy access to watching the jockeys getting weighed before and after races, going to see the parade ring, watching the horses getting saddled, the betting ring and vast betting hall with brilliant catering facilities added to an amazing race day experience. Finally a big thank you to the Garda Siochana for their wonderful traffic management on the way into and exiting the Racecourse, it was superb and all done with friendly smiles on their faces. Can't wait for my next visit.

A great day out and we'll worth the entrance fee. Has the style, the racing, and all other entertainment and food laid on. If you're at a loss with what to do for a weekend, dress up, and go to the Curragh!

We are here today at the race, it is our first horse race, we really liked the structure. I don't know how people say that this place is not good, it is very tidy, very organized. Everything is top of the line, lots of technology.

Absolutely beautiful racecourse. We did the hospitality which was very expensive. The food was good though and the drinks not overly expensive.

First time visiting the Curragh racecourse. Very impressed. The building itself is a sight to behold. But the facilities and grounds are first class. Immaculate, clean and maintained to a very high standard. [Note of Point: we weren't there for a race meeting, it was a community Family Fun Day]

Great day out at the races at The Curragh. Easy to walk around and navigate. Staff were friendly, helpful, and informative. There are plenty of options for bookies and the tote if you'd prefer. Plenty of options for food and drink too. Very impressive new stand! I'll definitely be back.

The grass is very interesting around here in October, lots of people walking very slowly and admitting the grass, they even crouch down to get a better look at the grass every now and then. It's a lovely nature spot.

Yelp
This is home to the flat racing in Ireland. It is also where you will find the Irish Derby. The Curragh is pretty much the heart of horse racing in Ireland, horse racing Ireland is just up the road. The army equestrian unit is located there too. It is pretty fitting that Curragh means, 'place of the running horse.' Personally I prefer Punchestown. I just think the atmosphere is more jovial but that's just me. Unlike Punchestown there is no winding roads to it, it's located on the fluvial plain that is now the Curragh which is also owned by the government due to get being a natural wonder. There are lots of sheep though and the army practise manoeuvres there so try not to get shot or run over a sheep.

Yelp
Woo-hoo! I won! And I never win. Had my second time ever at the races today and it was great fun. The Curragh is an institution, very popular among the horsey set (as you'd imagine) and also a great day out. It's good fun to get dressed up and head down to the races. It's blind luck for me, I don't have a clue about horses so if there's a good name I bet on it. Today it went well. Also had a nice 99 in the sunshine (although sorry to say they no longer cost 99p, €2.50!). A lovely day out.

Yelp
I was treated to an amazing day out to the Dubai Duty Free Derby and what a day it was. There was style, glitz and glam, gambling, horses, celebs and plenty of fun. It was a brilliant day out and the sun shined!!
