The Current: Baha Mar Gallery and Art Center

I recently attended a sip n paint at the current and it was so much fun! Our instructor was Shanise and she was just a ball of light; she taught in a fun yet informative way. My cousin and I along with the young lady at our table do not drink so we were accommodated quickly and brought some grape cider and water. The class was great and went by far too quickly. I definitely recommend it.

I had a lovely time with my landscape instructor Christina. She was so pleasant and calm, just like the Bahamian landscape we were painting. The group of ladies were wonderful partners and we had precious moments to cherish forever. The art Gallery - The Current is absolutely great. I will do that again once I return to BahaMar

A beautiful art gallery just below the first building of Bahamar entrance. Besides and art gallery it also host small events. The curators are very friendly and helpful.

We had such a blast making art and tapping into our creative side but Shanise is the MAIN reason why we love our art class/experience so much. Shanise is an amazing teacher - she is knowledgeable, great in teaching, patient with those who needed more guidance but at the same time able to make sure the fast learners did not feel slowed down. She individually helped us out if we needed her guidance but also just made sure we all had a good time. We loved it and really recommend this to anyone looking for a fun couples or family experience together.

Amazing gallery, we had a wonderful experience there and were so glad we visited during our stay. The gallery carries a great selection of arts related to Bahamas, and the staff are delightful. We ordered a print which were not available before we left the country, and Jordon and his team were so kind to offer to post it to us. We just received it today and can’t wait to put it up on the wall! Will definitely visit again if we are in Nassau. We also got some very lovely gifts and souvenirs from the shop, the products are very well made.

No contest, this was the highlight of my trip. The collection of carefully curated art should be mandatory to all visitors staying in The Bahamas. The lessons in history, culture, and local pride that's thoughtfully showcased throughout both the exhibit and shop have added to my overall appreciation of this country. I'm especially grateful for the kindness shown to me by Matthew Ramen and Damien Bernard. I wish I had come here sooner, and I'm excited for my next opportunity to come back.

This is really a pleasant experience. No doubt a great opportunity to see the work of a few of the Bahamian artist. The Gallery also offers a wonderful opportunity to purchase gifts, few but an appropriate mix of books with focus on the culinary and art culture. They are a bit pricey mind you. There is a lovely series of jewelry design by local artist you are sure to find something.
