We came to Kilkenny from Cashel just to eat here with our 4 and 6yo children. As a traveling vegan family who is accustomed to very clean, plant-based foods, it was worth the detour from our itinerary! (Kilkenny Castle proved to be a hit, too.)
We had lunch AND dinner here. This is what we ate:
Oaty Berry Banana Smoothie
Breakfast Burrito
Nut Roast Wrap
Vegetable puree soup (of the day)
Americano Coffee
Korma, served with veggie fried rice, roast potatoes, and green salad (this was the special of the day)
Falafel Wrap
Salad Plate (combo of prepared salads including pesto fusilli, carrot coconut slaw, beetroot, sesame noodles, bulgar couscous)
Four desserts (two baked, two raw)
We also ordered a second salad combo + a side of hummus to take home for the next day.
The food was all very fresh, very nutritious, and very tasty. My 6yo loved the Korma and the Nut Roast wrap. My 4yo loved the hummus. My husband and I loved it all.
Helen, the owner, was very kind and took excellent care of us. This is a special place, and a rare find outside of Dublin. For those looking for a really clean meal that will leave you feeling fabulous, you must try The Cutting Vedge.
