The place is FANTASTIC and an inspiration! Dining here felt like home and it was delicious :) definitely don’t miss if in the area!! The staff were so welcoming and nice, there are many different options which are all made with love and care, and were served pleasantly. I had an early dinner and takeaway for later. Plus all is VEGAN!!! And I like to support zero-waste businesses such as this.

The Cutting Vedge is a plant-based deli in a fantastic location right in the centre of Kilkenny city. We were so surprised to find such a gem during our visit. The menu is expansive and has something for everyone. We ordered a wide range of options and we were impressed with them all! We had a 'nut roast wrap' which was very tasty. The nut roast itself was fab and the sauce accompanying it worked perfectly. This came with two salads: pesto potatoes and sesame noodles, both of which were lovely, once again very flavourful. Next we had the stromboli which was crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle with a delicious savoury filling. The 'house savoury pastry' was romanesco cauliflower and once again had a wonderful flavour and texture with some crumbly pastry. I also ordered the mushroom soup which was creamy and perfectly seasoned. Perfect for a cold day! The side salad served with the wrap and pastry were crunchy and fresh, an excellent addition to the dishes. The desserts were honestly just as good! We had the 'red velvet brownie' which was rich and moreish, it was paired with home made yoghurt and strawberry sauce which worked brilliantly. We also had the 'rhubarb crumble' which was tart and delicious, it felt like I was eating at my Granny's house once again! If this was not enough, the service was second to none. Helen and her colleague were always making sure everything was to our liking. After tasting half the menu I can safely say this deli is a must visit if you are in Kilkenny. When we visit Kilkenny again we will make sure to be back, thanks so much 😊

This was my favorite food experience in Kilkenny. She's been open 6 years; completely vegan and eco conscious. She has bins with various nuts, dates & dried figs. I had the Summer Boost drink (perfect for rainy weather), savory pastry, mushroom soup and ginger lemon rhubarb crumbl (couldn't resist to go)! Service impeccable.

Had a lovely lunch here on a cold rainy day in Kilkenny. Had a delicious bowl of mushroom soup with stromboli and it was yummy. My husband had the almond wrap and it was equally nice.

Best place in town for a vegan meal. Everything is freshly homemade by the owner who, by the way, was an excellent host, noce and kind. We had the soup of the day, two wraps and a slice of pizza each. Everything was amazing, and fastly served. We were sorry we did not have the time to stay more in the place, we were in a rush. Anyway, i highly recommend it to anyone interesse in a homemade meal in a truly comfortable place.

The perfect meal after a tour of the castle. The owner, Helen, was at the till and had a cheery disposition, more than happy to tell us about the home-made kombucha that they bottle in sterilized tomato sauce containers. €5.50 a bottle in green tea flavor and others. I recommend the Wellington, it's a flavor explosion for a great price. I wish I had asked for the recipe 😔 The lighting creates a fresh vibe, the cook is visible and all the bulk foods are laid out in Tupperware on a shelf next to the tables. The whole place has a feeling of a community kitchen or the house of your socially conscious friend. A faint mural adorns the walls. If I am ever back in Kilkenny I will come here first thing!

Myself and my partner drove out of our way to get here and we absolutely were not disappointed! The staff were amazingly friendly, the seitan special was delicious and the price was spot on. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Yelp
Was looking for a healthy option and so thankful for Cutting Vedge! Fresh food that is locally sourced and organic with a zero waste approach. Felt like I was eating homemade soup I'd make at home. Even the bathrooms had a hand towel. Offers vegan and gluten free options as well!

Yelp
We came to Kilkenny from Cashel just to eat here with our 4 and 6yo children. As a traveling vegan family who is accustomed to very clean, plant-based foods, it was worth the detour from our itinerary! (Kilkenny Castle proved to be a hit, too.) We had lunch AND dinner here. This is what we ate: Oaty Berry Banana Smoothie Breakfast Burrito Nut Roast Wrap Vegetable puree soup (of the day) Americano Coffee Korma, served with veggie fried rice, roast potatoes, and green salad (this was the special of the day) Falafel Wrap Salad Plate (combo of prepared salads including pesto fusilli, carrot coconut slaw, beetroot, sesame noodles, bulgar couscous) Four desserts (two baked, two raw) We also ordered a second salad combo + a side of hummus to take home for the next day. The food was all very fresh, very nutritious, and very tasty. My 6yo loved the Korma and the Nut Roast wrap. My 4yo loved the hummus. My husband and I loved it all. Helen, the owner, was very kind and took excellent care of us. This is a special place, and a rare find outside of Dublin. For those looking for a really clean meal that will leave you feeling fabulous, you must try The Cutting Vedge.
