What a great experience! Our family met at the Cary St location to celebrate a birthday. The service was wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious. We even enjoyed champagne that came with various juices. We have family members who need GF items as well as vegetarians. The prices were very reasonable.

We were directed to check this place out by a local who said the had quite a few vegan and gluten free options. It's in a really cool spot on the corner of a busy area that's full of other chic spots. If we had more time in Richmond, it would've been a great place to wander around. Overall, love the decor and service in this place. The menu is fairly large and did have a lot of gluten free and vegan options. We were originally going to split the Spicy Avocado Bowl and the TLT Sandwich with the chickpea Salas. The server came back out after a few minutes to tell us that they couldn't actually make the sandwich gluten free and vegan since their gluten free bread contained eggs and their Tempeh Bacon contains wheat. That was a real disappointment since those things could be easy swaps with ingredients or products that are both gluten free and vegan. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. However, we got 3 sides with the bowl instead and all of the food was delicious. If we lived in the area, this is probably a place we would come back to.

They do NOT allow dogs on the patio fyi. I got the gluten free cheese pizza it was so good and filling, I also ordered an espresso, and I’m a coffee newbie so it was my first time getting one, I asked for whole milk in it, espressos don’t use milk 🤦🏻. I do wish the waiter had told me that espressos don’t use milk as I felt so embarrassed after I found out online when I googled it, instead all he said was “alright” when I ordered it but other than that I’ll come back again

The service here was great kudos to the staff for taking care of us. We sat on the patio and it was a nice day and there was shade from the umbrellas. I had the grilled blackened fish sandwich. I recommend it if you like fish.

I love the Daily Kitchen and Bar! The Short Pump location has PLENTY of parking. The food is always delicious and I enjoy this spot because of the vegetarian and vegan food and the staff does a good job handling food allergies. During this date night, we ordered the Hummus Plate as a starter. The roasted beet hummus was tasty, smooth and creamy. My husband ordered the Teriyaki Bowl and I ordered the Spicy Avocado Bowl. Everything was delicious as usual. I really enjoyed the pickled onions added a nice tangy flavor which was nicely balanced with the cilantro lime sauce.

Free Nachos

Google
Somewhat limited menu, although there's something for everyone here. Their rice bowls are tasty. Definitely would not recommend the burger. Two silver dollar burger patties were stacked next to each other to cover the bottom of the bun. Fries were super basic. I've had better at 1 star diners. If you come, do yourself a favor and order one of the bowls or a pizza. Service is completely average and atmosphere is ok.

Our server Avery was amazing! Kind and prompt and professional! I was looking for hand sanitizer when we were getting ready to eat and David somehow heard me and next thing I know he’s walking towards us with a big bottle of sanitizer! I was floored! He’s psychic or highly attentive!! I asked if I could refill my travel size bottle as well and he was kind enough to say yes!! The amount of food was abundant and I’ll eat dinner from the best Buddha bowl I’ve had here or in Chicago! I really can’t say enough about the quality either, fabulous job! Thank you for an outstanding lunch!!

Google
Cute brunch spot in the heart of Carytown. We had reservations so we did not have any issues getting a sea. The restaurant was modern and clean. They kept the inside area nice and cool which I greatly appreciated. Our server, Luke, was fantastic, giving us plenty of recommendations. The Bloody Mary was fantastic. I had the lump crab omelette which was quite tasty. If I lived in town I think I would come here regularly.

Yelp
This was my second time at The Daily Kitchen & Bar, and I must say, the ambiance of the space is very earthy. With low lighting, natural elements on display, and green-seated booths, it feels as though you're experiencing the outdoors from inside. It gives off a vibe of being outdoors with an intimate feel. We sat at the bar since, at the time we arrived, business was booming. Our server (I didn't catch her name) provided us with the Galentine's specials, as we were there around that time. I tried the Galentine's 75, a flirty twist on the classic French 75. It wasn't overbearing and was aesthetically pleasing, with a lemon garnish and sparkles swirling around. I also tried the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, as I'm always a fan, and they were, as usual, a great appetizer to start with. The crunchy yet soft balance of the Brussels sprouts paired well with the slightly sweet goji berries. I then tried their Strawberry & Cream French Toast with bacon. The ends weren't as crispy as I had expected, and the bacon was a bit overcooked. Nonetheless, the French toast was still delicious--because I SURELY ate it all up! Our bartender ensured that our food arrived in a timely manner and checked in on us regularly, providing great service. If you happen to be in the Carytown area, check this place out!

Yelp
The dishes were dirty, the lettuce was turning red, definitely not fresh. The home fries were soggy even though they looked delicious. The breakfast burrito was okay but lacked some flavor. The lump crab was cold under the poached eggs and smelled sooo fishy it was hard to finish. The service was good, but the food itself was awful.

Rose T.

Yelp
Came here for brunch with some girlfriends, let me start off by saying this place has the best Brussels sprouts in all of RVA and possibly the world. They are so delicious, it's literally my favorite thing on the menu. I don't even care that it makes me gassy, I will eat the whole plate without sharing with anyone.

Paige S.

Yelp
We love the daily! I came here a few times over the years but the last time we went, we really enjoyed brunch. There's never been a long wait for a table, even when busy, and the inside is so cute with its trees and green moss, making it cozy and relaxing. I love all the vegetarian options so I never struggle to find tasty food. The brunch selection was great, and my omelette and potatoes were very filling!

Yelp
The Daily is my go-to spot for a satisfying and healthy meal, whether it's lunch or dinner. It strikes the perfect balance between healthy and delicious, with a plethora of options that cater to vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Their menu boasts an array of salads, bowls, sandwiches, and pizza. What I love most is that these dishes are so flavorful and filling on their own that you don't even need to add extra protein to the many vegetarian options. We also ordered the roasted Brussels sprouts, and they were an absolute hit. Cooked to crispy perfection and drizzled with a balsamic glaze and dried cranberries, they are a great appetizer to start your meal off with. They also don't skimp on the portions; a bowl was perfect for three people who wanted a full portion of Brussel sprouts. I opted for the Buddha Bowl without additional protein, and it was a complete meal in itself. The hummus, avocado, and quinoa provided a hearty base that was both satisfying and nutritious. I enjoyed mixing everything together, but if you prefer to savor each component separately, the bowl is thoughtfully portioned for just that. The ambiance at The Daily is relaxed and inviting, making it a great spot for a leisurely meal with friends or family. The service is always friendly and efficient, and we were in and out in a little over an hour. If you're in the mood for a meal that's both wholesome and delicious, look no further than The Daily.

Yelp
What a charming place! I loved their bright color choices! My niece and I stopped here for a little something to eat after some serious sightseeing. We ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts from our server Sophia and I had a glass of the San Simon Chard. These were the best Brussels Sprouts I believe I have ever had! That is my "go to" at most restaurants and I liked that they put shaved Parmesan cheese on them instead of Feta. I will be trying it next time I make them at home. People watching from the patio was fun too.

Danielle F.

Yelp
Highly recommend as it's a lovely environment very clean and fairly decently priced food and sizing. We had great service as well and I enjoyed all their vegan options and how healthy the food feels.

Salem B.

Yelp
I'm gluten-free due to celiac, and I had read positive things about gluten-free options here. The menu didn't disappoint. There are tons of gf and vegan options. I got the glazed salmon and the cucumber cooler (a mocktail). Both were AMAZING. I'm excited to return and try some of the other offerings.

Rachel M.

Yelp
I always get invited by others to the daily because they love it so much and I'm always hoping that it'll get better. I just have not understood the hype and not really enjoyed the food each time I've gone. I will say that do have great service and the restaurant is cute and a good atmosphere. But the food is just sub par. On my most recent visit the sandwich I ordered was mostly burnt bread with a sliver of the fillings inside. If they could improve their dishes and consistency I would like to enjoy this place but it just has always been lackluster.

Lena M.

Yelp
Came here for a friend's Birthday brunch. We were a group of 12. The birthday girl liked that she could make a reservation ahead of time. Our seating situation was a bunch of tables pushed together so one side was all booth and the other were chairs. About 25% of our group ordered the crab omelet and practically licked the plate clean. Everyone enjoyed their brunch. I got their bread pudding French toast and enjoyed it. The flavor was nice and I liked the berries on top. The serving was really big for me so I shared with my friends. I also got the chai latte, which was a bit on the sweet side, but I still enjoyed it. I had been here once before with my mom and partner for dinner. I can't remember what we ordered, I think it was a fish dish and bowl. I found it to be pretty good. We had also sat on the patio which is a nice space. This was a great spot for a big group. The large windows were a huge plus. I also appreciate all the green here.

Yelp
The Daily has been a go-to for drink and light meal for years but I wont be going back. Last night, despite not being busy, the wait for any service was over 20 minutes, and the food was horrible. The hamburger bun was burnt , the burger dry as shoe leather and adorned with a wilted lettuce leaf and mealy tomato slice. My partner's fish tacoz had about 2 bites of fish on each and no accompaniments such as sauce, or slaw, etc. I left thinking Burger King and Capt D would have been better and cheaper.

Jo L.

Yelp
Fig & Pig Pizza - A white base, mozzarella, pulled pork, figs, arugula, balsamic reduction - It was good! The white base, is similar to a cream cheese texture, not a ton of taste, but with everything going on in the pizza it fit in really well. I loved the crust on the pizza, not super thing or thick. I would be back for something else for sure. The place was clean and the service was excellent at the bar

Cole S.

Yelp
This was a great dining experience! The drinks were flavorful with special touches and the main dishes were unique, flavorful, hearty, and healthy. The atmosphere had a sleek feel for a casual yet cultured environment. We will be back!

Yelp
Back in 2018, shortly following a surgery, I knew I had to eat something bland and landed at The Daily for the first time. I ordered the mahi mahi, which I recalled being bland and boring, and subsequently did not return until December 2022 on a whim. I didn't know what I was missing. On that visit, and several visits following, I've had amazing food, great service, and tasty drinks. Both their cocktails and mocktails are top tier. For food, I've had the burger, the white pizza, and, several times over, the caesar salad. It may be my favorite caesar in Richmond. It's that good. I've also had their spinach and artichoke dip, which is pureed, and surprisingly incredible. It came with a perfect proportion of pita, too. When I want a decently healthy meal, The Daily now comes to mind. It's definitely a Richmond institution.

Yelp
Sat at 1:30 on December 22- the bar service was great loved the servers behind the bar, food was great! The manger (David) however came behind the bar in front of us and other guest and was clearly so rude to his employee and made her very uncomfortable after doing nothing wrong. The bartender moved his jacket to make more space for a customer and you could hear and see this absurd unprofessional behavior. This is no way to treat an employee and no way to act around customers. 0 out of 0 rating to David the manager. David should go back to management training and take a specialty course in behavior. Or just really send him back to kindergarten where he belongs Real Scrooge around the holidays

Yelp
The food is pretty solid here. The perks are the organic options which are harder to find. The kale salad has been a favorite for years and still is-on our last visit I added the organic chicken and it was far to chargrilled for my liking. The areas that were touching the grill had a heavy burned flavor which significantly took away from the dish. We sat at the bar and found our bartender to be friendly and efficient. I had the coco something mocktail which was refreshing and nice and my husband had to drinks, both which he enjoyed. The restaurant has great lighting but could use a good ceiling clean as there seemed to be dust build up across the whole ceiling. I was sad to see the vegan calamari was off the menu as this was a dish we really enjoyed and would love to see it brought back.

Emily S.

Yelp
Happy hour options are only available if you sit up at the bar, which has limited seating. Went for dinner on a Monday and it was pretty dead, yet the service was painfully slow. The bartender appeared to have a group of friends at the bar and hung with them the entire time and didn't ask us how we were doing once. Brussel sprouts were great. The teriyaki bowl has a great flavor but my rice was hard and uncooked. Overall it was just okay. I have been several times before and "okay" is the best I can come up with for those times as well.

Yelp
We really enjoy going to The Daily Kitchen & Bar in Richmond's Carytown. The food, service, and atmosphere are excellent and fun. The restaurant has large windows on two sides. The front windows are actually glass doors that slide open to merge the outside and inside. You can choose to dine outside, but I like to dine inside and breathe in the outside air and see, while also enjoying air conditioning. Even inside, the decor is tones of green and brown, with brown/gold metal trees as art--again merging the outside with the inside. They have a full bar with a wide variety of options and a menu of yummy cocktails. Now to the food. This visit, we enjoyed the Chopped Salad with grilled chicken added, the Mediterranean turkey burger, and the buffalo chicken wrap. The burger and wrap came with sweet potato fries. Portions are generous, and the meals were delicious. The restaurant gets busy at lunch, so make an Open Table reservation. Enjoy!

Dominic L.

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times and have really enjoyed it both times. In a great location in Carytown. There is almost always seating from what I could tell by visiting and walking by. I highly recommend the desserts here. The bread pudding was my favorite. I also enjoyed the banana foster cheesecake and the Nutella mousse. Each of which were one of my friends' favorites. The food, however, was good but didn't stand out. I'll have to try more of the menu when I go back. Service was good but I will say the restaurant needed a bit of care in terms of a couple of spots. Not necessary to say here but I'm happy to message with the management on this platform.

Yelp
Coming back as a vegan now...still adore The Daily! Their grain bowl with tofu is delicious. Always very friendly service and lots of great options to choose from!

Aki T.

Yelp
We went to the one in Carytown. Brussel sprouts is a great starter with tons of flavor! I ordered an avocado salad and I loved it. There were many fresh veggies in it like sweet corn, black beans, rice and whole half avocado. Salsas was fresh too. Beef hamburger, California club sandwich, Spain omelette and quinoa salad were delicious too. During lunch time, all the servers were too busy! I wish they come and asked how were our food though. I understand they are working hard but on our customers side, we do need more attention. It was a very hot day, unfortunately we did not get enough cool A/C because they opened the glass window so our table seats were pretty hot. A great place for families friends gatherings, I am not sure if they have happy hour.

Angela L.

Yelp
I was here for 3 hours because the food took forever to get here and the steak was tougher than what I expected from medium. The salad was mediocre. The appetizers (artichoke dip and pita) and my cocktail were the best things I had.

Mackenzie C.

Yelp
An average place to get a bite at. I can with a large group and we had made reservations but our table was not ready until about a half hour after we were supposed to be seated. Our waitress was sweet and did her best to accommodate our large group but could have used some extra help to aid in service being a little faster. The food was okay, some of it was a hit while others weren't too excited about their food. The drinks came out wrong the first time but were fixed the second time around. The drinks seemed like they weren't created the same each time so some people got mimosas with lots of OJ and others got a mimosa with just a splash. After we finished eating it took about 40 minutes to get our checks out to us. Maybe this would be better for a smaller group of people but if your interested I would stick say to check it out for yourself (:

Aida E.

Yelp
So disappointed, quality of food was awful , our server was nice and was trying to make the experience better.

Rajon A.

Yelp
The Daily is a delightful daytime cafe, in the beautifies of carrytown is this open kitchen and bar. Phenomenal food with an expansive menu, with vegan and gluten free options. The service is always immaculate. The Daily gives such vibrant vibes!

Lisa M.

Yelp
The service was amazing, the drinks were on point, the food was to die for!!! I cannot wait to come back to this location again. Delicious is an understatement. You won't be disappointed.

Katie W.

Yelp
I went for brunch with a friend on a Sunday morning. It is advisable to make a reservation for brunch, since they are often very busy. We did not make a reservation, so when I approached the counter, they informed me that it would be about a two hour wait for a table inside, or we could eat at the bar or on the covered patio (under a heater). Luckily, as I was waiting for my friend, a table for two opened up earlier than expected, and they seated me there. The restaurant has a fairly sizable menu with various brunch options including bagels, toast, eggs, sandwiches, pizza, bowls, and salads. I tried the Buddha bowl, which had a quinoa base and a variety of veggies. You had the option of adding meat or tofu for an additional charge. The bowl was very good, with the exception of the broccolini and/or kale, which was burnt. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is not extremely large, but still feels open and spacious inside. Their covered patio is very nice to sit on when the weather is good. Overall a nice place to grab brunch, lunch, or dinner. One thing that may enhance the dining experience would be some sort of shade for the windows - at certain times of day, the sun is extremely bright through the front windows, and we had to move our chairs to the side a little to escape it.

Lifes A.

Yelp
We had a very good brunch here today. Family came down from Woodbridge and hit traffic. When I called to tell the restaurant they were very gracious about holding our table. The food was wonderful, including the much lauded Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Make reservations for brunch.

Anna B.

Yelp
The food was super healthy and yummy! I liked the environment! I went with my family.

Michael C.

Yelp
The Daily is such a beautiful spot. This place was super clean and the everything from the decorations to the seating were on point. My party and I got there right before the brunch rush and I was surprised at how mediocre the service was. Especially cause not a lot of people were in there. Refills came at decent times, could've been better and the food took a pretty long amount of time to come out as well. As for the food itself tho, it was pretty good to amazing. The breakfast burrito will single hand idly have me visit this place again. It was filled to the brim with eggs and sausage and beans. This thing was packed with tons of flavor and the serving was insane. The avocado toast tasted so fresh and the egg on top added a little extra flavor but it would've been just as good without it. The avocado was seasoned very nicely and the toast was burnt or too soft. The Banana bread was actually pretty good. The warm butter that went with it really helped with the dryness of the bread itself. I won't take points off for that though because typical Banana bread is dry. The dryness did not stop it from having decent flavor though. It was too sweet but I wish I could've tasted more banana. I don't know if I'd order it again but I think it's a good thing to try. The salad was the worst thing I have ever eaten. I don't know what salad it was, but it actually tasted like dirt. I'm not sure if whatever it was just isn't my thing but it tasted terrible. The consistency and flavor almost cause a trip to the bathroom. The eggs Benedict were okay. They were the lump crab ones and I'm gonna be honest, I wasn't a fan. They took a classic breakfast dish and added something that is so polarizing in the lump the crab. This didn't taste fresh and honestly I did not enjoy it at all. The omelet was a typical omelette. I will say that it didn't feel like they skimped on filling it up and making it big. The potatoes were not anything special. They tasted like your typical diner style potatoes. The pricing is a little up there in my opinion, but everything is super expensive nowadays. Because of pricing and mediocre service, I'll go 4/5 stars for the Daily. I would recommend trying it for yourself and make sure to get the breakfast burrito!!

Nicole G.

Yelp
It's a nice place for brunch, they were moderately busy, but the food was hot and it was fast. Not going to lie, I wasn't especially pleased with my breakfast platter, the sausage seemed mildly underdone, but that's just my own pet peeve.

Tina W.

Yelp
Service: waitress was very nice. She didn't check on us too much which I like, but she was definitely busy and our water glasses were never refilled. Food: - Appetizers were pretty good and fresh but both needed more cheese for the size of the dish. - Entrees both needed work. Miso glazed salmon was nice and crispy but brown rice was undercooked, hard, and dry. Also green beans still had stems attached which wasn't nice to have to pick off while eating. Shrimp pasta had a mix of zucchini noodles and linguini but the two pastas didn't mix well so there was just a clump of zucchini noodles in the middle. Sauce was okay but nothing special. I've had better. - Dessert was okay. Both chocolate and carrot cake tasted like they had just been defrosted and served. Chocolate was still a bit frozen and dry. Carrot cake wasn't bad. The icing kept it more moist. Would definitely pick the carrot cake over the chocolate. Place: pretty restaurant with outdoor patio and indoor seating. Patio had large umbrellas and heaters. Not too noisy. Overall a nice atmosphere to eat in. Overall: would consider eating here again if I tried all new dishes. It's not likely I would actually eat here again though because everything needs a bit of work.

Yelp
My husband and I have been to this wonderful restaurant and love everything we have sampled. On our first visit we had hamburgers. They come with a side so I had a salad and my husband had French fries. The next time we weren't hungry for a meal so I had sweet potatoes and a side salad while my husband opted for garlic mashed potatoes. On Monday November 4th we came here for my birthday celebration. We had the same entree an amazing sandwich made of turkey, Swiss cheese, lettuce and avocado and bacon on multi grain bread. I skipped the mayo and tomato . Once again I choose side salad and my sweet heart had sweet potato fries. My husband really enjoys the fries and I love the chopped salad. The atmosphere on the outdoor terrace is so relaxing. I pretended we were at an outdoor cafe in Paris. The one time we ventured inside we felt like we were in a lovely garden because of the tree branches interspersed on surfaces near the tables and booths. The wait staff like most of the folks we have met in Richmond are warm friendly and attentive. The one time we dined inside our waitress stayed with us and engaged in conversation with us during our entire stay. She made us feel so special. When you have moved from one state to another being made to feel welcome means everything.

Olivia F.

Yelp
Came here after having a bad experience at another restaurant. Staff is great. Very accommodating with allergies/making substitutions to dishes. Thank you!

Nirali K.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot for multiple occasions and it never fails to deliver. Perfect sized menu with a variety of options without being overwhelming. I love to come in for a glass of wine and read at the bar, date nights with my partner, family dinner, brunch with friends, etc. Overall, it has an environment that feels suitable for any occasion -- both formal and informal. It does get busy, especially during lunch hours, so I would recommend reservations if it's a party greater than 2 or if you do not want to sit at the bar. Menu is seasonal so there are times where a favorite is no longer available, same with drinks. Portions are very sufficient in my opinion. Ingredients always look and taste fresh. Decor is relaxing and refreshing. The outdoor patio is great for both a warm or brisk day. Servers are very attentive to you and very personable. I highly recommend the chicken or filet with the asparagus and potatoes. Hands down, my favorite -- the reduction of the meat pairs with the creaminess of the potatoes flawlessly. Runner up would have to be the spicy avocado bowl -- I add salmon!

Yelp
Enjoyed the daily many times due to it being gluten-free/diary-free friendly but would consistently get sick afterwards. I finally discovered that the gluten free bread contains dairy after many times of telling the staff that I needed to avoid gluten/wheat and dairy due to Celiac/allergy. The final time I went the server happened to be vegan and thought to double check that the gluten-free bread was also dairy-free. He was horrified to learn that it wasn't and spoke with the manager who gave me a $50 gift card as an apology. I've never felt safe going back there which is a shame, because the food was decent and the patio was great for people watching. I'd consider going back if they took to labeling their menu with DF (diary free) options in addition to GF (gluten free).

Aaliyah G.

Yelp
This place never ever disappoints! I love that the menu comprises of so many different dishes, there is something there for everyone. Below is the avocado bagel. It was delicious, reasonably priced and filling - for any of those speculators of foods topped with micro greens, which DO, by the way, actually add more flavor to the bagel as a whole. The homestyle foods like the grits bowl could use a lot more seasoning inside! I ordered mine without pork and with chicken sausage, it was good but not nearly as flavorful as the bagel. Overall, great food, service, and ambiance. Great place for brunch and an open mind.

Yelp
So, going to brunch here on a Saturday is a bit like driving/walking through the circus to get to another, tastier circus... but that's just Carytown (and anywhere with good food in Carytown) on the weekend. I met a gal pal here this weekend to catch up and was very glad we had a reservation-- the place was packed! Despite that, the drinks came out quickly and were delicious. The food took a while to arrive, which was to be expected, but I had a sad moment when I discovered that my poached eggs were fully cooked through. The brunch quinoa bowl definitely needed the runny yolk to have the perfect texture, so I reluctantly asked our server for new eggs. She was lovely about it and my fresh, perfect eggs were quickly delivered. The dish was delicious and I'd certainly get it again.

Yelp
WORST. VEGGIE BURGER. EVER. Legitimately in the bottom 3 food items I've had at a restaurant. There are 3 possibilities: it's a practical joke they're secretly recording conversations and videos of so they can one day post on YouTube in the hopes of going viral... searching reviews for "veggie burger" this has been going on for over 6 years and there are others who can describe this loose assemblage of nuts and vegan paste they call a burger; the chef and/or owner has really mm, unique... tastes and won't hear any criticisms and address them; or finally: the chef hates vegetarians and wants to punish us. So why 3 stars? The reason we stopped in is because of how it looked from the outside. The lit-up tree branches look great - it's just a great general ambiance. The buffalo cauliflower was quite good. Nice, spicy buffalo sauce, and the cauliflower was cooked well. The fries and sweet potato fries were also good. Service was okay. We had to get someone's attention to get silverware (as did other tables around us we noticed) after our appetizer arrived. Besides, the place was packed, so I simply can't accept that other main items are even nearly as bad as the veggie burger, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Just don't order what they call a vegetarian burger.

Pallavi P.

Yelp
I had an amazing Terayki bowl and the chicken made it even tastier! The service was really fast! The Ambiance was perfect

Lila S.

Yelp
Great food & good service today for brunch - Would be 5 stars, but there was no mention of an up charge for GF! Their menu makes it seem like things can just be gluten free/optional, but when my bill showed $17 for an eggs Benedict (which was one piece of toast split in half and two eggs), I was taken back. Menu makes no mention of it at all. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but I would've likely picked something else had I known there were charges for making things GF. Overall, the daily has definitely improved over the past year, no one is perfect, and food was delicious nonetheless. Breakfast potato's were great home style, mimosa was good, and my server was lovely.

Yelp
Hey y'all... here's the real deal on this place. The location is awesome.. lots of space and light, they also have a street patio which is super! The food is on point.. i had their version of a smash burger.. 2 pattie's with cheese on brioche. Smash burgers are tricky.. to much smash it'll get dry and tough.. theirs was 7 out of 10 but the ambiance made up for it! my guest had salad bowl with chicken & quinoa.. talk about being happy with their choice.. it was a winner. The only let down was the fountain soda.. FLAT.. they serve Boylan which i was really looking forward to enjoying as it's my favorite soft drink.. but again it was flat as a Donald Trump joke.. yeah i went there:-/ Overall i highly recommend this place and i'll be back. God Bless and Good Eats Y'all

Yelp
My husband and I started the new year waiting for the Cone Walk on Cary Street. The day was bright, beautiful and there was a joyous feeling in the air prior to watching folks (and pets) dressed as cones. We are a biracial couple and we had arrived earlier than planned for the walk, so we decided to eat at The Daily Kitchen and Bar. Although the eatery was about half full, we were immediately seated in the back right next to the kitchen and restrooms. (BIPOC know the tendency of certain eating establishments to place so-called "undesirables" right next to toilets or kitchens--I guess out of sight and out of mind, AND may I add, who wants to smell someone's waste while dining). So, I start my new year by dining at the "designated" place for Black folks, never mind the many other available tables. And yes, I was the only Black woman there at the time. FYI, I've eaten at The Daily Kitchen and Bar before, and with relatives, so this is a new issue for me at this establishment. Now, my new year begins with the drip-drip of this insult. On the other hand, the waitress was very kind and attentive.

Yelp
Buddha bowl tasted great! A bit pricey but service was great and there are very healthy options on the menu.

Yelp
The food and drinks are amazing here! Staff is friendly and the space is clean and relaxing. I've been twice and enjoyed it both times.

Yelp
Came here for a lunch date as we were looking for a cute place in Carytown. The Daily is relatively new and offers a trendy modern option to some of the more Richmondesque usuals. The atmosphere is bright, clean, and chic with plenty of space to seat (outdoor, tables, bar). The drink menu has plenty to choose from and delicious! The food menu is pretty classic American, and I would love to come for dinner one day, but as far as brunch, it will satisfy the standard expectations and cravings. Nothing too outstanding to report on in terms of the food itself or the service, but no complaints overall. A solid choice for dining and would recommend coming back!

Yelp
Just came back tonite with my friend for dinner. We were seated within 2 minutes. I was amazed it wasn't crowded but it being Cinco de Mayo may have played a role. We had the Guacamole with blue chips and Calamari for starters. My entree was the Shrimp with linguine & zucchini noodles. Lots of plump perfectly cooked shrimp and the dish was quite filling. My friend opted for the chopped salad which she said was fantastic. I had this fabulous blueberry basil margarita to say it was definitely divine is an understatement. Despite the restaurant not being super busy it was a struggle to find our waitress to pay our bill. We ended up getting up and paying at the bar instead -2 points.

Yelp
Service was very slow on a Saturday morning, even though the place did not seem busy. The food was decent, but not great. I wouldn't mind returning if the service improves.

Yelp
If your looking for gluten free or vegan options the Daily is always good. Never had any issues with service Matt took care of the table. The ambiance is always good as well for brunch, lunch or dinner. When the wall is open the breeze is always nice.
