The Damai

Absolutely loved our 8 day stay in this beautiful property! Had the Private Pool Villa (#6 - Lychee Tree), it was a perfect little sanctuary. The staff are all amazing and so lovely and friendly. Yoga sessions Monday & Thursday morning with Eka were top notch. Food was incredibly delicious - breakfast was solid, but dinner (which we ate half the time at the property) was definitely bib gourmand worthy. We often chose the 3 course set menu which was so flavourful - 35€/person, more expensive than a Warung of course but the quality was better than we can sometimes get back home in Europe. Cocktail game was also solid. Had a nice massage and soy bean scrub, with an amazing floral soak. The property offers a shuttle to Lovina beach which was convenient as we went there every other day. One downfall to the location is that another hotel/property (?) behind our room can be loud - sometimes it would play loud music for short periods during the day (luckily never when sleeping). Having said that it wouldn’t stop us from returning. The housekeeping staff were always efficient - cleaning your room while at breakfast or turning down over dinner - leaving small treats for your return. Good quality sheets, 4 bottles of water a day, and nice toiletries. Thank you to all the amazing staff for an unforgettable stay - can’t wait to be back!

We didn't initially plan to visit Lovina; however, a spontaneous decision led us to change our itinerary and arrive there. The hotel was like a piece of heaven nestled in the jungle. We stayed in a pool villa room, which was a fantastic experience! The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and accommodating. Even when we encountered some minor issues, the team resolved everything in the best possible way. The spa treatment was excellent, offering a highly professional service. I highly recommend this place!

Amazing place. We felt at home from the minute we arrived until the moment we left. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The villas are very comfortable and offer great amenities. We couldn't imagine a better place on Bali when you are looking for a peaceful place surrounded by nature. Spa is amazing, just like food and drinks. If you like sightseeing, there's plenty do around and the hotel itself offers a variety of trips and activities to do. We only wish we could stay longer and we are going to miss this place.

Very disappointing and misleading. We arrived during the day, and when we returned after dinner the bathroom was full of cockroaches, including flying ones. Ants were all over the room. This clearly shows no pest control — completely unacceptable. The hotel is old, worn out, and poorly maintained. Photos and reviews online are deceiving. Dinner was a joke: a tomato & goat cheese salad with almost no cheese. When we asked, the waiter showed a tiny melted piece hidden under a tomato and then added a bit more. Cheap and embarrassing. The staff are very kind, but that’s simply the culture in Bali and does not compensate for the hygiene and maintenance issues. Overpriced and unhygienic. Do not recommend.

Had a wonderful experience at the Damai. It was our first visit to Lovina and the resort was great.Accomodation was first rate and the breakfast was amazing - probably one of the best we’ve had anywhere. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and made our stay very comfortable. The only reason we refrained from giving it a 5 rating was the exceptionally expensive dinner menu. We had one dinner at the resort and the quality was excellent - not surprising as the resort prides itself on offering a gourmet experience. Unfortunately, the price of the dinner meals and the quantity didn't deliver value. We found excellent local restaurants at a quarter of the price. While not gourmet, these local restaurants served up excellent food at a more realistic price point considering the Bali context. A larger offering on the menu offering more reasonable pricing would deliver a 5+ rating.

The Damai Lovina is amazing, the nature is incredible and the views were breathtaking. Most importantly the staff working at the hotel are so thoughtful, kind and welcoming. That has made our stay smooth and unique.|The breakfast buffet and a La Carte are delicious and spa treatments were some of the best for this stay|We also rented the hotel car to visit Sekumpul waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfall i have ever seen.|I would highly recommend this hotel

I visited the Damai with my lovely husband and our two grown up kids🫶 The phrase « hard to find - hard to leave » fits perfect. The Damai is a place you want to revisit. The atmosphere and the service from staff is perfect ❤️ I will be back for sure. Thank you for a truly “tranquil” stay (yoga, spa, massage, delicious servings and great cocktails) 🙏

We spent four nights in the 2 Bedroom Family Pool Villa at The Damai – and it was absolutely amazing. The villa is spacious, elegant, and completely private, with a lovely garden and a private pool where we spent many peaceful hours surrounded by palm trees and mountains. It truly felt like our own little paradise.||This was our 10th visit to The Damai since 2006, and the place continues to exceed our expectations every single time. There’s a special calm and atmosphere here that we haven’t found anywhere else on Bali.||The service is outstanding – friendly, personal, and professional. Everything is done with a smile and a genuine desire to make your stay as perfect as possible. Breakfast was a daily highlight, and the restaurant serves some of the best food we’ve had on the island – a mix of local and international dishes, all beautifully prepared.||The Damai is the perfect place if you’re looking for peace, comfort, and luxury – yet still want to be close to Lovina and the local experiences. We traveled as a family and felt at home from the moment we arrived. We truly hope to return – for the 11th time!
