We stayed here for 2nights during our road trip to Nova Scotia. The cabin was very cozy and comfortable.Just few steps away from The Atlantic Ocean. Ton , the owner of the cottage is very friendly and cooperative, since it was our first time around Cabot Trail. He suggested us few places to visit around Cabot trail and it was worth it.

Love the food, the people, the place and overall experience. If you are going to Cabot Trail please make this a necessary stop and make sure to try their own version of pancakes. Ask for Chef’s special. They also collect all the moose drawings by visitors. They have a beautiful waterfront albeit super rocky and cottages looks so nice but we were not staying, we just went for breakfast.

We stayed in one of the cabins overnight and could not recommend it more. It’s extremely cozy and rustic but with all the amenities you might want. We appreciated the space heater for our mid October stay. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. We saw the most beautiful sunrise over the beach in the morning. We saw seal heads poking out of the ocean! It was the perfect end to our trip. Breakfast at the cafe was absolutely delicious. We loved the moose art from customers all over the walls. Overall this place is definitely worth a visit and we will certainly be back when we get back to the area.

It’s nice environment and good vibes. Breakfast was good. Good to stop for a while for your meal and also you can buy some souvenirs.

This was the best cafe I have visited in NS by far. There was only a couple tables that faced the waterfront and the staff were friendly. I tried their farmer pannenkoeken (dutch crepes) and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a lot of cheese but it was very flavorful with bits of peppers, onions, mushroom, and ham. The best dish however was their Soup du jour. It was a spicy, herby vegetable chicken soup and it was some of the best I have ever had.

A friend recommended we stop and try the PANNENKOEK or Dutch pancakes, very similar to Yorkshire pudding, but much sweeter, served with icing sugar, fresh fruit and a lovely helping of whipped cream on top. It was heavenly! Caroline and I shared a 12” pancake and I’m ever so slightly regretful that I had to share. Along with the congenial host, the Dancing Moose Cafe made a wonderful stop along the Cabot Trail, and we will be sure to visit again. Update: 2022-08-26 Our second visit. The food and service were fantastic, and I enjoyed every mouthful of the pancakes. I'm looking forward to visit next year.

Could not have asked for a better host. Ton was fantastic, and really super nice. The cafe is perfect for a really tasty and filling breakfast before hitting the trails. The muffins and coffee to go are great if you can't wait for breakfast (although I just recommend both). The cabins and bathroom amenities were spacious, exceedingly clean, and still private enough that you don't feel ontop of your neighbours. And two paws up from our feline companion that couldn't get enough of her cabin life. She probably spent more time on the ladder to/and in the annex than anywhere else in the cabin. I would 100% recommend to everyone. This is our only place to stay in Cape Breton now.

Beautiful environment and only 3 mins’ walk you can reach the seaside and enjoy the peaceful and beautiful views. Ton is so nice and a talented chef as well. You won’t miss the breakfast here.

Yelp
Excellent stop and must try the Dutch Panekoock. Very small but inviting with view to water from dining room

Yelp
Fantastic Place!! Think: Hot, steamy, crusty giant pancake! 1. Don't let the word "pannekoek" distract you - when I ordered I asked for gluten free and the cook (CHEF) said he made gluten free pancakes (Pannekoek is a fancy word for more pancake than crepe) that were really good - and he was RIGHT! I had already had breakfast and I saw one of these - ordered it and took it with me. It was MAGNIFICIENT. I had it plain with powdered sugar and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten. I tore chunks of the steaming sweet dough and ate it in bite-size chunks as we drove with windows down with chilly wind wafting through. Oh, my friends got regular (not gluten free) waffles that they said were terrrific! 2. Don't let their web site photos influence you - the food is a thousand times better than the photos look! 3. Here is the reason we stopped. Our B&B gave us coupons for breakfast and we could use the coupon here or at The Clucking Hen. We wanted to check the places out so we stopped at the Dancing Moose and it was closed at the time. We peeked through the window and the cook (CHEF) saw us, unlocked the door, came out and said they were not open yet but "Do you need the ladies room? You are welcome to use it." Now, WHO is that nice these days? We didn't but we promised to come back so we did. We were the winners in that decision! 4. If you like, try this place. We had a great time and the food was wonderful! We went back and we will go back every time we go to Cabot Trail which will be frequent as we have visitors who come and want to see the Cabot Trail!

Yelp
The best place I've eaten on the Cabot Trail, by far. They make their own bread, they have a large pannekoek menu. Pannekoek is crepe based dishes, savoury and sweet. I'm eating their crab roll and it's amazing, comes with a really good side salad.
