"Hotel Darby is technically over state lines in Pennsylvania, it’s a short walk to the town of Narrowsburg, New York, very much in the Catskills. And, it’s from beloved Catskills boutique hotel brand Foster Supply Co., known for hotels like the DeBruce and Kenoza Hall. Its latest property is this 27-room restored 1960s building, complete with expansive grounds near the Delaware River, a cozy hammock grove with lawn games, firepits, and a private trail system." - Devorah Lev-Tov

The Darby is a hidden gem with beautiful views and very comfortable rooms. We were looking for a place that was close to Woodloch Resort and it was a very convenient 15 min drive. We stayed in a King Room and the bed was SUPER comfortable and the decor was very cute. Also loved how there was a pitcher of water in the room. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and we loved the vibe at the bar. The kitchen was closed by the time we got back from the wedding but they graciously gave us plenty of snacks to hold us over until the adorable continental breakfast in the morning. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quaint place to stay in the area!

I chose to stay at the Darby Hotel the last time I visited Narrowsburg, NY. It is a hidden little gem right across the bridge and a five minute walk to all the shops and restaurants in Downtown Narrowsburg.||The hotel was a former nursing home but the owners have assured that it is nothing like that inside. The interior has nicely furnished common rooms and soft music and lighting. There are plenty of places to sit and talk and the hotel encourages mingling.||What I enjoyed was the fire pit outside the hotel in the evening to sit and relax and talk to other guests. Another nice place to talk to people is at the Continental breakfast the hotel has in the morning. I thought the hotel should have provide a bit more food as people were really hungry in the morning.||The best part of the hotel is the rooms. The bed is so soft and firm that you sink right into it and will get one of the best nights sleep you will get in this quiet environment at night. There is a bar on premise that everyone was enjoying and it was further away from the rooms.||The hotel is a real hipster hangout and some of the locals stop up and have drinks at the bar so you never know who may meet at the fire pit.||I just enjoyed staying here to get away from it all. It was such a nice stay with a good night’s sleep and wonderful service throughout the stay. What nice grounds to walk around as well.

If you are looking for a romantic weekend away or just some solo R&R look no further! This place was absolutely everything we could have asked for and more. Every single staff member was more pleasant and welcoming than the last. Truly is a “home away from home” type of feel. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable here. We got rained out, but still had the best time as they have tons of vintage board games, a pool table, fire pits with complementary smores kits, and exquisite cocktails and bites! The atmosphere is just all around great! The quality of each detail really sets this place apart from others. Local artists work is displayed throughout and each room has a very simplistic yet modern lodge feel. Our favorite part that really made it feel “cozy” was the establishment is dog friendly. We had the pleasure of interacting with a few pups this weekend but the owners dog stole our hearts! She will occasionally roam around and greet you. Extremely well trained and such a wholesome touch. Can’t say enough great things about this establishment. Highly recommend!

My husband and I just spent this past weekend at the Darby. When we drove up it looked nice - MCM flair but lacking in signage. Our room was nice and seemed recently updated. Linens and bedding were above average. We tried to call out to make a dinner reservations but had no cell signal and no phone in our room. Nighttime was beyond horrible. Loud music and even louder people in the bar. My husband tried to get folks to quit down but unfortunately that did NOT happen. The Darby is dog friendly so imagine how all that noise affected them. I stayed up well past midnight before trying to sleep. Do NOT recommend the Darby especially if you expect to spend the night. Very disappointing…..

Pros - Cute, clean, nice employees, decent location, comfy bed, nice sheets, dog friendly (they even gave us a ball and poop bags). Free pool table and games. Fire pits available. Cons - Safety NOT guaranteed (I was a locksmith for 10 years). Door locks are unbelievably cheap on room doors (our dog sniffed another door and it pushed open) and our chain lock was installed backwards. So when the door is pushed open, it falls out providing zero security. Bathroom windows are about 95% covered in window film, but if you're walking around outside you can still see inside. No one is on site after hours. Lots of missing art on the walls with just screws and holes along common areas. Bathroom door wouldn't close in our room. First impressions aren't great (piles of ice melt and a rusty cart just parked outside the entry door). Zero accommodations if you want to walk into town (no path or any lights for safety, we used our cellphone light while having to walk in the road to get to the bridge). Cocktails at the bar are NYC prices. No beer available. Piles of junk by the common bathroom outside of the bar. Siding on the main house area is very dirty and green (not nice looking at all). ZERO sound dampening. We brought a fan and Bluetooth headbands for white noise. Our new friend showed us their room. One window which was covered by a window AC unit and had a bathroom the size of our NYC apartment. The units are all over the place when it comes to size, layout, and views. Overall, we would stay again if we were in the area, but might look for other accommodations if we needed good rest. As a General Contactor based in NYC, they cut corners on the renovation which severely affects safety and comfort.

Google
On point interiors with funky, mid-century furniture, lighting and paint choices. The bar is also lovely and features a nice fire place. Unfortunately they did not invest in quality HVAC (window unit) or acoustics (no separation between room and corridor, could hear everything in the corridor and lobby) and bad coffee. But the location was sweet and in general the vibe was good.

The Darby is everything we could have wanted in a hotel. It is the perfect blend of stylish mid-century design and top-notch comfort. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were transported by its chic vintage decor — think velvet jewel tones, vintage lighting fixtures, and sleek lines that all come together beautifully. From the lobby and the gorgeous common spaces to the individual rooms, every area is thoughtfully designed with guest comfort in mind -- and our bed was a dream! What truly made my stay exceptional, however, was the attentive staff. They were always available to offer local tips, ensure everything was running smoothly, and make sure we felt special. Their passion for the hotel and its guests was evident, and it made our stay all the more memorable. We can't wait to return and enjoy another stay at this delightful retreat!

I think I’d probably give it a 3.5 if I’m being honest, but everyone on the staff was so friendly and helpful that I bumped it up. The positives: comfortable bed, good toiletries, lovely location, great bar, and though it’s not open yet, I definitely want to come back when they finish the pool. The things that underwhelmed me: the furniture in the room apart from the bed wasn’t very useful (bedside table was netting so you can’t put a glass of water on it), the exterior isn’t particularly nice looking, the hours at the bar are too short (they didn’t open until 5 on a Saturday), and the property in general feels a bit unfinished. That said, I’d absolutely return, and would recommend to anyone looking for a change from the usual suspects of Upstate destinations.

Yelp
Lucky us. Most restaurants in the area start closing on Tuesday and Wednesday as the summer fades. But the bar and restaurant in the Darby hotel is open. It's all about craft cocktails and gastro pub fare. The menu is limited but it's all we needed. Great burgers and loaded fries. We found a new fav place.

Yelp
We stayed two nights at The Darby and will definitely be going back. Overall: This mid-century modern hotel is exceptionally decorated, comfortable, and the staff has incredible hospitality. It is a short five minute walk to Narrowsburg restaurants and shops. Rooms: The rooms are comfortable, great heating system, and wonderful shower and water pressure. Very comfortable beds and linens. The artwork in our room was great- plus there was a telescope in our room!! Lobby Experience: If I can give 10 stars, I would! The lobby staff is warm and inviting, helped us with our bags, offered coffee and danishes in the morning, pool table, intimate pockets to enjoy a game of chess while soaking up a beautifully decorated experience. Bar: Hands down best cocktails I've had and very reasonably priced. This is a true cocktail bar. Warm lighting, comfortable tables, artwork, plants, a fireplace, and great playlist. The menu has a great offering and the bar staff very attentive. This is a fantastic place to unwind by the fire and enjoy a carefully crafted cocktail. There were a few locals that were at the bar that were so friendly, giving us great town recommendations. 10/10 experience. Staff: The staff was exceptional, very genuine and authentic. The level of hospitality they offered was something I rarely come across while traveling. Had an incredible stay and will definitely be back.

What the actual f!?& so unprofessional and girl said housekeeping isn't responsible followed up with someone else destroyed a room so emotions were high?! Wtf ... so you go after a couple for something so stupid! We were in bed by 7 and heard all sorts of noise and slamming and ugggghhhhhthe stairs (ummmm that's your job to cater to your patrons!!!!I've stayed at many hotels and NEVER been so disrespected. Don't hire dumbasses and get an fn elevator‍

Yelp
This is a quaint little nursing home turned hotel. However not worth the price when you can't sleep at night, the entire point of a hotel. I stayed for one night with my mother for her birthday, we went to a concert and got home around midnight, there was a raging party going on outside and also in the bar, which was right next to our room. Because of this there wasn't enough parking left for guests, and since this is a renovated nursing home, they clearly didn't install any upgraded sound proofing to allow guests to sleep in this event. The party in the bar went on till about 2pm (it is advertised as closing at 11pm), then we heard the clanging of dishes for a while after that. There was no manager or staff on site, I tried the text message only phone number but not no response that night or the following day. When we checked out I asked the very nice girl at reception to have the manager call me before charging my card. No one ever called me and I was charged immediately. It's a cute idea for a hotel but not functional and not run with guests in mind. It's also just not worth the price, sadly even if we could have slept.

Yelp
we've stayed at the Darby twice. it's a very cute little motel with a very appealing decor. There are plenty of communal areas to hang out in. Leon who works there is so friendly and helpful. Both times we stayed in a King Suite which was quite large for our family. Every thing was clean. We will be back!

Yelp
So this "hotel" is a no for me. It's an old nursing home that's been converted into a "hotel". Going in I knew there weren't any TV's in the room, no biggie, I can deal with that. They do include binoculars to play bird bingo if that's your thang. What I didn't know was that there's zero privacy in the rooms, you can hear everything and I mean everything, including someone coughing in the room across the hall. In our room, the shower was in the living space. If I'm laying on the bed and look to the right you see the shower curtain. It's separate from the actual bathroom. What I can say was the bed was super comfortable and thank god for that. There was a huge stain on the carpet in our room and the room smelled like feet. Our room was also very close to the common areas and if there's people hanging out there you can hear everything. We woke up on our second day to NO WATER. None, zilch, nada. We heard loud whishing and churning to where my husband ran in the bathroom thinking something was about to explode. So the entire hotel couldn't shower, use the toilet etc... The front desk employee which I've since found out is the GM and was super nice really did try his very best all weekend to give us a good experience but sadly this just wasn't my type of hotel and for what you pay you're not getting much.

Yelp
We've stayed at a bunch of the other Foster Supply properties and this one's consistent with what we've come to expect. Vintage vibe, a building with an interesting history (but not haunted...); a good arrangement of common areas, bar & fireplace and more (we had them to ourselves which was fine). We reserved one of the nice big upstairs rooms, with a super comfy bed, large bathroom with a great shower/bath. So glad there are no TVs. A good location for us as we hadn't been to Narrowsburg in about 10 years. The hotel's namesake manager was very helpful, personable and arranged for us to have a fire to come back to after the dinner reservation she made for us. Would come back anytime.

Yelp
I'd love to leave them a proper review, but from the onset, no one picks up the phone at the hotel. We've been trying since last Thursday. They have a 5-day (in advance) cancellation policy which is equal to 50% of the stay, and my job requires me to be on-call sometimes, so at $300/night for 4 nights, that's a risk--so I wanted to know if I could call to book 24 hours ahead of time, but alas, no one is on the other end to pick up the phone. Generally, I stay clear of pricey hotels that don't pick up the phone because if you need anything, you have no choice but to email.

Yelp
Expensive especially for what you get. Try the many lovely inexpensive airbnb's in the area

Yelp
This is a new hotel from the owners of the North Branch Inn, the Arnold House and the DeBruce. Built in the 60s, I'm guessing, and formerly a community home, the Darby still retains a bit of a musty air and isn't a beauty from the front. However, the rooms are comfy, colorful, and have nearly everything you need. The beds are great. There's a pool table, a fire pit with s'mores, and games and hiking trails. And the hotel is a one-minute drive from pretty little Narrowsburg, NY, with its hipster shops, gallery, and restaurants. Not to mention a five-minute drive from Two Queens, a fabulous coffee shop. Which is good because the hotel doesn't really do breakfast (just wrapped muffins and percolator coffee) and doesn't have a real bar (some wine and beer on request). Very nice staff, btw.

Yelp
We booked this place months in advance, and when arriving, were disappointed by the room situation. We did not realize that the standard room did not include a "full bathroom" meaning the showers are located outside of the bathroom and attached to the closet. For the price we were paying, we felt like this was unacceptable. After changing to a suite (which is what was advertised to us as the room we would be staying in) we were really happy with the hotel. It was very clean and the common areas were great. Lots of activities on site, comfortable beds, and good vibes. Phil working at the front desk was very helpful and a great asset to the hotel, however it seemed like there were not other staff present and at times it was hard to get assistance. Understaffed, but the staff we did encounter were very nice. Overall, because of the price for a room at this hotel that would have an acceptable bathroom situation, I am not sure I would stay here again and would rather spend my $250/night elsewhere to enjoy a shower in a bathroom.
