We started at the blending bench with our host Mike which we enjoyed then headed to the next floor to have some lunch a gin cocktail and a wine we then went and checked out the art museum on the first floor which was interesting. The art everywhere is quirky and fun. We took a look at the art Marque and finished our day with some bottles of wine to have when we got home. The views are wonderful and the cube is quirky ,fun and unique with a really good vibe. The toilets are definitely a talking point 😊

What a gem of a winery - the d’Arenberg Cube blew us away from start to finish. Ground level hosts a free art space that’s totally MONA-esque - immersive and unforgettable. Level 2 features real Salvador Dalí works - mind officially blown. Level 3 café serves vibrant SE Asian bites that hit the spot. Level 4 tasting room offers panoramic vineyard views and incredible pours. Their Sauvignon Blanc with hints of jalapeño and green capsicum alone was worth the trip. Friendly staff, unique vibes, and an experience you won’t find anywhere else - can’t wait to cube again!

We popped up in The d’Arenberg Cube in McLaren Vale SA 5171 at the day after the King’s Birthday holiday 2025. The admission free is $20 per adult including either red or white flight tasting and free historical and artwork visit. Thanks Hugo and Mike, who served us and gave us the information. My overall experience is more than satisfactory 👍

I’d say the number 1 winery to visit, perhaps in all of SA. The building itself and views are simply unmatched. Any fan of wine, arts, and natural landscapes has to visit. The $20 entry included tasting of five white or red wines on the beautiful top floor, and access to the rest of the building’s decorative installations. We also spent $10 on the Dali exhibit, which was well worth it. It’s a very cool looking spot but maybe not the best for kids. There isn’t much for them here.

The d’Arenberg Cube is truly unlike any other winery experience in McLaren Vale. Designed as a five-storey architectural marvel perched among the vines, it’s a fantastical space where fine wine, immersive art, and creative imagination converge. It’s a wonderful place to spend an afternoon — whether you’re enjoying a long lunch, indulging in a tasting, or simply wandering through the multiple levels of curated spaces. The food offering is exceptional, with dishes that are both refined and rooted in the local region, perfect when paired with d’Arenberg’s bold, characterful wines. What makes the Cube particularly special is its eclectic and surreal art gallery, home to a stunning collection of Salvador Dalí sculptures and artworks. These pieces, set within the quirky interior of the Cube, create a captivating contrast — bold surrealism against contemporary Australian winemaking. From melting clocks to surreal bronze sculptures, the Dalí exhibition invites guests into a dreamlike world, elevating the experience well beyond a typical cellar door visit. The Cube also features sensory rooms, a virtual fermenter, and a curated tasting room with panoramic views of McLaren Vale — each element adding another layer to the experience. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast, an art lover, or simply looking for something unexpected and inspiring, d’Arenberg’s Cube is a must-visit destination that blends indulgence with imagination.

Beautifully set out, quirky exhibition with great details. Definitely worth a visit to see the sculptures, inside and out of The Cube, and (of course) a wine tasting experience.

We booked the distilled tour of the D'arenburg Cube, which started at the Roof bar with sampling of the 6 Settlers Gins, followed by a great lunch on Level 2 in the Circus Restaurant , then back up to the roof bar for the wine tastings followed by a viewing of the Salvador Dali exhibition level 3, make sure you check out the interesting toilets on level 1 and the delightful art display in the stairwell on the way. Then finished with the 360o theater below for a sensory experience, totally recommended this package deal as great value for money and they have you personally booked throughout it all avoiding waiting as can get quite busy. And the views of the Mclarenvale are spectacular as you can see all the way to the ocean

Google
Expensive work of arts were on exhibition when we visited, in-house restaurant has a limited menu, entry fee includes wine tasting on top floor that offers great view of the surrounding. Just be ready to get surprised when you use the toilets!

Yelp
One of the world's best restaurants full stop. An experience like no other. First there is the crazy good wine Disney experience of the Wine museum as you walk into the new $9 million 'Cube'. Then there is the architectural splendour of the building itself which is designed to capture the amazing views of the surrounding McLaren Vale area. The decor is amazing and the restaurant is not over crowded. The 18 course lunch served over 3 hours was world class modern cuisine with a few innovative Chester Osborn modifications.

Yelp
I have never used the word "sublime" to describe anything, but there's a first time for everything. Well, at least most things. Went with the Prix fixe....and so glad I did. Food was amazing. Service, if it could be possible, was as good or even better than the food. Kudos to Frank for being 'server/advisor/culinary tour guide' of the year.

Yelp
We came to celebrate our first wedding Anniversary so unknowingly to them, the stakes were high and they did not miss a beat. Everything was perfection. The food, the service, the wine, the pace, the view, the value for money. I rolled out of there devastated that I could not physically fit in the last few slithers of cheese. If you are coming out to McLaren Vale I highly recommend a lunch visit here for a money well spent splurge.

Yelp
I have been coming here again and again for many years - it has consistently been a 5 star restaurant, and have always maintained their high standards. Yes, you really need to book in advance - it is always packed full, so not good for walk-ins. It has the most amazing ambience, simple yet stylish decor, a gorgeous outdoor area when weather permits, and the most stunning view of the vineyards. Food is always amazing - not cheap, but you leave feeling like every dollar was very well spent! Their specialities are scallops served in a variety of ways, and their Lobster Medallion with Blue Swimmer Crab & Prawn Ravioli & Lobster Bisque is always on their entree menu (for $30 - but it is amazing!). The last time I came here, I had the Pork Belly (which is still on the menu) - it was stunning, and very melt-in-your-mouth (one of those 'ooooooooh' moments). We were part of a large table of diners, but the staff were as efficient as if we were a table of two. We had brought people who had never experienced D'arrys before, and they were absolutely stunned and impressed! It's that sort of place ;) There isn't a kids menu, but the staff will look after kids in a subtle and clever manner (I assume this is to discourage people thinking it's a 'family-friendly' restaurant - kids are OK if they are well behaved :P). Nothing is a hassle, staff know a lot about the menu items and wine (of course, D'Arenberg wine is the best!), and they are incredibly efficient and well-trained. Lots of desserts to choose from - their soft-centred chocolate pudding is another item that never leaves the menu. I tried the Salty Caramel Tapioca last time, which was to die for. Do I sound over-the-top gushy in this review? That's because I am ... and that's why I keep coming back, and recommending it to others! ;)

Yelp
We had the eight course meal, suppose to go for four hours, went for six. Coming from a luxury hotel management background in the US, the compensation we received was very disappointing when we had received the chefs hair in our food. Monetary compensation or a complimentary glass of wine would have been nice. It seems like they are a bunch of penny pinchers who are not willing to sacrifice something so small to make up for someone's bad experience.

Yelp
Perched on the side of a hill within the d'Arenberg wine estate, overlooking vineyards of Maclaren Vale, is d'Arry's Verandah Restaurant. The restaurant dining room, which shares the building with the estate's cellar door, is cosy and unpretentious, windows run the length of one side expose diners to the picturesque views of the vale, yielding a sense of place and season. The menu, which showcases seasonal and local produce, and off course, complimenting the very fine d'Arenberg wines, are thoughtfully put together by Head Chef Peter Reschke. Entrees range from $23 to $28, Mains from $33 to $38, and Desserts from $17 to $25. The selection of wines and beverages is extensive and generous, not limited to just what is produced on the estate or the country. The Lobster Medallion with Blue Swimmer Crab & Prawn Raviolli & Lobster Bisque deserves special mention. It is the house-speciality, a regular item on the menu and a veritable institution within the Adelaide fine-dining scene. The service is attentive but not overbearing, friendly without being over-familiar.  It is easy to understand how this restaurant has come to accumulate the many awards and accolades it has over the years. In the 4 years we have been coming, to celebrate special occasions and share special friendships, we have always enjoyed the excellent food and superb service, and not once have we been disappointed. It is, in our opinion, one of the cornerstones of the Adelaide fine-dining scene and an exemplary proponent of Modern Australian cuisine.

Yelp
I gave this 5 stars because of the overall experience! We had the Degustation menu with wine pairing. The food was very good and went well with the wine pairing. We had the optional Lobster Medallion instead of the Prawn for $10 (not sure it was worth the trouble - very small - although it is a Degustation menu and to be expected! The presentation of the food was excellent and the innovative cuisine, however it did seem to lack flavour! The staff were excellent, friendly helpful, even offered to move us to another table when 30 people arrived next to us with babies and toddlers in tow! They were fine! Beautiful setting and if the day had been warmer sitting outside would be even better.

Yelp
I decided to be organized this year and brought my family along for Mother's Day lunch. We had a set menu and it was $80 per person. It was one of he best food and wine experiences I have had for a very long time. For my entree I had the rabbit terrine with white anchovy sauce and buttermilk dressing. It was delicious. For the main I had the Inman valley rolled chicken on parsnip mash topped with a radish salad and it was one of the nicest meals I have ever had. The desert was my favorite part....chocolate pudding surrounded by chocolate pop rocks, a scoop honey and chocolate ice cream and Jaffa flavored fudge pieces. We all complemented our meals with a glass of the Love Grass Shiraz. All in all such an amazing experience and I think I might just make it our annual Mother's Day treat from now on :) the staff were great too

Yelp
d'Arrys Veranda is a real destination restaurant and seems perennially booked out! If you're organised, however, there's no need to let their popularity put you off cos they sure are onto a good thing down there in Mclaren Vale. The location is picturesque and the atmosphere is always pretty happening due to the combined restaurant and cellar door popularity. The restaurant is literally a veranda which is protected from the elements and the food is as good as any to be found in Adelaide with that nouveau mediterranean, haute cuisine vibe. Mains are between $30 and $40, but you'll be wanting an entree or dessert as well making the per head food spend easily reach $80 plus. If you're into dining I know this won't put you off, but if it makes you cringe this would be a great special occassion destination. I've done the degustation before which really appeals as I love having decisions made for me, I also love taking my time over a lazy lunch. The deg menu will set you back $90 and the matching wines (but of course - you must) $50. Maybe make sure you have a designated driver? Bags not it!

Yelp
Nice food, but overpriced it's very noisy and two many international buses for my liking. Go to a smaller winery for a better experience

Yelp
Everything about this place is 5 star. Food service wine environment is perfect. I would recommend doing the degustation menu if you have a few hours. We didn't get to do this due to lack of time so I will definitely be back to do this. The kangaroo tail main was absolutely delicious and melted in your mouth. Dessert was too yummy and I overindulged but enjoyed every bite with guilty pleasure. I think this place has taken number 1 on my favourite restaurants. Perfection at its best.

Yelp
An excellent afternoon, with wonderful, attentive (but not overbearing) service, very good food and a perfect vista.

Yelp
Had a lovely leisurely Sunday lunch with family at d'Arry's last weekend for a family celebration. We have dined here a few times over the past few years and was pleased that it has not, as some restaurants do over time, lost it's edge. Between the six of us having three courses, no one was disappointed. The service was spot on, efficient but at the same time friendly and relaxed. The ambience, view, quality of food and being able to taste the wines in the tasting room make it a great dining experience. I will be back! And a tip, if you are not a big eater, skip entree or have two entrees instead of a main because you can not miss dessert - they are to die for!

Yelp
I had heard hat d'Arry's is one of those "must do" places, and after having lunch there for the first time recently I can see why. Great location overlooking hills and the vineyard (it is of course a winery). Attentive unpretentious staff were there when required to refill a glass and top up bread etc but were not intrusive. It also seemed that they were willing to be flexible regarding the menu. We selected the 8 course degustation which was fantastic. It was the perfect size for lunch, and was great value at $95pp. The lobster, crab and prawn dish was amazing.. and the chocolate pudding with chocolate ice-cream and chocolate pop rocks was a chocolate lovers dream come true. Up there with Peter Gilmore's 8-texture chocolate cake. The wine list was extensive as expected for a winery; with a full range of d'Arrys wines by the glass available. The list also offered other wines, beers, ciders etc. Allow a few hours here- after lunch and a visit to the adjoining cellar door a nap on the lawn may be required.

David H.

Yelp
We were looking for a truely special meal for a special occasion and d'Arry's Verandah served it up in spades. The 8 course degustation was simply sublime, cannot fault one dish or wine pairing on a meal that I do very rarely. For me the Lobster Medallion with Blue Swimmer Crab and Lobster Bisque was just one of the most exquisite dishes I have had and that was in a playing field packed with flavours that kept my palette yearning for more. My partner had the vegetarian option which hit the mark and even as a committed carnivore I would have really enjoyed. A final mention to the chocolate desert, (something I generally shy away from, especially after 7 previous courses), well if you only ever do a chocolate desert once do this one and accept the extra kilos the next day. We did an Uber to the restaurant from/to Adelaide and made a bit of a day of it. After the meal visiting the Cube for a psychedelic experience and some more wine tasting. Palette definitely gone by this time
