I love this cafe. Could have spent all day. Lovely teas and coffee and icecream. I unfortunately just finished eating somewhere else so didn't have lunch but the other patrons food looked and smelled awesome. The doh down in the shop was waiting for someone to come in to give him pets.

Dark Tickle’s Zodiac tour is the best iceberg alley tour you can do! - the icebergs come from Greenland so they’re bigger and larger quantity when you visit at the north side than south of NL - you go to an area that’s pretty much the iceberg graveyard. There were 5 big icebergs during our visit. - our guide made sure to circle around the icebergs! Everyone got a chance to see it up close from different angles and take photos - he grabbed an iceberg for all of us to see up close - it’s comfortable. 2 per row. Not cramped. Comes with waterproof clothing - I was less dizzy on the zodiac tour than boat tour All in all, visit northern Newfoundland! It’s not heavily promoted but you just increase your chances to see the icebergs by a lot.

We ate lunch here and later did the boat tour to see whales and icebergs. The sculpin cone with local fruit ice cream was fun. The gift shop is amazingly well curated, and I stocked up on dark tickle jams. The boat tour was amazing, thanks to captain Mo. We saw whales and icebergs and a bald eagle. #tmacnl

On our way to our B&B, we passed by this gift shop and a sign for Iceberg Boat Tour, so we stopped by to inquire if there were still icebergs that we can see. Gwen welcomed us warmly. She informed us that there was still one in St Anthony and she called Mo to help us book the tour for the next day. We browsed around the shop and I ended up buying puffin stuffed toys. The next day, after our boat tour, we stopped by to thank Gwen and showed her the iceberg photos my spouse took. I bought silver jewelries and their locally made chocolates. Their silver jewelries were of very good quality and their chocolates are made right beneath their store. I already tasted the dark chocolate and it was sooo good. We also had their locally made ice cream at the Cafe Nymphe upstairs. I had the partridgeberry flavoured ice cream as recommended and my spouse had the quidi vidi iceberg beer. On our drive back to Deer Lake, we stopped by the shop again to buy more of their iceberg chocolates. At first we didn’t see Gwen but she came out as I paid for the chocolates, so we were able to say our goodbyes. We hugged, and even Meeka, their dog, also came up to us seemingly saying goodbye too. This is the only place we visited 3 times! It felt like going to a relative’s home! We are already planning to go back and will definitely visit Gwen again! PS. There was actually an iceberg that we saw from the shop’s parking lot. It was far but we can still see it. (See photo below, photo does not do justice.) Gwen told us where to park and hike up a hill so we can see it, but the iceberg moved so fast. By the time we found the hill, the iceberg was covered by fog and was further away.

We had the most amazing day thanks to Dark Tickle. We booked the “whales and wild berries” tour as part of our honeymoon celebration and couldn’t be happier! The whale tour with Verrick was amazing - 2 beautiful hours in a zodiac on the water enjoying views, birdwatching, sightings of white-sided dolphins jumping, and a surfacing humpback whale. Our guide knew his stuff, and also gave us such cool biological and historical information on the tour about the area along the way. Both my husband and I are biologists/ecologists for work and even we learned lots of new things! The company obviously cares very much about animals and I really felt they took the safety of the animals, and people on board very seriously - but also made it so much fun! Can’t say thank you enough! :) As part of our package we also got a wonderful themed lunch at Cafe Nymphe and got to take a tour around the facilities and boardwalk the bog. It was such a fun afternoon and all their staff was so wonderful and friendly. :) The boat tour was definitely our favourite part (I mean you can’t beat the scenery and wildlife) but the whole package was awesome - a great option if you like wildlife, yummy food, plants, talking about family businesses, history, and jams - which we totally do!

Awesome home made food. Best food I have eaten in a long time, but don’t tell my wife. Swedish meatballs and Seafood Brewis were our choices A+! Carrot cake for desert!

Yep, no disappointments here, from Mo, our guide and Paul our captain we received a spectacular tour of icebergs, scenery and historical info of the northern Peninsula. Highly recommend checking them out if you're looking for a boat tour. Oh!! Also check their cafeteria and store out as well, from ham & cheese grill sandwich to turkey sliders to Mac & Cheese followed by 🥕 cake and locally made ice cream to complete a perfect holiday experience.

So glad we chose this company. The zodiac boat got us really close to the icebergs. The Captain was very informative and patient. Great Experience!
