Couldn’t recommend the Davenport highly enough. ||||Never in my life have I been offered to check in over 6 hours EARLY for a hotel room, but that’s just what the Davenport did. Coming in hot from a red eye transatlantic flight, we were accommodated with breakfast and our immaculately appointed standard king room before 10am. Bless! ||||Every detail was spot on - bathroom was squeaky clean, water was hot, in-room snacks were delightful. Paint, carpet, linens and towels all felt brand new. Our room was on the first floor up and quiet with nice thick doors and heavy duty lock. What a treat! ||||Location across from Merrion square, near the gallery and museums, plus walkable to trinity college and temple bar was a major plus. We had all the fun walking around without literally sleeping above a pub. ||||For a quick bite we tried Vice pizza and wings across the street (why are carbs so good for jet lag?). Delish and very fun vibe! Truly the perfect first impression of Dublin, couldn’t be happier.

The Davenport is situated in the heart of all the attractions and very convenient. The room was smaller but had 2 chairs and table that we appreciated. We found the bed to be very comfortable. Breakfast is very good, just not as good as comparable hotels in UK. The biggest issue with the hotel is if you need parking. It’s an elevator system that sometimes works, but often doesn’t work. It was actually a nightmare for my husband both going in and out! And the front desk doesn’t prepare you in any way for how the car park works. Staff are overall friendly but not like other comparable hotels we’ve had during our UK trip for the same cost. Would love a robe added to the room.

Google
Lovely hotel in an excellent location. Staff were very helpful, rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast spread was gorgeous. You can walk to everything - Temple Bar, Trinity College, etc. Highly recommended

Loved staying here. The location and history is just incredible. And the staff are top notch! I’d like to say special thanks to Brodie at the bar and Irani at the front desk for taking care of me and helping me store my meds that needed refrigerating. It took one thing off my plate to worry about so I could just enjoy my time in Dublin. Looking forward to coming back soon.

The Davenport hotel is clean, stylish, and very well maintained. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the close location and respect of privacy.||But what really sets this place apart is the incredible staff. Julian and Elizabeth made our stay truly memorable, and their exceptional service will be the reason we return next time. If you're considering staying here—don’t hesitate. You’ll be in very good hands.

Stayed with family in Ireland for the past week and really enjoyed everything. ||I enjoyed the decor of both the bar and the lobby. ||I also really appreciated the kindness and hospitality shared by both Vitol and Evgeni. Both guys were excellent at running the bar/restaurant and offered great conversation!

Google
This is a nice and clean hotel in a pretty convenient location. The rooms are good and comfy, and the food in the restaurant is good if unexceptional. I don't have any real complaints here, but my overall impression is that the hotel is a little overpriced for what it is (especially if you are eating in their restaurant). Still, we weren't disappointed, and it was not a bad place to stay.

Google
This hotel is a 10. We arrived a day late. We called to let them know. They were very accommodating. When we arrived they greeted us like they were waiting for us. We were exhausted. The breakfast is amazing. There is something there for everyone. The bar area serves lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is quaint and eclectic. Very cozy. The staff are on top of their game. Kind, courteous and attentive. We will stay again. We have been telling everyone. The hotel is centrally located. Whether you need an Uber or taxi, they pull right up front. We stayed 4/19/25 for 5 nights. Highly recommend. Thank you to Everyone. We are Beyond Grateful.

Yelp
We were welcomed as soon as we walked into the hotel. Two beautiful ladies, whose names were Rosales and Charlene, chatted us up and told us that we may look a little tired. They were right, we had been traveling for 24 hours and finally arrived at our destination. They were kind enough to upgrade us so that we could have access to the executive lounge, which we took advantage of. Plenty of soda and wine as well as some snack snacks greeted us as well as coffee. We went and looked at the bar, which was inviting, and Danielle, the bartender, tried to talk us into staying for dinner, but we had plans for the pub across the street. The room was comfortable. The bed had me sleeping light and the amenities were plentiful. I will say, though, if you're a fan of hair conditioner, bring your own as we didn't get any here. Their coffee bar included some cookies as the Irish people like to have with their tea and or coffee, different flavors of coffee and multiple teas as well as sweetener if you choose. There is a hairdryer in the room as well as an ironing board and iron. You do have to have your key inserted into the elevator, as well as in the slot in the room to keep your electricity on. There was a refrigerator in the room with a couple of bottles of water, and overall we're very happy with our stay here.

Yelp
This hotel is so beautiful. The building is from the 17th century and located near many museums. It's in a quiet area however within walking distance to the Temple Bar area. Comfortable and luxurious rooms feature premium King Koil bedding, marble-clad ensuites with rainforest walk-in showers, Smart TVs with Chromecast connectivity and complimentary access to Dublin's fastest hotel WiFi, while every guest also has access to our 24-hour gym. Food is great and the staff are over the top friendly. We are so very pleased with our choice of hotel.

Yelp
I can't say enough about the Davenport hotel. To me this is a five star and not a four star. The location is quiet, peaceful and close to everything. The building is gorgeous. The team is exceptional and the service is out of this world. We checked in on my birthday and there were chocolates and a personal handwritten note in the room when we arrived. They also sang happy birthday at the front desk to me when we checked in. Rosie is a true treasure and our entire trip always greeted us with warm friendly smiles. An incredible stay in an incredible city and wish we weren't leaving tomorrow.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel while on a CIE tour ! It was one of my favorite places we stayed . The hotel has recently been reopen and renovated since Covid and let me just say this hotel is beyond spectacular!!! We really enjoyed the hotel lobby bar the cocktails were fantastic very tasty! the staff fun to be around they were all very friendly and super accommodating. The hotel is just a few blocks from the hustle and bustle of the city. As for the rooms it was very clean ,spacious, beautiful bathroom with great water pressure and organically sourced products.

Yelp
If you want to base yourself here, relax for the evening and enjoy a drink at the bar, look elsewhere. Bizarrely, for city centre hotel, they refuse entry to the bar and facilities both to the public and residents well before official closing time. Very strange and poor service when the sector is allegedly looking for more business. If you simply want a bed for the night, it's comfortable. Personally I won't be visiting the place again.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel! Loved the atmosphere throughout the building. The room was a perfect size for my wife and me. We enjoyed the lounge drinks and food. The workers were very nice and had tons of hospitality. Amazing place in the city of Dublin!

Yelp
Fantastic location; stellar service during our Covid stay My husband and I planned to stay at the lovely Davenport for 8 days and then go on a two-week bus tour around Ireland. To our surprise, on day 6 we got Covid, and ended up spending 16 days at the Davenport. We could not have asked for a better place to stay! The hotel gave us wonderful service and treated us so kindly. We highly recommend this hotel for many reasons. Originally we chose the Davenport because it is close to the Dublin museums and landmarks we wanted to see. The Davenport is a 2 minute walk to the National Art Gallery, 7 minutes to the National Archaeology Museum, 8 minutes to St. Stephens Green (a beautiful park), 10 minutes to the Molly Malone statue, 10 minutes to the Pearce Street train station, 11 minutes to the Grafton Street high-end touristy shopping and dining district, 12 minutes to the Book of Kells at Trinity College, etc. The Davenport is in a quiet safe neighborhood. We are senior citizens, and we never saw any sketchy characters anywhere within miles of the hotel. We felt safe. The carved stonework buildings nearby do not exceed about four stories, and are pretty. We walked across the street to the Ginger Man Pub. Kitty corner from the hotel is the excellent Kennedy's pub, established in 1850, where we had several delicious dinners. Bordering Kennedy's is the Trinity College campus. We walked about two blocks to a good Italian restaurant called Il Caffe di Napoli. The hotel recommended these restaurants. Our room had a king-size bed, two comfortable upholstered lounge chairs, another upholstered chair at the desk, a small refrigerator, bedside tables and lamps on each side of the bed, a safe, a nice- sized closet with hangers, a modern bathroom, etc. Our room had a Keurig-style coffee maker, an electric hot water kettle, along with tea bags, coffee and small fresh milk containers. We stayed in room 7432 which is on the fourth floor, although in the United States this would be considered the fifth floor. The hotel has a pleasant dining room where (pre-Covid) we had several tasty breakfasts with many choices. The servers in the dining room were friendly and helpful. We also liked the spacious upscale bar/lounge, where we had drinks before we got Covid. Once we suspected we had Covid, we self-tested positive using kits purchased from Dowlings Pharmacy. This pharmacy is a 7 minute walk away, in a district with non-touristy shops and restaurants. Once we knew we had Covid, we alerted the hotel front desk. We knew we wanted to stay away from others so we would not spread germs. In a short while we received a very helpful informational packet from Colm, the hotel manager. Colm gave us breakfast and lunch menus from the Davenport, and a dinner menu from the Alex, a sister hotel across the street. Colm's letter informed us that we could order room-service by calling the front desk. We had already eaten at the Alex for two dinners, and knew it had good food. We had already enjoyed several great breakfasts in the Davenport dining room. (The Davenport will likely open its own dining room for dinner service once it gets up to full staffing). Colm's letter informed us that hotel staff would not clean our room while we were infected with Covid, but would bring us supplies and take away the trash and dirty dishes. The letter asked that we wear masks while in the hotel hallways, try to use the stairs, and avoid being in the elevator with other guests. (We typically took the stairs down, but took the elevator up to our floor). We were in room 7432 on the fourth floor, which would be considered the fifth floor in the United States. The hotel staff gave us truly great service. Whenever we called the front desk to ask for room service or drinks from the bar, someone delivered the requested items shortly. When we called to ask for towels, clean sheets, or more Kleenex, the supplies arrived quickly. Frequently a maid knocked on our door and asked if we needed any supplies. They were so helpful. The head of housekeeping periodically checked to see if we needed anything. Colm's letter informed us that we were allowed to take walks outside, and did not need to spend all our time in the hotel room. We were overjoyed to get this news, because the hotel is in a lovely walkable part of town. Colin, an assistant manager, suggested that we take walks in Merrion Park, a lovely city park a block away. We took several walks there, and enjoyed the beautiful flower beds, statues and park benches. We especially liked taking walks in beautiful St. Stephens Green. Several times Colin offered to help us in any way we needed. We recommend CityTest as a great Covid testing facility. It allows walk-in testing 7 days a week and will allow you to test there even if you are still self-testing positive. It is an 11 minute walk from the hotel. When we visit Ireland again, we will stay here.

Yelp
Short version: One of the worst hotel experiences I've had in a long time. Parking situation is terrible, rooms are too cold, breakfast was gross. Long version: My companion and I arrived at the hotel at about dinnertime on what apparently was a busy Saturday evening. We pulled up and there was no valet. My companion went in to ask about parking, and the desk clerk said there parking was full, and the only alternative they could offer was a parking garage that was nearly a mile away. After a harrowing 30-minutes, we finally found street parking a few blocks away and dragged out luggage back to the hotel. I had paid for an upgraded room, but upon checking in, the room was freezing. We tried to turn up the thermostat, but no luck; it would keep defaulting back to 22 Celsius, though the room felt far colder. When we called the front desk, they said we had to keep turning the thermostat back on every hour and it'll eventually heat the room. So I asked, "Do we have to get up ever hour during the night to get the room to be warm?" It made no sense. Finally we asked for extra blankets, and the staff member who brought them to our room said the heat was restricted in the hotel because of some "Green Key" environmental accord. I've been in plenty of hotels in the UK and never heard that one. To make up for the inconvenience, the hotel comped us free breakfast, but frankly the buffet was so bad, they should've paid us to eat there. Hardly anything was edible: the eggs were so runny they barely looked cooked, the fruit smoothies looked like they'd been out for days. I could barely even find a clean plate to use -- most of the stack was still dirty from insufficient washing. In summary, there are many better hotels in Dublin than this one. Don't stay here.

Yelp
Overall, the Davenport is absolutely stunning and the location is great. However, for the price point I expected a bit more. I was not a big fan of the 3 PM check in, and the sinks had two seperate faucets one for cold water and one for hot water. So your hands were either burning or freezing. Also, the water temperature downstairs was way too cold and the WiFi was very slow (you can pay money to upgrade the speed), but what's the point of offering free WiFi if you can't really use it? Alright, so what did I like? The front desk will let you leave your suitcase at the front desk before check-in. The lobby bar makes the best hot chocolate, and the staff was fun to talk to. I absolutely loved the BeeKind shower gel & shampoo, and I appreciate the fact that it's organic. Cleaning staff was also very friendly and always provided extra towels and tea, and the room was very clean. Bring your own lotion as they did not provide any. The hotel is down the street from alot of bars/shopping areas and there are alot of nearby bus stops that go directly to and from the airport. I recommend Air Coach which is literally a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the bus stop. The bus stop that goes back to the airport is right across the Starbucks (Gallows Street) and is 8.50 Euro one-way or 14 Euro roundtrip. The National Art Gallery of Ireland is also down the street, which was a major plus Would I stay at the hotel again? Maybe. I guess it depends on the WiFi situation.

Yelp
What a pleasant hotel in the heart of Dublin City. I liked the look of the building, inside & out, the old style architecture gives this hotel the regal feel. My room was decent sized & came with the amenities I need. In fact, it's relatively large compared to other hotels I've stayed in in the EU. I slept well in the large comfortable king sized bed. The decor was tasteful and everything worked. I wish the fitness center was better equipped. It has a couple of cardio machines and a rack of dumbells. That's all. The dumbells aren't even a complete set. Argh...oh well, can't win them all I suppose.

Yelp
Just an average stay at an average hotel in Dublin. Although on a higher floor, and away from the bars, it was SO loud outside with our windows closed. The bed was very uncomfortable, very springy. The continental breakfast was not very good. Would definitely choose one of the better options if I were to ever return to Dublin. Would not return to the Davenport.

Yelp
It's the only hotel that we stayed at in Dublin, but I don't see any way you could do better. The front desk was AWESOME! They helped me out so much with stuff that I needed, I cannot praise them enough; and all with the best attitude you can imagine. The room was spacious, clean, and well appointed. Breakfast, though served buffet style, was delicious, with plenty of variety. And the location, tucked behind Trinity College, next to Merrion Square, is as good as it gets.

Yelp
This hotel is lovely old school. You know the type of irish hotel bar: flowery carpet, dark wood, basically it's as if you have stepped back into the 70s. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I personally quite like it. The sun was shining through the window, which helped, otherwise I'd say the bar would be quite gloomy and depressing looking. We were booked in for an afternoon tea (normally priced at 25€, but we got it on the cheap through some dealpage). The selection of sambo's and cakes and desserts was great, lots of variety and most of it tasted lovely (although the sandwiches had gone a bit dry, they had obviously been prepped in advance) I had forgotten to mention beforehand that my friend has a nut allergy, but it was no problem at all, and they replaced everything she couldn't have with other options. (I was slightly envious of her strawberries dipped in chocolate!!!) A very relaxing way to spend a sunday afternoon!

Yelp
Nice hotel.  Near Merion square and in a quiet part of town.  Easy walking to most things.  Old world charm.  Rooms are small, but comfortable.  Bathroom layout does not have enough counter space - awkward layout.  Has a heated mirror - no fog mirror. Very clean.  Breakfast and WiFi were included with my room.  Food is pretty basic, but staff is very helpful. Laundry service is expensive, but same day if picked up before 8am. Was able to easily get a taxi from the hotel in the morning.  Reasonable price compared with other hotels in the area.

Yelp
Just spent a week at The Davenport Hotel. While the rooms are spacious there is ver little storage, virtually no drawers and limited hangers as they are built into the closet/armoire. The rooms are also very dark and do not have enough lights. Out of everything the worst possible thing happened on my last day. At 6am in the morning a member of the staff entered the room and turned on the light while I was sleeping and then left without explanation. It not only woke me from sleeping but was scary to say the least. When I went downstairs to ask what was going on the front desk staff said they had come to check the room because they thought was checking out and made a mistake. It was a horrible explanation and obvious error but was not explained or rectified in any way. When I checked out later that morning the manager told me that they mixed up the room number and meant to check a different room and apologized. It still seemed without any care or regard and made me question the safety and security of the hotel, the competency of the staff and the lack of understanding for guest service.

Yelp
3rd best hotel in Dublin (Shelbourne & Westbury?). Old charm feel, perfect location behind trinity college. Staff professional, buffet breakfast included. Rooms comfortable.

Yelp
Didn't stay but went for dinner on Saturday night - beautiful exterior and great location between Trinity and Merrion Square but... We had booked the restaurant and were moved to the bar on arrival. Not quite as comfortable but not crowded or too noisy to talk thankfully. The waitresses were friendly and helpful but their grasp of English was poor and this didn't help when they struggled to explain that some of the food and drink on the limited menu wasn't available. The food was fine and reasonably priced and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Not quite what I had expected but it is a great location, with easy parking on the Square, and none of the crowding that you might expect in Dublin on a Saturday night in August so I'll stick with 4 stars.

Yelp
This is a fine, friendly hotel located in the centre of the city. The rooms are satisfactory. The staff are friendly. Probably not the best if your looking for a more modern vibe and I would say you'd be disappointed if you were in the market for old school elegance. It's an overall underwhelmer but there's not a huge amount to fault. Overall the hotel is grand just not gonna be that exciting

Yelp
There are three things that must be part of any hotel: Comfort, location, and cleanliness. This location is very comfortable. Due to a delay in my air travel, and my internal clock being misaligned, I was able to sleep for 20 hours straight after arrival. The bed was just right, the curtains closed all the way to shut out the light, and the noise levels were very low. In addition to the comfort, I had breakfast here each day and found it both delicious and filling for my adventures. Ideally situated near the tour bus line, I found that anywhere I needed to go was a few block walk, or near the bus line. This was my first trip to Dublin and I found access very easy, and the staff both helpful and friendly. Cleanliness is a biggie for me. This location was clean and I had no worries about the room. In addition there was a "US" outlet as well as other options. O Callaghan Davenport Hotel is a good and solid choice for American travel.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our honeymoon. We received a complimentary upgrade to what they said was a Junior Suite, but we weren't sure what made it any different from a "regular" king bed room. The room was comfortable and quiet, though not nearly as spacious as the hotel website describes - though this is to be expected from any hotel in a major urban center. Bed was comfortable, but bathroom could have benefited from an update. The hotel itself is not in the heart of things, but it's a quick bus/taxi trip away. (Or you can walk if you're ambitious - the husband and I walked to the Guinness distillery from the hotel so it's doable.) The tourist buses also stop just across the street from the hotel entrance. The Full Irish Breakfast is decent - pretty standard for what we encountered during our tour of Ireland. The juice/water cups are annoyingly small, but this too was a common theme at other hotels. Overall - I'd say the hotel was a tad expensive for what it offered, but not a terrible stay by any means. We'd happily stay again.

Yelp
Great stay, hotel staff very attentive and helpful! Beautiful hotel, the room was large showers were great and the workout facility has lots of weights and cardio equipment. Excellent Irish breakfast buffet. Very clean and recently remodeled hotel. Highly recommend staying here!

Yelp
Nice hotel in a beautiful old building just off Merrion Square. The room was spacious, but as another reviewer said, just a bit tired and it was also really dark inside (I apparently like the lights to be blazing). However, even though we had a room facing the street, it was nice and quiet. The bathroom didn't have a lot of counter space, but did have plenty of shelf room for our toiletries, and the shower pressure was fantastic - no complaints there! The bed was large and comfortable (although the king size bed was in fact two beds strapped together, which is very common in European hotels, so we had to avoid the line down the middle), and the room itself was nice and clean. The safe had been locked by a previous guest, so we weren't able to use it, but that wasn't a big deal. They do offer an Irish breakfast buffet with all of the typical options and some extras, such as fresh fruit and cheese, as well as tea and coffee. Apparently you can also order something from the kitchen that isn't part of the buffet, as we heard a couple ordering egg white omelets and Americanos from the staff, but the buffet itself was plentiful and kept well stocked, even when it was nearing the end of breakfast time. There is also a resident's bar on site, but we didn't end up using it, and free Wi-Fi. The staff that we came into contact with were all friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel certainly can't be beat - it's a quick walk into the city center, and there are plenty of nearby restaurants, shops, and pubs, as well as the previously mentioned Merrion Square park. I would definitely stay in the Davenport hotel again the next time we're in Dublin, and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, reasonably priced Dublin hotel in a good location.

Yelp
My husband and I are from Pittsburgh, PA (USA). We decided to spend our vacation in Ireland. We were based out of Dublin for the entire week and we received a very good package deal with this hotel. This is a wonderful hotel to stay in, particularly if you are going to be here for several days. The building itself looks quite imposing from the outside. It reminds me of an old theater or something like that. We had the Junior Suite, which suited our needs perfectly. It included air-conditioning, a flat screen 23" LCD TV (which got the local and international channels), ironing board, hairdryer, safe, and a surprise--US and European sockets. The hotel itself included some good restaurants on site and a full work out room. The employees here were all very helpful and the conceirge was great at recommending restaurants and theater tickets. I know it might be "charming" to stay at a small hotel when abroad. But not only do I like a full-service hotel (not necessarily 5-star) when I travel, but I'm a type-1 diabetic and my eating and sleeping must be regimented. So when I travel trans-Atlantic, my body clock and my blood sugars go haywire. Thus for the first day, I need to let my body get caught up. Relaxing in the hotel, using the work out room, and strolling the neighborhood is about the most I want to do.

Yelp
I really liked this hotel. It was a travel zoo deal so I got it at a great price. I arrived at the hotel at 10 am and was able to go to my room then which was awesome. The hotel is a little dated but I honestly found it cozy and charming. The breakfast included the traditional Irish breakfast components and then fruit, yogurt, pastries along with juice, tea or coffee. I liked the little pub onsite. It was more on the subdued side but perfect for one last beer before heading to the room. The staff in all areas of the hotel and restaurant/pub were very nice. A plus if you are coming from the US is that the outlets in the room don't need an adapter. I plan to stay there again the next time I go to Dublin.

Yelp
Our room was spacious and in a safe and convenient area. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to other people. The outside has a historic look that's stunning. Our room was updated and had a couch and another sitting area that was helpful. We got a free upgrade for our room with a lovely view. We loved this hotel and we would come back again. The location was close enough to walk to some delicious restaurants and points of interest like the EPIC Museum, Archeology Museum, traditional Irish pubs, The Marion Square, The Book of Kells, etc.

Yelp
Davenport is a great place to stay. The beds are comfy, the bathrooms are spacious and the price for the location is great. I was skeptical of booking at a place that seemed to good to be true, but I'm glad I did. My first trip to Ireland has been quite wonderful, and I'd be wrong if I didn't lend some of the credit to my stay here at the Davenport.

Yelp
Afternoon tea service only. $25 per person. I really want to give it one star. The tea was lovely & nice food presentation were the highlights. That's it. Food didn't taste fresh. Felt like it had been sitting in fridge for 3 days. Tiny scone was burned on bottom. Desserts were hard. I was brought tea at the beginning & waitress came out & described food items. I never saw anyone again for 1.25 hours. Tea became cold. No one offered fresh pot. I left 70% of the food on the tray. There were 6 servers & 7 tables of guest, but felt servers were extremely busy for some unknown reason. Saw 2 other tables return their trays of food. Also, reservations should be taken at the front of the restaurant as well as checking in not at the bar. Felt like I was at a pub verses elegant hotel.
google avatar

Rebecca L.

Yelp
When we first arrived there was a bit of a mix up with our room that the staff fixed as fast as they could. Our room was rather spacious. The food was good, but make sure you get down early out much of it will be gone.

Yelp
Terrible service. Wifi was non existent. Unhelpful staff. Truly a miserable experience. One star is generous.

Yelp
My friend and I arrived in Dublin early in the morning, and the staff at the O'Callaghan Davenport were nice enough to let us check in well before the designated time and they gave us idiot-proof directions to (and into) their parking garage (which is maybe a block or so away, and requires a code to enter). Our two-day stay was very pleasant: the hotel's location was convenient, the breakfast was pretty good (though I burned out on sausage and blood pudding almost immediately), the room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and I really liked the fact that the room had an American outlet.

Yelp
This hotel is a gem! It is an old convent, converted to a very modern hotel with huge rooms! Ultra modern bathroom with rain shower head, and nice line of shampoo, body wash and lotion. (You can tell I'm a woman because of the attention to detail.) There is a coffee bar and mini fridge in the room. Most importantly, you are within walking distance to so many things: restaurants, small grocery store, shopping, museums and Trinity College are all in close proximity. The front desk staff was helpful when asked for suggestions, and even lent my husband an adaptor for his work computer! Book it- you won't be sorry!

Yelp
Went here for an open day of the 'Positive Success Group', Coaching diploma, which was held in the Boardroom. couldn't find the room at first, so had a quick impression of the place. The facade of this place is just amazing, really nice! And inside I wasn't disappointed either, as the scene is really chic I can say. Can't wait to stay overnight here, if only I wasn't living in Dublin already. Although.... You never know...

Yelp
Great location, but a little tired. Then again you don't come to Dublin to hang out in your room!

Good spot I would stay again especially after my experience at the new mark in Kilkenny. This hotel is in the middle of it all and the Continental breakfast was edible which is rare as far as those go.

Yelp
Was in a tour group in Ireland and this hotel was a problem... toilet in room did not work. Reported it to the reception desk in the afternoon and told them we'd not be in the room since we were heading out to an event and to just let themselves in to handle the repair. The receptionist said 'ok'. Returned to the room at 11pm to find toilet broken still and no sign of any attempt to repair. Phoned the front desk and she said nothing could be done since maintenance had gone home. Apparently their scheduled end of work day is 4pm and my earlier call was at 5:45pm. I asked why I wasn't told that when I phoned earlier since at that point maintenance had already gone home. She said she was not informed of the problem. That doesn't answer the question. She said I could wait till morning or get a new room. I said I wanted a new room. She said "Is that ok?". Not clear why the question. She said I had to come down to get a key. I and my roommate went down for the key. My roommate asked why this was not handled when we first reported it and the receptionist repeated that she was not aware of it and was dismissive in attitude. No apology. The receptionist offered to have someone help transfer our bags and I asked if that could be done immediately else we would do it ourselves. It was late and we were tired and did not want to have to wait for some unspecified time. She said just a few minutes. She phoned to someone in the back and did not request any kind of urgency. I saw that her nonchalant attitude was continuing to be evident. I told her we would take a cart and start to do the the transfer ourselves and to send up the help as soon as they are available. We never saw any help. We moved 6 bags and changed to a room 3 floors up. A pain to shuffle the heavy cart through double swinging doors. No apology. No help. My expectation was that they would have dispatched someone immediately with a new room key and a luggage cart to move our stuff, not that we had to go get the key and move ourselves. Breakfast was also a disappointment. Food is clearly of the canned and supermarket bulk food quality. Canned fruit. Papery fluffy bread with no taste. Sausage tasteless and of the bulk frozen variety. Pastries tasteless. Scones small, dry and tasteless. Scrambled eggs in bulk, clearly poured out of a carton. Coffee bitter, weak and lacking in any semblance of rich coffee flavor. I do not recommend.

Yelp
Our first of many stays in Ireland hotel's for our two week holiday. It was a great stay, however, I wouldn't say 5 stars. The staff made the hotel. Very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We went directly to the hotel from Dublin airport after a horrible 6 hours flight from the states. I had very bad jetlag and was praying our room would be open. Lucky enough, the receptionist gladly welcomed us right in and situated us in a room. It was extremely helpful. The bed and pillows were somewhat uncomfortable, but the duvet comforter was luxurious. Food was not the best in Ireland, however, the hotel was situated in a perfect spot in the city surrounded by excellent pubs. Overall, I would stay here again but preferred the country side of Ireland above all.

Yelp
The O Callaghan Davenport Hotel has a very comfortable atmosphere. The bathroom was large with lots of shelf space for bath articles, a great lighted makeup mirror, good water pressure, and it was very clean. I found the beds very comfortable to sleep in. The room had a wonderful view outside the window too. Theres many tourist attractions a walk away from the hotel such as, Christ Church, St. Stephens Green etc. While I was staying there, breakfast was included with the room rate, I would say the breakfast was ok, it wasn't that nice, very dry. I would also have to say the internet access was very slow indeed, it could a long time for the site pages to load up. The hotel itself had a very elegant feel. All in all it was a pleasant stay, and I wouldn't mind staying in this hotel again.

Yelp
Hotel very dated. Breakfast not worth it. Ask for room with view as our room overlooked lobby.

Yelp
Stayed at the Davenport in Dec. 2012 and had an excellent stay. Outside facade of building very impressive and the lobby area very warm and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was fairly large and decor was very nice and well kept. Did not dine at the restaurant so can't comment on it. My only negative thought was that the wi fi was not free. But overall I would highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Not a 4-star hotel as our tour co. Stated. Older Hotel that has not been updated. Furniture in room is old and chipped up. Bathroom shower head is falling apart. Thank god we are only here one night. Would not stay again.
