We were told about The Dead Fish by someone at another restaurant and decided to make the 18 mile drive from Walnut Creek on a work trip and we were all very happy with the decision! The atmosphere, the view, the service, and the food were all amazing! The price may initially give you a shock but the amount and quality of food you receive is definitely worth it!

Visited The Dead Fish in Crockett with my family — they’re big seafood lovers (unlike me), so this spot was perfect for them! I ordered the garlic noodles with chicken. They were good, but not the best I’ve ever had. That said, their bread and calamari were both absolutely top-notch, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Everyone was super attentive and kind. I don’t eat seafood, so I can’t speak on that side of the menu, but my family loves this place and always looks forward to it. Heads up — it’s definitely on the pricier side. My husband ordered a steak, and it was $50 for just the steak, potatoes, and some spinach. We couldn’t help but compare it to a Brazilian steakhouse where it’s $80 for all-you-can-eat! 😅 Still, the view is beautiful, the ambiance is great for special occasions, and the desserts were delicious. Worth a visit if you’re treating yourself or celebrating with seafood lovers!

Great seating at any corner of the place, but we especially love the patio. Our server was really cool, everyone was friendly. Definitely a wonderful place to dine for special occasions.

This is one of our go to places that is near to my parents in Rodeo. A staple in contra costa county that has been providing fresh seafood and wonderful meals for decades. I recently took my parents here for their 60th wedding anniversary. Our meals were wonderful. The service was exceptional. And drinks were delicious! Highly recommend!

The Dead Fish in Crockett is a great spot for a casual seafood meal with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The interior feels warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing dinner. Awesome views over the Crockett Bridge from the patio. Their seafood selection is impressive, and the Dungeness crab is a standout—perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The service is fun and friendly, adding a personal touch that makes the experience even better. To top it off, the prices for alcohol are outstanding - hard to beat for the quality and variety they offer. Oh, and by the way, there is no corkage fee! While everything was enjoyable, there’s a little room for improvement in some areas, but overall, it’s a fantastic place to visit. I’ll definitely be back!

The food is delicious here. Gluten free choices on the menu. Hospitality was amazing! We also had some crab, clam chowder, and a wedge salad 👏

We went to The Dead Fish for a special brunch and it totally delivered. Sat outside with a beautiful view of the water—super calm, super clear—and the staff made sure the heaters were on so we could actually enjoy it without freezing. We shared the cioppino, our friends got the seafood platter, and we added garlic bread to the table. Everything was solid—super fresh, well-seasoned, no frills but done really well. Portions are big, so splitting one dish between two people is the way to go. The vibe was relaxed but still felt like a treat—perfect for a low-key celebration or just a good weekend brunch spot with a view. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
A hidden gem. A must for locals or Bay Area folks returning from Napa! ...I'm not sure where negative reviews are coming from. The black seafood pasta took the prize. A healthy portion size, (nearly $40) the seafood serving on top was generous. The branzino was cooked was cooked perfectly, with a generous portion and tasty sides on the skilllet. We opted for house bread, it came out warm with whipped butter to accompany. The service was swift. We could not believe how quickly our food came out. It may be the difference between dining here on a Monday vs. Saturday night ....Honestly, what does one expect of a restaurant with 4000 reviews to be like on a Saturday night? Quite possibly the only thing negative I could say about this place was the espresso martini being so so, but my Mojito was fantastic. I would 100% come back to dine here I would 100% recommend to friends and family

Yelp
Right off the Carquinez bridge ! Such a nice restaurant. We made the mistake trying to go in through the pink shiny door lol (wrong door) but finally made it in and were seated right away . It gave The Stinking Rose Vibes and sure enough both restaurants have the same owners. It wasn't super busy when we came so when the drink order was place they came out right as our waitress left the table, everything came out at a timely manner which was appreciated . The strawberry lemonade was really good. Usually they taste artificial at some restaurants but not here. Just about everything we ordered was devoured when it reached our table. So I was a little sad we didn't really have leftovers to take home. We used the 2 butters that came with the shrimp and crab for everything ! they were soooooo good. The only flop that wasn't for me was the mashed potatoes. Can't speak on the creamed spinach because I didn't have a chance to try it. But we are definitely coming back .

Yelp
Dead Fish was busy as usual but we had a reservation thankfully. We were seated right away in a cozy booth. Our server was quick to take our order and she was very friendly. My only issue was that I asked about the beet salad as an entree and I should have been better informed what I was going to get. The salad was a pile of marinated beets with a slice of avocado and some marinated onions. It was not very good and would be better as a side salad. I wish I was advised to maybe get something else. Everyone else had great food. The other entrees were a burger which was huge and very well prepared. Sea bass with lemon caper sauce was another choice we made which was also very good. When I made the reservation I put down it was a birthday and they came out the end with piece of cake and a candelabra. Overall it was a good restaurant to visit. The views are amazing of the bay.

Yelp
The most flavorful crab I've ever had! (Aside from my dads, cooked at home of course, lol) I thought The Dead Fish was delish! Everything was packed with flavor. The views are nice (especially on a day like the one I went on, sunny!) and the restaurant vibes are unique. I love the menu, it has offers unique names for their dishes. It kinda gave me Tim Burton vibes. Service was good and quick. Prices are reasonable too. Parking seems to be a bit limited though, so keep that in mind. I'll be adding this place to my top to go places!

Yelp
May 14 2025 3PM 3.5 stars down from 4.0 due to esthetics. Song for Management: One of these things (photos) is not like the others, One of these things (photos) just doesn't belong, Can you tell which thing (photo) is not like the others By the time I finish my song? Note for Management: Today was the first visit that I did not see security monitoring the parking lots. My review: We live close by and stop in about once a year. Though expensive for my wallet, the food is always not bad and is often good.. the portion sizes are pleasant. Today as usual, my wife's and I shared a Dead Fish Stew (Cioppino) and fried calamari. The squid and shrimp were pretty tough chewing in the stew but overall the meal tasted ok. We asked for some bread to munch on while we waited for our meal. Maybe it was being baked or maybe the restaurant staff couldn't keep up with the other geriatric diners. All I know is the bread took its sweet time getting to our table. The beer selection is rather bland if you are craft brew drinker, so I stuck with water. They do serve beer on tap by the liter which I enjoy when I do have beer there. If you get to Crockett you should go and give Dead Fish a try. It is a highlight of Crockett due to the good service and awesome view.

Yelp
Just to go straight into it, I ordered the branzino with the garlic lemon caper sauce. It came with couscous and some roasted veggies. I read a lot of reviews saying the fish was dry, but that wasn't the case for me. I thought this dish was pretty good, although $34 for this plate and you can get the Mediterranean branzino at California fish grill for $15-17 (which to compare tastes better imo). I just think it was kind of pricey for what it is and needed more vegetables. But for me the fish it self was pretty moist, I didn't get much lemon flavor until I squeezed and smeared the lemon on the plate more on it. Lowkey, I felt like I was walking into a senior center. LOL. Nothing wrong with it! I guess that just goes to show that they provide very nice and patient service which I felt we were given. Seems like a good place for groups and families as they have a lot of large seating booths. There's 2 parking lots and both were very full on an Easter Sunday.

Yelp
Had a taste for prime rib and didn't want to drive to the city. The cut was a good portion with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The sizzling skillet of mussels and shrimp were also delicious. Service was good! He was very attentive. The view is and will always be spectacular!!!

Yelp
Came on a date for two without reservations and was seated indoors. It was nice to look out the window and have a view but be cozy in a rounded booth. Our server was great, she was easy to ask questions about her recommendations and she was honest when it was something she hadn't tried yet and I appreciated that. The food was very good! Seasoned well, not overly done and cook time and service were all good and we enjoyed the meal without waiting too long. Ribeye was prepared the way we liked and cream spinach wasn't too creamy. The crab portion on the lasagna was good and I really enjoyed that meal. Overall a better experience to come on a weeknight as a dinner for two.

Yelp
I've been here so many times, I just remembered I need to do a review!!!! My favorites from past visits- The Dead Fish Cioppino Stew!!! Crabwich, Crab Angel Hair Lasagna, Seafood Black Linguini!! This visit, I did the Sizzling Iron Skillet Combo! It has Mussels, Shrimp, and Crab!!! Delish!! It came with two sauces, one butter (can't go wrong), and the other tasted like a Cioppino in a cup!! So good!! Hubby and I shared a dozen oysters, it comes with lemon and vinegar/onion sauce to add with Tabasco!! Highly recommend these dishes!! We also shared the Cowboy Ribeye Steak- Medium Rare- it was cooked to perfection!! Perfect time was at lunch when they opened, usually the tables are filled and you have to wait for a seat. Weekends you should do a reservation! We sat in the main dining area, but next time we will try the bar area, looked more cozier. The view was amazing as always! We will be back!

Yelp
Food is good but came out cold, had to send it back. Service - was told that the restaurant kitchen was extremely busy although we had our own server, I had a table of 10 guest. The Ambiance was overlooking Bay and Carquinez Bridge. Very tranquil.

Yelp
My in laws took me here for my bday and I had such an amazing time. From the service our reservations was right on the dot. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. It was great to see there was some regulars that knew the servers. It's great to know the vibes of the restaurant was very family oriented. From the bread to my ciopinno was A+ the bread was so soft and fresh. The cioppino was so tasty so fresh. It had clams, mussels, crab clusters it has the perfect amount of spice. My husband had the crab and shrimp skillet and it came in on a cast iron skillet sizzling with 2 different types of butter. Definitely will be heading back soon and the view! The bridge and the water priceless

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant and was quite disappointed. The service is below average. Our waiter came over to check on us a couple of time, never purred us wine even though our glasses were empty. Instead of a dozen of oysters we got 10, so count your oysters. LOL. Instead of the fish I got half of it which was maybe 5 inch long, overcooked, for $40 with burned vegetables. The restaurant itself is cute but has this old moldy building smell. Loud. And the view is onto a pretty ugly bridge. Apparently this restaurant has a reputation for being a popular first date spot. Don't!

Yelp
I have been looking forward to this experience for a very long time. So I was delighted to be going for Mother's Day! We made a reservation a month before so it'd be easy and a relaxing Mother Day. Driving up we did a "are you seeing what I'm seeing? moment as there were cars parked up and around the hill, across the street and all around the restaurant with people crossing the street then when we turned into the driveway, the line! The line was past the front door all the way up the parking lot at least 20 people. And that line was still that way when we left at 7. It did not matter if you had a reservation because all the people in line had a reservation. You just had to stand in that line to check in for your reservation. It was just awful as you did the line then when you were relieved to get to the reception desk, you weren't greeted. You waited as they did their organizing then they looked up to ask for your name. Once checked in they said it'd be another 30 min but maybe leas since we said first available. Insult to injury was getting your name called with a condition. Would we take a booth for the 3 of us with the possibility of sharing with 3 others. We gambled and said yes. At that booth, we didn't know what to say because 3 more people joining would have been tight especially if you don't know them. That was really tacky. We lucked out as no one joined us. But it's not like we had a nice view either. Kinda lost the excitement being there. I would say very wrong day to go. Do not go for a holiday. We had the bruschetta, garlic noodles and sea bass. The food given all the hype did not meet it. The bruschetta was bruschetta. Same with the garlic noodles. The sea bass was a nice portion but just tastes like it was cooked in butter; lacking the garlic and other flavors. Our server was great. Attentive and got it all dialed in for us. He was the best part. I would have to try this place on a day where it is not a holiday.

Yelp
I finally had the opportunity to visit The Dead Fish. My family and I had a lunch with a beautiful view day after Thanksgiving. The history behind this restaurant is cool and it's been around for a while so be sure to bookmark this one if you're looking for good seafood and prime rib. For my first visit, I opted to try the Cowboy Ribeye which was cooked to perfection in a tasty garlic butter sauce. This steak was paired with cream of spinach and a creamy mash. I will be sure to revisit TDF for their prime rib!

Yelp
My parents brought us here for my wife's birthday, and it was fantastic! The portions were great, the seafood tasted fresh and well seasoned. The service was fast, and food came out hot. There's a lot of shareable items, and you can mix and match the seafood. Prices are worth it! For starters we went with clam chowder, calamari, and the bread. First time we've been charged for bread, but I can't blame you cause it's made fresh in house and this economy sucks. Clam chowder was good, and dipping the bread in it was even better. The calamari came out fast and hot. Very fresh tasting and crispy! Next we got double shrimp and crab skillet combo. It comes out sizzling on a hot skillet like fajitas. It comes with their seasoned butter and regular butter for dipping. The shrimp were a little small but the Dungeness crab was a great size, and so fresh! The cioppino was probably the best I've ever had but also I've only tried it a handful of times at different restaurants. The prime rib was ok, nothing special. The mash potatoes are mashed with zucchini, which I wasn't a big fan of. My kid got the garlic noodles with Dungeness crab. I thought there would be more crab in it than what we paid for, and I think they missed on the garlic part of the noodles. It was still good though. We skipped out on desert, nothing seemed to catch our eyes. Overall, 4 stars, we will be back to catch the views when the sun is out.

Yelp
!!!! Amazing views !!!! We were wanting to try this place for couple of years but somehow it never happened... thanks to our friends who suggested so we finally did it.... We chose to dine outside since we had a 2 yr old with us...so happy we chose outside seating can't beat the view... hands down best view of the bridge & sunset. Our friends baby boy just was so excited to see all the ships passing by.. had a fantastic time. We ordered- Calamari with onions & sweet peppers - large Double Shrimp & Whole Crab Filet Mignon - 2 orders with mashed potato & creamed spinach. Crabby Mood Martini - vodka, peach schnapps, orange & cranberry juice. Old fashioned- 2 Shirley temple -1 We enjoyed everything along with their bread basket. We had the best view & enjoyed our time with our friends. Their bar seating is also nice we would love to sit inside next time... loved their decor.

Yelp
Never been here before. The restaurant is unique and very cool with the decor. Love the hanging cars and motorcycles on the ceiling. Beautiful view of the water. The service was great. Our server was attentive. The food and drinks came out quickly. I ordered the carb melts and he had the pesto pasta. Mines was pretty good, I wish it had more flavor like sauce or butter? The bathroom was nice and clean. Overall enjoyed celebrating our 2 year anniversary here. It was a first time experience for both of us.

Yelp
The ambiance is pleasant, peaceful and has a view the Carquonez Bridge. The food was wonderful with good size portions. The server was attentive, friendly and provided good service. Parking is available. Check this delightful gem, you won't regret it.

Yelp
Tonight, for the first time in a long time I had amazing service and food at the Dead Fish. When I asked for a glass of Cabernet, Erin didn't just ask me to pick one based on her experience or recommendation (as has been my past experience at the dead fish) she brought me two different ones to taste and let me pick. The bruschetta came out right away, it was warm and delicious. She asked if we wanted our salad with our crab or before, timing it all perfectly. The crab came out hot, followed within minutes with hot garlic butter (previous we have had to ask the server and wait a prolonged period of time, including asking for the server from other staff). Shazam came by the table and was so kinda and interested in ensuring we had the best experience! I can't say enough about Erin and Shazam! They made my evening lovely after a difficult work day.

Yelp
Highly recommend The Dead Fish if you are craving some delicious, fresh, well marinated crab and shrimp. I had the double shrimp and crab platter. Although the name was a bit deceiving, I thought I was also ordering double crab but only the shrimp is double, I was not disappointed. It was delicious!! They paired it with two sides of butter, one spicy and one citrus. The view is an added plus. Right next to the water and the carquinez bridge! The service was okay. Our waitress only checked on us once. It was quite busy so I understood.

Yelp
So let me start by saying that we have been huge fans of the Dead Fish for years and years! This past Sunday really was such a disappointment! We had a reservation for 7pm and showed up about 20 minutes early as it was Father's Day. I checked in and was told 20-25 minutes wait. After many requests for status we were told that its common practice for them to double book reservation times. We were finally seated at 8:00pm As we are all super hungry at this point we immediately ordered drinks, bread and butter and the large mussels. Drinks showed up promptly. Mussels showed up after a long wait and the tray seemed to have less mussels than we normally see on the half order. The tray wasn't overly hot like usual and didn't even sizzle when the server dumped the liquid on it. In fact the ones on the edge were verging on cool. We had to start eating the mussels with our hands as we were never given silverware. After getting up to find someone to bring us silverware it arrived several minutes later. Napkins didn't come until two more requests. The bread never arrived and after being told its coming, its coming we then told over an hour later the they were now out of bread. The rest of the food finally came and was tasty as usual but couldn't make up for the disappointments prior. The dinner in total took 3 hours and caused for an un planned late night for us all!

Yelp
Cioppino is the best with a newly baked French bread! Service was great too. They were attentive with how much you like your food. When we said that the calamari was a little overcooked, they quickly replaced it with a new one! The place is really perfect for a date and or a celebration with family and friends. Ambiance was beautiful with the view of the sunset and the bay.

Yelp
Man oh man, what happened to this place. I left the Bay Area 10 years ago and bragged about this place being the gold standard for crab. When I moved back I was so excited to be able to go back, boy was I in for a surprise. I had heard it fell off in the food but really how bad could it be? So much worse than I expected. The crab came out on a skillet, as said they it would, but sizzling? I think we may have different ideas of what that means. The food had no flavor, was barely warm. The best part of the crab used to be the cartilage and the butter and garlic cooked in there, not any more. I had like 2 bites and it was awful. The couple who happened to be sitting next to me were talking about how bad their food was and how much they used to love the place. Clearly the bartender is used to people not liking their food because she didnt ask if anything was wrong even though I barely touched anything on the plate. No ask if anything was good, just the check. Man, what a disappointment

Komodo K.

Yelp
They're a long way away so I haven't been back there for many a year until just recently (July 2025). My overall impression: the way they prepare things ain't what it used to be. Now having read some of the other reviews, I just reckon somebody must have come along with a mind to go fixing things that ain't broke. I was rather expecting quality that I'd rate at four or five stars, but now after that recent visit all I can eke out is just two.

Yelp
I'm visiting this area and was informed this is "the only nice restaurant in Crocket." I didn't have any expectation. I was just happy we're having seafood! Our group sat at the backyard patio for the view since this is my first time at The Dead Fish. Our table was slanted and I had to make sure my plate and water are not sliding off the table. I'd love to sit inside the next time I visit. I saw other dining rooms with big couches and that's more of my vibe. Here's what I ordered for the table: Oysters, 6 Calamari, large Epi bread Steamed clams Fishwich Epi crab sandwich Crabwich with fries Sea bass Epi breads came with butter. I asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar instead. Steamed clams came with more epi bread and I had to take that home. I enjoyed the flavor of steamed clams. I had left over soup and took that home also. Calamari was flakey and I'm glad I ordered the large portion for the table. I wasn't too hungry but next time I'd love to order skillet seafood options. Our appetizers came out quickly and we had to wait a while for our main courses to come out. Servers are friendly and helpful with all the requests we had. Parking lot available and it was easy to find a parking spot. I'll be back!

Yelp
Today's service was outstanding and food was delicious and the crab is even better than before! Our server went above and beyond. My kids both wanted prime rib so we decided to order one for them to split. We ordered the regular cut and opted for double fries instead of the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The prime rib was cooked a little more well done and we requested for medium. Our server sent it back and came back with some extra fries for the kids to snack on since everyone's food was already out. We haven't ordered crab over here in quite some time but decided to today and we were really happy we did! We noticed the sauce is a little different from what we were used to but in GOOD way! So much more flavorful and different from the usual garlic butter crab you would get anywhere else. Highly recommend the crab! We also had the soft shell crab sandwich for the first time and it was so yummy!!! We even asked if it's under new ownership but they just updated the menu with a few additional items! Our server brought out a complimentary slice of cake to go with our espresso which I thought was a really nice touch. Overall we were happy with the service, food, and ambiance. It was a beautiful Mother's Day lunch with the family!

Yelp
My family and I got to the restaurant around noon on Sunday and ordered a number of items all which were delicious. Garlic noodle with crab-yummy Three crab sliders-yummy- downside there was barely any crab at all. Fortunately the helpful stellar waittress got us a small side of crab to put in the sandwhiches. Deep fried artichoke-yummy Epi bread and butter-yummy-note this fresh yummy butter is whipped fresh and is delicious on the warm bread. Grilled shrimp with dipping butter- yummy but disappointed they left the shell on which took a messy few minutes to remove ourselves. The chocolate sundae was large fresh and delicious shared by the three of us as well as a slice of salted caramel vanilla crunch cake- yummy. Give this place a try you will be glad that you did . Bon appétit

Yelp
I came here yesterday from my birthday lunch/ early dinner. I have to say... I'm sad to report.... It's kind of gone downhill here. It just doesn't feel like you get your moneys worth here anymore.. The service was good and your food came up properly but in this day of wanting to get your moneys worth and everything being so expensive, I just don't know if I would come back here again sadly because this used to be my go to place to get the roasted crab! I used to love their roasted crab and don't get me wrong. It's not that it's wasn't good but I remember it being a lot tastier in days gone by . I got a decent portion of a half an order of the roasted crab for I believe it was $39 that not bad but kind of a letdown as I remember it used to be a lot tastier. We started off with oysters on a half shell and ordered a dozen which was about almost $50 but they were super small. My partner ordered crabcakes and he got these two little tiny medallions for almost $39.99ish. He also ordered the Crab Crustini which was just ok. We also ordered fried calamari which wasn't bad but the portion was a lot smaller for $15.99 for half an order and it was mostly fried onions. We used to get a much fuller order when we ordered Shrimp Cocktails too. It just seemed like everything was way too high in price for the portions you received. We walked out of there spending over $250 including drinks not including tip and we were still kind of hungry... During the daytime there was ample parking which was great, but I don't know that I would go out of my way to come back here again... And maybe I will have to find a new place for yummy crab? Just feeling like my visit was a huge let down for my birthday....

Yelp
Food-terrible. Streak req M well, not beef jerkey. Shrimp-rubbery. Sandwich-dry. Service, okay, very slow, but not that busy. Ambiance- is what you're paying for, definitely not the food!

Yelp
The Dead Fish is always amazing! The servers are normally friendly and the food is great! I also love the view. Combined it makes for an outstanding experience. Normally get the crab cakes and clam chowder!

Yelp
The Prime Rib Sandwich earns 5 stars, itself! The meat was cooked to perfection, with juices dripping down my fingers between each bite. The meat was tender, with a nice pink color and just the right amount of fatty pieces. They bake the bread in-house fresh daily, so imagine perfectly cooked thin slices of prime rib nestled inside soft, warm fluffy French bread? That's what you'll get here at the Dead Fish. Not sure what to order, order this sandwich!

The dead fish is apparently the happening place to celebrate birthdays. As we sat on the patio on a weekday night, there was no joke 6 birthdays. While they have a plethora of heaters on the patio they don't have enough fans to circulate the air on untypical warm evenings. They also could find useful those tabletop fly fans as we were constantly shooing Flys away. The food was all great and delicious. The only complaint our group had was that the shrimp were all tiny. While we didn't expect prawn sized we did at least expect bigger than basically popcorn size. We had a good variety of food between salads and crab feast, garlic noodles and shrimp and fries. Service was top notch. One server had the entire patio but she had a team behind her of busers, drink runners and food runners so nothing was ever slow. Sadly dessert was disappointing as the menu had the incorrect cheesecake of the day listed and pistachio cheesecake is just disgusting.

Yelp
Keep waiting for the old clam recipe to come back. Very disappointing to keep hearing that you haven't changed back yet. Lemon white wine and butter with some garlic is all it needs. The paprika is overkill. As always, the service was exceptional. We did enjoy our lunch.

Yelp
Even with a full house, the service was impressive. The server, busser, and entire team were so attentive and kind--helping us grab plates and offering clean utensils while the waiter was busy taking care of other tables. It truly felt like a one-man show for the waiter, and he handled it all wonderfully with the support of his team. Great teamwork and a great dining experience!

Yelp
I wasn't given much information before heading there with hubby, but being a seafood lover the name piqued my interest (and I can't eat a live one! Lol) The drive there was well worth it (about 30mins from our hotel in Concord). Parking is deceiving because depending which side of the street you come up on, it seems like you need to hunt for a spot, but there's actually an abundance of spaces, so it's worth driving up the "hill" (if you enter at the bottom) and checking out the full scene if it's not an overly busy time of day (we went around 5:30pm on a weekday). One half of the restaurant is much nicer than the other, nothing a little reno can't fix), so my husband found us a spot on the nicer side with a beautiful, bright view high above the water and surrounding area (find a seat on that side, the outside seating is glorious!) A little tidbit... they don't charge corking fees if you bring your own wine. And the food was served hot and quickly... large portions and was perfectly seasoned... delicious!!! Pros: - scenery/view - taste, portions & presentation of the food - good selection on the menu - lots of free parking - no corking fee Cons: - none

Yelp
Food: Garlic Bread: 5/5 Crispy, crunchy, garlicky, buttery goodness Bread with Butter: 4/5 Warm, fresh(?) bread Fluffy butter Tasty Soft shell crabwich with fries: 2/5 Texture of the fried crab was good but the bun was cold. The coleslaw didn't add much and there's an overall lack of flavor. Fries are under seasoned but fried well. Service: Friendly and attentive. Ambiance: hole in the wall fisherman port kitchen vibes but in a spacious area

Yelp
I won't go here again.. came here a day before Mother's Day as a Mother's Day outing with my mother and mother in law, big regret, service was horrible and food was a rip off.. I really don't see how they keep busy. I ordered the Philly sandwich it was edible yet not enjoyable, the fish and chips were okay. Rest of my party was not impressed. They were busy, as many restaurants in my life experience have been, we never got our sodas, when I ask the server she says "the bar is backed up" then after eating our meal and I ask for the bill she was nice enough to say she'll take the drinks that we NEVER received off the bill. Not to mention she looked miserable and was very unpleasant. Anyways I'm thirsty thanks... also I notice how miserable all the staff looked which sucks for them, and bringing the wrong items to wrong tables, happened 2 times to us... and the ambiance sucks here!

Yelp
We haven't been in the area for 15 years. Came back to the restaurant for Christmas Eve. The restaurant is still great! Great ambience, great service and great food.

Yelp
We had a delicious dinner! Great variety! Yummy drinks. It was a little noisy but it was busy! The waiter told me that we could bring in our wine and they don't charge a corkage fee! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Gorgeous shaded outdoor seating area with such a beautiful water view - I highly recommend a table outside during golden hour. All of the food our table ordered was excellent and their crab is seriously a 20 out of 10. All in all this place really exceeded my expectations, just a great place across the board.

Yelp
Second time here, and legit good seafood place. Most seating has at least some water view. This place is busy so be patient. First time we had a crab feast for 3, garlic noodles, and fish du jour. The vegetarian in our group was good with their pasta too. All good. Second time we went for brunch; no res but lucked out with timing (1-1:30) and got seated quickly. Had crab benedict & got the english muffin swapped out for their Acme bread (so good). Hollandaise is perfect, eggs well poached. Good drinks, nice tea selection, everything tasted fresh and nicely flavored. This is a birthday it spot; they have the candelabra ready & a free small chocolate cake. I want to go back again when it's warmer & sit in an outside booth.

Yelp
I enjoy The Dead Fish every time I go. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the beautiful view of the bridge. Food is good. Service is good. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the free corkage. I love bringing a bottle of wine every time I go.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite places to stop either going/coming from SF. The view is amazing and food is always fantastic! My favorite thing to get here is either roasted crab or Cioppino. My husband usually orders a prime rib or some meat option. Reservations are highly recommended since they get quite busy. Make sure you lock up your valuables as there have been break-ins in the parking lot!

Yelp
The Dead Fish has redeemed themselves with me. I live pretty close to this establishment and frequented fairly when I moved to that area but stopped when they had that whole viral video of the rodent infestation so this is my first time coming in about 2 years. But my sister love this place and comes every year for her birthday regardless and I joined her this year. So that the crab legs were good the muscles were good the shrimp were small but good that wine sauce, really good garlic dipping sauce was good. I really don't have any complaints. I have paid way more for a seafood platter at a like Asian fusion spot then this place so they're back on the map. I want to go for brunch. Oh, we had a great server!
