The Dean Galway (Galway City, County Galway) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A long-awaited sequel to the Dean in Dublin has opened its doors in Galway, and has promptly become this charming coastal town’s most stylish lodging. This one is riotously colorful, and while it’s sensibly a bit less luxe than its Dublin cousin, it’s full of thoughtful touches: not just Smeg fridges but Marshall sound systems, Nespresso machines, and, in the suites, Rega turntables and Martin acoustic guitars. Public spaces include a lobby café, a comfort-food joint called Elephant & Castle, and a rooftop restaurant and terrace, Sophie’s, that offers unparalleled views over Galway along with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks." - Tablet Hotels

Super happy we picked this hotel in Galway. The room we had was a nice size. Everything was clean and the bed comfortable. Location wise it was very good, and less than a 5 minute walk from Eyre Square. There is also a coffee bar and restaurant in the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

We mostly enjoyed our stay at the Dean. While the rooms are small, they are quite comfortable and well designed. Our rooms were also quiet during our stay during the week, despite having a window on the street. Appreciated that we were away from the center of town, and the walk to all the restaurants and shops was easy. We did not use the pool or sauna, but we liked havng a decent restaurant (Sophie's) upstairs for an early breakfast. We only had a couple hiccups/suggestions: Please keep a physical list of the cost of the food and drink items in the room. As others have noted, it appeared as if these items were complimentary, but after revewing the link at the QR code (and clicking though a number of places to find this info) we realized everything had a cost, even the water. For the price of the room please throw in a couple free waters. The other issue we had was with check in/parking. We were told by the young gentleman when we checked in that we could park for free in the lot directly next to the hotel since we were staying for four nights in two seperate rooms. However, when we inquired about the procedure the next day with the young lady at the desk, she told us that lot was only for loading and unloading and we could NOT park there. The parking lot she recommended was not complimentary, and required going up and dow a large hill every day. We were traveling with my older mother, and this was a bit of a challenge day after day. If you're going to offer free parking to a customer, please make sure you communicate this with all staff. It put a damper on an otherwise delightful stay.

My wife and I stayed one night mid week. It was amazing from start to finish. Really nicely presented hotel, friendly welcoming staff and excellent food. The room, while small was really nicely finished and very comfortable. We had both dinner and breakfast upstairs in Sophie's and I would highly recommend checking it out. Finally, the gym and outdoor pool is also excellent to use.

This hotel has everything you need to have a great Galway experience. The hotel is very modern and nice, and the staff is very welcoming. Only a couple minutes walk from the downtown Galway restaurants and bars, but far enough away to not be be bothered by the noise in crowds. Parking is a little bit of a challenge here and unless you are lucky to get one of the few spots out front, you have to walk several blocks to the parking garage.

I had such a wonderful stay at The Dean Galway and truly wish I could have stayed longer! From the moment I arrived, the staff at the front desk were incredibly kind and welcoming — their friendliness made all the difference and set the tone for a great visit. My room was spotless and stylish, with everything feeling fresh, clean, and thoughtfully designed. You can tell the hotel pays attention to the details, which made the stay all the more comfortable. Sophie’s, the rooftop restaurant, was another highlight — beautiful setting, great atmosphere, and delicious food. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring Galway. If you're looking for a modern, welcoming, and well-located place to stay in Galway, I can't recommend The Dean enough. I’ll definitely be back — next time for longer!

Our first visit was Galway and we stayed at the Dean. This was in a perfect location to walk to everything but also have quiet at night. The staff was great, and there is a beautiful rooftop bar. Both Galway and Cork Deans I would recommend staying at!

Rooms are very clean, bathroom is great size, bed area is good. Closets and bag area is very small and no place to put your clothes. No safe. Fridge costs is not too bad. The King bed is not a King and at times it would separate in the middle. If you are staying in the front of the hotel, you can hear the cars and people coming out of the hotel. Not a problem for us but maybe for some people who needs quiet. The blackout shades helps when you are trying to sleep at 10pm and it's still light out. Very close to the central bus station and Eyre Square. I did expect a little more because it claims it's a 4 star but that maybe just on my end. I did like the mini spa, i wish the weather cooperated more so we could have more time to enjoy it. Elephant and Castle was good, breakfast staff and food is great at Sophie's. Overall, i enjoyed Dean Galway and can recommend it.

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations, especially given the price charged. For a boutique hotel that boasts its experience and stay, I highly disagree. |The room was very small for the cost, making it uncomfortable and poor value for money. Stayed at the Galgamont last time we were in the city, it was half the price and had better rooms overall. |Noise was a constant issue, with no sense of peace or quiet. Each time another guest’s door in the hallway closed, my own door rattled loudly, which was extremely disruptive. The walls were not soundproof. I clearly hear other guests in their bathroom next door. I could hear the guest conversations clearly in the hall and in the rooms next door. |Cleanliness standards were below what I expected, which added to the overall discomfort of the stay. The doors in the bathroom had smudge marks on the from previous guests. |The bathroom design was also problematic. The sliding barn-style door provided no sound protection or privacy, which was both inconvenient and uncomfortable. Our bathroom toilet kept running too. |Overall, the combination of noise, lack of peace, poor cleanliness, limited privacy, and the small size of the room made the stay very disappointing
