The Dearly Koh Tao Hostel - Five Star Dive Resort

I had a fantastic time at this hostel! The staff was super friendly and always ready to help. The rooms were clean and comfy, and the common areas had a great vibe for meeting fellow travelers. Perfect location, close to everything! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun and cozy place to stay. Can't wait to come back! 😊

Actual hostel is lovely. I was in a dorm, beds were comfy, bathrooms clean and tidy, very nice pool. But, as for social, I think I was near the only Brit i encountered in either my dorm or social areas, and top of this the majority of my dorm was in bed on their phones in silence but 8:30pm. I don’t know if I was unlucky or if this hostel is just not at all social, but for me, I would not go to again for this reason as a solo traveller. Perhaps if you are in a group this does not matter at all. Did not partake in their dive course so can’t comment on it at all but Hostel and Dive staff in the lobby and reception all seemed friendly.

You know those hostels that make you feel like home? When the staff or owner is so nice that it brightens your day? ... This is NOT it 🫠 Quite the opposite, I had the most unpleasant and draining experience I've had in a hostel. I've never encountered such a rude receptionist or Thai person in 5 years here. The chubby guy with glasses, he's the manager I think. I was checking in, and a poor girl was just asking a question, and when she didn't get it, he went from loud to scolding her. I questioned why he was being so loud at her, and he proceeded to say that's just the way he speaks, berating me and shaking with anger while telling me the check-in info. Overall they're very inflexible. I understand if they have to follow rules, like I asked if it was possible to save me a little breakfast because I was coming 1 hour late from diving. It's ok to say no, the problem is HOW this guy communicates. The mean attitude is crazy. If you're so sick of people you shouldn't work in the service industry. The clean and spacious hostel doesn't make up for the high price and being treated like garbage. I hope this person checks his behavior and heart. Choose kindness!

Highly recommended! Stayed in the 6-bed dorm and it was clean, spacious and an overall comfortable stay! Toilet was super clean too!!! Good and quiet area with restaurants, convenience stores and nice cafes down the road as well. Also kudos to the friendly staff who were always ready to lend a helping hand and appreciate that the hostel had events everyday to allow guests to mingle! Will defo stay again if I return to Koh Tao!

Perfect Stay at Dearly Hostel Overview: I recently stayed at Dearly in Koh Tao, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This hostel combines a great location, excellent amenities, and a friendly atmosphere. Location: Situated in a vibrant area, Dearly Hostel is just a short walk from the beach and local shops. It’s the perfect base for exploring the island. Facilities: The hostel offers easy bike rentals, making it simple to explore Koh Tao at your own pace. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and there’s a lovely communal area to relax in. Breakfast: One of the highlights was the delicious breakfast! They offer a variety of options that cater to different tastes—definitely a great way to start the day. Diving Center: The on-site diving center is a fantastic bonus. The staff are experienced and offer great packages for both beginners and experienced divers. I didn’t have my dive here but my friends had an amazing time diving with them! Atmosphere: The vibe at Dearly Hostel is welcoming and social. I met a lot of great people during my stay, and the organized activities made it easy to connect with fellow travelers. Staff: The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with recommendations or bookings, making my stay even more enjoyable. Value for Money: For the quality of the accommodation, breakfast, and the diving facilities, the prices are very reasonable. I felt I got great value for my money. Conclusion: I highly recommend Dearly Hostel for anyone visiting Koh Tao. Whether you’re looking to dive, relax, or explore, this hostel is the perfect choice! And one last thing there is a rooster noise from the houses of the locals but personally it didn't bother me.

I stayed in a single room and it was really nice. Very clean, good bed. I had the complimentary breakfast as well which was just fine. ||There is a good vibe at the place and the staff is happy and welcoming. It’s really nice that the reception/lobby area is open til late. ||However the staff are a bit disorganized and too chill for my liking. My breakfast was always 30 minutes late and I had to remind them before I got it. They also went into my room even though I had the Do Not Disturb sign on. And they were supposed to pick me up at the pier on arrival. The boat was an hour late so I completely understand they left again but it would have been cool to get a message about it and not just show up to nothing. Since they are locals they probably could have checked about the boat and know that it was late and not my fault. ||The pool seems a bit abandoned and it not the most welcoming. But overall it was a great and safe stay and I would recommend :)

This place is just perfect. Free good breakfast, towel and soap included, everything is clean and there is enough space in the room. There is also a pool and a Co working area. The staff is kind. Thank you so much! Sawadeeka

Clean but so spread out, overcrowded and and hence, poorly managed. We ended up here only because we didn't have any other options in town. Very cheeky in terms of their booking as well. We booked a double room, but got charged for a 4 bed dorm that we never wanted! When we asked about this at front desk, they brushed it aside rudely. A hostel without a kitchen- microwave-kettle. Not even drinking water. They sell it at higher than store prices. We saw many backpackers going water shopping after checking in. The pool is dirty, overused.
