We were truly looking forward to this visit, but the experience left us frustrated and disappointed. The wait time was unacceptable: our meal for two took just over an hour to arrive, while another table of six, who came about 20 minutes later, was served before us.
We had planned a wine tasting after lunch, but the delay made that impossible. When we raised our concerns, the restaurant manager came over and told us to eat first and discuss the issue afterward. Unfortunately, that conversation never happened. After the meal, only the waitress came with the bill—no apology, no effort to make things right. Words of regret after the fact don’t help, and promises for “next time” don’t matter when the chance to fix things was right there and ignored.
The food itself was average, nothing special, but the service was absolutely inadequate. This is how you lose customers. We will not return, and we won’t be ordering wine here again. Coming from Germany, we value good hospitality, and this was far from it.
The property is beautiful and worth a visit, but based on our experience, think carefully about what you want to do on-site. For us, the planned wine tasting was canceled—and that says it all.
