I first saw about this unassuming coffee shop in a reddit post wherein it earn quite a recommendation from a number of coffee enthusiast so I decided to make a visit around end of Feb 2025. Since then, I've been here for quite a number of times already! The vibe of the place is very comforting for me (although there was time where t'was a bit noisy but nevertheless, it was still okay) and cozy at the same time. I always have a very good time here everytime I visit the shop. Their staff were all warm, very good, and helpful! The coffee didn't dissappoint as well! I recommend you to try their BERG's Coffee which I think was their own concoction and was named after Berg's Department Store (the former occupant of the place where The Den is located now). Pair this with their Grilled Cheese which by the way, is a top tier grilled cheeseee (see pic for your reference)!!! Haha When you are on a walk around Escolta, or after vising the Sta Cruz Church after buying golds from Ongpin, please do yourself a favor and visit this coffee shop! 🫶

A quaint cafe tucked inside HUB make lab. You will miss it if you don't look hard enough. They have a small menu lang but I was impressed with the quality of their food and drinks. I had the Bergs specialty coffee and it had a great flavor - perfectly balanced. The sourdough chocolate chip cookie was thicc and tasted AMAZING. Cappuccino was good though a little watered down. Overall a great experience though hope they can improve their AC system, it was quite hot.

Nice staff and ambience, in a heritage building converted into a trendy creative place. Would be a good place to work from the coffee is an in-house roast and is good. A bit too sour of a blend for iced black to my taste but was decent in the 'Berg' coffee with coconut milk that they offer (albeit sugar and creaminess make most stuff palatable). On the pricier side for Metro Manila coffee but not too mahal. Food looks good but yet to try. Definitely a good spot I would return to and bring friends.

Good coffee and GREAT food. Always find myself here whenever I visit Binondo and Escolta. I got the grilled cheese spam sandwich and manila sunrise (orange coffee), while my friend had the berg and a cookie.

A third wave café right in the heart of Binondo—yes, really! The staff were amazing, and I even had a chance to chat with one of them. I noticed free condoms at the counter, and she shared that the owner is an HIV advocate and supports the organization LoveYourself. The coffee was great—I tried the "Big Black Cup" (and yes, it really is big, haha!) along with a cookie.

The Den Manila in Escolta is a solid coffee spot, especially for someone like me who’s never been to a creative hub before. It’s a cozy place with a lot of character, and the coffee is definitely the highlight. The vibe is laid-back yet lively, with a good mix of people and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to relax or get some work done. Aside from the great coffee, there’s a creative energy that fills the space without being too much. It’s one of those places where you can just feel comfortable, whether you’re there alone or with friends. The crowd’s friendly, and it’s got that perfect balance of being chill and inspiring. Definitely a spot I’d return to for both the coffee and the vibe.

Didn't know this place was tight like that! 🫵🏻 Had brunch in here with my baby niece and my sister, and everything was so good! I love how it's inside an art community too; people who visit the place and the people who work here definitely were warm. Had spanish matcha and chocolate latte (?), tapa, spam musubi, and waffles. We loved them all. A little pricey but I'd definitely go back :)

Coffee is just okay, nothing special. But i love the location of the coffee shop. I love the ambiance but a bit crowded when we went there in the afternoon. I like that the shop is surrounded by plenty of stores promoting creativity and art.

Yelp
A hole in the wall coffee shop that can be found in Escolta's Hub Make Lab. The menu is in fact interesting and I went for the Berg's paired with Toast topped with Nutella Spread. Fell in love with the grilled cheese with tomato dip. The quality of the bread is good and the cheese is just as great. The store provides a QR Code for contact tracing upon entry and body temp is also being identified. they provide a paperbag for the mask and each table is marked for social distancing.
