"More community table than traditional restaurant, The Depanneur runs on a rotating lineup of home cooks, professional chefs, and food lovers hosting one-night-only dinners, cooking classes, and drop-in brunches, so you might land on Palestinian mezze one night and handmade Italian pasta the next; it’s casual in the best way and built around conversation as much as food—check the schedule ahead since things change weekly." - Coolstuff Team

Held my bachelorette party at The Dep and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Len and Neil were so welcoming and accommodating. The food we prepared with the guidance of Chef Niharika (Haem’s Table) was delicious. If you’re considering hosting your event or taking a cooking class at The Dep, I couldn’t recommend them more!

My partner and I took the holiday chocolates and truffles class with Emily Zimmerman at The Depanneur and had a wonderful time! Emily is full of knowledge, lovely and easygoing and taught us the basics of chocolate tempering techniques, truffles, chocolate bark and cream filling - all vegan, which was an added bonus for us. Plus, we got to take home a printout with the recipes. Highly recommend!

My family and I took at baking class at the Dep and had the best time. The view is stunning, the space is awesome and everyone was friendly and helpful. And the bread we made was SO GOOD! Thank you for the experience!

I went to a Knife Skills workshop in the new space on Spadina. I enjoyed the workshop, it was fairly basic but a friendly atmosphere. We diced, cubed, and chopped veggies for a chickpea and potato curry and salsa which we had for lunch after the workshop. Delicious! The space is lovely. Big windows, great views, exposed brick and chandeliers, in an old building. The Dep has a lot of interesting stuff happening.

What an absolute delight of a brunch experience! Mama Linda fixed us up an amazing Filipino lunch and mini cloudcakes, everything was so delicious and so new! My fiend and I got the Kamayan platter for two and we were both comfortably stuffed. Mama Linda herself came over and had a chat with us about the food and what we thought. We had a wonderful morning here and will definitely be back for the dinner parties and some cooking lessons!

The Depanneur is a small cafe with delicious homemade foods from culinary students. The food takes a little longer to prepare because of this but it is so delicious. Very small dining area so you may have to get comfortable with the people next you!

I love this restaurant and all the flavours they create. It’s so cool that they use food to bridge cultures and help us accept new immigrants into our society.
