"When they renovated this 4-storey home in the medina, owners Emma and Graham deliberately avoided dusty, moody Moorish overtones, instead hanging on to their expertise in retro interior design. The Design House is filled with groovy 60s finds like mushroom lamps, a wall of skulls and a rattan hanging chair. Clean white lines and sunny terraces (there are 2) provide the perfect backdrop for photo shoots and lazy afternoons. Beyond the house walls, laid-back Essaouira is an antidote to the frenetic pace of life at home. Whether you want to eat well, shop till you drop, or experience the relaxation of a hammam, ex-Londoner Emma can introduce you to all the right people. Very professional process when picking out our materials for a remodel. Camille has impeccable taste. They handled our frustrations with shipping delays over the summer months and responded in a timely manner to our requests for updates. They even let us borrow a couple of lobby chairs to fill our space during holiday entertaining since our custom chairs were delayed due to COVID supply chain issues. They also listened to my concerns and handled some product changes with wallpaper very graciously. We are thoroughly pleased with the end product and appreciate their time and attention.

Very disappointing experience. Went into their store to set up an appointment for service. Was helped by the owner Camille Olson. Was told they were busy, which was fine, I wasn't expecting immediate service, but was then told I'd be called in a week to set up a time for an appointment in the future. I was also told their fee was $125 an hour. It's been close to 6 weeks since I first walked through their doors and I never received any call. Truly deserves a big fat 0 rather than 1 star. Unprofessional and not worth their commanding fee. If they can't pick up the phone when they say they will, I'm not convinced they can handle a remodel job which requires professional attention and punctuality. Highly recommend you look elsewhere! EDIT TO ADD: Owner responds over a year after I posted, weird!

My experience at the Design House has been fabulous. I have only worked with one designer and have stayed with her through several projects. I have loved every idea she has come up with and our home has been beautifully updated with fresh, new style. We had one issue with a chair and it was dealt with quickly and the chair was replaced. Design House will be my go to decorator and I happily recommend them often to friends.

Very unprofessional company and not a well-thought out process for customers and payment. My apt was re-scheduled through a text message a couple hours before we were to meet for the first time. The designer showed up and had no original ideas. I told her which specific things I wanted and did not want. She then texted me several badly-taken pictures of products in a catalog without prices/names/model, etc and each one was specifically things I had requested I did not want. I did not answer and several days later, was notified I now had a bill for 4 hours worth of her work for a total of $450! I told her I was not happy with her work and that I shouldn't be charged for her time sending me bad pictures of stuff I had already told her I didn't want and she offered to bring it down by an hour to $375. I didn't authorize her to work 3hrs on "finding stuff in a catalog." In the end, I paid for 1 hour's worth because she did finally meet up for our appt - even if it was unprofessional and I did not get any value from it. The whole thing was very unprofessional. Minor but text messages were hard to understand with incorrect English, my name wrong, numerous misspellings, emails without a signature so I had no idea who it was from. Not at all what I expected when I decided to go with what I thought was a higher-end design company. Would not recommend.
