The room was fantastic, it had everything we needed including a diffuser attachment for curls (which was a lovely touch). The view was great and the room felt spacious. The bathroom was lovely and the shower was 10/10. As it was our anniversary, they even left us a handwritten note. To get to the hotel is about a 7 minute walk so it’s an easy location to get to. The staff were so helpful with check in and out and made sure to give you all the information regarding the restaurant and bar on arrival.

Our questions were answered immediately via email from Barbara who gave us top tips on public transport from Dublin airport. The room was larger than expected but still very cosy and had several quirky additions, i.e. guitar, vintage telephone, smeg mini fridge and skateboard on the wall. Dyson hairdryer and hot water bottle were lovely touches along with coffee machine and snack shelf. Shower delightful and nice views down the street. Very funky atmosphere overall, will be returning!!

Stayed at The Devlin for a short business trip and really enjoyed it. Booking was straightforward (via booking.com) and check-in was straightforward with friendly enthusiastic staff.
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet enough to get some work done. Loved the shampoo and conditioner. It smelled fantastic and left my hair feeling fresh and well cared for. I felt fresh as a daisy walking out of there.
The staff were friendly and helpful without making a fuss. The location in Ranelagh is great, with plenty of geat restaurants nearby.
A very smooth stay from start to finish.

This Hotel is conveniently located in Ranelagh but beware, there is no on site parking not even a short stop to drop off luggage. Limited parking is offered (7 spaces) half a kilometre distant from the hotel at a cost of €15 per night.
Our room was, to put it mildly, compact. The bed was against the outer wall and touched the side walls at head and foot. So the inside occupant had to climb over the bed and indeed the other occupant to get in or out of bed.
There was no wardrobe and no luggage rest. There was a single flimsy stool. No chair. The under bed drawer held kettle hairdryer etc.
The shower room was clean but claustrophobic.
The staff were faultless. Polite, courteous and as helpful as circumstances permitted.
The rooftop restaurant offered a limited and expensive menu with the exception of reasonably priced pizza which proved to be excellent. Again the staff were very pleasant.
Breakfast was served in the groundfloor bar. The menu was broad and the food was sufficient but cold on our first morning. We learned and asked for our food to be hot on the second morning, so it arrived warm. The poached eggs were the exception. They were freshly cooked and excellent.
We found the drinks offered in the bar to be strange. No familiar spirits apart from Jameson. A small Heineken 0.0 was €9.
Try McSorley's a few doors away for more palatable pricing and choice.
This hotel will not be one we will revisit

Stayed at The Devlin for a few nights in the heart of Ranelagh and I was pleasantly surprised.
The area has some great restaurants right on the doorstep and it’s lovely to be so central while still feeling tucked away.
The hotel itself is a bit of a hidden gem, especially with its old-style cinema which adds a lot of character. My room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly without fuss.
And I have to mention the shower — the shampoo and conditioner were fantastic, left my hair feeling really soft and smelling amazing. Little touches like that make a real difference to a stay.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Devlin is great! There is Layla’s bar upstairs, Americana bar downstairs, and dime coffee.
The coffee and confectioneries from dime are great, especially their updated selection of pastries!
In Americana, the food and drinks are great and very reasonably priced. The Chicken sandwich from the lunch menu is delicious! On top of this, the staff are very friendly and accommodating - especially João, Lara, Fernando and Tirza 😄⭐️

Location is about a 30 min walk to downtown! Really great place, super clean, however the bunk bed rooms are SUPER small. If you want room to walk around and relax, maybe not th place for you, but if you’re okay in close quarters you’ll be okay! The beds are super comfy and the place is super clean.

Fine hotel, lovely decor. Small room but that’s fine for one person. Great location for buses, Luas, and walking. Nice pubs and cafes nearby, and a Tesco and two pharmacies very close. Lovely staff!
Only issues were ventilation (a little stuffy), and there was some mold in the bathroom. Not horrible, but present.

Yelp
Nice place to stay if you wanna avoid the hustle & bustle of Dublin Center. Located in the rapidly gentrifying town of Ranelagh which is full of great restaurants, pubs & coffee shops.. this joint truly is a hidden gem! Basically you can take the Luas 3 stops out of D2 and walk here, it's a bit more residential with lots of friendly locals.. they said. They are the sister property of The Dean Hotel and have a great hopping lobby bar as well as a rooftop restaurant AND movie theater downstairs! The rooms are very nice but also quite small. I really liked the little touches like the Marshall Amp & Acoustic Guitar in the room for music. Really nice bathroom & a nice view of residential Ranelagh round it out! Just like most hotels in Dublin not everything works right in the room & they are in no hurry to *comp* anything or discount the room; nothing. The shower FLOODED every time you used it no matter how you positioned the shower head. The refrigerator didn't get cold until the last day but was "Working Fine" according to a maintenance man? No. Various lights & remotes for TV worked when they wanted to.. if I'm paying this much I don't want to have to spend time on this bs.. I'm on VACATION!!! Comp something, at least maybe a free breakfast? Wow, amazing.. I spent 10 days at both properties and didn't even get a pint of Guinness on them. Anyways.. if you're solo I would recommend this place.. for a couple? Maybe too small unless you don't plan on being in the room much. Great location and pretty reasonable prices along with a decent front desk with a very pretty Irish girl will edge out the little problems// talk later PS- Try the chocolate fondant dessert at bar!

Yelp
I've never stayed here so I can't comment on their accomodation experience. What I have experienced is dinner and drinks at The Devlin a number of times. When it first opened, the service was really excellent but I feel that the levels of effort being made have dropped since then.
My partner and her sister are both visually impaired and require that menus be read to them. We were eating in Layla's on the top floor. I was arriving late so they asked the manager seating them if they could read out the menus for them. The manager wouldn't do it and insisted that the waiter, who struggled with English, attempt the reading. Everybody was embarassed by the situation as the poor guy really struggled. They ended up ordering the first thing on the menu to relief the pressure from the waiter.
After I arrived, they had ordered a side portion of parmesan fries which arrived cold. They sent them back and the poor waiter was made to bring them back to the table and ask which part of the fries were cold. Challenging the customer is poor form. We replied that all of them were cold. The waiter told us the chefs act like this a lot. The rest of the food was below average.
Having paid up and whilst leaving we informed the manager that the waiter was great but that we didn't appreciate the kitchen challenging us on the temperature of the fries nor on the waiter being forced to read out the menu when it was clearly a struggle for him. The manager just shrugged her shoulders at us.
It being very local to where we live, we won't patronise it further, which is a shame as the setting is lovely.

Yelp
Stayed here one night before heading to the airport. Overall I found this to be a nice enough place. The rooms are tiny and you won't want to stay in there for long without feeling cramped.. Great shower to clean up in the morning and a nice area. Easy access to the Luas makes it simple to get to dublin. I did ask for directions to the Luas and the gentlemen at the front desk gave me crazy directions to beechwood when the Rennalaugh station is just up the street.

Yelp
I haven't stayed here because I only live 5 mins walk away. This little hotel has created a great buzz in the village!! A few things ;
Pros;
1. Beautifully fitted out hotel
2. Lovely ambience and friendly staff
3. Dinky little cinema downstairs.
Priced the same as the magnificent sister Stella a mile or two up the road. Don't however expect the same luxury. It's more like sitting in a little Court room! It's handy for me though as I walk past it each evening so it's easy to catch the 6-30 show
I would recommend the other Stella or the Swan Cinema for anyone who doesn't live within walking distance of this place
Cons:
Restaurant upstairs called Layla's.
1.Not v exciting menu at all . Too expensive for a steak and other options are boring , so we just went with pizzas. They were good
2. Worst thing is the wine menu. So so poor.
Their cheapest wine ' on tap' is not drinkable.
You then have to jump up to late €30's+++ for anything slightly drinkable. Unfortunately we had to drink a terrible Australian Viognier as there was such a lack of European wines. Anything decent from Europe was €45-55
They seriously need to revisit the wine menu. List some good Italian Pinot Grigio for around €25 a bottle and it would fly off the shelves
Not sure I'd go back to Layla's - think I'd eat downstairs in the bar until they change their food and wine menus

Yelp
The server refused to calculate the split of a bill three ways and made me do it on a phone. Snotty attitude. Food is mediocre and overpriced.
